Volunteers will do various types of activities such as 1) Forest conservation (cutting trees, branches and maintaining the footpaths, etc.), 2) Agricultural work (taking care of the chickens raised by the free range farming, slaughtering too old chickens (#), harvesting and packaging mushrooms, etc.) and 3) Organizing some environmental events (e.g., to collect edible wild plants, nature observation) in the mountains. #: It's hard for ASSK to keep feeding too old chickens since they don't bear the eggs anymore and feeding is quite costly. Most chicken farms ask the special company to just kill and throw away as if they are rubbish with paying 15 yen per chicken, but ASSK does not support this and eats by themselves with deeply appreciating to their value of life.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 15 (Life on Land), organized together with a local environmental Non-profit organization (NPO) Akame no SATOYAMA wo Sodateru Kai (ASSK) since 1999. Since this area is close from big cities Osaka and Nagoya, there were plans to build a golf field and an incinerator, but local people stopped those plans by the movement called National Trust. They founded the group in 1996 to collect donations to buy and protect lands, to accept people who want to enjoy nature, to maintain forests, to create a pond for dragonflies, to host national corps meeting, etc. SATOYAMA needs to be maintained by humans for its biodiversity and water adjustment function. Our ancestors had protected and utilized the forest in ecological and sustainable way, which was neglected by modernization. We will try to revive it by global voluntary power!!

Vipassana Village (Medication center) on behalf of Wat Pa Rattaphum temple has
worked with VSA Thailand since 2018 as the local partners project. And now there is
the action of the Foundation Establishment Project which will reconstruct the concept
of Vipassana (mind meditation).
The village will be a learning center on mindfulness concentration. The center opens
to everyone in mindfulness treatment, day and staying programs. Volunteers will
assist the staff team and take care of each task in the center.
Establishment of the International Vipassana Foundation (International Vipassana

Volunteers will work on different environmental projects. At the London Wildlife Trust completing practical conservation tasks in the beautiful Sydenham and Dulwich Woods, working alongside local volunteers. Work will be physical and it will be cold and possibly wet so please come prepared with waterproof clothing and good boots. London Wildlife Trust is an urban nature conservation charity working to improve London's green spaces for people and wildlife. Volunteers will also be working in nearby Dulwich Park with the local authority parks department.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming ohenro (pilgrims) who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting Kakurin-ji temple; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for omotenashi (hospitality). Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

Tarakeshwor: Tarakeshwor municipality is situated in the outskirts of Kathmandu District. It is around 10-15 km from the main ring road to Balaju, Kathmandu, covered with hills, fields, and woods. VIN also organizes travel tours like Chitwan Jungle Safari, Pokhara, Nagarkot for extra costs if you are interested after your work camp.

The volunteers will stay in Kathmandu for two nights until orientation. VIN covers two nightsU? 1/2 accommodation on sharing basis and simple Nepali-style food. SEEDS programme combines learning, sharing, hands-on activities, getting to know Iceland, its culture, having fun, exploring the city and its attractions, as stunning natural attractions in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and should be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances during activities and sightseeing. Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact.In this project SEEDS will organise a night photography and aurora hunting (Northern Lights) workshop in the city or in the vicinity of Reykjavik. This will take place during late evening and possibly into the night. Northern lights are a natural phenomenon depending on solar activity and meteorological conditions; we cannot guarantee you will see northern lights, but the night photography workshop will be organised anyway.

SEEDS participants will stay in a house in Reykjavik. The facilities are basic with a kitchen, showers, and a washing machine. Everyone is expected to show consideration for their companions. Participants will sleep in shared rooms or dormitories.Volunteers will receive food supplies and will be in charge of cooking and cleaning. Please note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music, games or movies from your country for the intercultural evening. Please be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

