Stone by stone at the Cailletière
Dolus‑d’Oléron, FRANCIA
Attività principali
This is the second edition of the workcamp at the Domaine de la Cailletière, continuing the projects initiated last year. The main task will be to restore the site’s historic boundary wall. Participants will take part in the demolition of damaged or unstable sections, followed by rebuilding the wall to straighten, stabilize, and secure it. You will learn and apply traditional masonry techniques, restoring the wall’s authentic appearance using natural stones and lime mortar.
No prior experience is required, and all safety equipment will be provided. Please bring appropriate work clothing (it will get dirty!). Work sessions are approximately 4 to 5 hours per day, offering a perfect balance between hands-on activity and free time to explore the island.
