The Border Memorial is quite impressive and many visitors come to see it every year. To keep it in good conditions and to improve the access to the memorial, a lot of maintenance works are regularly needed. This is too much for the volunteers of the local association alone, so they are happy to get support from you. You will help them on maintenance and repair works at the Border Memorial and its surrounding. You will also set up a geocache at the Border Memorial and build a wooden seating area. In the course of the workcamp, there will be several study parts and excursions to learn more about the period of the German division, contemporary Germany and its people (History Lab). The work will be led by a professional instructor, so no previous experience is needed.

Alloggio
You will stay in Hötensleben former town hall. After the town hall moved to another place, the building has been renovated and now includes several holiday apartments. The apartments are quite comfortable and spacious, so that there will be enough room for everyone. There are different sleeping rooms with single beds and camp beds and a good equipped kitchen as well. Please bring a sleeping bag with you.
Your group of volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking together. The food will be bought with the camp budget and everybody will take turns for cooking, washing the dishes and cleaning. In order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage volunteers to reduce meat and try more sustainable dishes.

During the period of the Cold War, the village of Hötensleben used to be directly on the inner German border (Eastern side) that was dividing Germany. From 1952 to 1989, the village was part of an exclusion zone, created by the East German dictatorship. The exclusion zone was spread along the 1400 km borderline with West Germany and its goal was to prevent illegal border crossings. Walls, barbed wire fences, and watchtowers blocked the view and the roads to the West. Border guards, mines, and guns made sure that no one would try to flee from East Germany. For the villagers, as for all people living in the 5 km exclusion zone, life was even more restricted than elsewhere in the country. Armed forces and state surveillance were ever-present. Still, many people died trying to escape.
After the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1989, the border fortifications were preserved by the local Border Memorial Association (Grenzdenkmalverein). A section of 400 metres of the former fortification system can still be visited today. The Border Memorial depicts life at the former border – in East and West Germany, informs about the rigid border regime, and commemorates its victims. It belongs to the Marienborn Memorial of German Division.

Brithdir Mawr is situated in a very rural area with limited public transport however Trefdraeth town is about half an hour walk away with various pubs and cafes, a few shops, a post office, and a lovely beach.
Trefdraeth is situated in an exceptionally beautiful part of Wales, with pretty beaches, forests and a small mountain range. Newport has a lovely beach, river and a famous coastal path with views of the sea over the cliffs. There is also a little mountain that you can walk to from the Brithdir Mawr Community!

The accommodation will be camping in their camping field - please bring your own tents. There are compost toilets (or 'loos' as we call them in the UK!), solar showers, cold running water and sinks in the camping field. There are more compost toilets down by the farmhouse and hot showers available there also. Cooking will either be in the main house communal kitchen or in the outdoor kitchen. All the heating and cooking is wood fired with wood from the land. They are off grid for electricity (wind, solar and hydro) so sometimes supply is limited if the batteries are low and use of high energy appliances such as electric kettles is restricted. However there is usually enough for normal, mindful use such as lighting, phone charging, laptop use etc.

FEE:Volunteers will be asked to pay a fee of £90 GBP upon arrival. VAP charges this fee as without it we would be virtually unable to organise any projects in the UK.
NB: Please check your travel requirements to the UK before applying.
NO FLY ZONE: Due to Brithdir Mawr's no fly policy they are unable to accept volunteers who fly to the UK just to volunteer with them as the benefits of the volunteering work are negated by the environmental impact of the flight. They ask therefore that volunteers only book on the camp if they are able to travel there by land and sea. Thank you.

Brithdir Mawr is an intentional community and home to around 14 adults and 4 children. They work together to grow food, manage the land for wood and livestock, run educational courses, live off grid and we endeavour to live a low impact lifestyle.
Brithdir Mawr functions as a non hierarchical group, using consensus decision making, personal responsibility and trust to organise and run the site. A total of 10 cities were affected by two major earthquakes and hundreds of aftershocks that followed in Kahramanmaraş, located in southeast Turkey. Thousands of buildings were destroyed and many more severely damaged. Tens of thousands of adults and children affected by the earthquake were transferred to temporary accommodation areas in the surrounding safe cities as they had nowhere to go. Aşık Veysel Cultural Association opened the student dormitory located in the center of Ankara to the earthquake victims. In this dormitory, earthquake victims' families and their children live. All the needs of the earthquake victims are met by the Aşık Veysel Cultural Association, with the donations made to them and the efforts of the volunteers. We will need the support of volunteers in many areas such as cooking for earthquake victims, food distribution, environmental cleaning, public health and hygiene, organization, organization and distribution of humanitarian aid materials, transportation and transportation, psycho-social support for children and gamified activities. Various business divisions can be made on many subjects that are written and not written here. Volunteers can be assigned for any job in the living spaces created for earthquake victims, depending on the need. Please note that in such extraordinary circumstances, work plans and needs can change rapidly. Maximum adaptation to changing conditions is strongly requested. Volunteers can participate in more than one program without a work permit and visa for a minimum of 4 weeks and a maximum of 89 days.

Volunteers will stay in Aşık Veysel Girls' Dormitory, where the depressed people live, in rooms for 2-3 people only with volunteers. The rooms have a shower and toilet. There is a dining hall and cafeteria in the dormitory. The dormitory is in a very central location in Ankara. Volunteers will be provided with three meals a day.

