Forte de son histoire, la forteresse accueille des bénévoles internationaux·ales depuis les années 1980 afin de l'entretenir, de la valoriser et d'animer la vie locale durant l'été. Cette année, ce sont 5 chantiers internationaux qui y sont organisés sur la période estivale. Tu participeras à la troisième session de l'année.
Viens participer à la sauvegarde et à la valorisation de ce patrimoine d'exception ! Autour du château, tu réaliseras plusieurs travaux de restauration. Accompagné·e par un·e encadrant·e technique, tu participeras à l’entretien des maçonneries en découvrant les techniques traditionnelles : dejointoiement et rejointoiement des murs, fabrication de mortier à base de chaux et de sable, maniement des outils. Tu participeras aussi à l’entretien des boiseries : barrières de sécurité, construction en palettes pour les espaces de détente. Tu participeras également aux actions environnementales de la forteresse : débroussaillage, taille des arbustes, entretien du potager, rénovation des cabines de toilettes sèches. Protéger une telle bâtisse necéssite du temps et beaucoup d'énergie ; viens apporter ta pierre a l'édifice !
With its rich history, international volunteers have been welcomed at the castle since the 1980s to help maintain and promote it, and enliven local life during the summer. This year, 5 international workcamps are organized at the fortress over the summer. You will participate in the third session of the year.
Come and join the preservation and enhancement efforts of this exceptional heritage! Around the castle, you will carry out several restoration tasks. Guided by a technical supervisor, you will help maintain the masonry by learning traditional techniques: removing and re-pointing the walls, making lime and sand mortar, and handling the tools. You will also assist with maintaining the woodwork: safety barriers and building with pallets for relaxation areas. Finally, you will take part in maintining the fortress's environment: clearing brush, pruning shrubs, maintaining the vegetable garden, and renovating the dry toilet cabins. Protecting such a building takes time and energy; come contribute to the effort!

Located in the heart of the Bourbonnais region in northern Auvergne, the village of Montaigu-le-Blin offers a rich historical and cultural heritage. L'hébergement se fait sous tente, à 10/15 min à pieds de la forteresse et à 5 min à pieds du centre de la commune. Tout est organisé sur place dans le respect de l'environnement (tri des déchets et compost) avec l'objectif d'avoir un mode de vie plus écologique.
Au-delà des temps de chantier, les volontaires participent ensemble à l’organisation de la vie collective. Souvent réparti·e·s en équipes, ils·elles élaborent les menus, participent aux courses, préparent les repas et s’assurent de la propreté des espaces communs.
Véritable acteur·ice de ton expérience, tu participeras aussi à la prise de décisions concernant les activités collectives et l’organisation du quotidien !
Accommodation is in tents, 10-15 minutes on foot from the fortress and 5 minutes on foot from the centre of the village. Everything is organised on-site with respect for the environment (waste sorting and composting) with the goal of promoting a more ecofriendly lifestyle.
Beyond the working hours, volunteers come together to organise daily life on the camp. Often divided into teams, they plan menus, help with the shopping, prepare meals, and ensure the cleanliness of shared spaces.
Fully involved in shaping your experience, you will also take part in decision-making regarding group activities and daily organization!

Depuis les années 80, des bénévoles participent chaque année à la sauvegarde, la rénovation et à l'animation touristique du château, alors pourquoi pas toi ?
Ces dernières années, la forteresse s'est refaite une beauté ! Les bénévoles ont continué à faire des travaux de maçonnerie traditionelle sur les murs du château et ont développé le potager médiéval au pied de la tour du Seigneur. A vous de prendre le flambeau !
Inside a lovely little French village, the castle of Montaigu le Blin is an impressive medieval fortress, classified as Historical Monument. It is located on the top of a hill, overlooking the countryside. Since 2002, volunteers have been participating, every summer, to the restoration of the castle. These last years, the fortress has regained its beauty! Since the 80s, volunteers come every year to restore and protect the castle. These last couple of years, volunteers restored the castle walls using traditional masonry techniques and developped the medieval vegetable garden at the bottom of the Lord's tower. This year, it's your turn to live an experience back in time!

Our association is a living space that welcomes people from all walks of life every year. In 2023, this space for learning and experimentation inaugurated an associative canteen called ?Au bout du monde?. This project will involve continuing work to improve the outside entrance, so that visitors feel welcome and can easily find their way around. You'll be able to learn traditional masonry techniques for around 4 hours each morning. You'll take it in turns to help out with everyday tasks, including cooking, tending the garden and cleaning communal areas.

