This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming "Ohenro (pilgrims)" who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting "Kakurin-ji temple"; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for "omotenashi (hospitality)". Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

Workshops: Our residents engage in meaningful daily work through two key workshops: gardening and crafting. Gardening: You’ll help maintain our garden in Peterculter, contribute to local garden upkeep, and tend to our kitchen gardens at Craigievar. This work connects residents to nature and fosters a sense of purpose through the process of nurturing food from seed to table.
Crafting: Located just a five-minute walk from our main house, the craft workshop is a hub of creativity, offering materials and opportunities to explore knitting, felting, painting, and more. You’ll support residents while developing your own creative skills.
Life in the Home: Our residents range in age from 18 to 60, each with unique support needs. You will: Provide assistance in line with individual support plans. Help residents maintain daily routines, including providing direct personal care and engaging in household chores.
Leisure Activities: We believe in leading full and joyful lives. You’ll support residents in enjoying activities such as: building skills in homemaking, cooking, and baking. Outings to cafes, restaurants, and shops. Day trips, holidays, or social events. Exercise activities like swimming, walking, cycling, or gym visits. Connecting and building relationships through shared experiences.
Festivals and Celebrations: Festivals, holidays, and birthdays are central to life at Tigh a’Chomainn, helping us connect with the rhythm of the year. You can utilise the local medical centre, gym, cafes, bars, and restaurants. A convenient bus links to Aberdeen City Centre and is free for those under 22. We boast a beach with a dolphin gazing cafe, golf course, surfing and a small amusement park. Aberdeen offers an array of free attractions like museums, shows, botanical parks and galleries. The city also offers opportunities for vibrant nightlife, with a variety of cultural and social events to explore.

Accommodation is on-site or a short walk away, depending on availability. It will be a private room equipped with a bed, storage, and Wi-Fi with access to a shared bathroom. There is access to laundry facilities.
All meals are provided, with access to larders and kitchens for personal meal preparation. You will be expected to eat at communally. There is access to our bike shed and opportunities to join community trips, outings and holidays.
POCKET MONEY AND ALLOWANCES: A monthly subsistence allowance of £200 is provided for personal expenses. All essential items, including meals, accommodation, and personal care items are available.
HOLIDAYS: Volunteers completing a 12-month placement will be entitled to 4 weeks of holiday leave.
For placements shorter than 12 months, holidays will be allocated on the basis of 1 week of leave for every 3 months of work.

Zoom Interviews: will be arranged individually.
After the Zoom interview, if confirmed on the project, applicants should send a certificate of good conduct police check from your home country and the names and contact details of 2 referees.
UK VISA COSTS: All Foundation Year Co-workers will need to apply for a Temporary Work – Charity Worker which offers a stay of up to 12 months. The application fee for this VISA is £298. To apply for the Charity Workers VISA, you will need a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) which will be provided by Concordia at the cost of £25.
For the long-term placement of a year, you will have to pay an Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) which will cost £1035 this allows you to access the National Healthcare Service during your stay in the UK. You will be supported to sign up with a general practitioner (GP) upon your arrival to Tigh a’Chomainn.

This project is actively working for SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with Phoudindaeng Youth Center (PYC) since 2009. PYC's main projects are running a school bus, teaching English in extracurricular classes, supporting the construction of a community center and establishing a library. Considering the increasing demands of villagers, PYC was officially established in 2007 which has played important roles for personal growth, life-long education and formation of leadership skills.
In 2024, 2 workcamps were successfully organized with 8 vols. from Japan, Hong Kong and Myanmar in addition to some local vols. It had been open only to Asian, but from this year, it is open to all over the world!

Lake Gruza (Gruža; pronounced: Gruzha) is located in the central region of Serbia, in the municipality Knić, not far from Kragujevac, regional center, that uses the water from it for drinking. It is surrounded by beautiful nature (even intact in many places), so the guests like to come here often (especially on weekends)! The water is rich in fish, especially carp and pikeperch. Also, this zone is a home for many rare and protected birds (IBA area).
The camp will take place on the edge of the lake, practically, in the center that is suitable for lectures, but also outdoor activities. In the center, there is permanent exhibition "Life in water", that is about different water organisms that live in Serbia and Yugoslavia/Balkan area.
Educative workshops will be organized, as well as some excursions, but more details on that will be written in the Infosheet.
In every case, bring a positive attitude, meeting people from other cultures is really important to the host!

