Most of the time volunteers will work at the Jewish cemetery and in the Shakhs synagogue where you will help with the maintenance of outdoor areas (cleaning pavements, weeding, cutting and raking grass, maintaining graveyards, etc.) You will also help with the preparation of the Jewish Culture Festival which takes place in Holesov during the workcamp (moving and installing various equipment for events etc.). The work can sometimes be moderately physically demanding. Please, bring suitable shoes and working clothes. You will also work on the weekend (because of the festival) but you will get enough time off on other days.

Location: The project takes place in Holesov (12,000 inhabitants), a historical town located in the south-east of the Czech Republic. It is well known for its important Jewish heritage such as a rare synagogue from the 16th century or Holesov cemetery - an important place of pilgrimage for Jews. There is good phone coverage everywhere around the town, ATMs and pharmacies.
Free time: During the free time volunteers can go on a trip to the UNESCO site of Kromeriz, visit the pilgrimage hill of Hostyn or the open-air museum of folk architecture in Rymice. You will also have free entry to all cultural activities organized by the Cultural Center.
Study part: You will learn a lot about Jewish culture and its heritage through visiting local monuments and experiencing the Jewish Culture Festival (concerts, performances, films etc.). You will also have a chance to meet the local community during a barbecue or at a traditional lunch with the representatives of the community town.

Volunteers will be accommodated in a house near the workplace, sleeping on matrasses all together in one room. Please, bring a sleeping bag. There are 2 toilets in the acommodation, showers are apart in the castle complex approximately 500 meters from the accommodation. WIFI is not available in the building - only at the synagogue and the castle. Volunteers will cook meals together as a group. If you need to use washing machines, it can be arranged.

The extra fee covers costs of the project not covered by public funding (for example support for campleaders, administrative costs of iNEX-SDA). The fee is paid in advance electronically and non-refundable unless proof of severe obstacle (for example illness) is provided.

The workcamp is organised in cooperation with Municipal Cultural Center Holesov, a non-profit organization that manages most of the Jewish monuments in the city and organizes the Festival of Jewish Culture. The workcamp takes place in Holesov, a small Moravian town, known for its large pre- second world war Jewish community. There is an important Jewish heritage in Holesov – an old synagogue and also a grave of one of the greatest Jewish scholars - Rabbi Shakh. The goal of this workcamp is to maintain the Jewish cemetery, help with the organization of the festival and learn about Jewish heritage. At this workcamp, you will actively contribute to the achievement of United Nation Sustainable Development Goal 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities.

Becin Castle is an early Ottoman Castle on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Volunteers will be helping the professional excavation team will take part in unearthing the history, and also will be helping the environmental arrangement and cleaning of the site, maintenance, basic repairing work, and landscaping.
Due to the hot weather in the summer months, excavations usually start at early morning and end between 2 pm and 3 pm. There maybe changes in working program hours. The exact program will be available till the summer season. Due to the hot weather, work starts early in the morning and ends in the afternoon. Precautions such as sun-proof awnings are in place.
You are not expected to be experienced in this archaeological study, where you can witness history up close.

Many activities await you in Mugla City, a city with full of touristic, historical and natural beauties. This region, full of ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman heritages that you can visit, is also 45 minutes away from the sea. You can enjoy your free time with the excavation team and volunteers in this region where you can enjoy the sea, sand and sun. Plus, we will have educational workshops for you!

Volunteers will stay in the lodging belonging to the excavation directorate. There is air conditioning in the rooms. There is a toilet, bathroom, kitchen and dining hall. Volunteers can watch the stars on the terrace on dark nights. Breakfasts and dinners will be served at the lodge. Lunches will be served at the house in the excavation area. Volunteers will prepare their meals together with the excavation team.

This Work Camp is held during the Dana Cup, and there are therefore plenty of tasks that will ensure the event will run smoothly.
Work Camp participants must help with the establishment of an event area, catering for 20.000 football players as well as practical tasks such as painting accommodation cabins and maintaining outdoor areas.
During the two weeks of Work Camp, you will assist with general support and logistics before the tournament begins, maintenance of outdoor- and indoor areas, cleaning, kitchen assistance, event creations and reparation of dormitories in Dana Cup Town.
The work is expected to be arranged in two shifts from 08:00-21:00.

