Maki and Tateya and grow animals and vegetables in an ecological, organic way.
Maki is located in a very isolated area (not accessible for cars and we have to walk 4 km in the mountains!), so it once became an abandon village in 1970s and then, was revived by Kyodo Gakusha. Over 10 people incl. 2 families were living till several years ago, but less and less in these years (almost nobody in the winter), so vols. are needed even more!
*Outcome of this workcamp: In 2023, we had 4 short term workcamps and 1 LMTV project with 13 vols. who greatly contributed to their protecting the houses, farming and caring animals that was difficult to finish by the time they needed without volunteers! Since the school is regarded as place where many important activities are happening, it is also notable that many local organizations have strong connection with it. The same will be in this case, as well. Since the project can be defined only by 3 areas on this platform, we can't describe everything that will happen, but here we can write more on that. Volunteers will do many tasks in cooperation with many associations in Požega. With those of social character, it will be decided which families are in need for additional support, so that volunteers can help to those in danger with their regular activities. Then there will be some visit to the local association for those with cerebral paralysis (help and workshops should be done there). Also, volunteers will be participating in the activities with local Gerontological center, where they will take care of the garden, but also meet older people that will be glad to see the guests. Still, we shouldn't forget that there will be things to do in school's yard, as well, with picking up the raspberries (one of the Serbian national fruits) and blackberries (another among many; Serbia is simply the land of fruits). Planting seeds, taking out the bad plants, feeding the animals-just few of planned actions that will be done during the stay in this marvellous place.

Požega is a cute place in rich with nature territory of Western Serbia. It has nice center where volunteers can feel the real town atmosphere (it is very alive, especially during the summer). Still, the school itself is located a little bit outside of it, surrounded by parks, so the volunteers can have free time to relax. School has sports fields for recreation. The town has swimming pool, so maybe some hot days can be spent there.
There is possibility to have certain excursions in the area, but more on that will be provided in the Infosheet.
The only thing we will recommend to take with you on this adventure is patience and smile and it will be an eternal pleasant memory!

The volunteers will be accommodated in the school dormitory in the rooms with 2-3 beds and bathroom (practically-3 stars hotel). Linen will be provided.
Food will be prepared together in the kitchen of the dormitory. The workshops on making Serbian traditional meals will be organized several times.
Requisiti e materiali
There are no specific requirements, but if you want to make your life easier, bring sunscreen, adequate clothes and mosquito repellent as it gets hot and humid during the summer in Serbia.

NEAREST STATION: Although there is local airport in Kraljevo relatively close to Požega, the airport of Belgrade is the most probable option, since it has connection with the whole world (Kraljevo only to Thessaloniki, Istanbul, Vienna and Tivat). Agricultural high school is founded in 1956. and from that moment it works constantly with youth on important topic like the producing food is. The school is regional center and it offers many opportunities for those who need to obtain certain knowledges in the field of plant and animal treatments. Since 2002. it aims to modernize its methods, so that is why they try to participate in many different projects, in order to give to the local youth wider perspectives on life.
Young Researchers of Serbia (YRS) was founded in 1976. Our main aims are environmental protection and education, promotion of sustainable development, work with young people in an international context, promotion of scientific creativity and voluntarism and its values. Organize with the "Shiki International Exchange Association". Last time was held in 2019. 2025, they restart this program. "Shiki International Exchange Association" is an organisation in Shiki City, Saitama Prefecture, which aims to promote international exchange between foreigners and Japanese people. It connects foreigners who want to learn Japanese culture and language, and people who want to talk and socialise with foreigners. International workcamps are organised to provide international exchange programmes for children during their summer holidays. In the last edition, 10 children's programmes were held over a two weeks period.

Kriusilla is a small farm dealing with beekeeping, vegetables growing and forestry. Volunteers will be doing some forestry work (cleaning and weeding forestry, planting trees, building wood construction) but also harvesting vegetables, collecting honey, cleaning and improving bee houses, possibly helping to build new ones. There can be also some light odd jobs in the house, building and gardening. The working day will be 5-7 hours depending on weather conditions.

