The Summer in the City VT aims to support families facing financial difficulties by providing creative activities to children through experiential processes and workshops, enhancing their skills and talents. The volunteering team involves working with children (ages 6 to 12), daily for approximately 5 hours during their summer holidays at their school. You will support the educational activities defined by the educators (sports activities, workshops, artistic events, theatrical plays, and many more). Volunteers are also very welcome to even implement their own activity ideas. What the program offers to volunteers:-Covered expenses: Volunteers will receive a daily allowance (pocket money) of 6 euros per day, groceries for cooking will be provided by ELIX and volunteers will be responsible to cook along with their team leaders and other volunteers. Further to the covered expenses volunteers will be insured during these two weeks, however it s important to hold or apply for an EHIC (European Health) card.-Support and guidance: Trained leaders will be on the spot and will provide 24-hour support to the volunteers, while qualified educators will contribute to the volunteers training for the program s implementation.-Participation certificate: Volunteers will receive a participation certificate upon completion of the program, detailing all acquired skills.-Skill development: Volunteers will gain valuable experience and skills in children s creative activities, which can enhance their resumes and help with their professional development.-Cultural exchange: Through collaboration with volunteers from different countries, participants will have the opportunity to learn about different cultures and make friendships with people from all over the world.-Personal development: By participating in the vt, volunteers will experience something that will help them develop their confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills.

The area where participants will stay is the Olympic Village of Athens. Near at the area volunteers can find supermarket, pharmacy, hospital, caffes and bars. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the everyday life of Greece; the available sea is 29 km far away and the centre of Athens is approximately 18km far, they may attend different events during the period of their stay like excursions, familiarity with the local community, group activities that will help foster socialization among the volunteers and give a special identity to the programme.Part of the experience in this project is to get to know more about other people s countries, culture, and background. We will organise Circles of Interest during some evenings where you will have the opportunity to participate in team building activities and games.

This is an ESC project, supported by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Commission. Compared to the usual workcamp, some main financial and administrative differences must be underlined. This project is open to 18i30-year-old participants. You do not have to pay any (participation) fees to participate in the project. You must be present for the entire duration of the camp in order to get your pocket money (6euro/day) for common leisure activities and travel expenses. There is a maximum amount of financial support for your travel expenses. The cost of travel is returned to the participants after the completion of the programme. Volunteers will have to complete a participation report, submitted online through the ESC portal.After the selection of the volunteers, a criminal record is needed. The summer in Greece is usually warm, although dry. The volunteers will engage in seasonal maintenance tasks, including mowing and collecting overgrown grass, clearing organic material from public areas, and ensuring that the castle’s open spaces remain well-kept. These tasks are crucial for the aesthetic and functional upkeep of the historic ensemble, preserving the visual integrity of the castle and its surroundings. The work also extends to the general maintenance of communal spaces and halls, contributing to the overall experience of visitors who use the castle for cultural events, educational programmes, and retreats. The income generated from these activities is directly reinvested into the castle’s conservation and educational projects, meaning that the work of volunteers directly supports heritage preservation efforts, even if not through conservation itself. Beyond the practical tasks, the workcamp offers a unique and immersive experience. When the castle closes its doors to the public in the evenings, it becomes the volunteers' home, a place where they can experience the privilege of inhabiting a medieval site. In this way, they take on the role of stewards, caring for the space as if it were their own. The experience encourages a sense of responsibility, ownership, and connection to heritage, reinforcing the idea that heritage sites thrive not only through large-scale restoration projects but also through the daily care and attention given to them by those who value their existence.

Lohra Castle is situated in the heart of Germany in Northern Thuringia. The castle, which is surrounded by a scenic hilly landscape, is located on the edge of a nature reserve area. Being one of the largest castles in Thuringia, the history of the castle Lohra begins in the Middle Age. The castle is more than 1,000 years old. Today, it includes twenty buildings from different times: medieval fortifications, remnants of a tower from the 11th century, a Romanesque chapel, a manor house from the Renaissance period as well as stables and granaries from the 19th and the early 20th centuries. The ensemble is situated in the centre of a beautiful forest. For years Lohra Castle was vacant. In the 1990s Open Houses started to restore the castle and to revive it by cultural activities. Since that time, a large number of Workcamps, Building Weeks, exhibitions, concerts and other activities with international participants took place in the castle.

