This project is actively working for SDG 1 (No poverty) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with Green Volunteers for Green Future (GV4GF) since 2012 (since 2023 in this place!). Total area was a tea plantation until Independence (in 1948) and after that government took the administration. Some parts were abandoned and some parts distributed among people. This is a kind of traditional village; some families are living here more than 100 years. Agriculture and Tea plantation is the main livelihoods in this area. People who have no lands to cultivate are engaging other domestic livelihoods such as, packeting and distribute spices, mushroom plantation etc. Very few people are working at the city or for government. This area is not a popular destination among the locals or foreigners because of difficulty to access common facilities. After covid pandemic community are trying to reestablish their agricultural work and other livelihoods. Not only pandemic, but also economic crisis impacted every sector in Sri Lanka. These sectors are trying to reestablish their own work but they need external assistances to continue their work. We are going to help domestic level livelihoods running by villagers. While visiting community, volunteers can experience real life of Sri Lanka and experience the nature of the local life. Community can get awareness about lifestyle of developed countries that they cannot experienced in their local lives.
SEEDS programme combines learning, sharing, hands-on activities, getting to know Iceland, its culture, having fun, exploring the city and its attractions, as stunning natural attractions in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and should be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances during activities and sightseeing. Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact. One of the two options below is also included in this camp as a hands-on volunteering activity day:1. A day trip to the Hot River area, combined with a cleanup or work with an environmental project in the area, or2. A day trip to the Reykjanes peninsula, combined with a coastal cleanup in the area.

Work & Activities :- Most important target of the project is to bring smile among these children and
provide confidence and moral support to them .Volunteer would use different way of informal
education technique to present a unique and attractive way of informal education programs for these
kids .Most of these kids speaks local Bengali /Hindi language but they are very smart and intelligent,
so teaching them with the support of local coordinator would not be so difficult ,just little bit of
patience and involvement can solve this problem easily. All volunteers would go through orientation
after arrival and local language classes also would be there during camp days. There would also be a
workshop every evening when volunteers would prepare the next day lesson plan of action .
Volunteers would also help local coordinator in other activities like giving shower food distribution,
organising drama, story telling and entertainment games for the children.whole camp would be run
under the supervision ofexperienced local project coordinator. SMILE society always tries to give
international volunteers a big scope to know about the local communities and understand the family
environment.

work:-
Target Group for these camps:- Helping Children from the street( mostly refugees) between 3-12
years old, of India to get basic education, vocational and hygienic training etc. Daily hundreds of
children receives support at our different centres around the state of West Bengal. .
Project Back ground :- India having uncountable numbers of street and slum dwellers . There are
thousands of poor refugees coming every year from nearby countries and from different small towns
and villages to the big cities and most of these families are living in a very poorly condition at slums
and street corners . These families bring their children to help them in begging ,household work ,rag
picking activities, even some girls been forcibly thrown to the dark life of prostitution. So it is really a
shame of the so called civilised societies where we belong . We have got our ongoing projects for
these unfortunate street children at the different locations of big cities. Now there are opportunities
available for international youth volunteers as well to help and support these unfortunate girls and
mothers of the street children in and around.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming Ohenro (pilgrims) who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting Kakurin-ji temple; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for omotenashi (hospitality). Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

Over water - over land: this is the name of Europe's first cross-border sculpture trail. You will take care of several sculptures on the German-Swiss sculpture trail and restore them to their original state. Weather and people have left their mark: The stone of the sculptures needs to be brushed to remove moss and lichen, and some sculptures are also sprayed with graffiti. For others, the subsurface needs to be renewed or maintained. The explanatory plates for the objects will also be replaced. In addition, you will completely renew the barbecue area, which is part of the 9km long trail. This area is intended to invite people to combine arts, nature and community.

In 2000, 12 internationally renowned artists realised ideas and thoughts on the theme of borders - dividing and uniting - in sculptures. Embedded in the marvellous landscape of the High Rhine, this path is a cultural symbol of friendship and connects the places on both sides of the river and the German-Swiss border. https://skulpturenweg.de/
Now, almost 25 years after its construction, the sculpture trail needs some maintenance. The citizens of Hohentengen would be delighted if this is done with the help of international volunteers completely in the spirit of the path's artistic message.

It will offer different stations where visitors can learn and experience about nature and sustainability … very creative, surprising and funny! – There will be physical work, using tools and working with materials like wood, rocks, soil. You will work outdoors most of the time. Volunteers who like to exercise can make firewood.
Every year, volunteers are invited to get to know the local Perma Culture garden and do some gardening there. While looking after the plants, there is the possibility to harvest fruits.