Short trips in the area are planned by hosts. It is easy and quite possible to go to Tallinn on your own in the free time to enjoy its attraction and numerous opportunities flourishing in summer period. Besides there will be some local festivities in the villages nearby www.voose.ee; www.viikingitekyla.ee ; www.korvemaa.ee/en ; https://anijamois.ee/ which can be attended together with the hosts.The first shift in June coincides with Mid-Summer Festival, which is the largest celebration in Estonia, so those joining it can experience this Estonian ancient tradition.

The accommodation conditions on the farm will be simple but decent. Beds are provided. Please bring your sleeping bags. Toilets and showers are available. There is kitchen with all necessary equipment for cooking. Volunteers will be served food cooked by the hosts but are asked to assist cleaning.

The work involves cleaning the items on display at the museum with a vacuum cleaner and brushes. These items will be moved from a storage room to outdoor tents so that the floor there can be repaired and new storage shelves can be put up. The volunteers work is to clean these ethnographic items, which are quite dusty and black as they have not been accessed. They include, for example, carts, wooden utensils, children s beds, large wooden sieves, threshing machines and other larger items typical of Estonian rural life. The work takes place outdoors under tents on the territory of the Open Air Museum. Working hours will be from 10 to 16 with a lunch break from 13 to 14. Saturday will be free. All necessary tools, gloves, protective masks and glasses will be provided. Volunteers will be working along side with local workers of the museum.

LocationThe museum is located 8 km to the west of Tallinn city center at Rocca al Mare district. It lies in the forest at the seashore. There is a regular public bus connection with the city centre. Tallinn is the capital of Estonia, the largest city of the country with a population of 450 000 inhabitants. Leisure timeBesides guided and free exploration of the museum and joining activities they offer in this period you can enjoy summer in the Old Town of Tallinn or at the seaside. Volunteers will be given travel card to be used in public transport around Tallinn unlimited after their working hours. In summer Tallinn has especially vibrant life with hundreds of activities and attractions for all tastes.

The Estonian Open Air Museum (Eesti Vabaohumuuseum) is a life-sized reconstruction of an 18th-19th century rural/ fishing village, which includes church, tavern, schoolhouse, several mills, a fire station, twelve farmyards and net sheds. Furthermore, it includes a recently opened 20th century Soviet kolkhoz apartment building. The site spans 72 hectares of land and along with the farmyards, old public buildings are arranged singularly and in groups in a way that represents an overview of Estonian vernacular architecture of the past two centuries from across Estonia. Besides the mission of preservation and presenting the history of Estonian country side, the museum keeps historical cultural traditions running various activities all year around, offering tours and educational programs for families, school children and guests from abroad. This is a very popular place to visit not only for tourist but very much for local people. Obviously, the museum has thousands of exhibits related to rural life as it was centuries ago. This year they have an ambitious plan of revision and cleaning of those kept in the storage, and volunteers are invited to help out this important task. Immerse yourself in medieval adventure by working with the team of local volunteers: set up the installations, run the stands, cook and contribute to the success of the fair! This job combines technical skills, physical strength and organization. You'll help set up and dismantle stalls, tents, and barnums. You'll contribute to the signage, traffic plan and layout. Take care of general fair logistics, including cooking and cleaning. Run stands such as the bar, pancake stand and much more. ProgramCamp program includes team projects, discussions at the round table, social and sport games, performances in the open air, actions for peace and nature protection, meetings with people, visits to museums and sightseeing as well as presentations of the countries that camp participants and volunteers represent, etc. Every day the camp will have a country presentation, a subject to learn or discuss and a related activity. Teenagers will stay in the camp activities zone from 10:00 to 17:00. There will be one day off in the camp and at least one day of travel outside Tallinn. The day off is spent either under the leadership of a member of the school staff or in the host family. Camp activities will take place in the premises of the language school that is situated in the very centre of the city. To activate teenagers and run the program, there will be a group of international volunteers and members of the local school staff. Longer camp shifts include one trip outside Tallinn.

