Help restore a mill in Freissinieres!
The Commune would like to restore the Moulin de Viollins, located along the Biaysse torrent and a popular passageway for hikers.
You're invited to take part in the process of giving the mill a new lease of life.
On the program: site clean-up to prepare the work area, removal of collapsed roof elements, removal of deteriorated walls, sorting of stones, deconstruction of unstable wall sections, repointing of masonry...The aim of your work will be to restore the mill's perimeter walls, in particular by sorting materials and laying a sloping glacis.
This is a high-mountain project, so please read the description carefully before applying. You'll be asked to provide a letter of introduction to the project before you can register!

The commune and valley of Freissinieres is located in the Hautes Alpes (05) at the gateway to the Ecrins National Park, in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region. The Viollins mill site is located downstream from the commune in the direction of Freissinieres. It lies on the banks of the Biaysse torrent.
In winter and summer alike, the well-sheltered valley offers a wide variety of activities: discovering the region and its specialities, hiking, nature sports, meeting local people and intercultural exchanges...

You'll be staying in the cabin's outdoor area, in a large, shady spot where tents
tents will be pitched (and supplied by CONCORDIA). The commune also provides a village hall with WC access and a covered kitchen. No WIFI available, but telephone reception.
Meals will be prepared either in an outdoor kitchen or under the small covered facility. You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the animators, and you will participate in the shopping and preparation of meals, giving priority to healthy, vegetarian, local products.
A recipe booklet will be provided to encourage responsible purchasing and sustainable eating.

WARNING: a motivation letter is required for this project in order to accept your application. We strongly recommend that you take this occasion to underline your interest for the project.
Remember to bring gloves, work clothes and shoes. Nights can be chilly, so bring a good comforter and warm clothes. Don't forget to bring sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc.).
You can also take along recipes from your country/region, musical instruments and games. Participants will be asked to provide a letter of motivation. Don't forget to include it with your application!

This project is being carried out in collaboration with the Mairie de Freissinieres and the Parc des Ecrins, who, following the restoration project in the Mercantour Park in 2024, have shown an interest in supporting the projects planned for 2025. The commune wishes to restore the Viollins mill, which is part of the commune's rural heritage and could also become a shelter for walkers.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming "Ohenro (pilgrims)" who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting "Kakurin-ji temple"; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for "omotenashi (hospitality)". Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

Working with the organising team, your work will be to fit out and embellish the site so that it can accommodate groups of young people, the public, and the artists. Setting up the infrastructure (outdoor kitchen, refreshment areas, stages). You'll also help set up the tents. During the festival, you will have the choice of welcoming and guiding the public or the artists. Working hours will be spread out over the day depending on the day's activities. In the run-up to the festival, you'll also be involved in a number of communication activities, such as putting up posters in shops and appearing on the radio.

You'll be able to enjoy a wide range of activities, including a visit to Bordeaux and a trip to the famous Bay of Arcachon. You'll be in the Bordeaux wine-growing region, so a visit to one of the chateaux is also possible.

Accommodation will be in tents for one or two people, on the festival site, in an isolated area. You must bring a warm duvet and a pillow. There will be a kitchen area, a dining room, and a living area. All the facilities are located close to the campsite: showers, toilets and a room in case of bad weather.
Food will be provided for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (you will have a food budget that the leaders will manage and communicate with you throughout the work camp). Meals, especially lunch and dinner, will be prepared by participants on a rotating basis, ensuring respect for environmental values, local resources, and everyone's cultural preferences. Both hot and cold dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan options, will be included. During the festival, meals will be provided by on-site catering.

This camp is open to participants aged 16 to 20. During their stay, SEEDS organises a programme that combines learning, sharing, getting to know Iceland and its culture, and having fun while exploring the city and some of the most stunning natural attractions in the Golden Circle and Reykjanes Peninsula excursions. Note that this is a learning/sharing camp and not a regular workcamp; this project has a smaller volunteer work part and emphasises the personal learning process over the community impact. We may be able to organise some outdoor voluntary work, but it depends on our partners and the weather conditions.

Participants will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities. Note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music or games from your country for the intercultural evening. Be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

This is the eighteenth year (since 2008) that SEEDS has organised a series of International Photography projects and we began organising these camps for teenagers in the year 2010. Throughout the year, participants from all over the world come to Iceland for an immersive photography-focused learning camp. SEEDS coordinators help participants to develop their unique photographic skills through workshops and feedback sessions on technical settings, compositional considerations, and creating conceptual frameworks that highlight each participant s individual style. Participants will have time to put the theory about photography into practice, exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant will be selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods, and laptops, if possible. While learning about photography, the participants have the opportunity to explore Icelandic culture through active participation: capturing it, engaging with it, and showcasing their work throughout the camp. One of our goals is to empower young people to use photography to highlight environmental and cultural subjects and issues.Participants should be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances during activities and working within a flexible schedule. Participants will be photographing in their free time outside of workshop hours with images to be discussed at group feedback sessions.

