In the historic town of Linz am Rhein, with its many colorful old town houses, your help is needed. You will help with various gardening and maintenance tasks in the city, e.g. in the park, the historic cemetery and other green spaces in Linz. The municipality of Linz is organizing an international work camp for the 5th time and this camp is also very much about international exchange within the group. The city will also offer a number of activities so that you can get to know the city and the surrounding area. The workcamp groups who spent their summers here in 2019, 2022, 2024, 2025 felt very comfortable and enjoyed all the offers from the municipality

You will be accommodated in the middle of the city in the city hall.

Linz is beautifully situated along the Rhine River and you have numerous excursion options in the surrounding area. You will be given a guided tour of the beautiful old town of Linz, which has several cafés and restaurants. There is also a lovely outdoor pool. You can go on excursions to the nearby cities of Bonn, Koblenz and Cologne.

The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany. Each year, we assist around 5,000 young people into volunteer work in Germany and abroad. We give them the opportunity to be creative, act in solidarity, take responsibility for themselves, and discover their own true potential and strengths.