Shared rooms with 2 – 5 beds in 3 guest houses, warm shower (limited hot water), 1 camp kitchen (cold water), coal-burning stoves. In most of Open Houses' camps the volunteers will live at the same places they also work on, what means that they live more or less on a building site. In most of the Heritage Volunteers Projects the accommodation is located in a certain distance to the working site. The accommodation is usually very simple; there are shared rooms with simple beds or mattresses at most of the places. Shower, toilet and kitchen are at the place, but sometimes not in the same building. The equipment is simple but fair. After work, when everybody wants to take a shower, there can be a limit of hot water. The meals will be prepared together as they are part of the community life, what means that every participant will be responsible for the meal at least once during its stay. So it would be very nice if the participants could bring typical recipes from home in order to introduce each other to the preparation of food from all over the world.

Open Houses – rooms open for those who come along. Open Houses – not empty buildings, but places with visible and invisible traces of history, places which have grown and decayed over the centuries, places which were shaped by those people who lived there long ago as well those who left only yesterday – places which will be shaped by those who live there or who come as a guest. Open Houses – rooms which want to be filled with dreams and ideas, with meetings and exchange, by people of different backgrounds, different cultures, different generations and different ideas and visions. The history of Open Houses Network dates back to the mid-1980s, when a group of young people started to restore village churches in East Germany in voluntary work to protect them from decay. The engagement for these buildings united people who enjoyed the freedom these activities provided and who filled these rooms with life again in ways which by far exceed the craftsmen's work done – through exhibitions, concerts, making music together or just sitting by the camp fire. Meanwhile, rooms free of political and ideological pressure are no longer urgently required; however, places have become rare where people can meet without commercial pressure, free of bureaucracy and institutionalism, free of nepotism and the exclusion which it produces. What should be easy – to go somewhere in order to meet people and to work together – has become difficult. The tightrope walk between, on the one hand, public activities in a monetary and functional sense, and the retreat into private life on the other, is very difficult, and it requires a lot of power and permanent efforts to tackle red tape and financial restrictions. Free spaces are less and less understood as common property, and are permanently being cut back. The idea of public property seems to have gone out of fashion, and places of common responsible work have become rare. Open Houses Network tries to create and protect such spaces. In this process, we do not want to be the doers, but be people who have a vision, who want to initiate something, but who also are aware of depending on the co-operation of others. We understand our projects and events as offers – as offers to create space for commitment, for changes, for meetings.

Activating kids in the city camp and providing them with cross-cultural learning experience. Volunteers will do it by using various informal methods of teaching as well as small group techniques. The activities to be held by a team of volunteers may include the following: playing the games and performing music that are popular in the countries the volunteers represent; training kids to perform pieces of amateur drama; preparing festivals; providing intellectual and sport games as well as discussions; preparing quests to combine with excursions round the places of interest; organizing actions for peace and nature protection; leading and supporting kids in their work on the team projects within the topics related to the main theme of the summer. Volunteers are responsible for the day activities in the camp. The work can be quite hard, involving long working hours, requiring high level of commitment and responsibility. You will stay with campers from 10:00 to 17:00 (45-minute lunch is included) and spend about another hour to prepare and finalize next day activities and feedback. Working days are from Monday to Friday plus one duty Saturday; Sundays are days off except the one after arrival. The local participants are mainly youngsters from minority groups of Tallinn whose family s languages include Russian. Based on the previous year, we expect a number of kids/teens participants in one camp shift as up to 40. Volunteers will work in pairs facilitating and leading a smaller group of 10 - 12 children or less during the day and change the groups every 2-3 days.During the first three days of the workcamp after arrival, volunteers will be given the training on the camp methodology and some time to prepare themselves to meet the kids/teens on Monday and further carry out their tasks in the camp. For this reason, it is important to arrive on time.

