You will lead activities and games, get involved in evening entertainment, ensure smooth running of our dining room, singing at campfire, be a pro at ‘doing the YMCA’ dance routine and generally make a huge difference to our community!
Behind the scenes you may get involved in any area of our large operation, from helping to look after our beautiful woodland and grassland areas, maintain activities, putting up tents, helping out in the kitchen, making beds and much, much more.

LOCATION: YMCA Fairthorne encourage all volunteers to take the chance to get out and explore the UK. YMCA Fairthorne is situated just outside of Southampton and less than two hours from London with a local train station. Generally, our volunteers will receive 2 days off in every 7 so its easy to access many parts of the UK. Situated in a 94-acre land in Botley, it truly is a stunning landscape where volunteers can enjoy the nature. It is not too far away from Southampton which is one of the biggest Cities on the South Coast where volunteers can explore and enjoy the following:
• Visit the Solent Sky Museum
• The theatre
• Southampton Football Club - Go to a game!
• Visit the Tudor houses
• Travel to Stonehenge

ACCOMMODATION & FOOD: Accommodation is in tents with bedding provided. Food is ‘Canteen style’ with a limited choice but with a vegetarian option. Three meals a day are provided, which includes a cooked breakfast and / or cereals, lunch and a cooked evening meal. Meals are at set times.
IMPORTANT: – Even in the British Summertime it can be VERY COLD AT NIGHT – please ensure you bring enough warm clothes. Wet weather clothing and footwear is also strongly recommended, as the site can get muddy and even the summer can bring a rainy day.

UK VISA COSTS: All volunteers will need to apply for a Temporary Work – Charity Worker, please be aware that this has replaced the Tier 5 (T5) Charity Worker VISA. The application fee for this VISA is £298 and you can stay for up to 12 months. To apply for the Charity Workers VISA volunteers will need a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) this will be provided by Concordia at the cost of £25.

The Camp

An 82-foot statue of Anjaneya, commonly known as Hanuman, the monkey god is worth a visit, as is the Kotilingeshwara temple, an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to the god Shiva. Kodi Beach, one of the most spectacular in Karnataka is where you can catching amazing sunrises and sunsets. Climb
up the winding, spiral staircase to the lantern house to enjoy the panoramic view of the ocean and the town beyond from the lighthouse. Gangoli is situated at the confluence of 5 rivers and the harbour is a busy place where you can interact with the fisherman community. Maravanthe is unique in that the Suparnika river flows on one side of the road, with the beach on the other, the only one of its kind in India.
Kollur Mookambika and Murundeshwara temple where you can view the 2nd largest statue of Shiva, are popular pilgrim spots. Boating on the backwaters of Kundapur, visits to a cashewnut, rubber or tile factory are some interesting ways to spend your free time. You can also visit Indian families to exchange views on your cultures and participate in the cultural programs of the local community

Forte de son histoire, la forteresse accueille des bénévoles internationaux·ales depuis les années 1980 afin de l'entretenir, de la valoriser et d'animer la vie locale durant l'été. Cette année, ce sont 5 chantiers internationaux qui y sont organisés sur la période estivale. Tu participeras à la première session de l'année.
Viens participer à la sauvegarde et à la valorisation de ce patrimoine d'exception ! Autour du château, tu réaliseras plusieurs travaux de restauration. Accompagné·e par un·e encadrant·e technique, tu participeras à l’entretien des maçonneries en découvrant les techniques traditionnelles : dejointoiement et rejointoiement des murs, fabrication de mortier à base de chaux et de sable, maniement des outils. Tu participeras aussi à l’entretien des boiseries : barrières de sécurité, construction en palettes pour les espaces de détente. Tu participeras également aux actions environnementales de la forteresse : débroussaillage, taille des arbustes, entretien du potager, rénovation des cabines de toilettes sèches. Protéger une telle bâtisse necéssite du temps et beaucoup d'énergie ; viens apporter ta pierre a l'édifice !
With its rich history, international volunteers have been welcomed at the castle since the 1980s to help maintain and promote it, and enliven local life during the summer. This year, 5 international workcamps are organized at the fortress over the summer. You will participate in the first session of the year.
Come and join the preservation and enhancement efforts of this exceptional heritage! Around the castle, you will carry out several restoration tasks. Guided by a technical supervisor, you will help maintain the masonry by learning traditional techniques: removing and re-pointing the walls, making lime and sand mortar, and handling the tools. You will also assist with maintaining the woodwork: safety barriers and building with pallets for relaxation areas. Finally, you will take part in maintining the fortress's environment: clearing brush, pruning shrubs, maintaining the vegetable garden, and renovating the dry toilet cabins. Protecting such a building takes time and energy; come contribute to the effort!

