Sanitation is a big problem in rural as well as urban slums in this mountainous area where there is no effective disposal system in practice. This affects their health and production capacity. The volunteers will help to educate and create awareness involving youth and rural people on water, sanitation, hygiene and health standards(WASH) as well as future pandemic management. The volunteers are expected to be innovative so that they can design and use their own tools in consultation with RUCHI team with regard to their appropriateness and local needs.
The volunteers are expected to:
• Visiting nearby councils and villages and measuring their current WASH level.
• Mapping families practicing open defecation in villages. Evaluating their economic and health status.
• Create awareness on WASH components at schools and community level.
• Organise cleanliness drives at school and community level.
• Research and explore waste management solutions at individual and community level.
• Educate people on safe water and water borne diseases.
• Volunteers can use creative mediums like charts, slogans, posters, banners, t-shirts, quotes, videos, films, photographs and discussions to educate villagers about WASH elements.

Each year in Nepal an estimated 10,000-15,000 girls are trafficked across the border to be sold into Indian brothels or forced to become domestic servants, beggars, factory workers, or other workers. This project aims to prevent the trafficking of girls from Nepal, within the country oroutside. Many young girls, women are vulnerable totrafficking due to a lack of education among the people. The house where the representative's grandparents used to live has been renovated and is being used as a accommodation for volunteers. Self cooking with a focus on locally grown produce and cage free eggs.

This project is actively working for SDG2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGS11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with Mogami no Shoen (MS) since 2021. Accepting farmers deepen their understanding of agriculture and rural areas through "farming experience" and accept volunteers to overcome the challenges of a declining population due to a falling birthrate and an ageing population. The aim is also to create various connections and exchanges between urban and rural areas through the experience of rural life and the dissemination of information from farming and mountain village areas. The representative of MS has been farming in a snowy spring village for 40 years. He has been living on a variety of crops, "rice", "vegetables", "wild vegetables", "kikurage mushrooms" and forests, with a focus on "cage free eggs". He is working energetically to do something about the depopulation of the area, and is planned 10 projects for five to seven days in 2022. The volunteers are expected to revitalize the area.

Volunteers will [1] Leaning support in Kodomo Shokudo(Children's cafeterias: It provides such children including those in the low income families with supper for free or at a low price.). Specifically, homework and subject learning is provided to about 15 primary and junior high school students. Volunteers also help with homework and crafts and make lunch and dinner together. It is the central city of Aizu region, surrounded by rich nature, including Mt. Bandai and Lake Inawashiro and blessed with natural scenery. The organization is located in an area with an atmosphere of Taisho era Romanticism. Winter season (Dec.-Mar.) is quite cold, so vols. need to bring warm cloths.

Shared rooms in accommodation owned by the organization. It is different place with activity place. Men and women separated room. Cooking by yourself. Staffs also stay at the facility. No wifi in accommodation(but there is wifi in activity place).

Progetto
The Buddhist monastery project aims to be an exchange between devoted practitioners of Buddhism
and those from other cultures, who can share language and other skills. Nepal is home to both Nepali
and Tibetan monks. Thousands of Tibetan monks have lived in exile in Nepalsince Tibet wasinvaded
by China in 1959. While the Tibetans are now free to practice their religion and express their culture
and heritage, they remain an underprivileged and marginalized group within society.
1) BACKGROUND TO VIN
VIN (Volunteers Initiative Nepal) is an NGO with the
mission to empower marginalized communities
through inclusive and holistic development programs.

2) COMMUNITY INFORMATION
KATHMANDU AREA:
VIN has been working in the Kathmandu community since the start. Education levels and living
standards for women are low.
The main castes in the area include Brahmin, Chettri. There are mixed caste systems in the
communities such as Dalit, Tamang, and Newar which are the most marginalized. The lack of
environmental awareness means that the area is dirty. This has a health consequence, especially since
the Health Service provider doesn’t have sufficient staff or medicine in the area.
3) INTRODUCTION TO THE TEACHING IN MONASTERY AND NUNNERY
Historically, education in Buddhist monasteries in Nepal has focussed on scriptures and beliefs.
Despite a more recent expansion in the scope of subjects, which now include English and Computer
Science, teaching remains rudimentary and standards vary dramatically between institutions. Nepal
holds a significant place in Buddhist history; the country is hailed as the birthplace of the Buddha,
Siddhartha Gautama. VIN works with 13 partner institutions.

The house where the representative's grandparents used to live has been renovated and is being used as a accommodation for volunteers. Self cooking with a focus on locally grown produce and cage free eggs.

Accepting farmers deepen their understanding of agriculture and rural areas through "farming experience" and accept volunteers to overcome the challenges of a declining population due to a falling birthrate and an ageing population. The aim is also to create various connections and exchanges between urban and rural areas through the experience of rural life and the dissemination of information from farming and mountain village areas. The representative of MS has been farming in a snowy spring village for 40 years. He has been living on a variety of crops, "rice", "vegetables", "wild vegetables", "kikurage mushrooms" and forests, with a focus on "cage free eggs". He is working energetically to do something about the depopulation of the area, and is planned 10 projects for five to seven days in 2022. The volunteers are expected to revitalize the area.