In order to work in this environment where children and earthquake victims are present, documents such as a motivation letter and criminal record can be requested. We prefer volunteers who can communicate with traumatized adults and children and produce activities for them. We do not charge extra for this camp, but volunteers can donate any amount they wish upon entry to the camp.

Dal 2017 Legambiente e Diversamente Marinai sono impegnati nella campagna “Vele Spiegate”. In questo contesto Diversamente Marinai propone campi di volontariato in barca a vela di una settimana nell'Arcipelago Toscano. Il progetto prevede la pulizia delle spiagge poco accessibili via terra, il monitoraggio dei rifiuti, l’avvistamento dei cetacei, il monitoraggio e il controllo delle tracce delle tartarughe marine Caretta Caretta, inoltre andremo alla scoperta dei sentieri che incontreremo nelle insenature dove ci fermeremo e mapperemo quelli che non sono presenti sulle carte. Il progetto mira alla conoscenza del mare attraverso la navigazione e alla creazione di team affiatati e motivati. Per questo i partecipanti impareranno la marineria e a farsi equipaggio a bordo. Inoltre, saranno formati sulle principali linee guida in termini di sostenibilità ambientale della fruizione del mare. Non ci può essere vera salvaguardia dell’ambiente senza saper apprezzare il paesaggio naturale. Il campo di lavoro vuole realizzare interventi concreti per migliorare la qualità ambientale mostrando all'equipaggio come vivere sul mare e con il mare sia un’esperienza indimenticabile. Le attività del campo sono arricchite dalla pratica quotidiana della riduzione degli sprechi che la vita di bordo comporta e dalla possibilità di spostarsi utilizzando prevalentemente il vento. Vele Spiegate è un progetto inserito nella Carta Europea del Turismo Sostenibile del Parco Nazionale Arcipelago Toscano per il periodo 2021-2025.

Didattica della vela e la vita di bordo: L’attività prevede un corso di primo livello di navigazione a vela e conduzione di un’imbarcazione, attraverso la sperimentazione diretta delle nozioni acquisite.
Pulizia e monitoraggio delle spiagge accessibili solo dal mare: Il progetto prevede la pulizia di alcune spiagge difficilmente accessibili via terra, attraverso la rimozione dei rifiuti. In tale occasione saranno anche monitorati i rifiuti attraverso la tecnica del Beach litter riportando dati e riflessioni su appositi moduli, fornendo dati che saranno utilizzati per scopi scientifici.
Avvistamento cetacei: l’attività prevede la ricerca e il monitoraggio di delfini e balene che vivono nelle acque dell’Arcipelago durante gli spostamenti giornalieri che compiremo con la nostra imbarcazione.
Ricerca e monitoraggio delle tracce della tartaruga Caretta caretta: i partecipanti impareranno a riconoscere le tracce della tartaruga e saranno impegnati anche nella ricerca delle stesse e nella sensibilizzazione di cittadini e turisti.
Mappatura sentieri: saranno monitorati ed eventualmente mappati quei sentieri che collegano le principali vie sentieristiche dell’isola alle spiagge e insenature, raggiungibili prevalentemente a piedi, e presso le quali faremo sosta con la nostra imbarcazione

Il canale di Corsica e il canale di Piombino possono essere considerati come canali naturali di collegamento tra il mar Ligure e il mar Tirreno, rispettivamente a ovest e ad est dell'isola d'Elba.

Acquisizione delle conoscenze veliche di base per la conduzione di un’imbarcazione in sicurezza. Acquisizione delle conoscenze di base di marineria. Incremento della conoscenza di alcuni ambienti naturali dell’Arcipelago Toscano e della sua biodiversità. Apprendimento relativo alle emergenze ecologiche dell’ecosistema marino e costiero e correlazione con le abitudini di consumo e trattamento dei rifiuti. Attività formative di base volte al riconoscimento delle tracce della tartaruga marina (Caretta Caretta).
Alloggio
I partecipanti alloggeranno su una barca a vela. I pasti verranno preparati in barca e si seguirà un'alimentazione prevalentemente vegetariana.

Spirito di adattamento e amore per il mare. Per un comfort ideale, non essere alti più di 1,85 mt.