Located in the heart of the Bourbonnais region in northern Auvergne, the village of Montaigu-le-Blin offers a rich historical and cultural heritage. Overlooking the village, the Montaigu-le-Blin fortress, dating back to the 13th century, was built to defend the crown of France and Bourbonnais against the counties of Auvergne and Forez.

L'hébergement se fait sous tente, à 10/15 min à pieds de la forteresse et à 5 min à pieds du centre de la commune. Tout est organisé sur place dans le respect de l'environnement (tri des déchets et compost) avec l'objectif d'avoir un mode de vie plus écologique.
Au-delà des temps de chantier, les volontaires participent ensemble à l’organisation de la vie collective. Souvent réparti·e·s en équipes, ils·elles élaborent les menus, participent aux courses, préparent les repas et s’assurent de la propreté des espaces communs.
Véritable acteur·ice de ton expérience, tu participeras aussi à la prise de décisions concernant les activités collectives et l’organisation du quotidien !
Accommodation is in tents, 10-15 minutes on foot from the fortress and 5 minutes on foot from the centre of the village. Everything is organised on-site with respect for the environment (waste sorting and composting) with the goal of promoting a more ecofriendly lifestyle.
Beyond the working hours, volunteers come together to organise daily life on the camp. Often divided into teams, they plan menus, help with the shopping, prepare meals, and ensure the cleanliness of shared spaces.
Fully involved in shaping your experience, you will also take part in decision-making regarding group activities and daily organization!

Au cœur d'un charmant petit village bourbonnais, le château de Montaigu-le-Blin est une imposante forteresse médiévale du XIIème, classée Monument Historique. Située sur une petite colline, cette forteresse offre un espace bucolique et intime, proche de la nature avec une belle vue sur les paysages alentours.
Depuis les années 80, des bénévoles participent chaque année à la sauvegarde, la rénovation et à l'animation touristique du château, alors pourquoi pas toi ?
Ces dernières années, la forteresse s'est refaite une beauté ! Les bénévoles ont continué à faire des travaux de maçonnerie traditionelle sur les murs du château et ont développé le potager médiéval au pied de la tour du Seigneur. A vous de prendre le flambeau !
Inside a lovely little French village, the castle of Montaigu le Blin is an impressive medieval fortress, classified as Historical Monument. It is located on the top of a hill, overlooking the countryside. Since 2002, volunteers have been participating, every summer, to the restoration of the castle. These last years, the fortress has regained its beauty! Since the 80s, volunteers come every year to restore and protect the castle. These last couple of years, volunteers restored the castle walls using traditional masonry techniques and developped the medieval vegetable garden at the bottom of the Lord's tower. This year, it's your turn to live an experience back in time!

Located at the crossroads of several charming villages in southern Saintonge, you can fully enjoy the local heritage. Outside of work hours, you will participate in summer activities, such as music festivals, night markets, and visits to local producers with tastings of their products. City outings to La Rochelle, Rochefort, or Angouleme and a day at the ocean may also be organized. Cognac and St-Emilion, emblematic cities of the French vineyard, are also nearby!

You will sleep in a dormitory in the big International Maison des Bateleurs, where you will share daily life with international volunteers welcomed under the ESC Program (European Solidarity Corps). Located a few hundred meters from the festival in Montendre, the house provides all necessary amenities: showers, kitchen, garden, bamboo grove, etc. A vehicle will be at your disposal for transportation to the workshop site and for exploring the region. Breakfast and meals will be provided (you will have a food budget managed and communicated by the facilitators throughout the workcamp). Meals, prepared on a rotating schedule with you and the international volunteers, will respect environmental values, local resources, and the dietary preferences of each individual (including hot and cold dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan options). For the first week, you will have lunch at the Maison des Bateleurs, and for the second and third week, you will have lunch with the festival team (on-site catering with various menus, including vegetarian and vegan options).