Their focus is mainly on the work with youngsters through different projects and programmes. Important outcome of the efforts in last years is the informative Eco-center on the lake Gruža, whose aim is to educate people about the importance of water eco-systems. Every year thousands of kids visit the center, where they can learn a lot about different ecological topics. The team has biologists, ecologists and pedagogists.
Young Researchers of Serbia (YRS) was founded in 1976. Our main aims are environmental protection and education, promotion of sustainable development, work with young people in an international context, promotion of scientific creativity and voluntarism and its values. Voluntary Service of Serbia is a volunteer exchange service center founded in 1990 as one of the sectors of YRS.

In the mornings, you'll help renovate the farm where our animals live. This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. No previous experience is needed. Volunteers should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors, walking medium to long distances during the cleanups, and during other activities such as sightseeing. Volunteers will receive food supplies and will be in charge of cooking and cleaning. Please note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. PROJECT: The Environmental Awareness and Action project is part of a series of camps organised by SEEDS in cooperation with different partners. SEEDS collaborates with the Icelandic Ministry for Environment and Natural Resources, the City of Reykjavik, and several local stakeholders on a project to clean up the Icelandic coastline. Partners include the Blue Army, an organisation dedicated to the cause of coastal cleaning, SORPA, the waste collection and management entity in the capital area, and Whales of Iceland, an exhibit showcasing life-size models of whales and porpoises to educate the public about their lives and the impact of human activity on their existence.This camp allows volunteers to learn about global and local environmental issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits, as well as to contribute directly to environment protection by joining outdoor cleanup tasks. These cleanup tasks may be arranged in partnership with the above mentioned organisations or run solely by SEEDS. We also aim to involve the local community, so some of our events may be open to the public. We hope participants will learn how to plan and carry out their own trash cleaning projects back at home. This project is based on similar activities around the world, where outstanding results have been achieved with volunteers. Volunteers can choose one of the two options below, included as hands-on volunteering activity in the camp:A day trip combining a visit to the Hellisheioi geothermal power plant, a trash collection in the area, and the Hot River Hike, a hike up a valley filled with hot springs where one can bathe. A day trip to the Reykjanes Peninsula, combined with a coastal cleanup in the area.Please note that all activities are subject to weather conditions and the availability of our partners.

As part of the camp, volunteers help maintain the center through tasks like gardening, renovating the house and other projects such as removing old fences to protect wildlife, marking walking paths, and potentially do forestry work like trimming or planting trees.This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. LOCATION: The accommodation is located an hour drive south-east from ReykjavEk. The house serves as an environmental-educational centre and sits under IngElfsfjall, The Mountain of IngElfur, with a view of EyjafjallajEkull where the volcanic eruptions began in March and April 2010. The place is registered as natural Icelandic heritage; the nature, vegetation and birdlife is rich in variety and quantity. The volunteers can enjoy outdoor activities in a peaceful and beautiful location with a small stream and a pond nearby. Hiking trails with maps about cultural heritage can be found throughout the area, which is a popular attraction among both foreign and local visitors. The nearest town, Selfoss, only 10 minutes-drive away, with 6500 inhabitants, is a centre of commerce and small industries where you find a geothermal swimming pool, shops, museums, cafEs and bars.

The Electra power station in Viesgo began operating at the beginning of the 20th century and was responsible for supplying energy to Cantabria.
Conservation and maintenance practices will be carried out on the accesses and machinery installed there, such as: cleaning, sanding, painting... All of this related to industrial heritage. Another part of the intervention consists of the recovery of the old engine house. In addition, the park of La Central in Puente Viesgo will be presented.

Puente Viesgo is a pretty village of the Autonomic Community of Cantabria, situated inside the ‘Valles Pasiegos’ and just half an hour and 31km from Santander. One of the most beautiful touristic attraction is the ‘Art Rural Centre’ which was created for spreading the archeologic and prehistoric heritage as it has got the ‘Monte Castillo’ caves complex, divided in four caves although only two of those are opened for visiting (‘La Cueva de las Monedas’ (coin cave) and ‘La cueva del Castillo’ (castle cave)). It also has a spa that takes advantage of the medicinal waters of the spring.
The aim of the complementary activities will be to promote solidarity, coexistence, equality and participation:

In almost all places in Germany, there are gravesites from the Second World War that commemorate the victims of war and tyranny. This is also the case in the municipality of Apen in Ammerland. In various small village cemeteries, 14 graves of soldiers aged 17-21 who died just a few days before the end of the war have been preserved. These graves are to be restored and repaired. Your tasks will include cleaning the weathered stones and rebordering the gravesites. Under the guidance of a historian, you will engage in biographical work and historical research and set up information boards with QR codes to raise awareness of commemoration, remembrance and a culture of peace.
The accommodation is approx. 6 to 7 km away from the various work locations. You will be provided with bicycles for the journey to work and for leisure activities. You cycle from Nordloh to Apen in about 20 to 30 minutes, but there are also minibuses available for transfers to the individual work sites.

Bicycles are available for excursions in the surrounding area - the house is located directly on the ?Fehn-Route?, a popular long-distance cycle route. 3 km away is the seafaring village of Bar?el with shopping facilities and a harbour worth seeing. It is 16 km to the climatic health resort of Bad Zwischenahn with the lake ?Zwischenahner Meer?. There is an outdoor swimming pool in Hengstforde, 6 km away. The towns of Leer, Emden, Oldenburg and Bremen are easy to reach by train. Together with young people from Apen, you will go on a canoe trip.

You will definitely be a part of history of these villagers that fought for their nature in this area!
Work itself will be divided into cleaning and arranging paths that lead up to some nice viewpoints of Stara planina ("The old mountain" in Serbian) as well as the local natural swimming pool "Ženski vir" (Women vortex). Also, you will help to clean the spot for creating small picnic area at the top of the hill nearby, where the view on the surroundings is magnificent. Taking care of the river will also be your task during these days.
Second part will be the support in organization of the festival for nature lovers - arranging the centre of village, setting up the stage and info counters, while on the days of the festival, volunteers will support the workers in handing out flyers and in the whole production.

Topli Do, one of the most remote villages of the municipality of Pirot (1 hour drive from there), is located in the Stara planina nature park under its highest peak, Midžor (2,169m).
The village is one of the most authentic villages on Stara planina (it is officially inside the Stara planina Nature Park). Only 7 km from the village is the peak Babin zub (1,759 m) and the famous ski resort Jabučko ravnište. The village is reached from the direction of the village of Temska, where you pass through the canyon of the river Temštica ("Little Colorado"), certainly one of the most beautiful and attractive canyons of this type in Serbia.
What makes Topli Do and its surroundings stand out from other old mountain villages is the abundance of waterfalls, unique in many ways in Serbia. A special attraction about 4 km from the village is the Piljski waterfall - 64 m. About 8 km from the village there is another interesting waterfall, Kurtulski - 27 m high.
In every case, we recommend you to bring just patience and smile and it will be one great adventure!

Accommodation for volunteers will be provided in the adapted building of the agricultural cooperative "Topli Do" - the mountain lodge Topli Do. Accommodation is provided for volunteers in three four-bedded rooms. Blankets and bedding are provided. The building of the mountain lodge itself is a village building adapted for these purposes and is used as a lodge for adventurers and mountaineers throughout the year. The home has a toilet, a bathroom and a shower with hot water.
The local partner, the "Stojanovic" farm, will prepare meals for volunteers and other festival participants during the camp and the festival. Meals will be served in the canteen in the premises of the agricultural cooperative Topli Do, just across the accommodation.

This camp is organized for teenagers by youth sport club Lukas-Basket which has been running national youth camps for 25 years and International ones for the past 12 years. International teenage camps will be hosted on seaside in the West of Estonia in Laanemaa County in the municipality of Nova. Beautiful nature, numerous historical places, 200 years long tradition of health resort, unique cultural events are the treasures of the County. Nova with warm sea, white sand, mushroom and berry crops, picturesque lakes, cobble stone road and many places of interest is ideal place for leisure. The aim of Nova camp is to give young people possibility to have active, healthy and meaningful summer vacations with different sport adventures, to enjoy unspoiled nature and to learn to live in harmony with it, also to explore and realize their own capacities and limits. The program will include water activities, sport and ball games, eco-hikes, bicycle trips to places of interest, horse riding, fishing, rowing, acquaintance with local culture and many other exciting things. Mens sana in corpore sano (Healthy Spirit in Healthy Body) i this is the message of the camp Besides all this, camp gives possibility for intensive contacts between local youth and their peers from abroad, showing youngsters the diversity of world cultures, broadening their horizons and encouraging active communication through games and creative activities. Finally, there will be some voluntary work for nature protection and to support local community. The area of the camp is about 3 hectares and it can host over 60 youngsters on one shift. She started this home for senior citizens who need quality home care services to seniors with limited mobility or dementia and hence social interaction. She started this home in 2000 and the second home in 2018. The founder belief “life shouldn’t end when you are old, it should be full of happy memories regardless of the age. The founder wants to keep the seniors active and engaged through physical, mental and social activities, all in the comfort of their home.The workcamp was revived in 2023 and in 2024, 8 volunteers from Japan and Hong Kong did great work!