There are 2 options possible (subject to availability, which will become clear by the start of the project):1) The premises of The Language School In Down-Town located on the 4th and 5th floors of a business building in the city centre. In summer time, a part of the school is reserved for the volunteers accommodation that includes several separate dormitory bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, a small dining area, a large shower area and two separate toilet cabins. Bed linen, towels, pillows and blankets will be provided, so you do NOT need to bring a sleeping bag unless you want so. For the reasons of security, volunteers will be issued only one set of keys. To facilitate a smooth and safe environment at school during the off-hours, the entrance to the school must be kept closed at all times. The access to the school and accommodation areas will be managed by long-term volunteers or school staff. Please be aware that between 01:00 a.m. and 09:00 a.m. the access to the building will be closed. Catering will be organized by the school on an agreement with the volunteers (selection of times, meals - provided or volunteers cook, etc.).2) A furnished shared apartment in the residential area of Tallinn. Volunteers will be issued two sets of keys. The apartment has three-four dormitory bedrooms and all necessary facilities, and it takes about 20 minutes to get to the city center by public transport. Public transport cards will be provided. Volunteers will cook their breakfast meals themselves (food for a standard European breakfast will be provided); dinner meals will be served at school between 18:00 and 19:00; lunches will be organized for the whole camp (including kids/teens) in the city centre.Please note: it is not possible to stay at any of the camp accommodation options before or after the camp arrival and departure days. If you need a place to stay before or after the workcamp dates, we can help you to book a hostel in Tallinn.

Special requirementsYou have to be really motivated to work with kids. Please provide a letter of your motivation along with the application form. An experience of working with children is an advantage. Your ideas and actual preparation to do the activities for kids are essential, so a successful volunteer will be required to meet the team online to discuss and complete some preliminary preparation. We ask you to bring some materials: postcards, posters, symbols of your country, music or popular national games etc., which can be used during your country presentation. We expect active volunteers with a good knowledge of history and culture of their country as well as with an ability and wish to present it to others in a creative way. B2 level of English is required. The age of volunteers is from 20 to 33. Please note that before making a final decision about your participation in the camp, the project coordinator will have a video interview with you.Participation feeWe ask participants to contribute 50 Euro towards the costs of general administration. If you apply for two shifts in a row the participation fee is 80 Euro. This fee has to be paid by bank transfer before the beginning of the camp. If you cannot make it, please contact your sending organization for a solution.

This project is organized for local children by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALPS) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. Some international teenage participants may randomly join. The common project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to children and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication using the learning-by-doing method and organizing alternative English language practice. The project gets youngsters familiar with customs and traditions of the countries from all over the world and encourages them to develop their cross-cultural thinking and tolerance as well as global thinking and individual initiative. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Camp participants will gain ideas and skills how to deal with millions of combinations of the world s reality. Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Kriusilla is a small farm dealing with beekeeping, vegetables growing and forestry. Volunteers will be doing some forestry work (cleaning and weeding forestry, planting trees, building wood construction) but also harvesting vegetables, collecting honey, cleaning and improving bee houses, possibly helping to build new ones. There can be also some light odd jobs in the house, building and gardening. The working day will be 5-7 hours depending on weather conditions.

There are many interesting locally important natural sites in the area. There is Jagala River 4 km away, picturesque lakes about 20 km away and the sea 40 km away. Short trips in the area are planned by hosts. It is easy and quite possible to go to Tallinn on your own in the free time to enjoy its attraction and numerous opportunities flourishing in summer period. Besides there will be some local festivities in the villages nearby www.voose.ee; www.viikingitekyla.ee ; www.korvemaa.ee/en ; https://anijamois.ee/ which can be attended together with the hosts.The first shift in June coincides with Mid-Summer Festival, which is the largest celebration in Estonia, so those joining it can experience this Estonian ancient tradition.

The accommodation conditions on the farm will be simple but decent. Beds are provided. Please bring your sleeping bags. Toilets and showers are available. There is kitchen with all necessary equipment for cooking. Volunteers will be served food cooked by the hosts but are asked to assist cleaning.

Kriusilla Farm is one of them. This is the organic farm dealing with traditional bees-keeping and growing vegetables, also with forestry - all promoting sustainable lifestyle. This camp is proposed for volunteers who appreciate and share eco-values, want to learn more about it and to help hard working people. This camp follows positive experience of the camps for 20 years.