You'll be accommodated in our association's park, where we'll set up large collective tents (8 to 16 places). You'll sleep in a bunk bed. Bring a good comforter and your pillow! You'll have access to the house showers and toilets. There are also dry toilets outside. The site is equipped with a professional kitchen. Accompanied by the animators, your group will take turns preparing meals each day. At Beaumotte, we eat meat twice a week, and wifi access is limited in certain rooms of the house. There's no washing machine, so you'll need to bring your own washing powder and clothes for 15 days!

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming "Ohenro (pilgrims)" who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting "Kakurin-ji temple"; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for "omotenashi (hospitality)". Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

Volunteer will help to 1) maintain the old houses by cleaning up, drying many sleeping mats, etc., 2) do farming (weeding in the green tea field that was abandon, cultivating, planting and harvesting potatoes) and 3) do other community work (e.g., construction, chopping woods, trail maintenance). This project is actively working for SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with Ohara Eco Project (OEP) since 2009. There were 600 inhabitants in Ohara village with 90 houses 100 years ago, but now only 1 elder! OEP was founded by the local people in 2006 and has rehabilitated 7 houses of cultural heritage. They maintain and revive the trails and fields, organize the workcamps with NICE and run various eco tours, so got the best prize in the award of Creating Home Town by the national government in 2016! The family workcamp started since 2013 (President of NICE keeps joining as a leader with his kids) and hosted a lot of families from Japan, Asia, Europe and Americas with great success.
*Outcome of this workcamp: In 2024, 17 vols. from 5 families joined and made great contribution to have dried over sleeping mats, weed in the tea field (see the pictures), made natural clay for walls, cleaned the village road, etc. Please see the presentation made by the volunteer for the IVS contest in Japan; https://www.slideshare.net/nice-workcamp/e5-55193721 (only Japanese for the moment, but you can at least enjoy the pictures!)

You will be working on the preservation of the south facade of the Hotellerie building, in the hamlet of Vaunieres. This stone facade is currently covered with a layer of insulation and a really damaged finish. The first phase of work will therefore involve removing the insulation to reveal the ancient masonry. Next, you will repoint the stones with mortar, and then apply the bonding plaster. A local expert will guide you through the various phases of the project. Some activities involve working on scaffolding. Each day, two members of the group will take turns preparing meals for the team; the menu will be defined in advance. You'll work on-site during the morning, Monday to Friday.
Generally speaking, the work involves masonry, preparing tools and meals, as well as organizing and setting up community life.

After two years spent restoring the interior walls of the church, the aim of this project is to continue renovating the walls of the Saint-Jacques-et-Saint-Philippe church in Buxerolles. The church dates back to the 11th century, but the walls have been plastered with cement, which has led to poor drainage of moisture and created saltpetre. Accompanied by a specialist technical supervisor, you will first have to remove the plaster from the walls, then dehumidify the walls, and finish by plastering them with lime. Other traditional masonry work will give you a chance to familiarise yourself with these techniques. Come with work clothes or clothes that may be damaged or soiled. We will provide you with safety equipment. No qualifications are required for this project. You will work 4 to 5 hours a day.

Buxerolles (86180) is located in the Greater Poitiers conurbation, in the Vienne departement (86), 6 km from Poitiers.
At the crossroads of several charming little villages in the Vienne, you'll be able to take full advantage of the local heritage. Outings to Poitiers or Chatellerault and activities such as the Futuroscope, bowling or cinema, can also be organised.

Matour, a dynamic village in Saone-et-Loire, welcomes you to an international volunteer work camp. Together, we will restore two of the seven washhouses in the commune, treasures of its heritage.
Led by the Concordia association and the municipality, this project aims to preserve local history while fostering intercultural exchanges. Residents and volunteers from around the world will work together to bring these emblematic sites back to life.
The work will focus on renovating the roofs, with possible interventions on the framework. Conducted on scaffolding, the project will be supervised by an experienced technical leader, ensuring safety and adherence to traditional construction methods. Work will take place in the mornings, for 5 to 6 hours per day, to avoid the heat.
But a work camp is also a human adventure ! Afternoons will be dedicated to activities, relaxation, or group-chosen events. Weekends will be an opportunity to explore the region and its rich heritage.