With the help of members of the association and local historians, you will take part in the enhancement of this emblematic heritage of the town of Eymet. You will learn how to lime the stone walls inside the mill with a mason who is an expert on this age-old technique, and you will work on developing an outdoor patio: weeding, installing a wooden floor and a removable awning, and repairing old walls. With the help of a specialist, you'll learn about the specific vegetation found along the banks of the river and look after it on the mill peninsula. Finally, you will take part in the design and organisation of the built heritage and mills festival, one of the town's great festive occasions.

Site visits, nature activities, you will build your own entertainment program with the animators and the other participants. We favor a discovery of the territory and these actors over consumption activities.

You'll stay in tents on our summer camp on the Moulin peninsula. Access to dry toilets and showers on site. Individual tents or tents for two will be provided, as well as foam trekking mattresses. Remember to bring your duvet and a pillow. You will prepare the menus together, meeting local producers and cooking their delicious seasonal produce. You'll share your meals together in the mill's majestic great hall, where you can spend unforgettable evenings afterwards. Don't forget to bring your own gourmet recipes!

Eymet is a charming medieval Bastide town in the Perigord Pourpre region of the Dordogne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Founded in 1270, this small town embodies the authenticity and charm of the Bastide towns, the fortified towns typical of southwestern France. Eymet is built around its central square, lined with arcades and bustling with cafes, restaurants and shops.
Its rich historical heritage can be seen in the cobbled streets, the fortified church of Saint-Etienne and the remains of its medieval castle, offering a journey back in time. History buffs will also appreciate the half-timbered and stone houses that bear witness to its past. Eymet is particularly well known for its strong British community, which contributes to its cosmopolitan atmosphere while preserving a Perigordian art of living.
Eymet's mill, located on the banks of the River Dropt, is one of the most emblematic symbols of this Bastide in the Perigord Pourpre. Full of history, it bears witness to the importance of mills in the medieval and modern economy of the region, where they were mainly used to grind the grain produced in the rich surrounding farmland.
You will take part in this architectural and human adventure by preparing the mill for summer events. You'll round off your stay by taking part in the local heritage and mill festival, which is held every year on the last weekend in June to kick off the summer season.

During World War II, nine above-ground bunker facilities were built to temporarily store V2 rockets. Volunteers will help preserve the remaining bunker structures by cutting grass, clearing pathways, and making the remnants more visible to the community. These bunkers and their history give Peenemunde its unique character. By contributing to this project, volunteers help to preserve an important part of German history so that it is not forgotten.
The Historical-Technical Museum will provide tools, work gloves, and bicycles for commuting to the worksite.

The town of Peenemunde, with around 400 inhabitants and surrounded by untouched nature, has a rich and eventful history. It is located in the northern part of the island of Usedom and is best known for the first successful rocket launch into space. During the Nazi era, Peenemunde was home to Europe?s largest research center, where "secret weapons" such as the V2 rocket were developed.
Leisure:
Excursions are possible, such as visits to the beach right on site or in the nearby town of Karlshagen, as well as a short trip to Swinoujscie in Poland. Bicycles are available.

Volunteers will stay in cozy vintage trailers on the grounds of a youth hostel. Pillows, blankets, and mattresses will be provided. There will be freshly cooked meals, including vegetarian options for dinner and sandwiches for breakfast and lunch.

Lohmen uniquely combines nature, history, and community, making it an ideal place for those who want to experience rural life in a culturally rich environment.

ACCOMMODATION:
Volunteers will be accommodated in a youth club located in a former kindergarten. The accommodation is simple and functional. Outside, there is a fire pit that invites everyone to gather in the evenings. The volunteers should bring sleeping bag and mattress pad with them, as the accommodation only provides mattresses but no blankets.
FOOD:
Meals will be prepared by the volunteers themselves. They can bring their own ideas and recipes, creating a diverse mix of traditional specialties, new creations, and shared culinary experiments.