Together we will build a storage room, built in stone. There already exists at this location an old slab and a retaining wall on which the building that we are going to construct will rest. Your mission will be to take this slab and start the foundations of the storage room. The reconstruction is planned in local stone, using the same method as all the buildings on the site. The objective is for the building to be in harmony with the whole. There will be 4 working days per week, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This work does not require any particular skills and will be supervised by a technical supervisor.

The hamlet of the Vallauria mine is located at an altitude of 1500 metres. The site is in the middle of the mountains, crossed by the river. We are 10 km from the village of Tende 06430 (2 hours from Nice by train) and 50 km from Ventimiglia (Italy). The site is a 3-hour walk from the mythical Valley of Wonders with its 40,500 engravings dating from the Neolithic period, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In addition to the weekend, one day in the middle of each week will be devoted to discovery and entertainment activities. You will discover the mountain environment, with its fauna and flora and the surrounding hikes (hiking on the archaeological site of the Vallee des Merveilles in the Mercantour National Park). You will have the opportunity to discover the historical and cultural heritage of the region, visit the surrounding villages and meet the inhabitants of the valley. You can also do sporting and thrilling activities such as canyoning, via ferrata, climbing, etc. We will organize activities and entertainment on site according to the wishes of each and every person in the group.

The accommodation is located on the construction site. You will be accommodated in dormitory rooms with 4 to 6 beds equipped with mattresses, pillows and bathroom facilities. Please bring your sleeping bag. You will participate in the collective and daily life of the group and the place. Food is provided in the budget, and meals will be prepared by you in turn, accompanied by the group life facilitator and in a kitchen with all the necessary equipment. You will participate in cleaning dishes and tidying up dining areas and the kitchen. Specific foods may be requested in order to cook typical dishes from each country or region. It is also possible to request vegetarian meals.

The Neige & Merveilles association welcomes you to the heart of the Mercantour National Park at an altitude of 1500 m, to work on the continuation of the Vallauria mining hamlet development project. You will discover an exceptional geological heritage and take part in a human and collective adventure which has lasted for more than 60 years. The Neige et Merveilles association has been working since its creation to revive this historic site in order to offer a haven of peace promoting discovery, meetings and diversity around the volunteer sites and the people on site.
On this masonry renovation site, you will participate in the reconstruction of the site ravaged by storm Alex in 2021. The mining site suffered the full force of this storm. The consequences were numerous, between material damage and impacts on the functioning of the structure. Since 2021, the association has done everything it can to rehabilitate the site in conjunction with the town of Tende, the Mercantour National Park and various local stakeholders.

On sunny days, volunteers will remove invasive plant species (such as wild lupine and Himalayan balsam) from roadsides and clear overgrown areas.Additionally, volunteers will assist in setting up and dismantling traditional celebration events, helping in the community cafe, and other related tasks. The work is a mix of hands-on outdoor activities and indoor maintenance, ensuring a meaningful and engaging experience for all participants. Most importantly the volunteers will be able to immerse themselves into this lively and welcoming community with rich cultural traditions.

Each day of the camp will have a program completed by local coordinators and the volunteers will be helping to realize it. The main activities will be intercultural learning through finding differences and similarities between Estonia and countries, where volunteers come from (history, traditions, language, singing, dancing). It will be done through games, drama, sport, discussions. We expect that volunteers would lead a workshop connected with their culture (traditional dances, games, everyday life, food specialities, etc.) It can be educational one or as a game to play. International language camp is organized for teenagers by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALP S) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. The project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to the youth and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication by means of alternative English language practice which includes meetings, visits and direct contacts to young people from abroad. The project gets teens of 14 to 16 years old familiar with national traditions of the countries from all over the world, encourages them to develop their global thinking and individual initiative, tolerance and resistance to xenophobia and ethnic hatred. Camps give foreign participants a great chance to meet youngsters both from Estonia and other countries as well as to experience local life. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Camp participants will gain ideas and skills how to deal with a million of combinations of the world s reality.Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Thematic photo and video contests for camp participants will be organized.

