Volunteers mainly work for organic agriculture (cultivation, seeding, weeding, harvesting, taking care of goats, cows and chicken, making their feeds) and also carrying the things from the town to Maki, renovating the houses and trails on the way, constructing a hut, helping the house works especially cooking, etc. It's important and necessary to actively join the daily meeting and actively share the collective life. Be ready to work for quite a long time (05:30-18:00 with some brakes) and hard. It'd be surely good exercise to make your body more healthy!

Maki is located in the beautiful place near “Japanese Northern Alps”, at about 900 meters asl. and there is something remained here that most of Japanese areas have lost in modernization. Other activities - Exchange program, Excursion on a free day (possibly to Hakuba, a famous tourism spot), etc.

Volunteers will live in the main house that is a very beautiful cultural heritage and equips the basic facilities such as water, electricity, kitchen, toilets and a bath room! Single room can be provided. They will have meals, meetings and social life with Kyodo Gakusha members. Meals will be cooked by volunteers together with the members by turns. Sleeping bag is not necessary. There is no wifi.

Motivation letter is needed! Volunteers need to have some Japanese speaking skill (manage to have basic daily conversation) and high motivation and patience to keep hard, long and important work in the very isolated, natural place, to respect the way of the local host and to learn and speak Japanese language is needed. This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 10 (Reduced Inequalities), organized together with Kyodo Gakusha (since 2000 here), a cooperative community where people with various backgrounds such as mentally disadvantaged, people who are tired of city life, who want to learn farming, who want to live in the nature, etc. They have 5 communities in Japan incl. Maki and Tateya and grow animals and vegetables in an ecological, organic way.
Maki is located in a very isolated area (not accessible for cars and we have to walk 4 km in the mountains!), so it once became an abandon village in 1970s and then, was revived by Kyodo Gakusha. Over 10 people incl. 2 families were living till several years ago, but less and less in these years (almost nobody in the winter), so vols. are needed even more!
*Outcome of this workcamp: In 2023, we had 4 short term workcamps and 1 LMTV project with 13 vols. who greatly contributed to their protecting the houses, farming and caring animals that was difficult to finish by the time they needed without volunteers! Turku is a beautiful old seaside city which used to be the capital of Finland before Helsinki. It is located 150 km from Helsinki and is also easily accessible by ferry from Sweden. In case you are flying, there is also a small airport in Turku, but it is easier to fly to Helsinki and then take a train or bus to Turku.Koroinen historical farm is a nature location, on the beautiful river side valley of Aura-river. The farm is located less than 2 km of the city center. Walking and bicycle trails to the city center and upstream theriverside pass through the farm. Koroinen farm is permaculture center and a transition movement actor with 25 years long history of sustainable development work. On the farm can be found community gardening, plotgardening, crafts workshops, biodiversity art park, sauna, swimming in the river, rowing boat, bicycles and lots of community members.

Accommodation inside the main house, mattresses provided, please bring your own bed linen or sleeping bag with you. In the farm nature it is also possible to camp in the yard with your own tent, if you wish. Meals will be cooked together.

The volunteers need travel insurance for the duration of their stay. The EYA project is primarily targeted to European volunteers but open for all. Green travelling is encouraged. Volunteers traveling by land (bus or train) for most of their journey will be eligible for a travel grant up to 100euro.

She started this home for senior citizens who need quality home care services to seniors with limited mobility or dementia and hence social interaction. She started this home in 2000 and the second home in 2018. The founder belief “life shouldn’t end when you are old, it should be full of happy memories regardless of the age. The founder wants to keep the seniors active and engaged through physical, mental and social activities, all in the comfort of their home.The workcamp was revived in 2023 and in 2024, 8 volunteers from Japan and Hong Kong did great work!

Support the educational centre Kell am See, an important place for youth work in the whole area of Trier, by doing environmental and maintenance works! The educational centre is public, non-profit and offers the opportunity for youth groups, associations and schools to spend some days or weeks here, running a seminar or some other projects. One focus of the offer is on environmental education and outdoor activities. You will be working to take care and maintain the green areas around the regional education centre. Your tasks will include:
• cutting the grass and bushes;
• renovating/taking care of the playground and its big swing, the low rope course, the tree houses and the sports grounds;
• tending the herbs garden and the insect hotel;
• building wooden benches;
• cleaning the grounds of the centre.
In addition, you will continue to upgrade the outdoor area pedagogically and create new offers. One of the workcamps set up an outdoor kitchen with pizza oven, which is used for different educational actions with youngsters.