Aim of the project: With the mission of sustainable living and community development. Thai Hai Village is the result of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hai's dedication to preserve traditional cultural values of Tay ethnic group in Vietnam and contribute to building a just and humane society and sustainable development.
More than 30 original stilt houses, at least half a century old was rebuilt and restored in a natural area surrounded by hills and trees in Thai Hai Village. Not only the house's structure but also the ethos of Tay culture, the soul and vitality of the traditional values were preserved and passed on from generation to generation.
Day after day, the villagers cultivate and raise livestock, grow fruits and green tea to accommodate for their daily life, and to serve tourists who come to the village. Together, they form a community that “Eat Together, Share Together”, preserves and promotes their traditional cultural values. After a working day, they gather around the fireplace of the house and sing Then songs (Tay’s traditional singing) with “dan tinh” (traditional musical instrument), with flute and traditional “nang then” dance, together creating a very peaceful and cosy atmosphere.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming "Ohenro (pilgrims)" who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting "Kakurin-ji temple"; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for "omotenashi (hospitality)". Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

Les Abeilles Charpentieres ?, passionate carpentry artisans, participants will build a covered access ramp for people with reduced mobility and an emergency exit, making the refuge more inclusive and safer. Depending on the progress of the work, additional improvements may be made, such as installing dry toilets for the bivouac, creating a cozy fire area, and implementing other environmentally friendly features.

Time will also be set aside for discussions with local residents and visits to heritage sites, so that you can fully immerse yourself in local life and understand the conservation issues facing the region, all thanks to the site supervisors.

The communal refuge of Esparron, located at 1,460 meters altitude in the heart of the Vercors Regional Natural Park, will serve as your base camp throughout the project. During the first week, you will stay in individual tents (provided by Concordia) set up outside the refuge. You will have access to the refuge?s sanitary facilities and equipped kitchen. For this tent stay, be sure to bring a sleeping bag suited to cold mountain temperatures (ideally with a comfort range of around 0?C to -5?C) and a camping mat for extra comfort. During the second week, you will be housed inside the refuge, which offers several dormitory-style sleeping areas with beds.
Daily communal life will be organized around sharing responsibilities, including cooking, cleaning, and group activities. You will prepare meals together, prioritising local and seasonal products and vegetarian options.
Please note that the refuge is off-grid: there is no Wi-Fi or mobile network coverage. A washing machine is unavailable, so you will need to wash your clothes by hand if necessary.

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. Volunteers will be involved in various activities throughout the week culminating in concerts and a fashion show on June 28th. Their tasks include cleaning public spaces, assisting with a pilgrim walk and workshop at Fewet Farm, supporting a record attempt for the most people wearing skirts in the town square, and helping with the event setup, ticket control, and visitor guidance. Throughout the week, volunteers will contribute to the smooth execution of events while fostering connections between local students and international volunteers. The overall physical demand will be similar to standard outdoor activities, such as carrying small or moderately heavy objects, walking longer distances, and cleaning public spaces. Regardless of the weather the main event will take place so a rain coat is required.

Location of the project: The project will take place in the medieval town of Broumov, which is surrounded by walls from medieval times and known for its baroque features. The town has a population of approximately 7500 residents and is located on the border with Poland in the Northern part of the Czech Republic. Nearby the acommodation, you will find ATMs, stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, an info centre, a cinema, a theatre, and touristic paths.
Possible free time activities: During free time volunteers can primarily do outdoor activities. Volunteers can make a trip to the rocks nearby, which are national natural reserves. The local monastery also hosts collective meditations each Tuesday morning. On the 25th of June, there is a meeting with the community and an option to attend the ‘Experience Brewery Differently’ event. June also hosts a variety of other cultural events which volunteers are welcome to join.
Study part: Educational activities will connect volunteers with local traditions, culture, and environmental topics. They will visit Fewet Farm to learn about regional products, meet local animals, and join a waste recycling workshop. A lecture on Broumov’s history and its monastery will highlight its cultural and spiritual significance. A community event workshop will cover planning, fundraising, and public relations. An environmental workshop, linked to the city cleanup, will focus on waste management and nature conservation. These activities will be both educational and interactive, fostering cultural exchange and community engagement.

Volunteers will be accommodated in a guest house of the monastery, where participants will sleep in one big room with the rest of their peers. There is access to shared bathrooms and toilets. Bed sheets are included as well as free WiFi. There is no washing machine. Accommodation in the Broumov monastery is a great experience - you can experience how Benedictine monks used to live but you have to respect quiet hours after 10 PM. Volunteers will cook their own meals using a fully equipped kitchen.

Beyond the practical tasks, the workcamp offers a unique and immersive experience. When the castle closes its doors to the public in the evenings, it becomes the volunteers' home, a place where they can experience the privilege of inhabiting a medieval site. In this way, they take on the role of stewards, caring for the space as if it were their own. The experience encourages a sense of responsibility, ownership, and connection to heritage, reinforcing the idea that heritage sites thrive not only through large-scale restoration projects but also through the daily care and attention given to them by those who value their existence.