This camp allows volunteers to learn about global and local environmental issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits, as well as to contribute directly to environment protection by joining outdoor cleanup tasks. These cleanup tasks may be arranged in partnership with the above mentioned organisations or run solely by SEEDS. We also aim to involve the local community, so some of our events may be open to the public. We hope participants will learn how to plan and carry out their own trash cleaning projects back at home. This project is based on similar activities around the world, where outstanding results have been achieved with volunteers. Volunteers can choose one of the two options below, included as hands-on volunteering activity in the camp:1. A day trip combining a visit to the HellisheiE(i geothermal power plant, a trash collection in the area, and the Hot River Hike, a hike up a valley filled with hot springs where one can bathe. 2. A day trip to the Reykjanes Peninsula, combined with a coastal cleanup in the area.Please note that all activities are subject to weather conditions and the availability of our partners.This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. No previous experience is needed. Volunteers should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors, walking medium to long distances during the cleanups, and during other activities such as sightseeing. Since a part of the project happens outdoors, volunteers should be ready to adapt and be flexible with the work and free-time schedule. Depending on the weather, we may not be able to perform some of the activities as planned.

The Environmental Awareness and amp; Action project is part of a series of camps organised by SEEDS in cooperation with different partners. SEEDS collaborates with the Icelandic Ministry for Environment and Natural Resources, the City of ReykjavEk, and several local stakeholders on a project to clean up the Icelandic coastline. Partners include the Blue Army, an organisation dedicated to the cause of coastal cleaning, SORPA, the waste collection and amp; management entity in the capital area, and Whales of Iceland, an exhibit showcasing life-size models of whales and porpoises to educate the public about their lives and the impact of human activity on their existence.

Il campo si svolge nello splendido scenario dell’Area Marina Protetta Penisola del Sinis – Isola di Mal di Ventre, istituita nel 1997 a tutela di questo territorio costiero delicato quanto prezioso. Il comune di Cabras, gestore dell’Area Marina Protetta, da anni è impegnato in un importante percorso di conservazione della biodiversità e della tutela del mare, dedicando risorse allo sviluppo di un turismo sostenibile e responsabile, puntando quindi sull’uso rispettoso del mare e del territorio da una parte, e sulla valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale e archeologico dall’altra. I campi di volontariato che Legambiente realizza quest’estate, in collaborazione con l’AMP e il comune, si inseriscono in questo contesto; gli obiettivi sono di sensibilizzare gli abitanti e i turisti a una fruizione corretta dell'ambiente marino e costiero e di migliorare l’offerta di turismo sostenibile sull’isola, attraverso la sorveglianza dell’area protetta, il monitoraggio e la pulizia dai rifiuti.

II volontari garantiranno un presidio costante dell’AMP e svolgeranno le seguenti attività: informazione e sensibilizzazione dei turisti sulla corretta fruizione della spiaggia, con particolare attenzione alla tutela delle spiagge con granuli di quarzo, pulizia delle coste dalla presenza di eventuali rifiuti spiaggiati, monitoraggio e catalogazione dei rifiuti spiaggiati provenienti dal mare, raccolti secondo la normativa europea del Beach Litter e Park Litter nel caso di pulizie delle dune e zone retrodunali.

A ovest di Cabras, la penisola del Sinis, si protende nel mare con una costa bassa e rocciosa, estendendosi nell’entroterra con un altopiano brullo e una bassa macchia mediterranea odorosa di rosmarino e di ginepro. Alla scogliera si alternano anche spiagge memorabili: a nord di capo Mannu le dune e le sabbie di Is Arenas sono coperte da una storica pineta, mentre a sud la costa si articola in cale di sabbia, promontori rocciosi e stagni. A sud delle suggestive scogliere di Su Tingiosu si trovano alcuni gioielli naturalistici, le spiagge di granuli quarzosi (del tutto simili a chicchi di riso) di Mari Ermi e Is Arutas. Alle spalle delle spiagge, di grande interesse naturalistico lo stagno di Cabras, e la laguna di Mistras, mentre di grandissima suggestione sono le rovine della città, prima nuragica poi fenicia e infine romana, di Tharros, situata proprio in riva al mare.

Attività formative
I volontari saranno coinvolti in attività di formazione tenute dai responsabili di Legambiente e dal personale dell’AMP sulle caratteristiche naturalistiche e storico-culturali del territorio, sull'avifauna e fauna selvatica del territorio e sulle attività di lavoro. Sono previsti focus sulla raccolta differenziata. Verranno organizzate anche delle passeggiate ed escursioni nell'entroterra del parco con relative informazioni sulla flora dell'area. Verrà inoltre organizzata una vista al CRES, il Centro Recupero Tartarughe della zona.