Il campo di Swimtrekking del Plemmirio prevede l’attività del nuoto esplorativo lungo le meravigliose co-ste dell’Area Marina Protetta del Plemmirio sino alla Riserva di Vendicari. I campi Swimtrekking si pongo-no l’obiettivo di proporre un’attività in mare che, attraverso l’escursionismo e l’esplorazione, consenta ai partecipanti di maturare un’esperienza autentica in cui confrontarsi sulle tematiche della tutela e della salvaguardia dell’ambiente marino, anche e soprattutto attraverso la conoscenza della flora e della fauna. Gli esploratori a nuoto saranno impegnati nel monitoraggio delle zone costiere e dei fondali marini. I responsabili dell’associazione, nelle vesti di istruttori e guide qualificate, trasmetteranno le indagini effettuate sul campo ai siti web di riferimento e agli enti addetti a tale supervisione. Ad esempio, i partecipanti alimenteranno il famoso sistema di monitoraggio Meteomeduse, in cui si riporteranno le osservazioni sul-la presenza, l’abbondanza, e l’identità specifica delle meduse rilevate durante le escursioni in mare. Le indicazioni contribuiscono tuttora ad arricchire un database utile per lo sviluppo di un modello statistico per la previsione della proliferazione di meduse nei mari italiani. Altro lavoro importante dei partecipanti sarà quello di recuperare in acqua, durante l’attività natatoria, materiali di rifiuto trasportabili ed effettua-re la pulizia delle spiagge con relativa catalogazione (marine e beach litter), nei punti di sosta previsti durante l’attività.
Lavoro
I volontari rimuoveranno i rifiuti dai fondali e da tratti di costa e li trasporteranno a riva. Al termine delle attività in acqua si progetteranno e realizzeranno delle opere artistiche, utilizzando solo i materiali recuperati dal mare e dalle coste. Ispirandosi al progetto Waste-land dell’artista brasiliano Vik Muniz, i rifiuti saranno assemblati per riprodurre una o più foto fatte dai volontari che rappresentino il campo. La riproduzione sarà poi fotografata dall’alto. Le opere verranno poi distrutte e smaltite e, ove possibile, differenziate. I volontari si occuperanno inoltre dell’attività di Marine and beach litter indagando sulla quantità e tipologia di rifiuti raccolti sulle spiagge raggiunte durante il campo al fine di contribuire alla Direttiva europea sulla Marine Strategy. Tutte le attività del campo, il lavoro in mare e il lavoro artistico saranno documentate con una macchina fotografica compatta scafandrata messa a disposizione dall’organizzazione insieme a un computer. A fine campo sarà realizzato un video con tutti i contenuti delle attività svolte e consegnato ai partecipanti (se muniti di penna USB). Altro aspetto fondamentale del campo sarà il censimento di specie marine e in particolare delle meduse. Il Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario (CONISMA), proseguirà infatti la collaborazione con Swimtrekking per un progetto di Scienze dei Cittadini (Citizen Science) estendendo per il 2022 la raccolta di informazioni su ogni avvistamento di meduse, specie non-indigene diurne che vivono nei primi 5-10 m di profondità, e sulla spazzatura marina. I volontari esploreranno e monitoreranno i fondali marini e i tratti costieri contribuendo alla raccolta dati sulle Meduse e recupereranno nel mare e lungo la costa nel corso dell’attività, i rifiuti che saranno poi utilizzati per la realizzazione di opere artistiche che saranno fotografate, catalogate (Beach Litter), distrutte, smaltite e, ove possibile, differenziate. I volontari saranno di volta in volta addestrati dai responsabili dell'associazione a riportare – su apposite schede - le osservazioni sulla presenza, abbondanza, e identità specifica di meduse rilevate durante le escursioni in mare. A fine campo le informazioni raccolte saranno inviate al Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario (CONISMA).

L'Area Marina Protetta del Plemmirio corrisponde al tratto di mare che abbraccia la Penisola della Maddalena, prolungamento meridionale della baia del Porto Grande della città, estesa lungo la costa per una decina di km, in cui si susseguono insenature, anfratti, scogliere e piccole baie. Le sue acque cri-stalline e i suoi straordinari fondali rocciosi, ricchi di ogni specie marina, fanno del Plemmirio la meta prediletta degli amanti del mare, del nuoto e dello snorkeling, ma sono soprattutto le sue sorprendenti grotte ed i percorsi archeologici sommersi a renderla un vero e proprio paradiso marino. Il posto ideale per una vacanza in Sicilia, per immergersi nella bellezza di paesaggi unici e indimenticabili. L’Area Marina del Plemmirio, suggestivo angolo di Mediterraneo, un tempo navigato da flotte fenicie, greche e romane in rotta verso Siracusa, custodisce reperti di varie epoche e civiltà che rendono le attività in mare ancor più magiche e speciali. Ma la riserva naturale del Plemmirio merita di essere esplorata anche via terra. Lungo la costa è possibile effettuare piacevoli escursioni naturalistiche a piedi, tra macchia mediterranea e palme nane. Un viaggio nelle bellezze naturalistiche della Sicilia.
Attività formative
I volontari, adeguatamente formati per l’osservazione delle meduse, avranno il compito di censire, catalogare e studiare i comportamenti delle meduse incontrate durante le attività di esplorazione in mare lungo le coste. I volontari seguiranno inoltre le direttive tema del progetto marine and beach litter per la conservazione dell'ambiente naturalistico.
Alloggio
3 appartamenti, tre cucine e tre bagni.
Per quanto riguarda i pasti, la prima colazione e 5 cene saranno preparate all’interno degli appartamenti. Per il pranzo sarà organizzato invece un pasto al sacco che verrà riposto nei barkini. Sono previste 2 cene fuori dalla struttura ospitante in ristorante
Requisiti e materiali
Fondamentale che tutti i volontari sappiano nuotare i due stili principali: lo stile libero e lo stile dorso. Specifichiamo inoltre che non sono assolutamente importanti i tempi di percorrenza e la tecnica individuale ma una certa abitudine all’attività fisica. Si richiede quindi una certa consuetudine con l’attività sportiva di qualsiasi genere sia pur blanda.