AccommodationThere are 2 options possible (subject to availability, which will become clear by the beginning of the camp):1) In the premises of The Language School In Down-Town located on the 4th and 5th floors of a business building in the city centre. In summer time, a part of the school is reserved for the camp participants accommodation that includes several separate dormitory bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, a dining area, a large shower area and two separate toilet cabins. Apart from bedrooms, the tea-room for rest will be also organized where teenagers might watch films, read and play board games enjoying soft sofas. Bed linen, pillows and blankets will be provided, so you do NOT need to bring a sleeping bag unless you want so. For the reasons of security, minimum one school staff member and one volunteer will be staying with camp participants overnights to maintain life, catering and general order on the site. To facilitate a smooth and safe environment at school during the off-hours, the entrance to the school must be kept closed at all times. The access to the school and accommodation areas will be managed by long-term volunteers or school staff. Please be aware that you must be inside by 22:00 the latest unless supervised outside by a school staff member. Participants will have breakfasts and dinners at school, lunches i together with other camp participants.2) In the host families of some of local participants who will join this camp. The apartments of the host families may be located in Tallinn or its suburbs. Participants will stay in a separate or shared room. You do NOT need a sleeping bag. Participants will have breakfasts and dinners in their host families, lunches i together with other camp participants in the city. Special requirementsWe will welcome any ideas to improve the program and your active participation in it. English is the camp language. The age of international camp participants is 14 i 16. Please be aware that during the day program of the camp the participants will be asked to leave their cell phones at their accommodation site to ensure safety of the participants and their engagement with the camp activities. To assure a safe environment for all the campers, we expect all our camp participants will provide their parents letter of consent (Parental Authorization) and travel insurance certificate.Participation feeUnlike the traditional voluntary camp, there will be mostly informal educational activities and guided language practice. Camp program implementation involves costs for boarding and lodging, domestic transport, materials, excursions, visits, cultural activities and general administration. Since neither EstYES, nor its partner ALPS receive any financial support for this camp from state or municipality, to make the camp happen we have to charge a participation fee from 350 to 600 Euro depending on the duration of the camp shift. International language camp is organized for teenagers by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALP S) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. The project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to the youth and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication by means of alternative English language practice which includes meetings, visits and direct contacts to young people from abroad. The project gets teens of 14 to 16 years old familiar with national traditions of the countries from all over the world, encourages them to develop their global thinking and individual initiative, tolerance and resistance to xenophobia and ethnic hatred. Camps give foreign participants a great chance to meet youngsters both from Estonia and other countries as well as to experience local life. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Camp participants will gain ideas and skills how to deal with a million of combinations of the world s reality.Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Thematic photo and video contests for camp participants will be organized.