Ostello di Funtana Meiga - casa del Parco. A circa 30 min a piedi dalla borgata marina di San Giovanni di Sinis: l’ostello è dotato di camere con 4 posti letto ciascuna con un bagno comune con doccia ogni due camere. Sono presenti una cucina per la preparazione dei pasti e spazi esterni per il relax dei volontari.
Requisiti e materiali
Buona attitudine a camminare e andare in bicicletta. Disponibilità al confronto con turisti e fruitori delle spiagge. Buona sopportazione del caldo estivo che può raggiungere temperature alte soprattutto in alcuni periodi.

Il campo ha una storia ventennale che segna le tappe di crescita del parco regionale in cui si realizza, di cui crea e sperimenta le buone pratiche, individua e realizza obiettivi fondamentali, a cominciare dalla mobilità sostenibile, lo studio e la conservazione di habitat e specie target, la difesa della legalità.

In accordo con l'A.G del Parco, obiettivo del campo di volontariato è dare seguito al laboratorio di spiaggia chiamato La Spiaggia di Nemo, estendendone l’esperienza alla Spiaggia Grande del Pizzo, la più remota e selvaggia dell'area protetta. In quest’ultima verranno realizzate infrastrutture elementari di tutela e azioni per aggregare e informare/educare la comunità di spiaggia, dove si sperimenteranno forme di comunicazione e coinvolgimento della comunità dei frequentatori/fruitori per diffondere e accrescere l’esperienza e la coscienza. Si realizzeranno azioni di monitoraggio e conservazione della biodiversità sugli habitat e selle specie animali, in particolare per la ricerca ed eventuale custodia dei nidi di Caretta caretta.
I ragazzi divisi in cinque gruppi a rotazione effettueranno: 1) il monitoraggio generale del parco, in particolare dell’impatto turistico, pulizia e verifica delle infrastrutture interne ed esterne 2) il monitoraggio naturalistico degli habitat costieri, rilevare la nidificazione della tartaruga comune Caretta caretta e/o la custodia, monitoraggio e comunicazione al pubblico del nido eventualmente rilevato 3) la manutenzione delle infrastrutture e delle tabelle a protezione della scarpata dunare 4) azioni preventive e di supporto all’AIB 5) gestione interna del Campo base.

Il campo si svolgerà all’interno del Parco Regionale Isola S. Andrea, Litorale di Punta Pizzo. Il tratto di litorale è caratterizzato da un susseguirsi di cale e tratti sabbiosi - sito di nidificazione della Caretta caretta - e di bassa scogliera, con alle spalle un’ampia pineta litorale e tratti di macchia a ginepro e sclerofille ricca di specie subendemiche come lo spinapollici. Nella parte retrodunale è presente una zona umida, di grande importanza per l’equilibrio idrogeologico dell’area e per la biodiversità, in particolare l'avifauna che vi trovano rifugio, sostentamento e siti di nidificazione. Il centro storico di Gallipoli è tra i più interessanti e meglio conservati del sud Italia, e racchiude tra l’altro ben 12 chiese di confraternita, una parrocchiale e la cattedrale, dedicata alla protettrice S. Agata; musei, biblioteche e due dei 40 frantoi ipogei restaurati e visitabili.

Attività formative
Sono previste attività di formazione sulla gestione sostenibile del campo base, dell’alimentazione e delle attività esterne, sulla struttura e le dinamiche ecosistemiche del Parco, la biologia di Caretta caretta, sugli effetti dei cambiamenti climatici e sulle tecniche e buone pratiche di resilienza. Tali conoscenze verranno messe in pratica in team work attraverso briefing/report quotidiani coordinati dai responsabili. Saranno inoltre fornite le istruzioni di base per il primo soccorso e la prevenzione e primo intervento AIB.

L’attività del Circolo di Gallipoli, volta allo studio di soluzioni sostenibili ai problemi della collettività locale, da anni si concentra sulla gestione delle attività e sulla salvaguardia del Parco regionale Isola di S. Andrea e litorale di Punta Pizzo, che svolge in regime di incarico da parte del Comune; programmi didattici con scuole di tutta Italia, progetti di cooperazione con giovani da tutta Europa, reinserimento di giovani per conto dell’Ufficio Affari Sociali e del Tribunale dei Minori e lo stesso campo di volontariato sono solo alcune delle occasioni in cui i giovani entrano in contatto con la realtà del Parco, attuando le campagne di Legambiente Spiagge e Fondali Puliti alla Giornata Mondiale delle Zone Umide e alla Festa dell’Albero e molte iniziative di cittadinanza attiva.

