This workcamp offers a unique dual experience of cultural involvement and environmental action. During the first phase, participants will be fully integrated into the logistical organization and support of the Boulevard du Jazz Festival. The second phase takes place within the Craie Biological Reserve. Volunteers will undertake concrete actions for biodiversity, including:
• The creation and restoration of ponds.
• The development of a mudflat area to support local ecosystems.
• The installation of wildlife shelters (nesting boxes for birds, bat boxes, and perches).
All activities are conducted in a spirit of teamwork, cooperation, and commitment to the living world.

You will stay at the municipal campsite in Melle in one- or two-person tents. Mattresses are provided, but you must bring your own warm sleeping bag and pillow. A large marquee (tivoli) will serve as your communal living space, fully equipped with a refrigerator, gas stove, and kitchen utensils. A vehicle is available for group travel. Meals are managed via a collective food budget. Participants will take turns preparing lunch and dinner, prioritizing local products and environmental values while respecting everyone’s cultural habits. Vegetarian and vegan options are always available.

Leisure : Melle is the perfect starting point to explore the charming villages of the Deux-Sèvres region and immerse yourself in local community life. Group outings will be organized collectively based on your interests: exploring the Silver Mines of the Frankish Kings, visiting the municipal swimming pool, cinema outings, or hiking. You will also have the chance to visit nearby historic towns like Niort or Celles-sur-Belle. These moments are ideal for intercultural exchange and building bonds with local residents.