During your stay in Northern Jutland, you will have time to explore some unique nature and attractions in Denmark. You can, for example, arrange a day trip to Skagen, the most Northern tip of Denmark where two oceans meet. Skagen is famous for the special light which has attracted many painters, cosy yellow and red houses and much more. You can also visit the city of Hj?rring, or take a day trip to Aalborg.
One of the neighbouring towns called Hirtshals has the biggest Aquarium in Northern Europe. And in another neighbouring town is the biggest summer amusement park in Denmark.
Your Work Camp leaders will help you and the group with organising activities in your spare time. It is free to enjoy the beautiful nature of Northern Jutland, but some activities might require an extra charge. The host will not cover additional charges.

Sleeping + bathroom facilities:
Participants are sleeping in tents, and we will provide the linens, duvet etc. Participants are of course welcome to bring their sleeping bags or similar if needed or wished upon. There are both baths and toilets available. Laundry facilities are available for free.
Meals + kitchen facilities:
The host will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the volunteers will be eating with other volunteers and event participants. Vegetarian and vegan food will be provided.

English will be the only language spoken. All participants must be willing to speak English, even though they are from the same country or have trouble with the English language. Try your best!
Unfortunately, the job involves some physical work and therefore we cannot offer any work to volunteers with disabilities. Participants must be willing to do manual work, work that is for the most part outdoors.

A non-profit organisation runs the Dana Cup, and the event is one of the world's largest international youth soccer tournaments.
Every year, in the last week of July, the soccer tournament brings together around 20.000 young people between 12-19 years old and their coaches. They come to Hj?rring in northern Denmark from 45 different nations, representing 1000 football teams.
Dana Cup Week brings a great party in Hj?rring and the atmosphere is amazing! It is the fifth Work Camp at this huge sports event, and it was a great experience in 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023. We are very excited for another camp in 2024.

You love nature and history ? Come help restore the historical stone quarries of Saint-Paul-Trois-Chateaux, a site full of hidden treasures !
Did you know that the stones from this small town in the Drome region were used to build monuments in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, and even New-York ? Today, this remarkable site still bears traces of this once-flourishing industry.
By joining this project, you will contribute to the preservation of the local heritage.
Your mission: restore access paths damaged by erosion and protect local wildlife. On steep, wooded, and rocky terrain, you will set up drainage channels to facilitate water flow and prevent further degradation, as well as build steps to make the area more accessible. This work is a continuation of the restoration work carried out over the past three years. It requires dedication but provides an immersive and enriching experience.
Whether you're a history buff, nature lover or simply looking for a meaningful human adventure, this is the project for you!
No prior skills are required - just motivation and the desire to contribute to a valuable initiative in the heart of the Drome Provencale.

In your free time, you will enjoy a diverse program to explore the area and engage with locals. You will sleep in individual tents (provided by Concordia) set up on a dedicated site near the municipal stadium. This location is just a few minutes from the town center. Access will be secured with keys provided to participants to control entry and exit. The stadium?s locker rooms will be separated, with single-sex sanitary and shower areas, ensuring comfort and privacy. A communal hall will be available for meals and will also serve as a shelter in case of extreme weather.
Tasks will be shared collectively, and meals will be prepared together. A budget will be allocated to the team leaders, and you will participate in grocery shopping, prioritizing healthy and locally sourced products and vegetarian meals. A laundromat is located a 7-minute walk from the accommodation, and its use will be at the participants? expense. There is no Wi-Fi on-site but you can hotspot with other volunteers.

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If there are health issues on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

The town of Rohan welcomes you for its first international project and needs you to enhance the chapel of Saint-Gouvry! You will work on the renovation of the chapel's surrounding walls. This will be an opportunity for you to learn traditional masonry techniques, but also to meet unforgettable people, and to discover a little green paradise that runs along the Nantes-Brest canal.