Oro de Prioro is an English-teaching workcamp designed to provide local children and teenagers with a fun and engaging language-learning experience outside the traditional classroom setting. Volunteers will play an active role in co-creating and leading workshops in English for a group of approximately 30 local participants. Together, volunteers will design games, activities, and interactive sessions that encourage children to use and practice English in a natural, playful environment. The goal is to create a space where language learning happens organically—through creativity, play, and meaningful interaction. This workcamp is not just about language; it's about cross-cultural exchange and building connections. Through workshops, sports, games, outdoor activities, group discussions, and excursions, volunteers will help foster a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere where kids can explore both the English language and other cultures. While Spanish language skills are a plus, they are not required—enthusiasm, creativity, and a willingness to connect are what truly matter. Volunteers will work approximately 6 hours per day, Monday to Friday. In the mornings (around 09:00–13:00), they will spend time directly with the children, facilitating activities. Prioro is a municipality located in the province of León, Castile and León, Spain. The municipality has a population of 369 inhabitants. Even though the village is very small there is a circulation with the other villages around. It is 86 km to the Léon city. The characteristics of the terrain have made this area a suitable place to practice hiking and enjoy nature; The source of the Cea River, La Cañada Real Leonesa Oriental, Las Grandes Rutas or GR I, Routes through the different ports such as the port of Mental, the Puerto de la Muela, or the Alto del Puerto del Pando where you can get exceptional views of the Picos de Europa Regional Park. There are samples of the passage of this civilization through this area. In this way, in Villaescusa (a disappeared town between Morgovejo and Prioro) we find a Roman bridge, through which the Roman road continues passing through the bridge of Las Conjas and ascending to Puerto del Pando. Also, there are other important places of interest like churches, small hermitages, the horreos - they are an important part of popular architecture, declared Historical Monuments in 1979, traditional mountain architecture. The extensive natural, the artistic, ethnographic and industrial heritage of the Montañas de Riaño region is preserved in a wide museum network of incalculable tourist and educational value. Prioro Ethnographic Museum located behind the Prioro Consistory building has an extensive ethnographic collection where you can see hundreds of traditional pieces donated by neighbors and classified according to their usefulness, the building that houses the newly built museum houses different exhibition spaces. Also, there are other museums nearby: Riaño Ethnographic Museum Peculiar collection of elements that illustrate the life that was submerged under the waters of the Riaño reservoir, Sabero Steel and Mining Museum, Valdehuesa Wild Fauna Museum.

There is also options to arrive to Madrid Barajas Airport and take a train or bus to León or arrive to Bilbao airport and again take a bus to Léon.

Dal 2017 Legambiente e Diversamente Marinai sono impegnati nella campagna “Vele Spiegate”. In questo contesto Diversamente Marinai propone campi di volontariato in barca a vela di una settimana nell'Arcipelago Toscano. Il progetto prevede la pulizia delle spiagge poco accessibili via terra, il monitoraggio dei rifiuti, il monitoraggio e il controllo delle tracce delle tartarughe marine Caretta Caretta, inoltre andremo alla scoperta dei sentieri che incontreremo nelle insenature dove ci fermeremo e mapperemo quelli che non sono presenti sulle carte. Il progetto mira alla conoscenza del mare attraverso la navigazione e alla creazione di team affiatati e motivati. Per questo i partecipanti impareranno la marineria antica e a farsi equipaggio a bordo di un ketch a vela del 1922. Inoltre, saranno formati sulle principali linee guida in termini di sostenibilità ambientale della fruizione del mare. Non ci può essere vera salvaguardia dell’ambiente senza saper apprezzare il paesaggio naturale. Il campo di lavoro vuole realizzare interventi concreti per migliorare la qualità ambientale mostrando all'equipaggio come vivere sul mare e con il mare sia un’esperienza indimenticabile. Le attività del campo sono arricchite dalla pratica quotidiana della riduzione degli sprechi che la vita di bordo comporta e dalla possibilità di spostarsi utilizzando prevalentemente il vento. Vele Spiegate è un progetto inserito nella Carta Europea del Turismo Sostenibile del Parco Nazionale Arcipelago Toscano per il periodo 2021-2025. Didattica della vela e la vita di bordo: l’attività prevede un corso di primo livello di navigazione a vela e conduzione di un’imbarcazione storica, attraverso la sperimentazione diretta delle nozioni acquisite.
Pulizia e monitoraggio delle spiagge accessibili solo dal mare: il progetto prevede la pulizia di alcune spiagge difficilmente accessibili via terra, attraverso la rimozione dei rifiuti. In tale occasione saranno anche monitorati i rifiuti attraverso la tecnica del Beach litter riportando dati e riflessioni su appositi moduli, fornendo dati che saranno utilizzati per scopi scientifici.
Ricerca e monitoraggio delle tracce della tartaruga Caretta caretta: i partecipanti impareranno a riconoscere le tracce della tartaruga e saranno impegnati anche nella ricerca delle stesse e nella sensibilizzazione di cittadini e turisti.
Mappatura sentieri: verrà monitorato lo stato dei sentieri che collegano le principali vie sentieristiche dell’isola alle spiagge e insenature, raggiungibili prevalentemente a piedi, e presso le quali faremo sosta con la nostra imbarcazione; e eventuale pulizia o segnalazione delle criticità riscontrate