Come to our camp if you feel that…
You are a young lover of the environment and heritage recovery. Your volunteer work will contribute to recovering rural roads to connect population centres and the restoration of the old fountain of Lozoyuela. This will mean that you can participate in activities in which you will connect with nature and local culture, as well as improving the accessibility and transitability of routes for residents and visitors of the municipality. The young participants will have the opportunity to participate in environmental awareness campaigns and restoration work on the old fountain.

Each day of the camp will have a program completed by local coordinators and volunteers will be helping to realize it. The main activities will be intercultural learning through finding differences and similarities between Estonia and countries, where volunteers come from (history, traditions, language, singing, dancing, etc). It will be done through art, games, drama, sport, discussions. We expect active volunteers with the good knowledge of history and culture of their country and ability to present it. After placement volunteers will be contacted by organizers to get involved and guided in the preparation of the program before arrival to Estonia. Special requirementsYou have to love kids and be well motivated to work with them. The work demands 24-hours commitment and it can be pretty hard sometimes. Weekend is not free Experience in work with children is an advantage. We expect active volunteers with good knowledge of history and culture of their country and ability to present it. Moreover, volunteer should be good enough in some art to be able to lead a workshop for kids. All exciting ideas of activities for kids, games etc are welcome. English and Russian are the camp languages.Participation feeWe ask participants to contribute 50 Euro each towards the costs of general administration. This fee has to be paid by bank transfer before the beginning of the camp. If you cannot make bank transfer please contact your organization.

Tallinn youth centre Youth Club Active runs children s camp in Vihasoo for over 30 years. The aim of Vihasoo camp is to give children possibility of active and meaningful summer vacations. The base of Vihasoo lies 70km from Tallinn. The camp is located on the territory of Lahemaa National Park. The wonderful nature, proximity to the sea (about 100m), good facilities i all this makes Vihasoo camp ideal place for leisure. Such location brings children closer to nature and gives them an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with Estonian national heritage richly presented in the area. Each summer period of the camp has its own theme. The purpose of this one is to discover different countries and cultures through artistic expression which could be dancing or singing, national style party, music or art of any kind i anything volunteer is good at. The idea is to have intercultural diversity to be presented to kids. We want to give children opportunity to discover differences in cultures, that they can learn it and reflect after. To achieve this aim Vihasoo camp invites international volunteers to join it as animators. Most of children are Russian-speaking from minority communities of Estonia. The area of the camp is 1,8 ha. It can host about 80 children on one shift. The age is 13-16. This camp named Our Theme is designed to introduce children to modern contemporary art trends and cultural expressions in a fun and engaging way. Over eight days, participants will explore a variety of artistic styles, including hard bass, body art, rap, beatboxing, tectonics, C-Walk, breakdance, hip hop, drums, shuffle, and more. Talented artists and experienced mentors will lead interactive workshops and masterclasses, helping children develop new skills, express creativity, and gain confidence in artistic self-expression. The highlight of the camp is a final live performance, where participants will showcase their newly acquired talents during an open event at a local club, inviting the public to join in a lively party and disco. Together we will continue to expand the mine tour route. The aim of this project is to highlight the discharge chimney, which allowed the dumping of fill into the wagons, at the time when the mine was still exploited (from the medieval period until the 20th century). To do this, there will first be the removal of backfill at the top of the chimney which will be followed by the construction of a dry stone wall to support the vaults. Secondly, we will build a small stone staircase. There will be 4 working days per week, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This work does not require any particular skills and will be supervised by a technical supervisor.

