ProgramCamp program includes team projects, discussions at the round table, social and sport games, performances in the open air, actions for peace and nature protection, meetings with people, visits to museums and sightseeing as well as presentations of the countries that camp participants and volunteers represent, etc. Every day the camp will have a country presentation, a subject to learn or discuss and a related activity. Teenagers will stay in the camp activities zone from 10:00 to 17:00. There will be one day off in the camp and at least one day of travel outside Tallinn. The day off is spent either under the leadership of a member of the school staff or in the host family. Camp activities will take place in the premises of the language school that is situated in the very centre of the city. To activate teenagers and run the program, there will be a group of international volunteers and members of the local school staff. Longer camp shifts include one trip outside Tallinn.

AccommodationThere are 2 options possible (subject to availability, which will become clear by the beginning of the camp):1) In the premises of The Language School In Down-Town located on the 4th and 5th floors of a business building in the city centre. In summer time, a part of the school is reserved for the camp participants accommodation that includes several separate dormitory bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, a dining area, a large shower area and two separate toilet cabins. Apart from bedrooms, the tea-room for rest will be also organized where teenagers might watch films, read and play board games enjoying soft sofas. Bed linen, pillows and blankets will be provided, so you do NOT need to bring a sleeping bag unless you want so. For the reasons of security, minimum one school staff member and one volunteer will be staying with camp participants overnights to maintain life, catering and general order on the site. To facilitate a smooth and safe environment at school during the off-hours, the entrance to the school must be kept closed at all times. The access to the school and accommodation areas will be managed by long-term volunteers or school staff. Please be aware that you must be inside by 22:00 the latest unless supervised outside by a school staff member. Participants will have breakfasts and dinners at school, lunches i together with other camp participants.2) In the host families of some of local participants who will join this camp. The apartments of the host families may be located in Tallinn or its suburbs. Participants will stay in a separate or shared room. You do NOT need a sleeping bag. Participants will have breakfasts and dinners in their host families, lunches i together with other camp participants in the city. Travel cards will be provided, pick up service at arrival is provided upon request.Please note: it is not possible to stay at any of the camp accommodation options before or after the camp arrival and departure days. Special requirementsWe will welcome any ideas to improve the program and your active participation in it. English is the camp language. The age of international camp participants is 14 i 16. Please be aware that during the day program of the camp the participants will be asked to leave their cell phones at their accommodation site to ensure safety of the participants and their engagement with the camp activities. To assure a safe environment for all the campers, we expect all our camp participants will provide their parents letter of consent (Parental Authorization) and travel insurance certificate.Participation feeUnlike the traditional voluntary camp, there will be mostly informal educational activities and guided language practice. Camp program implementation involves costs for boarding and lodging, domestic transport, materials, excursions, visits, cultural activities and general administration. Since neither EstYES, nor its partner ALPS receive any financial support for this camp from state or municipality, to make the camp happen we have to charge a participation fee from 350 to 600 Euro depending on the duration of the camp shift. This is a separate fee that is different from your country sending organization s fee you pay at home. International language camp is organized for teenagers by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALP S) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. The project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to the youth and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication by means of alternative English language practice which includes meetings, visits and direct contacts to young people from abroad. The project gets teens of 14 to 16 years old familiar with national traditions of the countries from all over the world, encourages them to develop their global thinking and individual initiative, tolerance and resistance to xenophobia and ethnic hatred. Camps give foreign participants a great chance to meet youngsters both from Estonia and other countries as well as to experience local life. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Camp participants will gain ideas and skills how to deal with a million of combinations of the world s reality.Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Thematic photo and video contests for camp participants will be organized.

Gönüllü Hizmetler Derneği-Childhood Dreams program, organized for children between the ages of 10-14 with limited access, is a social content and child-themed workcamp. A volunteer team consisting of foreign and Turkish volunteers will run a 1-week camp program with under state care children. The program content, activities to be done with the children and the organization of the volunteer team will be planned by the Childhood Dreams camp leader. The camp has been running successfully since 2009 with the same theme.

Kalben Children's Village was established by Kalben Association in 2024. The village is on an island in Balıkesir (city). It is possible to organize activities such as swimming and walking tours on the island as part of the program for volunteers.

Accommodation will be in shared rooms in the children's village building, male and female volunteers stay in separate rooms. Meals will be prepared and served by the host organization.

