Landart Installation in the Lüneburg Heath

The Springhornhof Foundation in the Lüneburg Heath is the funding organisation for one of Europe's pioneering landscape art projects. Renowned artists from all over the world have created more than forty works of land art here since the 1970s. Most of the works in this ‘open museum’ are freely accessible and blend gently into the natural surroundings. Others make a clearly visible statement in the landscape. During the first week of camp, you will help restore some land art works—cleaning surfaces, trimming bushes, and carrying out minor repairs. In the second week, you will get creative yourself—together with Marcel Große, an artist from Hamburg who explores the connection between art and science in his multimedia room installations. You will transfer your own designs onto the circular concrete foundation of a former artwork and then engrave them into the stone using hand tools. Your ideas and stories from nature and technology will thus become a permanent part of the landscape. At the end, you will present your work at a small opening ceremony on site.