You support the youth department of the city of Nürtingen with several projects in different parts of the city. Creativity and manual skills are required. A few more projects are still being planned, so stay tuned!
- Collaboration at the youth culture festival
- Collaboration at the Neckarfest (large city festival with thousands of visitors): Some of you will be put to work at two stands, looking after a pile of slate (festival visitors can knock fossils out of the rock) and doing face painting for children. The others will be divided up and work at a barbecue or dishwashing stand, for example. You will also lend a hand with the construction.
- Wall design in a staircase and rooms in the youth center
- Under the guidance of the Swabian Alb Association: work in the forest, landscaping work in the garden of the accommodation, maintenance of war graves
- Renovation and design of a construction trailer for childcare

Nürtingen has about 41,000 inhabitants and is located on the river Neckar near the Swabian Alb. You will be provided with well-maintained bicycles. Ride through the beautiful landscape, to nearby lakes, along the Neckar or explore the biosphere area at the foot of the Alb. You can reach the outdoor pool in eleven minutes, the city center in eight. There is a direct train connection to the nearby student city of Tübingen with its numerous half-timbered houses. The train takes half an hour to the state capital Stuttgart. Many possibilities await you there: Museums, galleries, shopping, big zoo, planetarium, theater, clubs, vaudeville, etc. The city of Nürtingen invites you to various activities. Among them is an excursion with minibuses. You will visit a castle on the Swabian Alb and make a cave crossing. You will also meet young people from Nürtingen. The members of the youth council are eager to meet you. One evening you are invited to a barbecue in the youth center Roßdorf.

The Swabian Alb Association is nice enough to let you use its building on a hill in the Neckarhausen district. From the spacious grounds with an open-air stage, you have a wonderful panoramic view of the Swabian Alb. On the first floor you can use the large, light-flooded dining room. Behind it is a professional kitchen with a catering dishwasher. In the basement is the room where around ten people in your group can sleep on 10 cm thick insulating mats. If you wish, you can also lay out your mats in the garden in tents, in the shed or under the canopy. Please bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. We will set up an outdoor shower for you in a shower tent. Of course with hot water.
You cook together. You will be provided with money for shopping. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please indicate any intolerances when registering.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming "Ohenro (pilgrims)" who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting "Kakurin-ji temple"; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for "omotenashi (hospitality)". Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

WorkThere will be also some voluntary work such as painting of community buildings, making wooden toys and games for local orphanage, repairing benches and tables, cleaning local beach and old local park from garbage, planting trees, little renovation works in the local school, clearing pavement, helping seniors living in the community with some household duties, preparing fire woods for heating, berries and herbs picking to give the crop to the orphanage and seniors home, duty in a kitchen and around the camp once in a shift, etc. The work will be organised in cooperation with local forestry department, municipality of Nova and local school. Please note that the work described above is planned for the whole summer and it may change from one shift to another depending on local needs, the season and weather conditions.

AccommodationIn wooden huts set by the local school nearby the seaside (500 m away). Please bring your sleeping bag and mat. Showers, toilets are provided in the school and there will be additional bio-toilets set on camping site. You can have traditional Estonian sauna every dayCateringMeals are served 3 times a day. There are water machines with cold water in the school complex. Catering takes place in the schools mess hall or into the lager tent outside near the mess. Meals are cooked by professional cooks. Camp common language is English. Local languages are Estonian and Russian.Participation feeUnlike the normal camp there will be not too much of work here. Nevertheless, participants will be provided with board, lodging, local transportation and all equipment necessary to realize camp program. Besides, program involves a lot of extra costs for excursions, trips out, visits, sport activities, equipment, materials and general administration and leadership. Since neither EstYES nor its local camp partner, does not receive financial support for this camp from municipality or private sources, to realize this camp we have to charge participation fee of 500 Euro, which covers all camp and program costs including transfer from Tallinn to and from the camp, and which has to be paid by bank transfer before the camp or by participants upon arrival to the camp. The bank details will be provided after the acceptance of the participant to the camp. This camp is organized for teenagers by youth sport club Lukas-Basket which has been running national youth camps for 25 years and International ones for the past 12 years. International teenage camps will be hosted on seaside in the West of Estonia in Laanemaa County in the municipality of Nova. Beautiful nature, numerous historical places, 200 years long tradition of health resort, unique cultural events are the treasures of the County. Nova with warm sea, white sand, mushroom and berry crops, picturesque lakes, cobble stone road and many places of interest is ideal place for leisure. The aim of Nova camp is to give young people possibility to have active, healthy and meaningful summer vacations with different sport adventures, to enjoy unspoiled nature and to learn to live in harmony with it, also to explore and realize their own capacities and limits. The program will include water activities, sport and ball games, eco-hikes, bicycle trips to places of interest, horse riding, fishing, rowing, acquaintance with local culture and many other exciting things. Mens sana in corpore sano (Healthy Spirit in Healthy Body) i this is the message of the camp Besides all this, camp gives possibility for intensive contacts between local youth and their peers from abroad, showing youngsters the diversity of world cultures, broadening their horizons and encouraging active communication through games and creative activities. Finally, there will be some voluntary work for nature protection and to support local community. The area of the camp is about 3 hectares and it can host over 60 youngsters on one shift. Volunteers will conduct environmental and cultural studies in DEMRE, one of the current parts of the ancient Lycian Civilization. Maritime and sea trade have become a culture of thousands of years in this region since the Lycian and Phoenician civilizations, and for this reason a cabotage festival is held every year. Volunteers will take part in the preparation and organization of the festival.
They will also be involved in the cleaning and arrangement of the famous Lycian Way. The ancient Lycian Way is under threat due to highway construction in the region. The work to be done by the volunteers will raise awareness. The region is also the region of the Caretta sea turtles. There are also auxiliary works related to turtles.
There are many ancient structures and natural beauties in Demre that volunteers can visit and contribute to.