ProgramThere are diverse activities in the camp program: canoeing, water scootering, running ATV, paintball in the forest, sport games - football, rugby, volleyball, athletics, table tennis, archery, frisbee, disc-golf, trampolines, different competitions, forest cross, sport orientation in the forest on and on sea (navigation), fishing, Viking boats, bicycle trips to explore the area, visit to the horse farm with horse riding, excursions historical places of interest in the area, active games and adventure trail in Roosta Adventure Park, picnics on a seaside, building sand and stones castles on the beach, Estonian sauna party, etc. Bikes are available for the whole camp duration free of charge. WorkThere will be also some voluntary work such as painting of community buildings, making wooden toys and games for local orphanage, repairing benches and tables, cleaning local beach and old local park from garbage, planting trees, little renovation works in the local school, clearing pavement, helping seniors living in the community with some household duties, preparing fire woods for heating, berries and herbs picking to give the crop to the orphanage and seniors home, duty in a kitchen and around the camp once in a shift, etc. The work will be organised in cooperation with local forestry department, municipality of Nova and local school. AccommodationIn wooden huts set by the local school nearby the seaside (500 m away). Please bring your sleeping bag and mat. Besides, program involves a lot of extra costs for excursions, trips out, visits, sport activities, equipment, materials and general administration and leadership. Since neither EstYES nor its local camp partner, does not receive financial support for this camp from municipality or private sources, to realize this camp we have to charge participation fee of 500 Euro, which covers all camp and program costs including transfer from Tallinn to and from the camp, and which has to be paid by bank transfer before the camp or by participants upon arrival to the camp. This camp is organized for teenagers by youth sport club Lukas-Basket which has been running national youth camps for 25 years and International ones for the past 12 years. International teenage camps will be hosted on seaside in the West of Estonia in Laanemaa County in the municipality of Nova. Beautiful nature, numerous historical places, 200 years long tradition of health resort, unique cultural events are the treasures of the County. Nova with warm sea, white sand, mushroom and berry crops, picturesque lakes, cobble stone road and many places of interest is ideal place for leisure. The aim of Nova camp is to give young people possibility to have active, healthy and meaningful summer vacations with different sport adventures, to enjoy unspoiled nature and to learn to live in harmony with it, also to explore and realize their own capacities and limits. The program will include water activities, sport and ball games, eco-hikes, bicycle trips to places of interest, horse riding, fishing, rowing, acquaintance with local culture and many other exciting things. Mens sana in corpore sano (Healthy Spirit in Healthy Body) i this is the message of the camp Besides all this, camp gives possibility for intensive contacts between local youth and their peers from abroad, showing youngsters the diversity of world cultures, broadening their horizons and encouraging active communication through games and creative activities. Finally, there will be some voluntary work for nature protection and to support local community. The area of the camp is about 3 hectares and it can host over 60 youngsters on one shift. The tasks to be carried out during the next work camps in summer 2025 will focus on im-proving the maintenance of two train cars, finishing the primer phase and PAINTING, since no workings were carried out for about two summers. In addition, doors and exterior windows enclosing will be made. In order to get this done, the works will be the following:
EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE BODY:
- Plastering and sanding of the areas that require it
- Primer with antioxidant paint of the sanitized areas.
- Painting
? Enclosure making in doors and windows.
CEILING: - Cleaning of the sheet, covering of holes by fiber application.
- Primer with an-ti-rust paint.
? Painting.
Two teams will carry out the technical work, so that each of them has both interior and ceiling works to perform. That way, in addition to complying with the Occupational Risk Pre-vention Plan, two groups of maximum 9 young people will take turns in the following tasks, directed in any case by municipal and railway technicians designated to the effect:
FIRST WEEK
Group 1: ROOF. Manual sanding, machine-bound sanding, antioxidant priming.
Group 2: EXTERIOR. machine-bound sanding, antioxidant primer.
SECOND WEEK
Group 1: ROOF & DOORS. Doors cleaning, antioxidant priming (doors), painting (ceiling and doors).
Group 2: EXTERIOR. Cleaning, antioxidant priming.
The groups of workers will be made up by themselves, but it will be recommended that they all rotate by the diverse works so that the learning experience can be optimized. Every worker will be provided the corresponding Individual Protection Equipment items required by the Security Plan, which will be endorsed by the City Council. In any case, the City of Canfranc and the AZAFT are responsible for the technical works, being present at all times the monitor and director of the activity in order to survey and facilitate the tasks, assist the groups as well as to ensure the proper understanding of all instructions in English and their Spanish translations for the local technicians.
Specific Objectives:
1. - Create an educational program based on community service to strengthen self-training skills for the rehabilitation of railway heritage.
2 - To promote the values of effort, cooperation, solidarity and social involvement among the youth population as a collaborative example of social work promoting sustainability values in terms of environment and heritage, its conservation, respect, dissemination and integration into the social life of young people.
3. - Provide a varied, dynamic and recreational program, tailored to the motivations and interests of the participants, and open to their suggestions and initiatives.
4. - Develop positive feelings and affections in the participants about the program and the group, creating a positive working atmosphere among them, and cultivating good relation-ships with the town's neighbors.