Rohan is a small piece of Brittany close to the city of Pontivy, sub-prefecture of Morbihan. The municipality is crossed by the Nantes-Brest canal where you can take beautiful bike rides.

You will be accommodated in tents (provided by Concordia), at the Val d'Oust campsite which is a 5-minute walk from the site! Group life will be organized nearby in a room made available to the group. You will share the various group tasks and group activities. Together, you will participate in organizing group life (cleaning, activities, etc.) and in preparing meals, in turn, using products that you will purchase nearby. The facilitators will have a budget dedicated to covering these expenses, but you will be in charge of preparing the menus and doing your shopping. A vegetarian diet with local and seasonal products will be favored. This while respecting the participants' diets and discovering local cuisines.

Strand, Natur und Wellenrauschen: kommt mit uns in die Bretagne!
Auf der "Ile Ilur" erlebt ihr ein Workcamp der besonderen Art: die Insel nur mit Hilfe eines privaten Boots zu erreichen. Als Teilnehmende unseres Workcamps aber bringen wir euch dieses einmalige Naturschutzgebiet im Golf von Morbihan näher :-). In einer Gruppe von französischen und deutschen Jugendlichen übernehmt ihr Aufgaben in den Bereichen von Umwelt-/Naturschutz und Erhaltung/Aufwertung des kulturellen Erbes. Hier ein paar Beispiele für mögliche Tätigkeiten eurerseits auf der Insel:
o Strand säubern/pflegen
o Pflanzen pflegen / Pflanzenschutz
o Wege wieder frei legen
o leichte Renovierungsarbeiten; z.B. Trockenmauern restaurieren; Instandhaltungs-
und Verschönerungsarbeiten des traditionell-bretonischen „Dorfs“ der Insel
Im Vordergrund steht aber natürlich vor allem auch der Austausch und das gemeinsame soziale Miteinander zwischen euch Teilnehmenden. Es gibt auch immer ein spannendes Freizeitprogramm mit Ausflügen, Spiel und Sport.
Für An-und Abreisekosten zum Camp wird es voraussichtlich auch in diesem Jahr wieder einen Fahrtkostenzuschuss von bis zu max. 200 Euro geben.
Noch gut zu wissen: Das Camp findet schon seit vielen Jahren mit viel positivem Feedback statt :-) In diesem Jahr hat das Camp eine Teenage Gebühr von 250€; dafür bekommt ihr aber erstmalig auch eine Fahrtkostenrückerstattung (abhängig von der Entfernung eures Wohnortes) bis maximal 200€.

Eure Arbeit findet auf der Insel Ilur statt. Ein privat gemietetes Boot bringt euch an den Arbeitstagen zur Insel.
Die 1 km lange Insel ist Teil des Archipel d'Arz im Golf von Mohiban. Sie ist wild und geschützt: Während sie einst das Zuhause von 9 Familien war, die Kartoffelanbau und Schafhaltung betrieben, lebt heute nur noch ein Küstenwächter dort; gemeinsam mit einer Schafherde. Dieser kümmert sich das ganze Jahr um die Pflege der Insel; er wacht über Hecken, Wiesen und die landschaftliche Vielfalt und freut sich über eure Unterstützung im Sommer ;-).
Backöfen und das Dorf bezeugen heute die damalige Existenz der Familien und sollen als kulturelles Erbe erhalten bleiben. Hierzu braucht es Pflege- und bsiweilen Renovierungsarbeiten.
In den 50er Jahren wurde die Insel privatisiert. Seit 2008 ist sie dank einer großzügigen privaten Spende einer Bretonin im Besitz der Küstenschutzbehörde. So kann der kleine Schatz im Golf von Morhiban nun mit Sorgfalt instand gehalten werden.