L'Arcipelago toscano è formato da un gruppo di sette isole maggiori, di cui la più grande è l'isola d'Elba, più alcune minori, secche e scogli situati tra la terraferma toscana e la Corsica. L'arcipelago è bagnato da quattro mari: il mar Ligure a nord dell'isola d'Elba, il canale di Piombino a est, il mar Tirreno a sud e il canale di Corsica a ovest delle coste elbane. Il canale di Corsica e il canale di Piombino possono essere considerati come canali naturali di collegamento tra il mar Ligure e il mar Tirreno, rispettivamente a ovest e ad est dell'isola d'Elba.

Acquisizione delle conoscenze veliche di base per la conduzione di un’imbarcazione in sicurezza. Acquisizione delle conoscenze di base di marineria storica. Incremento della conoscenza di alcuni ambienti naturali dell’Arcipelago Toscano e della sua biodiversità. Apprendimento relativo alle emergenze ecologiche dell’ecosistema marino e costiero e correlazione con le abitudini di consumo e trattamento dei rifiuti. Attività formative di base volte al riconoscimento delle tracce della tartaruga marina (Caretta Caretta).
Alloggio
I partecipanti alloggeranno su un ketch a vela in legno del 1922 di 16,5 metri. I pasti verranno preparati in barca e si seguirà un'alimentazione prevalentemente vegetariana.

Swimtrekking significa letteralmente trekking a nuoto: è un modo originale per vivere e sentire l’ambiente, un viaggio in mare con maschera, boccaglio, pinne, muta, portando con sé tutto il necessario per l’escursione in un piccolo scafo in vetroresina da trainare: il barkino. I campi Swimtrekking si pongono l’obiettivo di proporre un’attività in mare che, attraverso l’escursionismo e l’esplorazione, consenta ai partecipanti di maturare un’esperienza autentica di confronto sulle tematiche della tutela e della salvaguardia dell’ambiente marino, anche e soprattutto attraverso la conoscenza della flora e della fauna.
Attraverso la guida di istruttori qualificati, i volontari esploreranno e monitoreranno i fondali marini (dalla superfice del mare) e i tratti costieri contribuendo alla raccolta dati su noci di mare, meduse, delfini e tartarughe attraverso l’applicazione AVVISTAPP (sviluppata e gestita dall’OGS di Trieste). Inoltre, verranno recuperati i rifiuti in mare e lungo la costa che saranno poi utilizzati per la realizzazione di opere artistiche che saranno fotografate, smaltite e, ove possibile, differenziate. Si ricorda che tutti gli istruttori della ASD Swimtrekking hanno una formazione specifica per guidare e seguire le varie fasi di un campo Swimtrekking abbracciando le compe-tenze tecniche della disciplina, conoscenze di biologia marina e di recupero e riciclaggio artistico dei rifiuti.
Lavoro
Le volontarie e i volontari recupereranno i rifiuti dal mare durante le nuotate lungo costa e li trasporteranno a riva.
Al termine delle attività in acqua si progetteranno e realizzeranno delle opere artistiche, utilizzando solo i materiali recuperati dal mare e dalle coste. I rifiuti saranno assemblati dando sfogo alla fantasia per produrre nuove forme che raccontano l’esperienza vissuta in mare. Il lavoro artistico verrà poi documentato attraverso foto e video.
Al termine dell’attività, le opere verranno smaltite seguendo le normative locali di raccolta differenziata. I volontari svolgeranno inoltre le attività di Marine and Beach Litter indagine sulla quantità e tipologia di rifiuti raccolti in mare e sulle spiagge raggiunte durante le escursioni, al fine di contribuire alla Direttiva Europea sulla Marine Strategy.
A fine campo sarà realizzato un video con tutti i contenuti delle attività svolte e consegnato ai partecipanti (munirsi di penna USB).
Altro aspetto fondamentale del campo sarà il censimento di specie marine e delle meduse. L’OGS (Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale proseguirà la collaborazione con Swimtrekking in un progetto Citizen Science estendendo per il 2025 la raccolta di informazioni su ogni avvistamento di meduse, tartarughe di mare, noci di mare e delfini.