La ASD Swimtrekking è una associazione sportiva dilettantistica affiliata alla UISP che da 27 anni organiz-za il trekking a nuoto in varie località del Mar Mediterraneo e del mondo.

Project activities are divided so they would clean up the local fields in the village as well as collect
any trash that has been thrown out, while they will also be included in the renovation of the local fire
truck. Volunteers will cut low vegetation and bushes in the pasture is the habitat of protected and strictly protected species, as well as collecting garbage by the roadside and from pastures, renovation of fire engines, make trash cans and signs with inscriptions that will be placed by the road and in certain places in the village.

Volunteers will sleep in the large hall of the House of Culture/Czech House located in the center of the village. Volunteers will need to bring bedding/sleeping bags. It is also possible to sleep in tents because behind the building there is a yard equipped for camping.
Meals will be prepared by volunteers in the kitchen in the House of Culture, where we have provided all dishes, stoves, refrigerators, etc.

Citizens' association "Czech village" was founded on February 4, 2022. This is a non-governmental and non-profit association, established for an indefinite period to achieve goals in the field of environmental protection, tourism and promotion of Czech cultural heritage. During the first year of the Association's existence, we organized two garbage clean-up actions in and around Czech village, and we also participated in the organization of the eco-camp "Butterfly Observation Weekend". The objectives of the Association are: improvement and protection of the environment, education of citizens, especially children and young people, about the importance of environmental protection and public support for changing habits regarding the use and preservation of natural resources and regarding handling of waste materials. We also work on the promotion of tourism and the historical and natural values of the municipality of Bela Crkva and its surroundings, especially on the promotion of Czech cultural heritage, protection of human rights, advocacy for better living conditions, as well as better information and education of members and other citizens in order to improve the general quality of life .

Second oldest workcamp in YRS focuses on the nature protected reserve "Kraljevac" and what it has to offer to the locals and visitors. It is located right next to Deliblato sands, the largest sand area in Europe. During the day, volunteers will work on the path next to the lake; fixing the benches and other equipment; cleaning up the bank of the lake as well as setting up a fishing place. They will participate in educational workshops with local children. During leisure hours volunteers will have a chance to go on boat rides get to know surrounding nature.
Keep in mind that you will be working during the summer, appropriate clothes and sun protection are necessary, as well as a good mosquito repellent.

Floating and permanently anchored islands are remnants of lowland peat bogs, globally one of the rarest and most threatened habitats, and represent one of Serbia’s last refuge of the relict plant community of Marsh Fern and Grey Willow.

All volunteers and camp leaders will be accommodated in the Education and Research Centre in Special Nature Reserve Kraljevac 2-bed, 3-bed and 5-bed rooms (linen included, sleeping bag is not required) with shared toilets and showers. Volunteers will be provided with a small kitchen with cooking facilities and groceries to cook for themselves.

Jorearte is a Festival of Performing Arts in the rural environment conducted by the same association ITHEC that was born in 2020 in Santa Eulalia de Gállego and is funded by the Diputación de Huesca, Comarca de la Hoya de Huesca, Ayuntamien-to de Santa Eulalia, Ayuntamiento de Ayerbe, Biscarrués City Council, Adesho and Caja Rural de Aragón Foundation. This first edition was a success and far exceeded the expectations of the organizers despite the exceptional situation in which the Festival took place. In 2022 the third edition is being prepared and ITHEC will be in charge of part of the parallel activities of the Festival and the volunteering. And within our volunteer stra-tegy is the realization of the Volunteer Camp in which the participants will be part of the team of volunteers of the Festival. The work we intend to do with the volunteer team focuses on two distinct areas: .- Support in the organization: assistance to artists and information to the pu-blic, pre-production work of the festival as adaptation of spaces, installation of chairs for the public... .- Participation in the inaugural show. 1. - Support in the organization of the Performing Arts Festival JOREARTE The work under this heading focuses on two different aspects: . - Pre-production of the festival: adaptation of performance spaces, logistics, etc. These works will be carried out with the supervision and accompaniment of the Festival’s production staff. In addition, the staff of the village also collaborates in this part of the work. Among the tasks to be performed are the decoration of spaces, adaptation of public areas with chairs and benches... Preparation of merchandising and dissemination material such as posters or hand programs. . - Production of the festival: During the festival the volunteers will have the fo-llowing tasks: Assistance to artists: reception upon arrival of the companies, accompaniment during your stay in Santa Eulalia, preparation of catering for artists, etc. Public information: in each space of the festival there will be an information point for the public where volunteers will answer questions from attendees. All these tasks will be accompanied by the production staff of JOREARTE. 2.- Participation in the inaugural show The volunteers will participate as actors in the inaugural show of the Festival. A show through the streets of Santa Eulalia that will tell the old stories that the grandparents of the town told in the cadieras of the houses. This artistic work will be led by Misael Hernández, professor of the Municipal Workshops of Theater of Huesca, actor and theater director with more than 30 years of experience in the sector. - ACCOMODATION Casa Felisa, located in Santa Eulalia de Gállego, is an old oil mill, renova-ted and transformed into a cozy rural tourism house. It has double rooms with bathroom. It also has extra beds, two lounges and a common dining room. - FOOD Breakfasts, lunches and dinners will be held in the Residence where parti-cipants stay at the following hours: breakfast 8.30h, lunch 14.00h and din-ner 21.00h. The food will be healthy and balanced, the food will be cooked every day by the cooking team of the residence. The breakfast will be self-service and will consist of: milk, cocoa, coffee, juices, pastries, biscuits, toast, butter and jam. On days when there are excursions or with a very tight schedule outside the residence the food can be replaced by a picnic con-sisting of snack and fruit. This case will be exceptional.