Guanglong Community is located in the southeastern part of Taiping District at the foot of Chelongpu Mountain Range. It is bordered to the north by Xinglong Village, to the south by Yonglong Village, and to the west by Changyi Village, with the Toubiankeng River serving as the natural boundary. With an area of 3.1059 square kilometers, it is a village that was reborn after experiencing the horrible quake happened in Sep. 21st 1999.This project aims to provide a meaningful holiday experience by pairing volunteers with children in need of guidance and support in their learning journey. Participants will engage in activities such as reading, tutoring, and creative workshops, fostering an encouraging environment for the kids growth and development. Aims:Taiping District is a peripheral area of Taichung City, and Guanglong. Village is a quiet community located in the Chelongpu region of Taiping.Due to the scarcity and unequal distribution of resources, children have limited access to education, particularly in English learning environments. This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with Sansonjuku since 2008. This project has been organized with Sansonjuku, founded in 1994, maintaining forest and step rice paddies through the projects which involves people from the city and local. They started 80-days of international workcamp with NICE since 2008 to make the footpath and maintain the forest. But on July 2012, the hardest rain ever attacked around this area. After that it had serious damages by flood. Their aim is to activate the community and sustain the program with young people from the world to conserve this rich nature and revival this area!

During the camp volunteers will do many different activities, from planting an alley of flowers and mowing the lawns, to sanding and painting wooden sculptures in the local park, then prepare the ground for the new statue in the Memorial Park. In the landscape house, for wooden objects protective material will be used in order to preserve the texture. If time allows, there will be a space to create new totems and put them in the park.
Also, this year the volunteers will help in making of 5m high vantage point.

Totovo Selo is a picturesque village with almost completely Hungarian population in the Kanjiža municipality, in the North Banat District, Vojvodina province. It is surrounded by natural beauty with beautiful fields and friendly hosts. Settlement was founded at the end of the 19th century. The name "Totovo Selo" (literally- Tot's village) comes from Tót József, at that time (at the threshold of the 20th century) wealthy local landlord, who donated 72 houses without any compensation dividing his property among his wage-earners and workers.
One of the most interesting attractions there is the model of the Danube, which is built together with the former participants of the camp. In the village there are 5 parks, a barn, an autochthonous Hungarian breed of sheep and a farmhouse. In the village, there are few festivals that are organized every year (a kettle and brandy festival, a festival of folk customs, to mention just those...).
Few excursions to the surrounding places and towns will be organized (including going to the beach at river Tisa).
Please bring a positive attitude, meeting people from other cultures of this Serbian-Hungarian village is really important to the host.

The accommodation will be in a local boarding house in rooms with 2-5 beds and a bathroom. Bedding is provided. Meals are provided in the dining hall of the local centre, 3 times a day. Also, the dinners will be made with the help of everyone in the courtyard of the boarding house, with local traditional food.
Keep in mind that there might probably be a very limited internet connection, but we will see what can be done to use it from the locals without their permission (no, no, we will try to find alternatives, don't worry).

The main task is harvesting various berries and vegetables such as rhubarb, currants, raspberries, Japanese quince, then helping juice making and products packaging. But there is also weed control and fertilization with mulch in plantations, mowing grass, cutting branches, removal of bushes and wood chipping, assistance in the construction of various small buildings, vegetable beds and other necessary structures on the site, painting as well. And there is ongoing work of planting seeds. Working hours are 5-7 hours a day for 5 days a week. The exact work depends on season and partly on weather conditions.

LocationThe farm is located in Kanepi municipality just 11 km from Otepaa and 47 km from Tartu. When coming from Tartu, choose a bus to Voru and get off at the Saverna stop. Buses stop there quite often, travel takes about 40 minutes. Also you can come through Otepaa. Knowing you arrival time and place hosts will pick you up from there. Bus information is on www.tpilet.ee or www.luxexpress.ee. The farm is located in the tiny village of Aiaste. It is important to understand that it is calm and quiet place (there are no events in the village). But with nice weather, it is possible to watch animals like deer on the field, foxes in a strawberry bed and storks. While sitting by the fire at night, enjoy stars in the sky and listen to the nature sounds by animals such as badgers or raccoons.Leisure timeIt is possible to swim, make a fire, play volleyball, disc golf and other games or go for mushroom picking if you like it. There is a swimming lake in Valgjarv 4 km away. You can use various hiking trails. If interested you can visit nearby farms where you can get to know horses, sheep and other animals and see many other interesting things. Farm life conditions are simple but decent. Sleeping is in a separate house in beds. Bed sheets, blankets and pillows are provided, so no need for sleeping bag. There is outdoor kitchen with all necessary equipment. Volunteers can make breakfast and lunch themselves, and dinner will be prepared by and taken with the family. Washing is in the sauna. There is a dry organic toilet. Volunteers have to take care of their surroundings by cleaning up after themselves.