You will be accommodated in individual tents at the municipal stadium in Matour. The tents will be provided by Concordia, but you should bring a sleeping pad or mattress and a sleeping bag rated for 10?C comfort to ensure a pleasant night's sleep. The stadium facilities, including showers, toilets, and changing rooms, will be available to you.
A small enclosed and covered space will serve as a communal area for meal preparation, dining, and organizing activities if needed.
You will take part in organizing collective life (cleaning, activities, etc.) and preparing meals on a rotating basis, using locally sourced ingredients. Whenever possible, we will prioritize a vegetarian diet with seasonal local products, while respecting all dietary needs and promoting the discovery of local cuisine.
There is no Wi-Fi connection or laundry service on-site. We recommend making arrangements beforehand. However, it will be possible to do small hand washes if necessary.

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

Help us to create pallet outdoor furniture for the commune of Les Mureaux, creating a cheerful, welcoming environment for local residents!
The city of Les Mureaux has a number of social and youth structures that are essential for social action at family level, and for the city's cultural activities. The aim of the project will be to create an outdoor living room using recycled wooden street furniture, so that it can once again become a welcoming and convivial space for the community, and in particular for the neighborhood's young people! Workshops will be organised to raise awareness of sustainable development, as well as workshops with children and many community visits.

Les Mureaux is a suburban town with a population of 32,000 in the northern Yvelines region, just under an hour from Paris. Civic activities include a visit to the Musee de l'Immigration in Paris, a meeting with the NGO Terre d'Asile, Refugee Food, the Chateau de Versailles and the Amarres third place center. Social events in Les Mureaux and Paris are planned throughout the workcamp.

You will be accommodated in a hard-standing building (gymnasium, school or social center) with hard-standing toilets and showers. Lunches and dinners will be cooked collectively, i.e. you will take it in turns to cook for all the volunteers. Weekday lunches will be taken in the canteen. A budget will be allocated to the leaders for the shopping in which you will participate, giving priority to healthy and local products, and vegetarian products. Wifi will not be available at the mission site and at the accommodation site. There is no washing machine but laundries are accessible in town if needed, 4?.

Ovakorusu Wild Animal Shelter is one of the few facilities in Europe. This facility houses and treats injured or disadvantaged wild animals in nature. The animals are kept in their natural habitat. There are dozens of disadvantaged animals such as bears, wolves, foxes, hawks and owls in the facility.
Volunteers help with the daily feeding of animals. When necessary, they participate in their treatment and vaccination processes with professionals. Environmental cleaning and organization of the facility are also done with volunteers.
Volunteers also participate in repairs and painting of areas in need of repair at the facility. Work with wild animals is carried out with safety precautions. Our volunteers have gained extraordinary experience in this project in the past years.

Organized by the Yamato Traditional Fishing Weir Preservation Association, the first-class river Enogawa, also known as "Chugoku Taro," flows through the Tsuga area of Misato. This is the only area along the "Gono River" where the fishing method known as "Yana fishing" is still practiced. The co-organizing organizations are dedicated to preserving this fishing method for future generations, which led to the establishment of the new preservation association in 2020.
"Yana fishing" is a traditional fishing method in Japan, where a fish trap called "yana" is set up in a river to catch fish. The yana is a type of fish weir or net placed in the river's flow, and fish are captured as they swim into it. This fishing technique is still practiced in some regions of Japan.
You can learn about the ecology of sweet fish (ayu) and rivers while also being involved in rural tourism development and regional revitalization.

You'll be taking part in the enhancement of local heritage around the Abbey and its ramparts. Festivals, night markets, and village fairs will punctuate the summer. You will discover the welcoming nature of the local people and the charm of their landscapes and heritage by organising activities with other volunteers, other groups, and the leaders of your programme of activities.

Remember – Connect – Understand – Shape the Future is our guiding slogan since 1987. We will learn about the history of the concentration camp Dachau and other aspects of National Socialism in Germany. We will always ask: What did we learn? How do we remember today? Where do we still find racism, antisemitism, and discrimination? The program consists of different workshops, trips, movies, eyewitness talks, guided tours through the Memorial Site, tours in Dachau and Munich. There is also time for personal conversation, playing music or games.
We invite participants to contribute to the programme: You can send us your ideas for our show at the public IYM festival in the middle of IYM Dachau (dancing, singing, theatre…) Feel free to contact project management in advance.

Since 1983, the International Youth Meeting Dachau has been a place for young people from all over the world to discuss issues concerning the past, the present and the future. They take a look at the history of the former Dachau concentration camp, National Socialism and present forms of exclusion, racism and discrimination. The principles of exchanging ideas, experiencing different cultural backgrounds, as well as Holocaust education are the core ideas of the International Youth Meeting. It is primarily organized by a team of international volunteers. Survivors of the National Socialist regime and their descendants share the experiences and personal consequences of persecution.
In March 1933, one of the first Nazi concentration camps was established in the town of Dachau, near Munich. The Dachau concentration camp soon became a model for other concentration camps and also a place where SS Men were trained. Until 1945, over 206,000 people from different countries were imprisoned in Dachau. About 41,500 prisoners died from terror and the consequences of inhuman practices, diseases, exhaustion and hunger. In 1965, due to the initiative of some survivors, the memorial site was established. And in 1983, the first IYM Dachau organized by young people of the region, took place.