The hamlet of the Vallauria mine is located at an altitude of 1500 metres. The site is in the middle of the mountains, crossed by the river. We are 10 km from the village of Tende 06430 (2 hours from Nice by train) and 50 km from Ventimiglia (Italy).
In addition to the weekend, one day in the middle of each week will be devoted to discovery and entertainment activities. You will discover the mountain environment, with its fauna and flora and the surrounding hikes (hiking on the archaeological site of the Vallee des Merveilles in the Mercantour National Park). You will have the opportunity to discover the historical and cultural heritage of the region, visit the surrounding villages and meet the inhabitants of the valley. You can also do sporting and thrilling activities such as canyoning, via ferrata, climbing, etc. We will organize activities and entertainment on site according to the wishes of each person in the group.

The accommodation is located on the construction site. You will be accommodated in dormitory rooms with 4 to 6 beds equipped with mattresses, pillows and bathroom facilities. Please bring your sleeping bag. You will participate in the collective and daily life of the group and the place. Food is provided in the budget, and meals will be prepared by you in turn, accompanied by the group life facilitator and in a kitchen with all the necessary equipment. You will participate in cleaning dishes and tidying up dining areas and the kitchen. Specific foods may be requested in order to cook typical dishes from each country or region. It is also possible to request vegetarian meals.

The Neige & Merveilles association welcomes you to the heart of the Mercantour National Park at an altitude of 1,500 m to work in the Vallauria mine, which is part of the archaeological, historical and scientific heritage of the Alpes Maritimes. This silver lead and zinc mine justifies the mining archeology studies and the conservation and development work that we have been carrying out with the municipality of Tende for around ten years. Its medieval part represents an exceptional geological heritage, inseparable from that represented by the Mercantour park and the archaeological riches of the mythical Vallee des Merveilles, a soon to be classified UNESCO site, located a two-hour walk away.

This is the 26th year (the year after big jubilee, and 24 year short for the next big one) that this camp has been active in YRS and this long-lasting tradition speaks for itself. After 20 years, the Glossy Ibis was spotted in the Obedska pond, bird that is so important to this wetland area. It is one of the few places in Europe where you can see it and that's why the role of volunteers is so crucial in helping to maintain the area.
The work consists of taking out invasive species and bushes while cleaning up the wetland soil that enables it to be inhabited by various species. It is ecological project on a larger scale, so keep in mind that you will have to "destroy" a lot of small trees and plants in order to make space for the other ones (that are not so "agressive"). It will give the opportunity for diversity, although it might not seem like that, so for those who can't stand to look and do that, this will probably not be the right place.

Kupinovo is a village located in the municipality of Pećinci, Serbia. As of 2011 census, the village has 1,866 inhabitants. It is near the famous biodiversity area, the Obedska bara (Obedska pond or bog). Kupinovo is a place rich in cultural and historical sights. The most interesting are: Kupinik Fortress, a medieval fortification from the 14th century, the Church of Saint Luke from the half of the 15th century (the oldest Serbian church in the area), the Church of Mother Angelina from the 16th century and the ethno-complex with objects of folk architecture.
The end of village is the beginning of a huge forest, so pleasant walks can be taken daily. Also, the important river Sava is very near, so going to its banks, can also be one relaxing leisure activity. Swimming is possible, although the beach is not big and decorated.
Since the village is not full of activities and local youth is not numerous, days can be really long there (which suits to some people that seek a quiet place to have rest of fast civilization, but is terrible to the others who want constant dynamic constellation), so be aware of it. Depending on the group preferences, different activities can be organized. At least one visit to Belgrade (capital of Serbia and jewel of world culture) will take place (there are many buses during the day).
In surroundings there are few museums and aqua-parks, but the transport is not great, so some creativity and flexibility in planning is always welcome!
In every case, the project can be wonderful, but also boring, it is up to the group (it is the best and worst reviewed camp we have, depending on year and every person's point of view), so we recommend you only to bring patience and smile, because with them you will be in the first part, among those who had unforgettable adventure in remote Serbian village with friendly locals!

The volunteers will either stay in two renovated ethno-houses in Ethno Park in Kupinovo, either in the house where previous village offices were (the precise information will be in the Infosheet). In every case, it will be on beds inside.
The food will be prepared for the volunteers by local housewives, with the accent on national cuisine (a lot of meat prepared in creative ways, but vegetarian meals will be possible, of course).