Lohra Castle is situated in the heart of Germany in Northern Thuringia. The castle, which is surrounded by a scenic hilly landscape, is located on the edge of a nature reserve area. Being one of the largest castles in Thuringia, the history of the castle Lohra begins in the Middle Age. The castle is more than 1,000 years old. Today, it includes twenty buildings from different times: medieval fortifications, remnants of a tower from the 11th century, a Romanesque chapel, a manor house from the Renaissance period as well as stables and granaries from the 19th and the early 20th centuries. The ensemble is situated in the centre of a beautiful forest. For years Lohra Castle was vacant. In the 1990s Open Houses started to restore the castle and to revive it by cultural activities. Since that time, a large number of Workcamps, Building Weeks, exhibitions, concerts and other activities with international participants took place in the castle.

Shared rooms with 2 – 5 beds in 3 guest houses, warm shower (limited hot water), 1 camp kitchen (cold water), coal-burning stoves. In most of Open Houses' camps the volunteers will live at the same places they also work on, what means that they live more or less on a building site. In most of the Heritage Volunteers Projects the accommodation is located in a certain distance to the working site. The accommodation is usually very simple; there are shared rooms with simple beds or mattresses at most of the places. Shower, toilet and kitchen are at the place, but sometimes not in the same building. The equipment is simple but fair. After work, when everybody wants to take a shower, there can be a limit of hot water. The meals will be prepared together as they are part of the community life, what means that every participant will be responsible for the meal at least once during its stay. So it would be very nice if the participants could bring typical recipes from home in order to introduce each other to the preparation of food from all over the world.

Open Houses – rooms open for those who come along. Open Houses – not empty buildings, but places with visible and invisible traces of history, places which have grown and decayed over the centuries, places which were shaped by those people who lived there long ago as well those who left only yesterday – places which will be shaped by those who live there or who come as a guest. Open Houses – rooms which want to be filled with dreams and ideas, with meetings and exchange, by people of different backgrounds, different cultures, different generations and different ideas and visions. The history of Open Houses Network dates back to the mid-1980s, when a group of young people started to restore village churches in East Germany in voluntary work to protect them from decay. The engagement for these buildings united people who enjoyed the freedom these activities provided and who filled these rooms with life again in ways which by far exceed the craftsmen's work done – through exhibitions, concerts, making music together or just sitting by the camp fire. Meanwhile, rooms free of political and ideological pressure are no longer urgently required; however, places have become rare where people can meet without commercial pressure, free of bureaucracy and institutionalism, free of nepotism and the exclusion which it produces. What should be easy – to go somewhere in order to meet people and to work together – has become difficult. The tightrope walk between, on the one hand, public activities in a monetary and functional sense, and the retreat into private life on the other, is very difficult, and it requires a lot of power and permanent efforts to tackle red tape and financial restrictions. Free spaces are less and less understood as common property, and are permanently being cut back. The idea of public property seems to have gone out of fashion, and places of common responsible work have become rare. Open Houses Network tries to create and protect such spaces. In this process, we do not want to be the doers, but be people who have a vision, who want to initiate something, but who also are aware of depending on the co-operation of others. We understand our projects and events as offers – as offers to create space for commitment, for changes, for meetings.

Activating kids in the city camp and providing them with cross-cultural learning experience. Volunteers will do it by using various informal methods of teaching as well as small group techniques. The activities to be held by a team of volunteers may include the following: playing the games and performing music that are popular in the countries the volunteers represent; training kids to perform pieces of amateur drama; preparing festivals; providing intellectual and sport games as well as discussions; preparing quests to combine with excursions round the places of interest; organizing actions for peace and nature protection; leading and supporting kids in their work on the team projects within the topics related to the main theme of the summer. Volunteers are responsible for the day activities in the camp. The work can be quite hard, involving long working hours, requiring high level of commitment and responsibility. You will stay with campers from 10:00 to 17:00 (45-minute lunch is included) and spend about another hour to prepare and finalize next day activities and feedback. Working days are from Monday to Friday plus one duty Saturday; Sundays are days off except the one after arrival. The local participants are mainly youngsters from minority groups of Tallinn whose family s languages include Russian. Based on the previous year, we expect a number of kids/teens participants in one camp shift as up to 40. Volunteers will work in pairs facilitating and leading a smaller group of 10 - 12 children or less during the day and change the groups every 2-3 days.During the first three days of the workcamp after arrival, volunteers will be given the training on the camp methodology and some time to prepare themselves to meet the kids/teens on Monday and further carry out their tasks in the camp. For this reason, it is important to arrive on time.