l campo di Swimtrekking-Costa degli Etruschi prevede l’attività del nuoto esplorativo lungo le meravigliose coste della Riserva Naturale di Calafuria. I campi Swimtrekking si pongono l’obiettivo di proporre un’attività in mare che, attraverso l’escursionismo e l’esplorazione, consenta ai partecipanti di maturare un’esperienza autentica in cui confrontarsi sulle tematiche della tutela e della salvaguardia dell’ambiente marino, anche e soprattutto attraverso la conoscenza della flora e della fauna. Gli esploratori a nuoto saranno impegnati nel monitoraggio delle zone costiere e dei fondali marini. I responsabili dell’associazione, nelle vesti di istruttori e guide qualificate, trasmetteranno le indagini effettuate sul campo ai siti web di riferimento e agli enti addetti a tale supervisione. Ad esempio, i partecipanti alimenteranno il famoso sistema di monitoraggio Meteomeduse, in cui si riporteranno le osservazioni sulla presenza, l’abbondanza, e l’identità specifica delle meduse rilevate durante le escursioni in mare. Le indicazioni contribuiscono tuttora ad arricchire un database utile per lo sviluppo di un modello statistico per la previsione della proliferazione di meduse nei mari italiani. Altro lavoro importante dei partecipanti sarà quello di recuperare in acqua, durante l’attività natatoria, materiali di rifiuto trasportabili ed effettuare la pulizia delle spiagge con relativa catalogazione (marine e beach litter), nei punti di sosta previsti durante l’attività.
Lavoro
I volontari rimuoveranno i rifiuti dai fondali e da tratti di costa e li trasporteranno a riva. Al termine delle attività in acqua si progetteranno e realizzeranno delle opere artistiche, utilizzando solo i materiali recuperati dal mare e dalle coste. Ispirandosi al progetto Waste-land dell’artista brasiliano Vik Muniz, i rifiuti saranno assemblati per riprodurre una o più foto fatte dai volontari che rappresentino il campo. La riproduzione sarà poi fotografata dall’alto. Le opere verranno poi distrutte e smaltite e, ove possibile, differenziate. I volontari si occuperanno inoltre dell’attività di Marine and beach litter indagando sulla quantità e tipologia di rifiuti raccolti sulle spiagge raggiunte durante il campo al fine di contribuire alla Direttiva europea sulla Marine Strategy. Tutte le attività del campo, il lavoro in mare e il lavoro artistico saranno documentate con una macchina fotografica compatta scafandrata messa a disposizione dall’organizzazione insieme a un computer. A fine campo sarà realizzato un video con tutti i contenuti delle attività svolte e consegnato ai partecipanti (se muniti di penna USB). Altro aspetto fondamentale del campo sarà il censimento di specie marine e in particolare delle meduse. Il Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario (CONISMA), proseguirà infatti la collaborazione con Swimtrekking per un progetto di Scienze dei Cittadini (Citizen Science) estendendo per il 2023 la raccolta di informazioni su ogni avvistamento di meduse, specie non-indigene diurne che vivono nei primi 5-10 m di profondità, e sulla spazzatura marina.

La Riserva Naturale di Calafuria è situata a pochi chilometri da Livorno e comprende uno splendido promontorio di macchia mediterránea che arriva fino al mare. Interessata dalla presenza di rovine archeologiche, prevalentemente di época etrusca – anche se sono stati scoperti ritrovamenti a partire dal Paleolitico – quest’area presenta una costa eccezionale, meta di molti nuotatori, subacquei e apneisti. La costa di Calafuria, bagnata da un mare trasparente e cristallino, presenta alte falesie in alternanza a suggestive calette e spiagge selvagge che saranno raggiunte a nuoto durante le attività di Swimtrekking. Da ricordare, la presenza in acqua del “corallum rubrum” che indica il buono stato di salute di questo tratto di mare. Inoltre, la presenza di diverse torri, castelli - come il Castello del Boccale- e terrazze che affacciano sul mare dalle alte scogliere rendono il paesaggio un unicum in Italia.
Attività formative
I volontari, adeguatamente formati per l’osservazione delle meduse, avranno il compito di censire, catalogare e studiare i comportamenti delle meduse incontrate durante le attività di esplorazione in mare lungo le coste. I volontari seguiranno inoltre le direttive tema del progetto marine and beach litter per la conservazione dell'ambiente naturalistico.