Punta Ala è una località costiera situata in Toscana, nel comune di Castiglione della Pescaia, nella provincia di Grosseto. È caratterizzata da un territorio collinare che si affaccia su una spiaggia sabbiosa e ben curata. La località è circondata da una vegetazione tipicamente mediterranea, con pinete e macchia mediterranea che conferiscono un'atmosfera naturale e incontaminata. La zona è anche vicina a importanti aree protette come il Parco Naturale della Maremma, che offre un habitat ricco di biodiversità. Il paesaggio di Punta Ala è davvero suggestivo. Le acque cristalline del mare sono perfette per attività come nuoto, snorkeling e vela. La spiaggia è ben attrezzata e offre numerosi servizi per i turisti. L'area circostante è ideale per escursioni a piedi o in bicicletta, grazie ai sentieri che si snodano tra le colline e le pinete. Inoltre, la fauna locale include diverse specie di uccelli e animali marini, rendendola un luogo affascinante per gli amanti della natura. Punta Ala ha una storia ricca e affascinante. Originariamente, l'area era abitata dagli Etruschi, seguiti dai Romani, che sfruttarono la posizione strategica del territorio. Nel corso dei secoli, Punta Ala ha visto l'insediamento di diverse popolazioni e la costruzione di fortificazioni per difendersi dalle invasioni piratesche nel Medioevo. Un importante punto di riferimento storico è il Castello di Punta Ala, costruito nel XVI secolo per proteggere la costa.
Nel XIX secolo, Punta Ala divenne una meta ambita per nobili e aristocratici, contribuendo alla sua fama come località turistica esclusiva. Oggi, Punta Ala è conosciuta non solo per le sue bellezze naturali ma anche per le sue strutture turistiche di alta qualità.
Attività formative
I volontari, adeguatamente informati in merito a flora e fauna marina avranno il compito di censire, catalogare e studiare i comportamenti delle meduse, noci di mare, tartarughe e delfini incontrate durante le attività di esplorazione lungo costa. I volontari seguiranno inoltre le direttive tema dei progetti Marine and Beach Litter per la conservazione dell'ambiente naturalistico

Il Punta Ala Camp & Resort si estende all’interno di una pineta mediterranea. Il campeggio è una struttura turistica all’aria aperta che adesso occupa ben ventisette ettari ed è un vero e proprio “parco vacanze” dalle polivalenti opportunità di servizi e ospitalità particolarmente attenta e sensibile al tema dell’eco-turismo e alla tematica ambientale. Il Campeggio Punta Ala opera per ricreare un “natural lifestyle”, approccio riconosciuto e premiato da organizzazioni ambientali nazionali e internazionali.
I volontari sistemeranno le tende, fornite dalla ASD Swimtrekking, in un’area a loro riservata attrezzata con cucina da campo, le docce ed i servizi igienici in condivisione con gli altri campeggiatori.
I volontari dovranno munirsi di sacco a pelo, materassi-no ed eventualmente cuscino.
Per quanto riguarda i pasti, la prima colazione e la cena saranno organizzate sempre nell’area riservata del campeggio (vicino alle tende). I responsabili del campo e i/le partecipanti organizzeranno i pasti su base self-catering. Per il pranzo sarà preparato un pasto al sacco che verrà riposto nei barkini e trasportato durante l’attività in mare fino alla località prevista per la pausa pranzo.
Requisiti e materiali
L’attività dello Swimtrekking migliora la propria tecnica individuale nel nuoto, sviluppa l’autocontrollo e la conoscenza di sé e di una serie di tecniche quali l’apnea e il salvamento, studia la flora e la fauna, il moto ondoso, i venti e le correnti, rafforza e accresce le dinamiche del gruppo.
Sarà quindi fondamentale che tutti i volontari sappiano nuotare i due stili principali: lo stile libero e lo stile dorso. Specifichiamo inoltre che non sono assolutamente importanti i tempi di percorrenza e la tecnica indi-viduale ma una certa abitudine all’attività fisica. Si richiede quindi una certa consuetudine con l’attività spor-tiva di qualsiasi genere sia pur blanda. Le persone molto sedentarie non sono adatte a questo tipo di espe-rienza. Chiunque può quindi affrontare in maniera positiva l’esperienza di un campo Swimtrekking se interessato a sperimentare le conoscenze da noi proposte.

La ASD Swimtrekking è un’associazione sportiva dilettantistica affiliata alla UISP che da 30 anni organizza il trekking a nuoto in varie località del Mar Mediterraneo e del mondo.
L’attività dello Swimtrekking nasce con l’intento di esplorare e monitorare l’ambiente marino e si sostanzia nella realizzazione di corsi e stage, sia in piscina che in mare, le cui tematiche spaziano dalla tecnica dello Swimtrekking e dell’allenamento agli aspetti teorici e pratici della sicurezza in mare, della conoscenza della flora e della fauna, della tutela e salvaguardia dell'habitat marino, dello studio e della conoscenza dei venti, delle correnti e delle condizioni meteo-marine esclusivamente in funzione dell’attività stessa che porta. Le attività Swimtrekking coinvolgono bambini, adolescenti, famiglie, adulti e diversamente abili e seguono un progetto ambientale e sociale condotto da un team di educatori e tecnici del settore.