Außerhalb eurer Arbeit auf der Insel seid ihr auf einem Campingplatz auf dem Festland, nahe der Insel untergebracht, wo ihr schlaft in 2-Personen Zelten (Zelte werden gestellt; bitte aber Luftmatratze/Isomatte und Schlafsack mitbringen).
Ihr kocht gemeinsam und beteilligt euch in Koch - und Putzgruppen an den anfallenden Aufgaben. Geld für die Verpflegung wird zur Verfügung gestellt.
Requisiti e materiali
Neben Englisch bietet dieses Camp in der Regel auch Gelegenheit, viel Farnzösisch zu sprechen. Französisch Kenntnisse sind daher von Vorteil. Es gibt einen Platz für eine Person, die älter als 18 Jahre sein darf, wenn diese als Ansprechpartnerin für die deutschen Teilnehmenden in diesem Camp fungiert.

Die deutsch-französischen Teenagecamps in der Bretagne werden von unserer französischen Partnerorganisation „La Ligue de l’Enseignement“ organisiert und durchgeführt. Bei der „Ligue“ handelt es sich um eine Organisation für außerschulische Bildung, die bereits seit 150 Jahren existiert und auf lokaler, regionaler und nationaler Ebene vertreten ist. Die „Ligue“ organisiert zahlreiche unterschiedliche Angebote im Bereich der außerschulischen Jugendbildung – etwa im kulturellen, sportlichen und allgemeinbildenden Bereich. Hierbei stellt u.a. die Organisation und Durchführung der deutsch-französischen Jugendcamps in der Bretagne ein wichtiges Aufgabenfeld ihrer Arbeit dar.
Die ijgd organisieren seit 1949 Freiwilligendienste. Wir sind ein unabhängiger, gemeinnütziger Verein der internationalen Jugendarbeit, anerkannter freier Träger der Jugendhilfe und eine der größten und ältesten Workcamp-Organisationen in Deutschland. Jedes Jahr begleiten wir rund 5.000 junge Menschen in Diensten im In- und Ausland. Dabei haben diese die Möglichkeit, kreativ zu sein, solidarisch zu handeln, Eigenverantwortung zu übernehmen und ihre eigenen Potenziale und Kompetenzen zu entdecken. Unsere Partnerschaft mit der Ligue de l’Enseignement besteht schon über viele Jahre.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming "Ohenro (pilgrims)" who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting "Kakurin-ji temple"; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for "omotenashi (hospitality)". Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

Children Development is one of the major programs at VIN Integrated Community Development Approach. The Goal of the Childrens development program is to protect the rights of all children by providing them access to basic quality education, developing their life skills (creativity, leadership etc.) and providing access to health and hygiene services. VIN has different projects under children s development program such as Children s Clubs (CC), Early Childhood Development (ECD), School Attendance (Teacher Development, Parenting Education, School Infrastructure Development, and Child Sponsorship), and Child Care. Even these days in Nepal, schools are focused mainly on examination and are not doing enough to develop life skills like creativity and leadership for children. Teachers only focus on reading and writing U? 1/2 rote learning. Creativity and individual differences in children are not explored. Due to the busy work schedule of parents, most of the children do not have an opportunity to socialize and be creative. These types of camps are so essential to provide life skills development opportunities to children aged between 5-12 years old. We work only with disadvantaged communities as these families cannot afford to take their children to holidays during their Winter and Summer breaks. Children don t have a proper structure and environment at home or a school to develop their innate talents. Children s camp (during winter and summer breaks) is one of the best places to explore their natural skills such as creativity and leadership. In this work camp, national and international volunteers will facilitate different types of fun and creative activities for the children where VIN works. Objectives: To provide unique opportunities for overall development (social, emotional, physical, mental, creativity) and provide a fun time for children aged between 5 and 12 utilizing their vacation period. To promote friendship, understanding, and solidarity among local young volunteers and cross-national volunteers. During this lively festival, people throw colored powders and water to share blessings and celebrate a bountiful harvest. Originally a Hindu tradition, Holi is now celebrated by many, including non-Hindus across South Asia and beyond. The festivities include gathering with family and friends, playing music, and enjoying special foods and drinks. Volunteers help prepare and celebrate the Holi festival in the community.