It is planned to redesign and construct a Dirtbike-Track with the help of international volunteers. The currently existing Dirtbike track was also a project involving local teenagers who participated in the construction of the track. In the last few years, the track has been worn out and now it needs to be repaired. The idea is not just to rebuild the old track, but to redesign and build something new. In this case your task would be to help us with the necessary preparatory work and to start working on the redesign of the track. This means physical labour and cooperation with workers, who are specialized in such projects.
Local teenagers and young adults will work together with you. The lead of the work will be taken by some “professional” mountain bikers who know what a good dirt bike track should look like.
Besides this practical work, volunteers will get to know the concept of youth work in Kelkheim and the integration of residents with diverse social backgrounds. A common project to shape the city can bring together different people with the same interests. In this case you will also get to know the local people and how they live in Kelkheim.

Volunteers will get free access to the local swimming pool and will visit the nearby castle of Königstein. There will be a guided tour of Kelkheim and some interesting information about the development of the first democratic institutions in Germany. Heinrich von Gagern, the most famous son of Kelkheim, was the first president of the first German national parliament in 1848. Therefore, you will also visit the historic parliament in Frankfurt itself, which is now called the “Frankfurt Paulskirche”. As there will be contact with German native speakers, the workcamp is a good opportunity to improve your German language skills.

Volunteers will stay in the central youth club of Kelkheim. You can use the kitchen, a pool table, a table football, a small gym for you to do some strength training and more. You will have plenty of space to make yourself at home, cook, play, do sports or watch a movie together. As already mentioned, the youth club is located in the center of Kelkheim, so you will have plenty of shopping opportunities and restaurants nearby. The central train station is only a five-to-ten-minute walk away.

The city of Kelkheim (Taunus) is a small city consisting of five small villages surrounding the city center. The city stretches from the plain of the Main River to the edge of the Taunus Mountains. The landscape varies between hilly agricultural land in the south and wooded mountains in the north. Kelkheim is part of the Rhine-Main region, with major cities such as Frankfurt, Wiesbaden and Mainz nearby.
Youth work in Kelkheim is very active as local youth work in youth centres and as mobile ‘street work’. Local youth work is running three youth clubs in the center of Kelkheim and in the districts of Fischbach and Ruppertshain. The mobile youth workers are more like street workers. They approach young people on the street and try to find out where they spend their free time and what they want and need in the city. In this context, we know that many young and older people in Kelkheim like to ride bikes, especially mountain biking. So, in cooperation with the mobile youth work a flow trail in the forest of Kelkheim was built in cooperation with local teenagers.

Many songs and poems have been written and a lot of films were made about friends. Science is also investigating the phenomenon of ‘friendship’: BCYIQNCPLG - these are the basic building blocks of the hormone oxytocin, which our body releases when we feel a sense of friendship and security. But can friendship be reduced to such a simple formula? What is behind this feeling? How many friends do we actually need? Is friendship good for your health?
You will become friendship researchers and share stories of trust, comfort, longing and perhaps also betrayal. Together you will work on small scenes using role play, character work, interaction and improvisation. Your own creative ideas and the results of your research will be turned into a play under the guidance of a theatre teacher, which will then be performed in front of an audience.

In the historic town of Linz am Rhein, with its many colorful old town houses, your help is needed. You will help with various gardening and maintenance tasks in the city, e.g. in the park, the historic cemetery and other green spaces in Linz. The municipality of Linz is organizing an international work camp for the 4th time and this camp is also very much about international exchange within the group. The city will also offer a number of activities so that you can get to know the city and the surrounding area. The workcamp groups who spent their summers here in 2019, 2022, 2024 felt very comfortable and enjoyed all the offers from the municipality.

The city forest is a habitat for many (rare) plant and animal species and a recreational area for people who jog, bike, hike or simply enjoy nature there. Due to climate change, many plants and animals are now endangered and the task of the forestry team is to protect the forest and preserve the flora and fauna for the future. You will support the forest rangers in a variety of activities in the areas of nature conservation, forest maintenance and the preservation of recreational areas for forest visitors. These tasks include the removal of non-native plants, the care of young trees and the clearing of watercourses and forest paths. You will also gain an insight into the diverse tasks of a forest ranger's office and the forest ecosystem.