• Ng’onzini primary school was started in the year 1964 by the Mwachinga villagers. The main purpose was to bring learning services near the community. The school was built using local materials until the year 2000 when born free foundation came to build seven permanent classrooms and an office.
• The school is located at Mwachinga village, Dumbule Sub-location, Kinango Location, Kinango Constituency, Kwale County.
• The school is a government school ran by T.S.C Teachers and P.T.A Teachers. The school has an active Wildlife club which initiated a wildlife area (elerock nature trail) near the school environment. Children are made conversant with conservation activities day-by-day out. Other clubs include Debate, Choir and Drama.
• Apart from the government, we have NGOs that do support Ng’onzini School. These include JICA (KEMRI), Plan Kenya, born free Foundation, Camp Kenya. K.W.S also constructed one classroom and the school is managed by committee of parents.

Roddy’s Eco-Cover is a community-based organization founded in 2011 to champion environmental awareness with forestry as key concern
• The project was established by members of the local community with the aim of empowerment for the less fortunate members in the quest to tackle development challenges at the grassroots.

Neema School is dedicated to academic excellent and character education, it supports parents and guardians raise moral children and promote intercultural harmony. Found on principal that are universal to people of all faiths, the school recognizes the belief the parenthood of God leads to brotherhood of humanity. Neema Good Shepherds School is located in Kenya, Bungoma County, Webuye West Sub-County, Khalumuli Sub-location and Sitikho Location. It is 13KM from Webuye Town. The school enjoys the scenic views of the Mang’ana whose natural beauty if further augmented by trees planted by vulnerable and orphaned children.
The start of the school
It started the year 2011, 12th January; this was from ECDE to standard four launched by Mr. Moses Makhabila as the vision carrier, with an average number of 80 pupils. This was done after he had done his total investigations and discovered of the suffering of the vulnerable and orphan children within the community. After his proposal, he was seconded by several members of the community who gave him courage by uniting him to nature his dream. As per now, the school has a population of 150 vulnerable and orphan pupils; Right now, the school is from ECDE to class eight.
The school construction
The school started under the banana shade in a voluntary portion of a half an acre of land (1/2). Being donated by Mr. Richard Kombe Wafula, who was also sympathized by the situation the children were passing through. After sometime through our unity we have managed to put up nine (9) temporal class and two (2) permanent class which are still under construction and they need total support by now, of finishing the buildings by plastering, painting and putting on steel windows and doors together with coloring.
The School Staff
The school has eight (8) teachers and the children has two (2) nonteaching staff members; this total to ten (10) workers.
Academics
The school is involved in the academic following the syllabus from the Ministry of Education of Kenya. This means that the school is fully registered by the Ministry of Education.
KCPE National Exams
An average of 30 candidates sits for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams yearly in Neema School. Out of this, the school has made some of vulnerable and orphaned children join Universities and colleges, despite of the fee challenges in the University but as the school, we have been standing in this gap by fundraising and donation from well-wishers. The school has been performing well in the national exam - Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
Out of class activities
To the best support of our children’s the school has several very innovative programs. These are:
a) Drama festivals: Neema School has always produced the best candidates nationally in the national competitions during the music festivals and drama.
b) Scouts: The school has been always participating in scout’s competition nationally and they have emerged the winners always.
c) Games: The school has been participating in sports and has been always the national championships, despite the fact that it lacks enough practice materials for games, athletics both field and track events

"L’Enfance de l'Art", founded in 1997, is an association which aims to help parents in their education role. The organisation aims to gather people willing to bring to their children a creative learning environment where they can find the joy in learning and experience the richness of childhood rather than early specialisation or academic hot-housing. Parents and professionals work together in the structures created by the organisation: leisure workshops, nurseries, schools, kindergarten. To do so, the association follows the principles of Steiner-Waldorf pedagogy.
Altogether, those activities gather a total of 155 children. The nursery, the kindergarten and the primary school, which are all recognized by the authorities, are located in a former boarding school which was abandoned in 2004. This building in now in a process of renovation which the volunteers will take part in.

During this workcamp, you ll have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities. First, you ll work on your self-expression, using your artistic flair to create a graffiti mural in one of the city s neighborhoods. Next, you ll be immersed in the local environment as you work on the Nourishing Forest Trail. Finally, you ll be asked to organize meetings and events with a variety of local audiences, including children, the elderly and local associations. Four young locals will join the team for work and community life. In this way, they ll be able to share their cultures with you, while showing you around their town. You ll be supervised by municipal employees who will share their know-how with you and help you discover the town. You ll work between 5 hours a day, mornings from Monday to Friday.