Organic farm Kingu is one of them. This is a berry, fruit and vegetable micro-farm in the South Estonia. The main berry crops are raspberries, various currants, gooseberries, Japanese quince, garlic and rhubarb. Everything is grown in an environmentally sustainable way using straw and hay. The farm promotes sustainable lifestyle, and this camp is proposed for volunteers who appreciate and share its values, want to learn more and to help hard working people in country side.NB It is possible to stay for several shifts in a row.

The main task of this workcamp is the reconstruction of the historical wall that once was the edge of the horse stable of the property. The work of reconstructing a wall is not too exhausting and is suitable for all ages; patience and determination are key qualities. Tasks include repairing joints with crumbling mortar, replacing stones that were removed due to overgrown vegetation, and performing minor maintenance work such as painting windows, pruning overgrowth around the building, collecting and transporting waste to a container, and digging trenches. Working boots are essential, and we recommend taking a headlamp or other flashlight.

Location: The workcamp takes place in Janovice near Rymarov in a protected landscape area of the Jeseniky mountains. Janovice is a small village with 670 inhabitants located in the foothills of Praded Mountain (the highest peak of Jeseniky Mountains). There is a grocery store in the village and a good phone reception everywhere. The closest ATMs and pharmacies are located in the nearby town of Rymarov.
Leisure time: The foothills of the Jeseníky Mountains are home to many remarkable sites, though most require some travel. Highlights include Karlova Studánka, a unique mountain spa with well-preserved 18th-century architecture; Sovinec Castle; Praděd, the highest mountain in Moravia; and the largest waterfalls in northern Moravia. For those looking to stay closer, there are plenty of scenic spots within walking distance that offer breathtaking mountain panoramas. Additionally, on the chateau grounds, visitors can explore an exhibition by the National Heritage Institute inside the chateau building.
Study part: Volunteers will start the workcamp with the workshop "Historic Stone Wall Restoration". There will be the possibility to have a guided tour of the castle including a tour around the brewery, visit the local museum, the brocade production exhibition, or the region's outstanding Baroque sacred monument. The local partner will organize a meeting with the local community. For example, you might get the chance to meet a local sculptor, a teacher, a jewelry maker using a 3D printer, or even a world champion in whip cracking!

You will be accommodated in an apartment directly in the brewery. The apartment consists of a fully equipped kitchen, a living room, a bathroom with a shower and 2 toilets. Volunteers can sleep in the living room or there is also another smaller bedroom. Volunteers will sleep together, some on mattresses with blankets and pillows, others on sleeping mats in sleeping bags. Bring your sleeping bag and a mat (a small pillow is always useful). The washing machine, dryer, hairdryer, shower gels and shampoos are available. Wifi is also available. The volunteers will cook the meals together in the fully equipped kitchen from the provided ingredients. Vegan and vegetarian meals are possible.

This workcamp is organized in cooperation with the Association for the Renovation of the Brewery in Janovice. In 2018 the association took over a 200-year-old neglected brewery in the village of Janovice, northern Moravia. The workcamp aims to reconstruct, revitalize, and clean up the old brewery to fulfill the association’s long-term goal—transforming it into a cultural center for the residents of Janovice. While the brewery’s renovation is an ongoing process, volunteers this year won’t be directly involved in ground breaking or community defining moments. Instead, they will have the opportunity to connect with local professionals and enthusiasts who support the project. The former women's concentration camp Ravensbruck was built in 1939 near the small town of Furstenberg/Havel. Until its liberation in April 1945, over 120,000 women and children, 20,000 men and 1,000 underage young women from the so-called "Uckermark Youth Protection Camp" were imprisoned there. The prisoners came from more than 40 nations. They had to perform forced labor in various sectors, e.g. for SS factories or the Siemens company. Their daily lives were marked by hunger, mistreatment and poor hygienic conditions. Tens of thousands of prisoners were killed. Today, the Ravensbruck Memorial preserves traces and records, promotes remembering and research, and creates a place for active learning and encounters. Every year, international work camps are organized in cooperation with the memorial.