Kell am See is a village 30 km from Trier, surrounded by beautiful landscapes. The area is well known for cycling, hiking and other ways of outdoor activities. In Kell, there is a holiday resort, which offers more than 200 holiday bungalows next to a lake (close to the educational centre). The area is not just appreciated by tourists: People from the area also come here for cycling (there is a 45 km cycling path on a former railway roadbed) or to spend a nice day outside. In addition, the region offers plenty of historic sites (castles, museums….). You will get the opportunity to come in contact with local associations, e.g. the local voluntary fire brigade. Since public transport is poor, the number of excursions will be limited but you will for sure visit Trier, famous for its Roman sites, its cathedral and for being the birth place of Karl-Marx.

You will stay in five wooden tepees for max. five persons each. It is really great to stay here surrounded by pure nature, with the campfire in the middle of the circle of tepees. In the centre you will have your own kitchen including a dish-washer, a living room and sanitary facilities. For your free time you will find plenty of outdoor facilities (campfire, basketball, football, volleyball…) and a nice indoor room. Please be aware that the tepees have beds and electricity but no heating, so it might be cold at night. Bring a warm sleeping bag! In the different facilities of the centre as the kitchen and the living room, there is heating. Wifi is available.
Your group of volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking together. The food will be bought with the camp budget and everybody will take turns for cooking, washing the dishes and cleaning. In order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage volunteers to reduce meat and try more sustainable dishes.

Kell am See is a touristic village not far from Trier, the oldest German city. The regional youth department runs an educational centre in this village, which offers different environmental educational activities for youth groups and school classes. The centre was just renovated a couple of years ago and different new outdoor and training facilities were installed. For them it is important to get the support of international volunteer for their centre but at the same time they share the aims of international volunteering and want to offer a nice opportunity to you. Creative teaching English – Creative teaching is important to recognize; teaching
certificate does not need for specific quality of the volunteer, but creative is the

The main goal of this project is fostering intercultural exchange and language learning. Volunteers
share and exchange culture, language, and knowledge with the local community and school
students.
English, as a global language, plays a vital role in preparing local Thai people to become global
citizens. It opens doors to new knowledge and perspectives. Since its inception by VSA Thailand in
2011, the project has successfully empowered children and local communities to improve their
English skills and gain confidence in interacting with international volunteers.
This cultural exchange has also strengthened relationships between locals and foreigners,
encouraging mutual understanding and adaptation to diverse ways of life.
Songkhla, as a VSA base, has many schools eager to host international volunteers, primarily in
rural areas, for meaningful teaching and cultural exchange during the volunteers’ stay.

Created in 1991 at the Moulin de Ferrière, the Marsinne folk festival brings together dancers, musicians, singers and artists in the wonderful setting of the Château Ferme de Marsinne.
Every year on the 2nd weekend in September, this festival welcomes well-known and lesser-known groups for folk balls and traditional music concerts. The programme attracts both dance fans and music lovers of all stripes. Non-dancers also have the opportunity to learn folk ball dances and other repertoires.
Musicians, dancers and the curious for a day come together in a friendly, family atmosphere. When not on stage, the musicians play spontaneously together, in the middle of the audience or at the market of the craftsmen and luthiers present.
The setting of the château-farm, a magnificent, peaceful and easily accessible place, adds a unique touch. The festival is not a commercial venture, but it attracts an ever-growing audience.

The festivities include gathering with family and friends, playing music, and enjoying special foods and drinks. Volunteers help prepare and celebrate the Holi festival in the community.

The Chateau de Bruzac has been a co-castle for centuries. Indeed, since the 13th century, it has been the seat of a co-lordship following a complicated succession. So complex that until the revolution, it remained separated into two sets of habitats within the same fortified enclosure despite the various occupations, wars and revolts. After the revolution and the evictions of the noble families of the site, the castle will serve as a quarry for the inhabitants of the village of Saint Pierre de Cole and the surrounding farms.
For around thirty years, it has belonged to a couple of history enthusiasts and is managed and promoted by the local association "Renaissance du Vieux Bruzac". You'll have the chance to help them clear the chapel and salvage the stones. These 2 weeks of work will be punctuated by the European Heritage Days on 20 and 21 September. You'll be taking a step back in time, and on this occasion, you'll be helping to welcome visitors in a medieval setting, with costumed activities.
You'll also have the chance to find out from this association, which is passionate about history, how people cooked in the Middle Ages and during the Renaissance, and to visit the Dordogne, a land of gastronomy and history.