Participation fee EUR 400 (Euros). The fee can either be transferred in advance via bank transfer, or paid in cash on arrival. It includes transportation from the meeting point to the camp (on the first day), the visits available and the night photography workshop and aurora hunting outing. The Meeting time will be at 18:00 (6:00 pm) on November 27 at SEEDS office in Reykjavik. Participants that cannot arrive on time (later or delayed flights) will be sent information on how to reach the camp on their own.Some excursions (e.g. to the Golden Circle, Hot River hike and/or South Shore) can be arranged at discount fares if there is free time after the camp workshops/sessions. Some of these activities are dependent on conditions such as weather, as well as availability or restrictions of our partner organisations.You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice, walking around and exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS social media. The volunteers will be spilt into 3 farms (without change in the whole period) and mainly help to harvest the flowers and other farm work such as selection and rapping of flowers. Farm work will be 5-6 days in a week usually around 08:00-18:00 (sometimes, even longer) with lunch break in 12:00-13:30. There will be some pocket money to be used for meals (besides the lunch on the working days) and a part of the travel cost to the island. Thus, there are some possibilities to have another public work once a week such as beach cleaning and activities at the elders home though not sure.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with a group of farmers since 1995. The project has been held mostly in March and this is the 3rd time to be held in the summer since 2019. The project started by the links with the President of NICE who had a farm stay here in his student days. The island has rich, beautiful sub tropical nature with corral leaf on the beach without being polluted by the tourism. As the location is isolated and very far from the cities, they can hardly get the paid workers to help their farm work, so vols. help it to protect their industry and life! Thus, the volunteers can learn a lot from the natural and local life, by that many of them become a big fan of the island!
*Outcome of this workcamp: Workcamps have greatly contributed to the farmers (not to waste the flowers due to lack of working power) in 2023 by 3 workcamps with 10 vols.!

Work & Activities :- Most important target of the project is to bring smile among these children and
provide confidence and moral support to them .Volunteer would use different way of informal
education technique to present a unique and attractive way of informal education programs for these
kids .Most of these kids speaks local Bengali /Hindi language but they are very smart and intelligent,
so teaching them with the support of local coordinator would not be so difficult ,just little bit of
patience and involvement can solve this problem easily. All volunteers would go through orientation
after arrival and local language classes also would be there during camp days. There would also be a
workshop every evening when volunteers would prepare the next day lesson plan of action .
Volunteers would also help local coordinator in other activities like giving shower food distribution,
organising drama,story telling and entertainment games for the children.whole camp would be run
under the supervision ofexperienced local project coordinator. SMILE society always tries to give
international volunteers a big scope to know about the local communities and understand the family

Hatton is located in Nuwara Eliya district, in the hill country, 1300m above sea level. This area has a rich tea plantation and produces the finest teas in Sri Lanka. The majority is Tamil, who were brought here 200 years ago by British planters. The climate is very cold and the day temperature drops 150C to in day time and 100C at night. There are nice scenic places, mountains, and beautiful waterfalls. In this area the main language is Tamil and volunteers can experience South Indian subculture here. Adam’s Peak, Nuwara Eliya – the highest elevation city, Botanic Gardens, etc. are the icons. The project site is 6 hours from Colombo by bus.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with Green Volunteers for Green Future (GV4GF) since 2012 (first time in this place!). Hatton was created after British planters established a coffee plantation before tea was introduced. South Indian people came here as temporary labors. They work one month, get their wage of just one British pound, and leave. Very unhealthy, small, packed rooms constructed by planters for laborers' temporary living. No sufficient toilet facilities and no drinking water were the main problem those days but fewer complaints because they stayed only one month. Some people stayed two or more to earn more. After independence, British people were left but the majority of the laborers stayed here, they preferred local lives. Some were stayed with their families. Now their 3rd and 4th generations are living there. These communities still live in almost the same conditions, 3 generations living in small houses, low sanitary facilities, difficulties in accessing education, and low wages cause huge problems. The results are migration to cities, young age marriage, and lost community leadership. Almost all families in this area depend on vegetable farming and working in tea estates. They are separated from the outside of the world. Volunteers are going to meet youths and children in orphanages and common society.