You will work together with the ?LEiV? (Verein Lebende Erde) which is a landscape protector group in the European NATURA2000-site ?Teile des Sudoststeirischen Hugellandes?. You will work on the meadows to collect the hay and in the woodlands to clean them from neophytes. The core idea is to assist the organisation with the traditional art of work that aims to preserve the area and its wildlife.
You will also help at the European-Roller Festival (a protected bird from the region). Moreover, you will have excursions to the wonderful protected species living on the side and visit the Mur-river for rafting.

Zhongli District in Taoyuan City was originally settled by the Hakka people. The valley formed by a stream was called Li in the Hakka language, and the location surrounded by Laojie River and Xinjie River was named Jianzai . During the Japanese colonial period, the area was renamed Zhongli Street , which became the main road connecting the north and south.The area near the Laojie River(32769;34903;28330;) is known as the Laojie District , and it is home to Japanese-style buildings, century-old shops, Hakka culture, and the Laojie River which has greatly influenced the local way of life. Unfortunately, with the passing of time, many local youths and immigrants are no longer familiar with the historical context of this area. The main task for volunteers is to deal with teenagers, providing cross-cultural learning experience for them as well as English language environment. This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming "Ohenro (pilgrims)" who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting "Kakurin-ji temple"; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for "omotenashi (hospitality)". Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

This project is actively working for SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with Ohara Eco Project (OEP) since 2009. There were 600 inhabitants in Ohara village with 90 houses 100 years ago, but now only 1 elder! OEP was founded by the local people in 2006 and has rehabilitated 7 houses of cultural heritage. They maintain and revive the trails and fields, organize the workcamps with NICE and run various eco tours, so got the best prize in the award of Creating Home Town by the national government in 2016! The family workcamp started since 2013 (President of NICE keeps joining as a leader with his kids) and hosted a lot of families from Japan, Asia, Europe and Americas with great success.

After two years spent restoring the interior walls of the church, the aim of this project is to continue renovating the walls of the Saint-Jacques-et-Saint-Philippe church in Buxerolles. The church dates back to the 11th century, but the walls have been plastered with cement, which has led to poor drainage of moisture and created saltpetre. Accompanied by a specialist technical supervisor, you will first have to remove the plaster from the walls, then dehumidify the walls, and finish by plastering them with lime. Other traditional masonry work will give you a chance to familiarise yourself with these techniques. Come with work clothes or clothes that may be damaged or soiled. We will provide you with safety equipment. No qualifications are required for this project. You will work 4 to 5 hours a day.

Help us to create pallet outdoor furniture for the commune of Les Mureaux, creating a cheerful, welcoming environment for local residents!
The city of Les Mureaux has a number of social and youth structures that are essential for social action at family level, and for the city's cultural activities. The aim of the project will be to create an outdoor living room using recycled wooden street furniture, so that it can once again become a welcoming and convivial space for the community, and in particular for the neighborhood's young people! Workshops will be organised to raise awareness of sustainable development, as well as workshops with children and many community visits.

Les Mureaux is a suburban town with a population of 32,000 in the northern Yvelines region, just under an hour from Paris. Civic activities include a visit to the Musee de l'Immigration in Paris, a meeting with the NGO Terre d'Asile, Refugee Food, the Chateau de Versailles and the Amarres third place center. Social events in Les Mureaux and Paris are planned throughout the workcamp.

You will be accommodated in a hard-standing building (gymnasium, school or social center) with hard-standing toilets and showers. Lunches and dinners will be cooked collectively, i.e. you will take it in turns to cook for all the volunteers. Weekday lunches will be taken in the canteen. A budget will be allocated to the leaders for the shopping in which you will participate, giving priority to healthy and local products, and vegetarian products. Wifi will not be available at the mission site and at the accommodation site. There is no washing machine but laundries are accessible in town if needed, 4?.