Canfranc-Station is located 1190 meters above the sea level, the whole district occupies an area of 71.6 km?. Up north of the valley the winter sports stations of Candanchu and Astun are located.
Historically speaking, cross-border communications have marked the evolution of the val-ley: the Somport -also called at times the port of Canfranc- is the less steep and thus the most frequently employed border crossing of all the central Pyrenees. From the old horseshoe road, transformed in 1876 into a road, to the construction of the cross-border railway, inaugu-rated in 1928, and the recent road tunnel, the history of communications through the Somport has remained closely intertwined to Canfranc?s own history.
The village?s permanent population amounts to about 600 inhabitants, although its tourist character gives that figure a boost up to as high as 1500 floating permanent dwellers when hotel beds and second residences are taken into account.
Among its main heritage features and historical assets, the FFCC International Station stands out as a marvel on its own. The Station, built in 1915 and inaugurated in 1928 by Al-fonso XIII, was at that time the second largest international train station of the entire continent. The Church of Our Lady of Pilar, designed by Miguel Fisac in 1965, is another historical site of the village.
Testimony to the cross-border character of the area and as a memory of past rivalries, remarkable pieces of defensive architecture can be found all over the area. Perched on a high promontory, the Fort Coll de Ladrones dominates the view of the upper side and surveils the station placement, whereas clusters of Bunkers belonging to the Line P of defense hide in strategic locations throughout the valley, waiting to be found by the trekkers. Right at the southern entrance to the village, the fortified Rifle Turret from the XIX century gives way to the travelers.
Hidden on the deep vowels of the mountain, CSIC Scientific Underground Laboratory carries out a search for the subtlest physical phenomena in and environment of cosmic si-lence.
This summer?s Program is arranged with a good dose of Scientific outreach, as a collabo-ration in a Citizen Science Experiment is scheduled with the Canfranc Underground Labora-tory (LSC) of the CSIC. In addition to this main complementary activity, a series of other lei-sure activities are scheduled throughout the program, taking place on chosen afternoons, evenings and weekend days. Such activities are specified below:
1. Environmental study activities: walks, environmental interpretation, landscape readings, fauna, flora, geomorphology, anthropology.
2. Mountaineering activities: two hikes in the area of La Moleta-Buenavista-Ip and Estiviel-las
3. Afternoon excursions: Gabardito, Camino de Santiago.
4. Visit to neighboring towns: Villanua, Castiello and Jaca.
5. Mountain sports: Orientation, cartography, hiking, etc.
6. Leisure activities: parties, games and gatherings.
7. Training activities: workshop on European citizenship
8. Awareness-raising activities: heritage guided tours, European values

Hostel in Canfranc:
Traditional house of Canfranc refurbished as a hostel and ideal for convivial activities for over 35 years. The participants are accommodated in a 20-bed dorm. The Hostel has a large dining room with wooden tables, which can be used as a multipurpose room, venue for parties, meetings and workshops. Additionally, there is an extra room with TV, computer for public use, games, music, where it is possible to perform recreational or educational activities. Home-styled food is offered, with generous serving?s suit to cover the needs of adults who perform physical activities. Made by the professional staff at the hostel itself, in a professional kitchen. The dining room is spacious and connected to the kitchen. The group organizes the dining room according to their needs, taking care of the organization of tables, food, and leav-ing tables cleared and wiped off after each food service, since collaboration and co-responsibility are encouraged. There is also an outdoor dining room in the garden of the Hos-tel that can be enjoyed whenever the weather allows it, so as to enjoy summer nights. The municipality of Heilsbronn will focus on two different projects to renovate and maintain the town’s infrastructure, with the help of international volunteers:
- Preservation tasks for the “Vita Parcours’” fitness trail: Clear the over-grown plants along the paths and across the different stations, make signs visible, and clean the stations and trails of any leftover trash.
- Renovate the “Barfußpfa” (barefoot path): This path is highly valued and used by the local community, especially by children and families. It includes many different textures such as pebbles, moss, and pine cones. The tasks will require emptying and refilling different sections of the path.
Additional similar projects may be added. You should expect to be working outdoors alongside municipal workers in renovation or construction tasks. Do not worry! No previous experience is required since a professional instructor will be there to provide support and guidance through the different tasks. You will work 30 hour per week between 8am to 4pm from Monday to Friday with a lunchbreak on site.