ProgramThere are diverse activities in the camp program: canoeing, water scootering, running ATV, paintball in the forest, sport games - football, rugby, volleyball, athletics, table tennis, archery, frisbee, disc-golf, trampolines, different competitions, forest cross, sport orientation in the forest on and on sea (navigation), fishing, Viking boats, bicycle trips to explore the area, visit to the horse farm with horse riding, excursions historical places of interest in the area, active games and adventure trail in Roosta Adventure Park, picnics on a seaside, building sand and stones castles on the beach, Estonian sauna party, etc. Bikes are available for the whole camp duration free of charge. WorkThere will be also some voluntary work such as painting of community buildings, making wooden toys and games for local orphanage, repairing benches and tables, cleaning local beach and old local park from garbage, planting trees, little renovation works in the local school, clearing pavement, helping seniors living in the community with some household duties, preparing fire woods for heating, berries and herbs picking to give the crop to the orphanage and seniors home, duty in a kitchen and around the camp once in a shift, etc. The work will be organised in cooperation with local forestry department, municipality of Nova and local school. Please note that the work described above is planned for the whole summer and it may change from one shift to another depending on local needs, the season and weather conditions.

Since neither EstYES nor its local camp partner, does not receive financial support for this camp from municipality or private sources, to realize this camp we have to charge participation fee of 500 Euro, which covers all camp and program costs including transfer from Tallinn to and from the camp, and which has to be paid by bank transfer before the camp or by participants upon arrival to the camp. This camp is organized for teenagers by youth sport club Lukas-Basket which has been running national youth camps for 25 years and International ones for the past 12 years. International teenage camps will be hosted on seaside in the West of Estonia in Laanemaa County in the municipality of Nova. Beautiful nature, numerous historical places, 200 years long tradition of health resort, unique cultural events are the treasures of the County. Nova with warm sea, white sand, mushroom and berry crops, picturesque lakes, cobble stone road and many places of interest is ideal place for leisure. The aim of Nova camp is to give young people possibility to have active, healthy and meaningful summer vacations with different sport adventures, to enjoy unspoiled nature and to learn to live in harmony with it, also to explore and realize their own capacities and limits. The program will include water activities, sport and ball games, eco-hikes, bicycle trips to places of interest, horse riding, fishing, rowing, acquaintance with local culture and many other exciting things. Mens sana in corpore sano (Healthy Spirit in Healthy Body) i this is the message of the camp Besides all this, camp gives possibility for intensive contacts between local youth and their peers from abroad, showing youngsters the diversity of world cultures, broadening their horizons and encouraging active communication through games and creative activities. Finally, there will be some voluntary work for nature protection and to support local community. The area of the camp is about 3 hectares and it can host over 60 youngsters on one shift. Come to our camp if you feel that…
Thanks to archaeology, the remains of our cultural ancestors can be found, studied and understood. You do not need experience to participate in “Paper Road”. You will work with an archaeologist and historian. The volunteer camp takes place at the foot of the mountain, in the Paular valley, a place historically linked to the Los Batanes estate as a model of industrial development such as the use of different hydraulic devices to take advantage of water energy. This is where the galley proofs with which the first edition of Don Quixote was published were produced.
Why participate in our field?
In “Camino de Papel”, participants will carry out a series of specific archaeological activities in different locations with the aim of discovering archaeological remains based on previous research.
For 15 days, you will be able to enjoy a special vacation, meeting people from other regions and countries.
Tasks specific to the field of volunteering
Clearing and cleaning of existing vegetation , both inside and outside and around the perimeter of archaeological structures.
Manual cleaning and scraping of construction parts (walls, floors, etc.) , removing vegetation that is harmful to architectural elements. If archaeological objects are found, they will be collected, documented and stored for later study.
Excavate certain structures using archaeological methodology , developing strict stratigraphic documentation of the levels of deposition and the construction units that may exist in the subsoil. In this process, all archaeological material will be collected. An archaeological survey is also planned.
Register all archaeological material collected for research and subsequent storage in the Regional Archaeological Museum of the Community of Madrid, as established by current legislation.