Participants will work on the grounds of a former external camp of the Ravensbruck women?s concentration camp, where hundreds of women were forced to work under extreme conditions in the armaments industry during World War II. To honor their memory, a memorial is being created on the site. In the first step, volunteers will physically assist in preparing the area and carrying out initial construction measures. At the same time, they will have the opportunity to contribute ideas for the design of the memorial, ensuring that it becomes a dignified place of remembrance and education.

Malchow is a small town in the south of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, situated between two large lakes. The region offers numerous recreational opportunities, from beautiful nature and water sports to relaxing walks along the lakes. Malchow also has a rich and moving history: During World War II, it was the external camp of the Ravensbruck concentration camp, where hundreds of women were forced to work under inhuman conditions. Today, remembrance of this time serves as a reminder of the importance of advocating for peace and humanity.
LEISURE:
Volunteers can swim, explore the surroundings by water, or go on bike tours. Excursions to cities such as Rostock are also possible. In the evenings, group games or creative activities provide opportunities for exchange.

During 1st week volunteers would join us in our headquarter which is based at a rural location where they have opportunity to live & experience a typical mountain village culture, their lifestyle and during process join our ongoing initiatives like NFE, women empowerment, NRM (Protection of fresh water sources), organic farming etc. During 2nd week the group would move to Mcloedganj in Dharamshala which is a touristic town and also Secretariat of Tibetan Government in exile. Over here they would visit Tibetan, monasteries, museum, schools and join language classes with Tibetan monks. There is a likelihood that we may take up some cleanliness work or some other activity. Otherwise, this week will be more of touristic and culture sharing.

(1st week) RUCHI Campus at village, Bandh of Solan district and (2nd week) in the town of Mcloedganj in Dharamshala, a tourist hub. In the first week, Nearby Kasauli town is a major attraction. A visit to Shimla will offer an opportunity to see high Himalayan Mountains and British architecture. During 2nd week, the volunteers will visit Dharamshala, the headquarters of Tibetan Government in exile. Opportunities will be there for short and long treks in the mountains. After the camp, if they like, volunteers may visit Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab.

Vegetarian food will be served but in the town you will have access to non-vegetarian meals as well. Based on the time of the year the volunteers will be working during the day or at night in the months of August and September from 20:00 to 08:00. Depending on the number of turtles that come ashore, two teams might be formed among the volunteers. In this way, each group will be taking turns, working one night, and taking the next night off for recovery. In addition, the weekends are also spared for resting. Some of the activities to be performed are:
1. Finding adult turtles and collecting their eggs.
2. Moving the eggs to a protected place called Vivero.
3. Releasing newborn baby turtles into the sea.
4. Patrolling the beaches at night.
5. Making some reconstruction in the most important turtle camps of the region.
Please consider that the schedule is subject to change depending on the weather conditions and the condition of the sea turtles and it is possible to work with crocodiles in case there is no work with turtles, this can happen mostly in the months of January and February. The coordinator or the camp leader will be informing you regarding your work schedule.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming "Ohenro (pilgrims)" who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting "Kakurin-ji temple"; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for "omotenashi (hospitality)". Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

Participants will have time to put the theory about photography into practice, exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant will be selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods, and laptops, if possible. While learning about photography, the participants have the opportunity to explore Icelandic culture through active participation: capturing it, engaging with it, and showcasing their work throughout the camp. One of our goals is to empower young people to use photography to highlight environmental and cultural subjects and issues.Participants should be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances during activities and working within a flexible schedule. Participants will be photographing in their free time outside of workshop hours with images to be discussed at group feedback sessions.This camp is open to participants aged 16 to 20. During their stay, SEEDS organises a programme that combines learning, sharing, getting to know Iceland and its culture, and having fun while exploring the city and some of the most stunning natural attractions in the Golden Circle and Reykjanes Peninsula excursions. Note that this is a learning/sharing camp and not a regular workcamp; this project has a smaller volunteer work part and emphasises the personal learning process over the community impact. We may be able to organise some outdoor voluntary work, but it depends on our partners and the weather conditions.

ACCOMMODATION: SEEDS participants will stay in a house in ReykjavEk. The facilities are basic with an equipped kitchen, dining and living room, bathrooms, showers and a washing machine. Participants will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities. Note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music or games from your country for the intercultural evening. Be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

Throughout the year, participants from all over the world come to Iceland for an immersive photography-focused learning camp. SEEDS coordinators help participants to develop their unique photographic skills through workshops and feedback sessions on technical settings, compositional considerations, and creating conceptual frameworks that highlight each participants individual style.