Organized by the Yamato Traditional Fishing Weir Preservation Association, the first-class river Enogawa, also known as "Chugoku Taro," flows through the Tsuga area of Misato. This is the only area along the "Gono River" where the fishing method known as "Yana fishing" is still practiced. The co-organizing organizations are dedicated to preserving this fishing method for future generations, which led to the establishment of the new preservation association in 2020.
"Yana fishing" is a traditional fishing method in Japan, where a fish trap called "yana" is set up in a river to catch fish. The yana is a type of fish weir or net placed in the river's flow, and fish are captured as they swim into it. This fishing technique is still practiced in some regions of Japan.
You can learn about the ecology of sweet fish (ayu) and rivers while also being involved in rural tourism development and regional revitalization.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 10 (Reduced Inequalities), organized together with Kyodo Gakusha (since 2015 here), a cooperative community where about people with various backgrounds such as mentally disadvantaged, people who are tired of city life, who wants to learn farming, just want to live in the nature, etc. They have 5 communities in Tokyo, Nagano and Hokkaido and grow animals and vegetables in an ecological, organic way with utilizing bacterium and charcoal. Tateya Farm has 40 members and NICE started LMTV projects here since 2014. NICE also organizes workcamps and LMTV projects in Maki and Shintoku farms of Kyodo Gakusha.
*Outcome of this workcamp: In 2023, 1 mid term volunteer for 2 months greatly contributed to harvest rice which was difficult to finish by the time they needed without volunteers! There was also nice exchange between Community people and vols. through Yoga and Mindfulness. Volunteers will help their organic farm (harvesting/ threshing rice, planting vegetables, taking care of animals, etc.) and their house work especially cooking. Volunteers will also carry the things in the mountain to the Maki farm and harvest rice there. Be ready to work for quite a long time (05:30-18:00 with some brakes) and hard. It'd be surely good exercise to make your body more healthy!

Otari village is a small village located in the region of stunning natural beauty in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture, Japan. It is beautiful village near “Japanese Northern Alps”. It takes 40-50 min. by foot from Minami-Otari, the nearest train station. Other activities - Exchange program, Excursion on a free day (possibly to Hakuba, a famous tourism spot), etc.

Shared room in the building for the volunteers and a few members, 5 min. walk from the farm. Meals will be cooked by volunteers together with the community people by turns. Sleeping bag is not necessary. There is limited Wifi.
Requisiti e materiali
Motivation letter is needed. Volunteers need to have good level of speaking for the daily conversations of English or Japanese and and high motivation and patience to keep the hard, long and important work in the natural place, to respect the way of the local host and to learn and speak Japanese language is needed. No special skills nor experiences are needed. Language - English (Japanese is also welcomed!)

Many songs and poems have been written and a lot of films were made about friends. Science is also investigating the phenomenon of ‘friendship’: BCYIQNCPLG - these are the basic building blocks of the hormone oxytocin, which our body releases when we feel a sense of friendship and security. But can friendship be reduced to such a simple formula? What is behind this feeling? How many friends do we actually need? Is friendship good for your health?
You will become friendship researchers and share stories of trust, comfort, longing and perhaps also betrayal. Together you will work on small scenes using role play, character work, interaction and improvisation. Your own creative ideas and the results of your research will be turned into a play under the guidance of a theatre teacher, which will then be performed in front of an audience.

Bicycles are available for excursions and shopping. The town of Bad Gandersheim is 4 km away. At the weekend, excursions by train to Alfeld (Faguswerk World Heritage Site), Hildesheim, Hannover, Göttingen or Goslar (historic old town and Rammelsberg Mine World Heritage Site) are well worthwhile.

At the Weltbühne Heckenbeck cultural centre. Bedrooms, kitchen, common room, use of the garden. Large theatre hall for rehearsals and performances. You will cook together. Money for food will be provided. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please state any intolerances during registration.
Requisiti e materiali
For the theatre workshop you need good English language skills and comfortable clothing: trousers and trainers or other shoes in which you can walk comfortably.
You must be able to ride a bike.

The "Weltbühne" (world stage) in Heckenbeck, a small place with only 450 inhabitants, is a cultural centre with a large theatre space in a former village inn. Every year, the local population look forward to an international theatre project and will happily host the international group of this workcamp for 2 weeks. Together with young people from other countries, you will explore the topic of ‘friendship’ in the theatre workshop.
The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949.
