Attività principali
You will become part of an international team and help to maintain and develop a nature trail. The nature trail is a project that offers children and their parents an insight into the local flora and fauna. You will be responsible for the care and maintenance of the trail – this means taking care of the vegetation, removing weeds, and ensuring that the path remains accessible at all times. You will also help to expand the nature trail by setting up new themed stations that are exciting and educational for visitors. In addition to the practical work, we would also like to address the topic of the EU and democracy. Europe is more than just a political union – it is a community of opportunities and possibilities for young people. To this end, a meeting with the president of the Europaunion is planned. There may also be an excursion to Mainz. We are currently seeing many anti-democratic developments. At our camp, we would like to get together and discuss how important democracy is.

Two large rooms are available for you in the community center, which is directly in the center of Enkenbach-Alsenborn. We will set up one room as a dormitory for you with air beds/mattresses. Please note: You will all sleep in one room and the other room will be your common room. There is a kitchen and sanitary facilities. The showers are located in the daycare center behind the community center, a 5-minute walk away.
You cook together. You will be provided with money for shopping. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please indicate any intolerances when registering

In Enkenbach-Alsenborn, there is a lovely outdoor pool to which you will receive free admission and the town is situated in a very scenic location, close to the Palatinate Forest Nature Park. Perhaps you'd like to take a trip to Trifels, the legendary imperial castle, or immerse yourself in the diverse Palatinate Forest. You can also visit the nearby Hambach Castle. Perhaps you can also go to the high ropes course or water skiing or use the tennis court. The cities of Heidelberg, Mannheim or Mainz are ideal for day trips.

The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany. Each year, we assist around 5,000 young people into volunteer work in Germany and abroad. We give them the opportunity to be creative, act in solidarity, take responsibility for themselves, and discover their own true potential and strengths.