Activating kids in the city camp and providing them with cross-cultural learning experience. Volunteers will do it by using various informal methods of teaching as well as small group techniques. The activities to be held by a team of volunteers may include the following: playing the games and performing music that are popular in the countries the volunteers represent; training kids to perform pieces of amateur drama; preparing festivals; providing intellectual and sport games as well as discussions; preparing quests to combine with excursions round the places of interest; organizing actions for peace and nature protection; leading and supporting kids in their work on the team projects within the topics related to the main theme of the summer. Volunteers are responsible for the day activities in the camp. The work can be quite hard, involving long working hours, requiring high level of commitment and responsibility. You will stay with campers from 10:00 to 17:00 (45-minute lunch is included) and spend about another hour to prepare and finalize next day activities and feedback. Working days are from Monday to Friday plus one duty Saturday; Sundays are days off except the one after arrival. The local participants are mainly youngsters from minority groups of Tallinn whose family s languages include Russian. Based on the previous year, we expect a number of kids/teens participants in one camp shift as up to 40. Volunteers will work in pairs facilitating and leading a smaller group of 10 - 12 children or less during the day and change the groups every 2-3 days.During the first three days of the workcamp after arrival, volunteers will be given the training on the camp methodology and some time to prepare themselves to meet the kids/teens on Monday and further carry out their tasks in the camp. For this reason, it is important to arrive on time.

There are 2 options possible (subject to availability, which will become clear by the start of the project):1) The premises of The Language School In Down-Town located on the 4th and 5th floors of a business building in the city centre. In summer time, a part of the school is reserved for the volunteers accommodation that includes several separate dormitory bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, a small dining area, a large shower area and two separate toilet cabins. Bed linen, towels, pillows and blankets will be provided, so you do NOT need to bring a sleeping bag unless you want so. For the reasons of security, volunteers will be issued only one set of keys. To facilitate a smooth and safe environment at school during the off-hours, the entrance to the school must be kept closed at all times. The access to the school and accommodation areas will be managed by long-term volunteers or school staff. Please be aware that between 01:00 a.m. and 09:00 a.m. the access to the building will be closed. Catering will be organized by the school on an agreement with the volunteers (selection of times, meals - provided or volunteers cook, etc.).2) A furnished shared apartment in the residential area of Tallinn. Volunteers will be issued two sets of keys. The apartment has three-four dormitory bedrooms and all necessary facilities, and it takes about 20 minutes to get to the city center by public transport. Public transport cards will be provided. Volunteers will cook their breakfast meals themselves (food for a standard European breakfast will be provided); dinner meals will be served at school between 18:00 and 19:00; lunches will be organized for the whole camp (including kids/teens) in the city centre.Please note: it is not possible to stay at any of the camp accommodation options before or after the camp arrival and departure days. If you need a place to stay before or after the workcamp dates, we can help you to book a hostel in Tallinn.

Special requirementsYou have to be really motivated to work with kids. Please provide a letter of your motivation along with the application form. An experience of working with children is an advantage. Your ideas and actual preparation to do the activities for kids are essential, so a successful volunteer will be required to meet the team online to discuss and complete some preliminary preparation. We ask you to bring some materials: postcards, posters, symbols of your country, music or popular national games etc., which can be used during your country presentation. We expect active volunteers with a good knowledge of history and culture of their country as well as with an ability and wish to present it to others in a creative way. B2 level of English is required. The age of volunteers is from 20 to 33. Please note that before making a final decision about your participation in the camp, the project coordinator will have a video interview with you.Participation feeWe ask participants to contribute 50 Euro towards the costs of general administration. If you apply for two shifts in a row the participation fee is 80 Euro. This fee has to be paid by bank transfer before the beginning of the camp. This project is organized for local children by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALPS) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. Some international teenage participants may randomly join. The common project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to children and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication using the learning-by-doing method and organizing alternative English language practice. The project gets youngsters familiar with customs and traditions of the countries from all over the world and encourages them to develop their cross-cultural thinking and tolerance as well as global thinking and individual initiative. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Collective living will be at the heart of this experience: you will share daily tasks and prepare meals together. After a first collaboration in 2019 on the archaeological site of Samara, the EPCC of the Somme has decided to renew our partnership for an exciting new project: the exploration and enhancement of the underground tunnels of the Doullens citadel. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to preserving and showcasing historical heritage while engaging young international volunteers in a mission of discovery and cultural transmission. The city of Doullens and the EPCC are fully dedicated to welcoming volunteers and will ensure a friendly and enriching experience. Many interactions with locals and community members are planned, providing a deep immersion into the region’s culture and history. This work camp is a unique opportunity to actively contribute to the preservation of an iconic site while sharing meaningful moments with the local community.