Heilsbronn has some historic buildings, including traditional half-timbered houses and the unique "Heilsbronn Abbey"—a 12th-century Cistercian monastery and local cathedral. However, Heilsbronn city centre has also a lot to offer! You will find supermarkets, various shops, pubs, youth centre, a barbecue area, and other amenities. Additionally, the town can offer free access to the outdoor swimming pool for your group. Nature lovers will enjoy several hiking trails in the beautiful surrounding landscape.
The nearby cities of Nuremberg, Bamberg, and Rothenburg are also within easy reach and can be visited on weekends using public transportation.

You will be staying at the local youth club called ‘’JUZ’’. The accommodation consists of two large rooms and a smaller one where you will sleep on camp beds or mattresses on the floor. Please bring a sleeping bag! There is a small kitchen, a common room with sofas and games to relay and get to know the rest of the team, two toilets and one bathroom. A washing machine and Wi-Fi connection will also be available in the facility.
As we mentioned, local community is excited about your arrival! Expect local youth to visit the club to welcome, show you around, and spend time connecting with the group.
The group of volunteers will be responsible for meal preparation, which includes grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning up afterward. Food will be purchased with the camp budget and tasks will be distributed during the first days to ensure everyone participates. In order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage volunteers to reduce meat and explore other more sustainable dishes.

Alliksaare Farm s main direction is horse breeding. At the moment there are around 150 horses on the farm. The work can be diverse: it is to take care and maintain the pastures located by the sea - clearing around the pastures, building or removing fences, repairing fences, cleaning the stable. Another work is cleaning the coast nearby the farm from rubbish brought by storms. There can be some work for preparing food for horses for a winter time. However the major and the most important one is work with horses directly - taking care and training them. There are horses of any age but mostly young ones, so depending on your experience and willingness to learn more, it is possible to practice taking care of and training young horses. For example socializing and training foals, halter train yearlings and saddle and/or carriage train young horses. The work will be mainly outdoors. Working time is 6-7 hours a day. Work will be done under some supervision and guidance of the local host but mostly independently.

The accommodation conditions are very simple - in caravans, however beds are provided. Please bring your sleeping bag. Toilets and showers are available on site. There is a kitchen with all necessary equipment for cooking. Ingredients for food will be provided, but you need to cook by yourselves. We ask you to keep the living and common areas clean (washing dishes, cleaning the floors, etc).

Be ready for independent work staying without permanent supervision. Please consider that the work is mainly farm work which can be hard at some time. It can be helpful if you have some technical skills: repair machines, building, use chainsaws, etc. Driving license is an advantage. Smoking and drinking alcohol are not permitted on the farm. Hiiumaa, according to the Nordic sagas, emerged from the Baltic Sea as a small islet more than 10 000 years ago. The island of Hiiumaa was first mentioned in historical documents as a deserted island called Dageida in 1228. The first inhabitants settled down at the end of the 13th century. Nowadays, Hiiumaa is the second biggest island of Estonia with an area of 965 sq. km and a population of around 9 000. It has many historical and nature sights, and there are kind people known for their hospitality and good sense of humor. The island is referred to as a remote area of Europe, and EstYES feels particularly proud developing international voluntary projects for over twenty years there. EstYES has been cooperating with eco-farms all over Estonia for solidarity and practical support to local people who work in the agricultural sector keeping traditional lifestyle and developing new eco-farming despite all difficulties. Alliksaare Farm on Hiiumaa Island is one of such projects. This is an organic farm promoting sustainable lifestyle, and this camp is proposed for volunteers who appreciate and share its values, want to learn more about it and to help hard working people. Alliksaare Farm breeds an endangered breed of horses called Estonian Native horse. This is their main focus. You will have several tasks: helping to organise local life, particularly by assisting with the organisation of festivities. You'll also help to organise concerts and contribute to community life. You'll be an integral part of the volunteer team and will be responsible for loading instruments and setting up stages, among other tasks. On average, you'll work between 5 and 6 hours a day.