Accommodation: Dormitory basis in host family/school building as per available on arrival ( on cot
with mattress/on floor with mattress, Common toilet and limited wifi available. 2-4 volunteers in one
room on shared basis, (normally male & female separate room). You will get accommodation till 6 pm
on the last day of your camp.We are unable to provide you any accommodation before or after these
dates. Please arrange your own accommodation in case of early arrival or late departure .Early
morning and after evening(6pm-8am) Airport transfers is not possible. You are requested to meet our
representative at the meeting place on exact time given above. If you arrive early then you can have
your stay in any of the different hotels available nearby Airport, within 2 -3 km .on the road popularly
called as V.I.P road. You are requested to take any cab to check in any of these hotels. If you arrive at
earlier night then you are requested to stay inside the airport terminal and meet at the next morning
with our representative as per infosheet.
Food: You will get 3 times local food from local host. Please do not expect any kind of special dishes
(veg/non veg) or cold drinks or special living room or air conditioned room during your term. You are
requested to get ready for a simple and challenging life

SEEDS programme combines learning, sharing, hands-on activities, getting to know Iceland, its culture, having fun, exploring the city and its attractions, as stunning natural attractions in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and should be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances during activities and sightseeing. Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact.In this project SEEDS will organise a night photography and aurora hunting (Northern Lights) workshop in the city or in the vicinity of Reykjavik. This will take place during late evening and possibly into the night. Northern lights are a natural phenomenon depending on solar activity and meteorological conditions; we cannot guarantee you will see northern lights, but the night photography workshop will be organised anyway.

SEEDS participants will stay in a house in Reykjavik. The facilities are basic with a kitchen, showers, and a washing machine. Everyone is expected to show consideration for their companions. Participants will sleep in shared rooms or dormitories.Volunteers will receive food supplies and will be in charge of cooking and cleaning. Please note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music, games or movies from your country for the intercultural evening. Please be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

Participation fee EUR 400 (Euros). The fee can either be transferred in advance via bank transfer, or paid in cash on arrival. It includes transportation from the meeting point to the camp (on the first day), the visits available and the night photography workshop and aurora hunting outing. The Meeting time will be at 18:00 (6:00 pm) on December 6 at SEEDS office in Reykjavik. Participants that cannot arrive on time (later or delayed flights) will be sent information on how to reach the camp on their own.Some excursions (e.g. to the Golden Circle, Hot River hike and/or South Shore) can be arranged at discount fares if there is free time after the camp workshops/sessions. It may be very cold and/or rainy, so we recommend bringing warm and waterproof clothes (underlayers, overcoats, scarves, gloves and hats) and good walking shoes, as some of the activities take place outdoors.

One of our aims is to help create more environmentally aware consumers and travellersYou will visit local projects on environment and conservation. These may include hands-on activities or guided visits. Some examples include outdoor cleanup tasks, a geothermal power plant, a local fauna and/or flora exhibition or an outdoor Icelandic culture museum. Some of these activities are dependent on conditions such as weather, as well as availability or restrictions of our partner organisations.You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice, walking around and exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.

NEAREST STATION: The nearest int'l airport is Kansai (Osaka). From Osaka to the meeting point in Tokushima, it takes 3 hours by highway bus. Volunteers are recommended to arrive there one day before workcamp starts since the bus leaves early. Volunteers need to take local train from the meeting point to the campsite about 2.5 hours. Volunteers need to arrive at the meeting point by 13:00 on 1st day and can leave there after 13:00 on last day.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming ohenro (pilgrims) who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting Kakurin-ji temple; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for omotenashi (hospitality). Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

Intercultural and Language (ICL) – Songkhla, learning and sharing the intercultural and
language still are the main purpose. Volunteers will share and exchange culture, language,
and knowledge with the local community and students in the school.
English as the global language and intercultural learning are important for local Thai people
to understand and be for global citizens. English is also the gateway to open mind and
knowledge. The project was created by VSA Thailand in 2011 and has been successful for
eight years. Former volunteers came to give the opportunity for children in schools and the
local community. Many local people improved their English skills through exchanging with
international volunteers, or at least they try to speak the English language more and dare to
face and work with the foreigner even though they cannot speak English. Moreover,
volunteers’ activities impacted the local community. They used to stay lively and trusty with
the foreigner. Local people have a chance to learn, accept, and adopt the ways of life with
the different cultures.

Depending on the weather, volunteers would do vegetable farming, remove weeds, make organic compost and put it to farms, renovate the trails to farm, prepare dung sprays and pesticides to grow healthy crops. Be prepared to get your hands dirty and do physical work.
Besides natural farming, volunteers will be given an exposure of other humanitarian projects, meeting with women groups and physical activity in RUCHI campus and work in communities or slums.