Il Miramare Village Camping affaccia direttamente sul mare di Calafuria. Il villaggio è molto confortevole e offre un ambiente tranquillo e familiare e offre tutto ciò di cui si necessita. I volontari dormiranno in tende fornite dalla ASD Swimtrekking e dovranno munirsi di sacco a pelo e un materassino. I bagni e le docce calde sono in condivisione con gli altri campeggiatori e si trovano non distanti dalle piazzole delle tende.
Per quanto riguarda i pasti, la prima colazione sarà servita presso un’area attrezzata del campeggio, non distante dalle tende. Per il pranzo sarà preparato un pasto al sacco che verrà riposto nei barkini. Per la cena, i partecipanti consumeranno il loro pasto al ristorante del campeggio. Tutti coloro con problemi di intolleranze o con diverse abitudini alimentari (vegetariani, vegani ecc.) su richiesta, potranno avere dei menù personalizzati. Requisiti e materiali
L’attività dello Swimtrekking si basa sul nuoto. Sarà quindi fondamentale che tutti i volontari sappiano nuotare i due stili principali: lo stile libero e lo stile dorso. Specifichiamo inoltre che non sono assolutamente importanti i tempi di percorrenza e la tecnica individuale ma una certa abitudine all’attività fisica. Si richiede quindi una certa consuetudine con l’attività sportiva di qualsiasi genere sia pur blanda. Le persone molto sedentarie non sono adatte a questo tipo di esperienza. L’attività di Swimtrekking migliora la propria tecnica individuale nel nuoto, sviluppa l’autocontrollo e la conoscenza di sé, fa conoscere una serie di tecniche quali l’apnea e il salvamento, studia la flora e la fauna, il moto ondoso, i venti e le correnti, rafforza e accresce le dinamiche del gruppo. Chiunque può quindi affrontare in maniera positiva l’esperienza di un campo Swimtrekking se interessato a sperimentare le conoscenze da noi proposte.

Your help is requested the Zauberblume Kindergarten. Volunteers will work together with the parents of the kids and with professional workers in order to prepare a nice playground for the kids. Tasks include manual work outside, sometimes with heavy tools. This project is a co-operation with the town council of Blomberg and workers of the municipality.
Beside this manual work, volunteers will get in contact with the kids. Be ready to bring some games you play in your country.

This year volunteers can help to renovate and beautify the outdoor area of the Kindergarten “Zauberblume”. Volunteers will be supported by the local Youth center, which is situated at the edge of the inner city and surrounded by play yards and green areas. Some years ago, international volunteers helped a lot in adding very nice playgrounds to this youth center. It is a perfect place for kids, where they have enough space for noisy outdoor activities!

Childhood Dreams is a special project of GHD, designed for disadvantaged children groups aged 10-14. This camp is sponsored by external funds as well as the funds raised by GHD. All accommodation and food expenses of the disadvantaged children are covered by funds. The project is realised in Afacan Youth House ( www.afacan.de ). We are looking for communicative, talkative, active, children friendly volunteers who are at least 20 years old with some abilities on teaching basic English, any sports like basketball, volleyball, swimming, football, table tennis, etc., chess, arts and crafts, music, dance, drama, in and outdoor group games. Ability of swimming is essential and teaching swimming is preferable. Applicants will be interviewed by the camp managers via Zoom / Skype / WhatsApp before being confirmed. A motivation letter should be send along with the application form.You will share the responsibilities of the leading team to take care a group of kids from the beginning till the end of the camp including the trips outside of the camp as well as all kind of activities during the camp. Please note that you will be dealing with the kids through the given and intensive program all day long. You will spend most of your time with the kids in the camp area with a limited private life. Thus, contact with the locals is very limited; however, you will have contact with the working people in the campsite. Volunteers may have fun together only after the kids go to the bed and the team cover the late, daily staff meeting in the camp. Leaving the camp area is not allowed due to unexpected emergency cases. Teamwork is very essential for this camp. Thus, any volunteer who disagrees with the camp rules and team spirit are asked to leave. Smoking and drinking alcohol is not allowed during the camp at the campsite in front of the kids. Please be aware of the rules before applying.

Your task with the forestry and nature conservation department of the Alb-Donau district is to maintain or restore a wetland biotope (pond and watercourses), to maintain a juniper heath and rough grassland near Mochental. You cut the pond free, repair the dam if necessary and remove overgrown creepers from the pond so that many animal and plant species can spread there again. Juniper heaths developed here in the past through grazing with sheep and goats and are protected as the most species-rich biotopes in Central Europe. They are in danger of becoming wooded again. You will remove shrubs and trees to create space and light for the rare plant species, insects and birds that live there. You will be guided by the forest ranger, a forestry master and forestry trainees.

The small town of Trassem is located in the border triangle of France, Germany and Luxembourg, and thus in the heart of Europe. With your help, we are continuing to build the various components of our natural history station, the "Forest Experience Centre Trassem". The focus is on work such as the completion of natural stone dry stone walls. Together with young people from the region, we maintain the forest adventure trail and the attractive freeride and mountain bike trails. In addition, there is a wide range of work on a forest hut in the nearby "Black Forest High", including the construction of an organic compost toilet and much more. You can not only learn a lot about the forest and nature and take part in a wide range of nature activities, but you can also help to shape them.