At the crossroads of some pretty little villages in the Charente, you'll be able to take full advantage of the local heritage. Visits to the region will be organised collectively according to your wishes, for example to the Chateau des Enigmes, the Domaine de Birius, etc. You'll also be able to discover local towns such as Cognac, Saintes and perhaps La Rochelle! Leisure time and local activities will give you the chance to meet the locals!

Accommodation will be shared between the Maison des Bateleurs in Montendre and the Lycee de Pons boarding school. You will be welcomed at the Maison des Bateleurs at the start and end of the work camp, where meals will be prepared in turn by you, in particular for lunch and dinner, while respecting environmental values and local resources, as well as everyone's culture (hot and cold dishes, as well as for vegetarians and vegans will be prepared).
When you sleep on the festival site, meals will be provided by the organisers.

This camp allows volunteers to learn about global and local environmental issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits, as well as to contribute directly to environment protection by joining outdoor cleanup tasks.These cleanup tasks may be arranged in partnership with the above mentioned organisations or run solely by SEEDS. We also aim to involve the local community, so some of our events may be open to the public. We hope participants will learn how to plan and carry out their own trash cleaning projects back at home. This project is based on similar activities around the world, where outstanding results have been achieved with volunteers. Volunteers can choose one of the two options below, included as hands-on volunteering activity in the camp:1. A day trip combining a visit to the HellisheiE(i geothermal power plant, a trash collection in the area, and the Hot River Hike, a hike up a valley filled with hot springs where one can bathe.2. A day trip to the Reykjanes Peninsula, combined with a coastal cleanup in the area.Please note that all activities are subject to weather conditions and the availability of our partners.This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. No previous experience is needed. The volunteers can enjoy outdoor activities in a peaceful and beautiful location with a small stream and a pond nearby. Hiking trails with maps about cultural heritage can be found throughout the area, which is a popular attraction among both foreign and local visitors. The nearest town, Selfoss, only 10 minutes-drive away, with 6500 inhabitants, is a centre of commerce and small industries where you find a geothermal swimming pool, shops, museums, cafes and bars.

As there will be traditional Days of the Village/ Marjamaa Summer Fest on 01.-03.08, volunteers are asked to help it out doing various practical jobs related to its organization and running. This will involve cleaning and tidying up and other manual work. But it is also expected that volunteers contribute to the festival by introducing their national culture, music, dances, also food to local people as well as organizing games and fun activities for local children during the Day of the Youth and Children in the frame of the Festival. Being an administrative centre of community with 7000 inhabitants Marjamaa has several shops, department stores, culture house, cinema, couple of pubs, etc. Larger city nearby is Rapla (25km), an administrative centre of the county. Volunteers will have simple accommodation in the rooms of the Marjamaa Community House right in the centre of the village, sleeping on mattresses. Please bring a sleeping bag. It is long lasting good tradition for EstYES to organize international camps in co-operation with Marjamaa Community. Supporting of children's nature camps, which take place from July 31 to Aug.7. This project is actively working for SDG 4 (Quality Education), organized together with Shirakami Nature School (SNS) since 2006. Shirakami Mountains is one of Japanese valuable preserved natural forests consisting primarily of beech trees, registered as a World Natural Heritage in 1993. SNS has a summer vacation program for children aged 7-12 who will play and live in the nature to grow their independence, cultivate sensitivity, and learn group cooperation. This is also good opportunity for children to learn about international culture through communication with international volunteers. Volunteers need to be ready to spend 24 hours with kids during kids camp except some free times.