+ Volunteering: There will be various smaller tasks in Hötensleben. You will be doing some maintenance work at the border memorial, mowing and building new wooden seating areas. Other small jobs for the local infrastructure will be added.
+ Learning from history: You will not only work on the border memorial, but will of course also be given a lot of background information on the history of the Iron Curtain and the division of Germany, as well as going on excursions to other thematically relevant places of interest.
Thinking about peace: What is Peace for you? When and how is peace in danger? Share your personal point of view and the reality in your home country with other volunteers and with local villagers.
+ Exchange with local villagers: Peace will be one topic to share and to discuss, but you will also get to know local associations and be able to exchange ideas about everyday life today. They are very excited to meet you and will be glad to share stories with you about their experience in this border area. It would be great if you can speak a bit of German and/or are able to communicate with a phone translator.

Hötensleben is a little village with about 2,500 inhabitants. International workcamps have been taking place there for some 25 years, so local inhabitants are looking forward to welcome the volunteers. Many activities will be done together with locals, e.g. the voluntary fire brigade of Hötensleben. Volunteers should be interested in German contemporary history. We will work at and visit historical places and commemoration sites related to Germany’s history.
You will be given bicycles so that you can be mobile in your free time and, for example, go to the swimming pool.

You will stay in the former village hall that is renovated now and includes several holiday apartments’. They offer a quite comfortable stay and ensure enough room for everyone. There are different sleeping rooms with beds provided and a good equipped kitchen as well. Wifi-acess is limited. Bear in mind that the ground floor of the building is used for different activites during the week, and don’t be scared if you see some unfamiliar faces roaming around!
Your group of volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking together. The food will be bought with the camp budget and everybody will take turns for cooking, washing the dishes and cleaning. In order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage volunteers to reduce meat and try more sustainable dishes.

You will be hosted in a very special village. From 1961 to 1989, the Wall with its martial border fortifications ran right next to the village. It divided Germany into two parts and was part of the so-called Iron Curtain. The people of Hötensleben lived in a restricted zone for almost 30 years and always had the Wall in view. To this day, 400 metres of the border fortifications have been preserved as a memorial and are visited by many visitors. 2025 marks the 35th anniversary of German reunification. This should be taken as a sign of hope for Germany, Korea and the whole world and from the basis for further discussions. Questions about war and peace, migration and its causes, isolation and violence are unfortunately still very topical issues today. This project in Hötensleben gives you the opportunity to learn more about the time of the Iron Curtain and the division of Germany and to reflect on what peace means to you and how you can contribute to it. At the end, you will present your personal perspective on the topic of "peace" to the local villagers and discuss it with them. German speakers are therefore particularly welcome.