Verranno organizzati, inoltre, momenti formativi sulle minacce per la specie e le soluzioni adottate per salvaguardarli"

I volontari saranno impegnati in attività di prevenzione degli incendi (AIB) sull’Isola dei Conigli e alla realizzazione di campagne di sensibilizzazione turistica ed educazione ambientale.
Sono previsti dei lavori manuali come il ripristino dell’importante steccato (infrastruttura leggera di circa 150 metri lineari) a delimitazione del salicornieto centrale e la realizzazione di cartellonistica informativa. I volontari collaboreranno, inoltre, con il gruppo di Ispettori Ambientali di Legambiente e dell’ente gestore della Riserva Naturale Orientata Regionale “Palude del Conte e Duna Costiera - Porto Cesareo” per avviare campagne di sensibilizzazione della popolazione mirate a incrementare la consapevolezza del vivere civile e dell’educazione ambientale. Verrà effettuato anche un servizio di sensibilizzazione dinamica su tutta l’isola Grande al fine di prevenire eventuali cattive pratiche come: accensioni di fuochi, accampamenti, taglio di piante, abbandono di rifiuti, ecc.. Saranno organizzate, inoltre, nelle ore di tempo libero, escursioni sull’Isola Grande e sulla Penisola della Strea, visite guidate naturalistiche e del Museo di Biologia Marina “P. Parenzan”. In alcune giornate, gli adulti e i bambini saranno impegnati in due diverse attività e i bambini in quelle occasioni realizzeranno laboratori di biologia, botanica e archeologia, laboratori scientifici con l’uso del microscopio, laboratorio di malacologia. Durante il campo è prevista, inoltre, l’Installazione del pesce “Nemo Mangiaplastica” (struttura a forma di pesce in polipropilene unito ad altri materiali raccolti nelle varie pulizie delle spiagge che da anni realizziamo come Circolo) e successivo laboratorio in spiaggia sul riciclo creativo e sulla Marine Litter. Work: The meaning of the pilgrimage to St. Anna is to spread the work of Benediktus among people. Volunteers will help to prepare and implement the event. The pilgrimage starts with Holy Mass and includes food and drink stalls, countless games for children, live music, theatre and much more. The work tasks will include mowing and raking grass, carrying things, setting up tents, tables and benches, cleaning, cooking, baking, frying, accompanying people with disabilities at work and in their free time, attending community meetings, selling products, making banners or doing face painting. The work will not be physically demanding and does not re-quire any previous experience. Most of the work will be carried out outside, please, bring adequate boots and clothes that can get dirty and a raincoat.
Study part: As part of the pilgrimage, there will be a meeting with the general public and the volunteers will have the opportunity to present their culture, either in the form of theatre, fun games for children or making typical food. Other Czech and foreign volunteers also take part in the pilgrimage, with whom there will be an opportunity not only to work but also to spend free time together. During the workcamp, volunteers have a unique opportunity to learn about the life and work of people with and without disabilities in the L'Arche community.

The area consists of historically significant build-ings, which Benediktus reconstructs and uses for activities such as housing, work and cultural activities. Everywhere in the village, there is good phone coverage, nevertheless, the village is small so there are no services such as ATMs or pharmacies.
Leisure time: Modletin is located in the heart of the protected landscape area of the Iron Mountains that offers a wide range of activities: hiking, swimming in a nearby dam, mushroom picking, sightseeing in the area (castles, chateaux, historic villages, geomorphological formations, natural monuments), cultural events (concerts, exhibitions, openings). In the area of Benediktus it is also possible to play sports.

Accommodation for volunteers is located in the Benediktus complex in Modletin in the building of the former spa. It is a large attic room with a shower, two toilets and a kitchen. You will sleep on mattresses with sheets but bring your own sleeping bag. There is WIFI and a washing machine. Food will be provided by Benediktus (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and good coffee). By prior arrangement, volunteers can also cook for themselves in the kitchen in their accommodation. We welcome volunteers who want to participate in the preparation of Czech dishes or cook dishes from their countries.

This workcamp is organized in cooperation with the NGO Benediktus which is a community of people with and without disabilities. Benediktus provides social services, a daycare centre, social therapy workshops and sheltered housing, in order to involve people with disabilities in everyday life. Benediktus also creates sheltered jobs for people with altered working abilities such as drying fruits, cultivating a garden, organizing public events, or reconstructing historical buildings. The aim of the wokcamp is to help with the preparation and im-plementation of the largest annual cultural event, the pilgrimage to St. Anna, and to blur the lines between people regardless of their disability status. At this workcamp, you will actively contribute to the achievement of UN SDG10 Reduced Inequalities.

You will participate in the life of the festival supervised by the volunteers of the Crest Jazz association. You will help with the installation of the festival facilities : setting up the two scenes, the dressing rooms, the bar, the cafeteria, the offices. And at the end of the festival you will help dismantling and tidying up of all the equipment. During the festival, you will regularly clean the site and the toilets and will participate in the waste management by respecting the selective sorting. On certain evenings you will participate in the sale of drinks and souvenirs at the stands.The working hours are usually 3 to 4hours every mornings, but it can be variable depending on the teams needs. The rest of the time will be dedicated to leisure and group life.During the workcamp, your motivation is essential. The tasks on the festival can be physicals and messy (equipment transportation) but are essentials to the festival s success. You must be particularly dynamic, enthusiastic and ready to meet the public and the many volunteers present. This workcamp will allow you to discover the logistics necessary for the setting up and running of a festival. You will develop your capacities of adaptability, versatility and responsibility. Your dynamism and your reactivity will also be reinforced. A schedule will be given to you at the beginning of the project and will call upon your listening skills, your autonomy and your rigor. The group life will consolidate these human skills.

