Are you eager to help renovate a beautiful farmhouse while experiencing an unforgettable collective adventure? Join our workcamp for the Grosso Modo music collective and help bringing to life this space dedicated to art and culture, in a project combining renovation work and a music festival!
You will work on restoring the farmhouse using traditional techniques that respect the old building and are sustainable. Several tasks will be carried out, such as applying lime-miscanthus insulating plaster, pouring a lime slab, woodworking workshops, and perhaps even some gardening.
In the last week, the association organizes a music festival, a friendly and festive event not to be missed! You will be involved in organizing the festival, building small pieces of furniture and landscaping the courtyard, welcoming the public, etc.
Whether you're a real handyman or not so much, a music lover, or simply looking for new experiences, your energy and ideas will be welcomed with enthusiasm.

The meeting point is at the LANGEAC (43) SNCF train station in the late afternoon. The exact meeting time will be communicated at the latest with the itinerary one month before the start of the project.
It is a small station served by a few trains per day. Several routes with connections are possible from Paris, Lyon, or Clermont-Ferrand.
If possible, please consider using low-carbon transportation (train and bus rather than airplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.

Dove alloggerai
You will be accompanied by two camp leaders throughout your stay.
You will share various collective tasks and cooking duties. Meals will be shared with members of the collective and any other volunteers present on the farm. A chef is on hand to prepare delicious menus (mostly vegetarian). Your days will be punctuated by many moments of sharing and community life: communal meals, game nights, lively discussions, and of course, musical moments to relax and socialize!
You will be accommodated in individual tents with inflatable mattresses (provided by Concordia) on a site located 10 minutes' walk from the farm, with access to dry toilets on site. Solar showers and dry toilets are available on the farm, as well as communal living areas and a room specifically reserved for project participants. There is no WiFi available, but a washing machine is to be installed on site.

Saint-Arcons-d'Allier is a small town located in the Haute-Loire department in Auvergne, 35 km from Le Puy-en-Velay and a stone's throw from the Allier Gorges. Set in an exceptional location, surrounded by nature, you can't help but admire its beautiful basalt flows.
In your free time, you can enjoy outdoor activities, swim in the rivers, discover the local heritage, or even make music with the collective.
Requisiti
This project is supported by the program European Solidarity Corps for young people between 18 and 30 years. It is open to all volunteers that fit the ESC criteria.
The participation to the ESC volunteering teams is subjects to several principles and conditions, presented on the ESC webpage: https://europa.eu/youth/solidarity/mission_en
- Volunteers do not have to pay any fee (no sending, nor participation fee) to attend the project
- Volunteers need to enroll in the PASS, the European Solidarity Corps Portal Concordia France will organise their matching, on the online system, with the volunteering project
- Volunteers will receive pocket money, calculated on basis of 8€/day, once they arrive on the project in France
- Volunteers will receive a financial support for their travel, according to a maximum amount established in accordance with their travel distance and upon the presentation of original tickets
- Volunteers will have to complete a participation report, submitted online through the portal.
Your tickets have to be uploaded on the CONFIRMATION FORM. Please fill the confirmation form when you receive the Infosheet. This is MANDATORY for all ESC participants. If you fail to provide your transport tickets on time, your participation may be cancelled. The tickets have to be shared a month before the project. In the case of last minute application, the delay will be of two days.
Organizzatore
The Grosso Modo association is an artistic and cultural organization in Haute Loire that stands out for its commitment to traditional music with a twist, blending world music with contemporary creations. It supports, produces, and encourages artistic and cultural projects.
Three years ago, the association acquired a magnificent farmhouse in Saint-Arcons-d'Allier in Haute-Loire, near Langeac. It plans to renovate it and develop a third-place project both to establish its activities (creation, training) and to develop new activities (music and dance workshops, residencies, concerts, dances, laboratories).