There are 2 options possible (subject to availability, which will become clear by the start of the project):1) The premises of The Language School In Down-Town located on the 4th and 5th floors of a business building in the city centre. In summer time, a part of the school is reserved for the volunteers accommodation that includes several separate dormitory bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, a small dining area, a large shower area and two separate toilet cabins. Bed linen, towels, pillows and blankets will be provided, so you do NOT need to bring a sleeping bag unless you want so. For the reasons of security, volunteers will be issued only one set of keys. To facilitate a smooth and safe environment at school during the off-hours, the entrance to the school must be kept closed at all times. The access to the school and accommodation areas will be managed by long-term volunteers or school staff. Please be aware that between 01:00 a.m. and 09:00 a.m. the access to the building will be closed. Catering will be organized by the school on an agreement with the volunteers (selection of times, meals - provided or volunteers cook, etc.).2) A furnished shared apartment in the residential area of Tallinn. Volunteers will be issued two sets of keys. The apartment has three-four dormitory bedrooms and all necessary facilities, and it takes about 20 minutes to get to the city center by public transport. Public transport cards will be provided. Volunteers will cook their breakfast meals themselves (food for a standard European breakfast will be provided); dinner meals will be served at school between 18:00 and 19:00; lunches will be organized for the whole camp (including kids/teens) in the city centre.Please note: it is not possible to stay at any of the camp accommodation options before or after the camp arrival and departure days. Special requirementsYou have to be really motivated to work with kids. Please provide a letter of your motivation along with the application form. An experience of working with children is an advantage. Your ideas and actual preparation to do the activities for kids are essential, so a successful volunteer will be required to meet the team online to discuss and complete some preliminary preparation. We ask you to bring some materials: postcards, posters, symbols of your country, music or popular national games etc., which can be used during your country presentation. We expect active volunteers with a good knowledge of history and culture of their country as well as with an ability and wish to present it to others in a creative way. B2 level of English is required. The age of volunteers is from 20 to 33. Please note that before making a final decision about your participation in the camp, the project coordinator will have a video interview with you.Participation feeWe ask participants to contribute 50 Euro towards the costs of general administration. If you apply for two shifts in a row the participation fee is 80 Euro. This fee has to be paid by bank transfer before the beginning of the camp. This project is organized for local children by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALPS) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. Some international teenage participants may randomly join. The common project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to children and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication using the learning-by-doing method and organizing alternative English language practice. The project gets youngsters familiar with customs and traditions of the countries from all over the world and encourages them to develop their cross-cultural thinking and tolerance as well as global thinking and individual initiative. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Camp participants will gain ideas and skills how to deal with millions of combinations of the world s reality. Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Kriusilla is a small farm dealing with beekeeping, vegetables growing and forestry. Volunteers will be doing some forestry work (cleaning and weeding forestry, planting trees, building wood construction) but also harvesting vegetables, collecting honey, cleaning and improving bee houses, possibly helping to build new ones. There can be also some light odd jobs in the house, building and gardening. The working day will be 5-7 hours depending on weather conditions.

There are many interesting locally important natural sites in the area. There is Jagala River 4 km away, picturesque lakes about 20 km away and the sea 40 km away. Short trips in the area are planned by hosts. It is easy and quite possible to go to Tallinn on your own in the free time to enjoy its attraction and numerous opportunities flourishing in summer period. Besides there will be some local festivities in the villages nearby www.voose.ee; www.viikingitekyla.ee ; www.korvemaa.ee/en ; https://anijamois.ee/ which can be attended together with the hosts.The first shift in June coincides with Mid-Summer Festival, which is the largest celebration in Estonia, so those joining it can experience this Estonian ancient tradition.

The accommodation conditions on the farm will be simple but decent. Beds are provided. Please bring your sleeping bags. Toilets and showers are available. There is kitchen with all necessary equipment for cooking. Volunteers will be served food cooked by the hosts but are asked to assist cleaning.

Together we will build a storage room, built in stone. There already exists at this location an old slab and a retaining wall on which the building that we are going to construct will rest. Your mission will be to take this slab and start the foundations of the storage room. The reconstruction is planned in local stone, using the same method as all the buildings on the site. The objective is for the building to be in harmony with the whole. There will be 4 working days per week, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This work does not require any particular skills and will be supervised by a technical supervisor.

