Dove alloggerai
Volunteers will stay in a college building located about a 15-minute walk from the after-school center and around 10 minutes from the city center. Accommodation is in shared rooms (2–3 rooms in total). Bathrooms are located in the corridor, with separate male and female facilities, each equipped with showers. A small kitchen is available for simple food preparation, along with a common space where the team can relax and spend time together. During the program, volunteers will eat together with the children. Three meals are provided each day: breakfast, lunch, and a hot afternoon meal. You will also be invited to help with food preparation, giving you the chance to cook and share a traditional dish from your home country with the children. All ingredients will be provided by the host organization.

Scopri Kecskemét
Kecskemét is one of Hungary's rapidly developing cities, rich in historical and cultural heritage. It is famous for its Art Nouveau architecture, including the stunning City Hall, and the renowned Kodály Institute, a center for Hungarian music education. Volunteers will be welcomed into a friendly environment with engaging programs and dedicated local communities that are open to international collaboration. Budapest, the country's vibrant capital, is just an hour away by train, making it easy to include a visit in your plans.
Requisiti
There are no language requirements- however, English will be the working language for international volunteers, while you will be able to communicate in Hungarian (and possibly German) with the children and the Tanoda staff. You may also help these groups better understand one another. Please bring clothes that can get dirty during games, a sleeping bag, and any personal medication you may need.

Organizzatore
The Hajnalcsillag Tanoda (Morning Star After-school) was established by the Kecskemét Reformed Congregation to support disadvantaged–primarily Roma–children in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. The congregation is actively involved in the life of the Tanoda, providing both financial and spiritual support. In addition to supporting children’s academic development, the Tanoda plays an important role in strengthening community bonds and fostering a sense of belonging.