Background: Amphibians are among the most endangered native animal species groups. Of the 20 native amphibian species found in Germany, only 6 species are not endangered according to the current Red List. In some regions, some have already disappeared. In order to preserve these fascinating animals in the long term, habitat protection is no longer sufficient. For this reason, conservation breeding of particularly endangered species is becoming increasingly important. In this way, the species can be preserved in the long term under controlled conditions and also be available as donor populations for reintroduction projects.
Project objective: Construction of an outdoor facility for keeping and breeding endangered amphibian species
For the nature-identical keeping of amphibians, the construction of a spacious outdoor terrarium makes sense. Only in the open air are the animals exposed to the effects of the weather and seasons in the same way as in the wild, but they are protected from their natural enemies. In order to create a near-natural habitat, it is necessary to provide all sub-habitats such as the summer habitat, the reproduction water and a hibernation area. In addition, a species-appropriate design with hiding places, natural vegetation and basking areas is required. The common goal is to build an open-air terrarium of more than 200 m² under expert guidance and to produce the interior furnishings. The interior design is of particular interest. The design for the target species yellow-bellied toad, tree frog and midwife toad must be planned together. The area is then jointly modeled and equipped with typical biotope props. This includes the construction of one or more spawning ponds and a hibernation site as well as the provision of daytime hiding places made of stone layers, dry stone walls, wood piles and rootstocks. These must be placed according to the requirements of the species being cultivated and combined with suitable natural planting. The first inhabitants can be introduced once the enclosure has been successfully established.

The lodgement of the camp is Granja Sports Hall, a very large indoor sports hall, with internet. It will be divided into a dormitory area and a large multipurpose area. The dormitory will be adapted with camp beds, and it will be separated for boys and girls with movable dividers. ThereIs an adjoining bathouse with ladies bathroom and gentlemen bathroom. We provide breakfast, lunch, snakc and dinner.

Second oldest workcamp in YRS focuses on the natural protected reserve "Kraljevac" and what it has to offer to the locals and visitors.
In order to preserve the important balance in the zone, volunteers will work on the areas around the lake, cleaning up the bank, taking care of the fishing place, restoring the paths, etc. There are, also, some bad plants (roots, invasive species) that need to be removed, so that the eco-system can thrive. Also, some areas with long grass will be cut and restored in order. Benches and places for visitors will be fixed, if necessary.

On the edge of Deliblatska peščara (Deliblato Sands, the largest sand area in Europe), in the midst of the Vojvodina plains, in the picturesque village of Deliblato, lies an oasis of peace-Special Nature Reserve Kraljevac. Lake Kraljevac with its floating and permanently anchored islands, surrounding reedbeds, woodlands, meadows, and pastures supports a rich diversity of plant and animal life. Floating islands continually change the surrounding landscape, so sometimes it all gives an impression of being in some magical lands. Those islands, together with the permanently anchored ones are remnants of lowland peat bogs, globally one of the rarest and most threatened habitats, so they represent one of Serbia’s last refuges of the relict plant community of Marsh Fern and Grey Willow. The area is also part of internationally important zone for protected birds (IBA). Many of them live in surroundings or come by to eat. Purple and squacco heron (Ardea purpurea, Ardeola ralloides), night heron (Nycticorax nycticorax), alcids (Alcidae) are just some among many different species that visit the area.
During leisure hours volunteers will have a chance to go on boat rides to get to know surrounding nature. Also, excursions to the interesting places nearby can be organized.
For the end, there is possibility that the volunteers will participate in educational workshops with local children.
Just bing the patience and smile and it will be one unforgettable adventure!

All volunteers and camp-leaders will be accommodated in the Education and Research Centre in Special Natural Reserve Kraljevac in 2-bed, 3-bed and 5-bed rooms (linen included, sleeping bag is not required) with shared toilets and showers.
Volunteers will be provided with a cute kitchen with all the facilities and groceries will be brought to them in order that they can cook.

The Sport Fishing Association “Deliblato Lake” was established in 2000 with the aim to promote sport fishing and nature conservation among the local community and young people in Deliblato. It manages Special Nature Reserve Kraljevac that was declared “the first category protected area of greatest national importance” by the Government of the Republic of Serbia in 2009. Since then, for the 10th time in its history the Sport Fishing Association Deliblato Lake along with the Young Researchers of Serbia are organizing an international volunteer eco camp.
Young Researchers of Serbia (YRS) was founded in 1976. Our main aims are environmental protection and education, promotion of sustainable development, work with young people in an international context, promotion of scientific creativity and voluntarism and its values. Voluntary Service of Serbia is a volunteer exchange service center founded in 1990 as one of the sectors of YRS.