The hamlet of the Vallauria mine is located at an altitude of 1500 metres. The site is in the middle of the mountains, crossed by the river. We are 10 km from the village of Tende 06430 (2 hours from Nice by train) and 50 km from Ventimiglia (Italy). The site is a 3-hour walk from the mythical Valley of Wonders with its 40,500 engravings dating from the Neolithic period, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In addition to the weekend, one day in the middle of each week will be devoted to discovery and entertainment activities. You will discover the mountain environment, with its fauna and flora and the surrounding hikes (hiking on the archaeological site of the Vallee des Merveilles in the Mercantour National Park). You will have the opportunity to discover the historical and cultural heritage of the region, visit the surrounding villages and meet the inhabitants of the valley. You can also do sporting and thrilling activities such as canyoning, via ferrata, climbing, etc. We will organize activities and entertainment on site according to the wishes of each and every person in the group.

The accommodation is located on the construction site. You will be accommodated in dormitory rooms with 4 to 6 beds equipped with mattresses, pillows and bathroom facilities. Please bring your sleeping bag. You will participate in the collective and daily life of the group and the place. Food is provided in the budget, and meals will be prepared by you in turn, accompanied by the group life facilitator and in a kitchen with all the necessary equipment. You will participate in cleaning dishes and tidying up dining areas and the kitchen. Specific foods may be requested in order to cook typical dishes from each country or region. It is also possible to request vegetarian meals.

The Neige & Merveilles association welcomes you to the heart of the Mercantour National Park at an altitude of 1500 m, to work on the continuation of the Vallauria mining hamlet development project. You will discover an exceptional geological heritage and take part in a human and collective adventure which has lasted for more than 60 years. The Neige et Merveilles association has been working since its creation to revive this historic site in order to offer a haven of peace promoting discovery, meetings and diversity around the volunteer sites and the people on site.
On this masonry renovation site, you will participate in the reconstruction of the site ravaged by storm Alex in 2021. The mining site suffered the full force of this storm. The consequences were numerous, between material damage and impacts on the functioning of the structure. Since 2021, the association has done everything it can to rehabilitate the site in conjunction with the town of Tende, the Mercantour National Park and various local stakeholders.

Participants will have time to put the theory about photography into practice, walking around and exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.While learning about photography, the participants have the opportunity to explore Icelandic culture by taking part in it, capturing it and also by displaying their work during the camp. One of our objectives is to empower young people to use photography to draw attention to environmental and cultural subjects and issues.Participants should be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances during activities and working within a flexible time schedule. Participants will be photographing in their free time outside of workshop hours with images to be discussed at group feedback sessions.This camp is open to participants aged 16 to 20. During their stay, SEEDS organises a programme that combines learning, sharing, getting to know Iceland and its culture, and having fun while exploring the city and some of the most stunning natural attractions in the Golden Circle and Reykjanes Peninsula excursions. Note that this is a learning/sharing camp and not a regular workcamp; this project has a smaller volunteer work part and emphasises the personal learning process over the community impact. We may be able to organise some outdoor voluntary work, but it depends on our partners and the weather conditions.

SEEDS participants stay in a house in ReykjavEk. The facilities are basic with an equipped kitchen, dining and living room, bathrooms, showers and a washing machine. Everyone is expected to show consideration for their companions. Participants sleep in shared rooms of up to 6 people. Bring your own towel. Participants will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities. Please note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music or games from your country for the intercultural evening. Please be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

This is the eighteenth year (since 2008) that SEEDS organises a series of International Photography projects and we started organising these camps for teenagers in the year 2010. Throughout the year, participants from all over the world come to Iceland for an immersive photography-related learning camp. SEEDS coordinators help the participants to develop their unique photographic skills through workshops and feedback sessions on technical settings, compositional considerations, as well as to create conceptual frameworks highlighting the participants individual style.

The work for volunteers is designed to be diverse. On rainy days, tasks include cleaning and organizing the school and its garden. On sunny days, volunteers will remove invasive plant species (such as wild lupine and Himalayan balsam) from roadsides and clear overgrown areas.Additionally, volunteers will assist in setting up and dismantling traditional celebration events, helping in the community cafe, and other related tasks.