The aim of this workcamp is to preserve the natural reserve area surrounding called "Fonts del Rio Algar." More concretely, the work will be mainly dedicated to parks and gardens maintenance or ?arboretum?: removing the over-grown grass, weeding some parts of the grasslands and the edge of the woods, maintaining footpaths. Volunteers will also take part in the clean-up of some areas of the reserve where building waste has been found, and if time allows it, they will carry out some painting works around the centre.
There will be other additional tasks to change the daily routine of the volunteers. Volunteers might participate in projects using recycled materials, such as sculptures, murals, mosaics, crafts, artistic activities, or other initiatives requested by the local town hall. Also, here may be a day of social work with the youngsters of the town in the local youth center, depending on availability and planning.

The municipality is located in the province of Alicante, in the northern part of the Marina Baixa region, 10 km from the coast and 42 km from the city of Alicante.
Algar Waterfalls at only 15 km from Benidorm and 3 km from the center of Callosa. This area was declared a Wetland protected by the Valencian Government. It is a park about the importance of water as an environmental resource, economical and cultural. The visit is a route through a circuit of 1.5 km in length along, where you can walk through the bed of the river Algar, see the spectacular waterfalls and the numerous sources, the "tolls" (pools of water) where you can take refreshing swims in crystal clear water, the old dam, the imposing century-old canal and ditches still in use.
Apart from the Waterfalls, there are other interesting sites in Callosa like the cultural heritage of the town, old narrow streets in the center. Also, there are several beautiful hiking routes around Callosa. One of the most spectacular places is El Fort de Bernia.
Not far from Callosa, you can visit a town called Guadalest which has an ancient castle. Also, Altea, another beautiful town near the sea can be visited. The beach is not far from the house and somedays, the volunteers can take a trip to the beach of Altea.

In a small rural house with basic conditions, some kilometres away from the village centre, with 2 different rooms. No need to bring a mattress but bring lower sheets and a summer sleeping bag are necessary. The centre is equipped with showers and WC.
The food is provided by our campleaders and the volunteers will be cooking in groups by the guidance of our campleader.
Please keep in mind that during the summer, weather conditions may not be optimal due to the high temperatures.

The extra fee has be paid by card ( in the exceptional cases we can accept bank transfer as well) 3 weeks before the camp as a confirmation of participation.
If we don't recieve the fee and the flight/bus tickets of the volunteer, we will consider that she/he will not attending to project and we will give opportunity to other volunteers that are on the waiting list.