Wolfsburg's internationally renowned sights include the castle and the art museum, as well as the ‘Phaeno’ science museum. The mayor of the Wolfsburg city centre district arranges free admission and guided tours of these institutions and the planetarium for the group :-) These activities will take place at the weekend (Fri 1 - Sun 3 August). Your host community Germersheim is looking forward to your help with renovation tasks in the fortress museum. The fortress is present everywhere in Germersheim. The numerous historic buildings are listed and are used in a variety of ways: as a museum, university, music school and youth center. The Ludwigstor, as one of the preserved city gates, will be “your fortress building”, which is used as a museum but is closed due to necessary renovation and restoration work. With your help, it will be reopened in 2026. To this end, we are organizing two work camps with the city of Germersheim this year. In this summer camp, your help is needed to renovate the exhibition rooms. The rooms are to be restored to their original “historical” state as far as possible and everything that deviates from the construction period is to be removed. Specifically: historical windows must be thoroughly refurbished, plywood panels that keep out daylight must be carefully removed, the window timbers must be sanded and revitalized with oily paints. Some of the historic wooden floors have PVC coverings, which should be carefully removed without damaging the substrate, e.g. with a spatula or special tools. Door frames that do not correspond to the construction period, i.e. were added later, must be carefully removed, as must wall areas that close off former passageways. The aim is to recreate the historical room shape with vaulted ceilings and natural lighting. In order to restore the rooms to their original size, some of the masonry walls even have to be removed. The various demolition materials have to be transported through the building for disposal and sorted, and possibly also stored for reuse.
As you can see, you can really let off steam here, but it's also strenuous work that requires a bit of strength! Turn up the music and off you go. If you want to really let off steam in an old fortress, this is the place for you. Another aspect is that you should document your work digitally, e.g. with a video diary of your work or a photo documentation that not only shows you at work, but also the spatial changes before and after your work assignment.

You have lots of leisure options: you can be in Speyer in 12 minutes by S-Bahn, with a beautiful historic old town, the cathedral, technology museum, Sea Life, Bademaxx (leisure pool), cafés and bars. The university cities of Heidelberg and Karlsruhe are also very easy to reach by train. You can also travel to France, e.g. to Strasbourg. If you like hiking, you can do so in the Palatinate Forest with its many castles and huts to stop off at. To discover Germersheim, you can take a guided tour of the town. You can take an electric boat trip (night trip) or a canoe trip on the Rhine. An absolute highlight for the region is the almond blossom, which will be in full bloom during your workcamp. Very beautiful for nature lovers and great photo opportunities www.mandelbluete-pfalz.de.

The municipality of Hohe Börde, with 14 different districts, is located in a rural region 15 kilometres from Magdeburg. The work camp is designed to give young people the opportunity to make new international friends. You are a group of 15 international young people and 15 young people from the municipality of Hohe Börde. The first task after getting to know each other is to put up the circus tent, set up seating and prepare the site. Ideas for the programme are then collected and the next tasks are discussed. This includes rehearsing simple circus tricks, making costumes and requisites and designing the tent. You can give free rein to your creativity and artistic design! In the second week, rehearsals of the entire programme with costumes will take place. And then it's ‘Let the show begin!’. The camp ends with your circus performance in front of an audience and a joint international party.

You can barbecue on the outdoor area and there is a football pitch. Footballs, volleyballs, badminton and other items for leisure activities are provided. The supermarket is just around the corner and the Eichenbarleben castle park is just a few minutes' walk away. The surrounding area with its many fields, farms and nature is easy to explore on foot or by bike. Outdoor pool in Niederndodeleben, shopping centre with shopping facilities and restaurants in Hermsdorf. The nearest railway station is Ochtmersleben (4 km away). From there, you can reach Magdeburg in 16 minutes. At the weekend, it's worth taking a trip to Braunschweig or Hannover.

The accommodation is on the grounds of the kindergarten in Eichenbarleben and has a separate entrance. You will have a large, well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine and the assembly hall as a common room. Shared dormitory in the sports hall. You will sleep on air beds. Showers and toilets are separated by gender. Outdoor area with sports facilities and barbecue area.
You cook together. Money for shopping will be provided for you. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please indicate any intolerances when registering.

German and English language skills. You should be able to ride a bike. Physical fitness for circus training. Please bring sporty, comfortable clothing (trousers/leggings, T-shirts; preferably in black) with you.