After last year s cleanup, you will take part in the enhancement of the ruins of the old chapel. You will carry out the consolidation works envisioned by the heritage architect in charge of the restoration. On the other hand, you will carry out devegetation work and repair the steps leading to the Saint Martin statue, located below the chapel. You will be guided by local volunteers who will be happy to work with you and share their love for their village. The work site is located 25/30 minutes walk from the village, across fields, on small paths. You will go by walk every morning, and your supervisors will drive you back at noon. Work in the morning 4 to 5 hours a day.

St Georges en Couzan is a village of 450 inhabitants, located in the Loire department near Feurs and Montbrison. The environment is extremely rural, so you will have plenty of time to discover French rural life and meet the people who are attached to it. This workcamp will enable you to acquire skills in small masonry (staircase refurbishment, mortar construction) as well as in landscaping maintenance. The accommodation conditions on the farm will be simple yet beds are provided. Please bring your sleeping bags. Toilets and showers are available. There is kitchen with all necessary equipment for cooking. Volunteers will be served food cooked by the hosts.

Special requirementsYou have to be open-minded and be ready to adapt to the simple conditions of the rural life and be ready for the farm work, which can be hard sometimes. Kriusilla Farm is one of them. This is the organic farm dealing with traditional bees-keeping and promoting sustainable lifestyle. So, this camp is proposed for volunteers who appreciate and share eco-values, want to learn more about it and to help hard working people. This camp follows positive experience of the camps for over 15 years.

ProgramCamp program includes teamwork on mini- projects, discussions at the round table, social and sport games, performances in the open air, actions for peace and nature protection, meetings with people, visits to museums and sightseeing as well as presentations of the countries that camp participants and volunteers represent, etc. Every day the camp will have a country presentation, a subject to learn or discuss and a related activity. Teenagers will stay in the camp activities zone from 10:00 to 17:00. There will be one day off in the camp and at least one day of travel outside Tallinn. The day off is spent either under the leadership of a member of the school staff or in the host family. Camp activities will take place in the premises of the language school that is situated in the very centre of the city of Tallinn. To activate teenagers and run the program, there will be a group of international volunteers and members of the local school staff. NB Please note that it is possible to apply for one or two weeks long project.

There are 2 options which are the subject to availability:1) In the host families of some of the local participants who will join this camp. The apartments of the host families may be located in Tallinn or its suburbs. Participants will stay in a separate or shared room. Participants will have breakfasts and dinners in their host families, lunches i together with other camp participants in the city. Travel cards will be provided, pick up service at arrival is provided upon request.2) In the premises of The Language School In Down-Town located on the 4th and 5th floors of a business building in the city centre. In summer time, a part of the school is reserved for the camp participants accommodation that includes several separate dormitory bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, a dining area, a large shower area and two separate toilet cabins. Apart from bedrooms, the tea-room for rest will be also organized where teenagers might watch films, read and play board games enjoying soft sofas. Bed linen, pillows and blankets will be provided, so you do NOT need to bring a sleeping bag unless you want so. For the reasons of security, one school staff member and one volunteer will be staying with camp participants overnights to maintain domestic life, catering and general order on the site. Participants will have breakfasts and dinners at school, lunches i together with other camp participants.Please note: it is not possible to stay at any of the camp accommodation before or after the camp. If you need a place to stay before or after the camp dates, we can help you to book a hostel in Tallinn.

Special requirementsEnglish is the camp language. The age of participants is 14 i 16. To assure a safe environment for all the campers, we expect all our camp participants will provide their parents letter of consent (Parental Authorization) and travel insurance certificate, and will have been fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 disease or declared recovered (a certificate is needed in both cases). Other necessary safety procedures and requirements must be fully undertaken and met in accordance with the Estonian national anti-COVID measures for minors that may apply at the moment of your arrival.Participation feeUnlike the traditional voluntary camp, there will be no work but mostly informal educational activities and guided language practice. Camp program implementation involves costs for boarding and lodging, domestic transport, materials, excursions, visits, cultural activities and general administration. Since neither EstYES, nor its partner ALPS receives any financial support for this camp from state or municipality, to make the camp happened we have to charge participation fee which is 320 Euro for 1 week long program or 550 Euro for 2 weeks long program. This is a separate fee different from your country sending organization s fee which you pay at home. It has to be paid by participants upon arrival to the camp or by bank transfer prior to the start of the camp.

International language camp is organized for teenagers by The Language School In Down Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALPS) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. The project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to the youth and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication by means of alternative English language practice which includes meetings, visits, direct contact to young people from abroad. The project gets 14 to 16 years old teens from all over the world, encourages them to develop their global thinking and individual initiative, tolerance and resistance to xenophobia and ethnic hatred. Camps give foreign participants a great chance to meet youngsters both from Estonia and other countries as well as to experience local life. The theme of summer 2023 is Skills for Life . The participants will discover why it is of a great value to be a skillful person either in the professional or emotional sphere, how the life skills are integrated in our everyday habits helping us to build up strong personal relationships and successful professional career, to support peaceful diplomacy and global sustainable development, and how to become one of those happy people. Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Thematic photo and video contests for camp participants will be organized.