Workcamp participants are invited to work in different fields: manual, artistically, pedagogical. During the youth camps, you will communicate with kids from diverse backgrounds and join their activities. You will support the camp in logistic areas and support the construction and decoration of an artistic project. It would be helpful to prepare in advance and offer your own workshop — whether artistic, musical, or athletic—and bring fresh and inspiring ideas. In addition, all volunteers will have the chance to introduce their countries. You should collect ideas at home and bring necessary materials for a creative presentation, including pictures, food, games, or other typical things from your countries. Further details will be provided after the placement in the workcamp. Besides the announced activities, the volunteers will also need to take responsibility by leading groups of young campers in daily works like catering and cleaning.
Study part: The study part of this workcamp will focus mostly on the question about life between past and future, tradition and modernity, small-town life and global correlations. Working at “Himmelsfels“ always encourages encounters between people from different cultures and diverse background.

The venue itself has a high recreational value: Joint activities like evening campfires with young people from several continents, a stroll through the centre with its old half-timbered houses and you can explore local sites of interest and visit Kassel, which is famous for the international art festival “Documenta”.

Spangenberg is a small German village that lies in the Schwalm-Eder district about 35 km southeast of Kassel. Accommodation will be basic and simple. Volunteers will sleep in caravans, sharing rooms with others.

Volunteers with interest in performing arts are very welcome and it would be great if you are interested in a Christian spirituality. The „Himmelsfels“ (Heavens rock) in Spangenberg is the territory that occupies 8 hectares. In Himmelsfels there are so-called embassies, i.e. caravans that have been modified artistically to be tiny houses for German and international guests of the Himmelsfels. Every year Himmelsfels hosts events dedicated to art, culture, Christian gospel music and youth Encounter. This summer season, there will be three international youth camps comprising about 70 – 150 young people from various countries.The volunteers will help to enrich the current youth camps by becoming part of our international staff, by supporting the activities for the youth and the infrastructure of the camps. Location: The workcamp takes place in Hroznetin, a small town in western Bohemia with about 2,000 inhabitants. There is a small grocery store, a school, a post office and a pharmacy nearby Ostrov. There is good phone reception. The work activities will take place in the town and near the recreational area of Velký Rybník. The closest cities are Ostrov (5 km) and Karlovy Vary (12 km) where you can find doctors, pharmacies and ATMS. The region is popular among tourists for its beautiful countryside near the Ore Mountains.
Leisure time: There is a possibility to arrange a trip to Karlovy Vary - a city famous not only for its world-famous spa but also for the Film Festival that will take place at that time. You can visit the town of Ostrov and its sights - the castle garden, also known as the 8th wonder of the world, the local monument zone in the city centre, the Prince's Palace, Ostrov Castle and other beautiful churches and monasteries. Hroznětín organizes many events for local residents and works on activating the local community in which volunteers will have the opportunity to participate if they wish.
Study part: You will learn about the history and future development vision of the town of Hroznětín, as well as explore Czech culture and the beautiful nature surrounding the area. Volunteers will discuss the connection to the place where they live, the importance of volunteering for public spaces, and how to motivate locals to overcome their hesitation and engage in volunteering.

The accommodation is located at Penzion Mlýnský dům, Mlýnská 5, Hroznětín. Volunteers will be accommodated in apartment rooms for 2-3 people, each with a kitchenette and bathroom. The hygiene facilities include fully equipped bathrooms with showers, bathtubs are also available. Volunteers don't need to bring anything as everything is provided. For meals, volunteers will prepare their own breakfast and dinner, with a financial contribution provided by the partner organization. Lunches will be provided, including vegetarian options, volunteers will be able choose from the available menu. There is a local shop where volunteers could buy food, there is also other shops in the nearby town of Ostrov.

The LAG focuses on the support and development of the region through organizing and funding educational and cultural projects, connecting various stakeholders, preparing tourist brochures or co-organizing volunteer activities. The main aim of the workcamp is to introduce the volunteers to the cultural heritage (UNESCO) and natural beauty of the Krusne Hory and to present the local history and the importance of the work concerning the significance of the place. Pitkis-Sport is the largest children s sport camp in Finland, with hundreds of participants and a large number of national volunteers. This year the theme of the camp will be nature. The kids will be able to try over 40 different sports activities during the camp. The program includes e.g. rugby, American football, lacrosse, taekwondo, Sport Chanbara and Highland Games. The ages of the children participating in the camp will be mainly between 7 and 15 years old.
