THE TRAIN OF THE WAY OF ST. JAMES

Canfranc Refuge. A traditional Canfranc house that has been renovated to provide an ideal setting for social activities. There is a shared room with 20 beds where socialising and getting to know each other is encouraged. There is also a room with two beds and a bathroom which can be made available to any participant with a disability or illness who may need it for one night or for their entire stay.

The hostel has a large dining room with wooden tables which can be used as a multipurpose room for parties, meetings and workshops. Another room is equipped with a television, a computer for public use, games and music, and can be used for recreational or educational activities. There are four showers and four toilets for each gender next to the common room, making a total of eight showers, eight toilets and eight sinks.

There is also an office for privacy, for making phone calls or doing personal work, and a 200-square-metre outdoor terrace with garden furniture for outdoor dining. There is a washing machine and space for drying clothes.

Home-style meals that are plentiful and designed to meet the nutritional needs of active adults. They are prepared by professional staff in a purpose-built kitchen at the facility itself.

The dining room is spacious and connected to the kitchen.

The group organises the dining room according to their needs, setting the tables, serving the food and clearing up after the meal themselves, which encourages collaboration and shared responsibility.

There is also an outdoor dining area in the hostel garden, which is used whenever the weather is good as it is more pleasant, especially in August.

Specific meals are prepared for vegetarians, vegans, and others, and the needs and customs of young people are catered for according to their beliefs.

The menu is balanced and does not include ready-made meals. We try to use short supply chains to make responsible food choices, which results in the best possible nutrition for the participants.
