BAYWATCH 3 : ENGAGING COMMUNITIES
SAINT VALERY, FRANCIA
Attività principali
Join us on the coast and take part in a project about environmental education and natural heritage! Your mission will be to help inform visitors about protecting dunes, beaches, and biodiversity. You will also help update information panels (totems) of the “Grand Site de France.”
You will meet local actors such as elected representatives, associations, and partners to collect their ideas and knowledge. Then, you will help create new texts and content for the information panels to improve them and make them easier to understand for visitors.
You will also organize and lead awareness activities in the field. This will help you practice communication and environmental education skills. You will directly talk to visitors and help them understand how to protect nature, while learning how a protected natural area is managed.
This project is a real experience in environmental mediation and natural area management. It is a useful and meaningful way to help protect the coast and its ecosystems.

Group life is very important: everyone helps with daily tasks and cooking. A budget will be managed to buy food, focusing on fresh, local, and seasonal products for healthy meals.

The project takes place in the Baie de Somme, a beautiful natural area with dunes, marshes, and wetlands. It is a “Grand Site de France” and attracts many visitors, so protecting nature is very important.
You will also have the chance to visit places like the Samara archaeological park or World War I sites. In summer, there are markets, festivals, and local events.
Saint-Valery-sur-Somme is a historic medieval town and a popular tourist place. Many visitors come here, especially in summer. Your activities will help connect heritage, nature protection, and visitor awareness, encouraging respectful behavior.