You ll be housed in the elementary school in the center of the town. You ll have access to sanitary facilities, a kitchen area, several sleeping areas and the schoolyard. Each volunteer will be expected to take an active part in the group s collective life: preparing meals, washing up, cleaning toilets and premises.

No experience is necessary as new volunteers are teamed up with students and experienced volunteers for hands on learning. Volunteer opportunities range from field excavations to basic maintenance and restoration tasks. This year we will be opening test excavations in the field and assisting with historic preservation tasks in early 20th century buildings, including the museum.
The workday is from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. The work is done in a friendly and supportive environment. Please understand that this is hard physical labor and includes digging with a trowel or shovel, screening soil, carrying buckets of dirt, and some other hand tool use. Each person will work at their own pace according to their physical condition.
The temperature can be quite hot or cool and rainy. BRING work gloves, work shoes and clothing, including a warm coat or sweatshirt, sun hat, rain coat, long sleeve shirts and pants as there will be mosquitoes. The work site can be dirty and muddy so multiple sets of work clothes are a good idea. The local mud is a very red color, which can be difficult to remove from clothing. Sunscreen and bug spray will be provided.
Study Themes:
History and contemporaneous events (what was happening around the world while people lived at the site). Geology ? why people chose to mine at this particular site. Immigration ? where the mining community was from, and what challenges resulted from such a diversity of origins.

Location: Sunrise is an abandoned mining town located in a rural part of Wyoming. The area is a mixture of small towns, prairies, ranches and forest. The dig site is situated in a beautiful valley within the rugged Hartville Uplift, in the foothills of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.
Volunteers will attend local cultural events and will have field trips to local cultural and natural areas. They will also attend an international archaeological symposium at the local college.
There will be many opportunities to enjoy beauty and nature and there will be formal and informal discussions about topics of interest to the group. Bring music, games or other activities to share.

Volunteers will be tent camping with field school students. Individual tents, sleeping bags and pillows are provided. BRING any other bedding you wish to use. All food and meals will be provided for volunteers. We will share cooking duties. Excursions into town will occur every other day, to purchase any snacks or personal items that may be desired.
Be sure to tell the other volunteers and the co-leader if you have any special diet needs.

NEAREST STATION: Volunteers should fly into Denver, Colorado. A shuttle bus will be provided on 16 June to pick up and transport volunteers from the airport to Sunrise, Wyoming. The shuttle will depart Denver at 5:00PM. A shuttle will also be provided to drop off volunteers back at the airport in Denver on 30 June. This shuttle will arrive in Denver at around 10:00AM. Schedule your arrival and departure accordingly. The trip from the airport to Sunrise is approximately 3 hours, so it is imperative that the arrival and departure dates and times are met. There is a smaller airport in Cheyenne and if you want to pay extra to fly into Cheyenne, we can pick you up there as well.

Each day of the camp will have a program completed by local coordinators and the volunteers will be helping to realize it. The main activities will be intercultural learning through finding differences and similarities between Estonia and countries, where volunteers come from (history, traditions, language, singing, dancing). Taevaskoja Youth Camp is adventurous hiking camp that has been active for over 30 years. The aim of Taevaskoja camp is to support children s development through non-formal education. During the youth camp kids participate in different workshops about health, safety, culture and enjoy climbing and hiking activities. Taevaskoja is located in South-Estonia, about 220 km from Tallinn. The camp site is very close to the one of the most popular natural touristic place - Suur Taevaskoda (The Large Heaven s Hall), surrounded by beautiful forest and close to the one of the longest rivers in Estonia. Such location brings children closer to unspoiled nature and gives them an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with Estonian national heritage richly presented in the area. Bring nature back to an old gravel mine! You will support the transformation of an abandoned gravel pit into an ecologically valuable habitat and thus give back to nature what humans have taken from it. The Nellschütz gravel company is creating a habitat with a pond, deadwood, rocks and steep slopes on an area of 4 hectares, providing a new habitat for amphibians, insects and various plants. All these tasks are done in close cooperation with the local authorities for nature protection. The site will also be used for environmental education work with children and young people in the future.
Specific tasks will include the construction of a circular path and a green classroom, the creation of a pond, deadwood areas, etc. You will be digging, straightening, planting, sawing and nailing. There will be a wide variety of work with different levels of difficulty. If necessary, workers from the gravel company will support you with heavy machines. A landscape gardener will provide professional guidance.

Nellschütz is located in the south-west of Leipzig. The nearest larger town is Weißenfels, the meeting point on arrival. Weißenfels is worth a visit, there is a historic old town with various baroque-style buildings, a castle, but also nice shops, bars and cafés... but also many lost places due to the structural change in the region. We will try to offer various excursions. Due to the poor public transport most activities and excursions will be realised with the support of locals. They are already exited in showing you their highlights of the region.

The living conditions will be very basic and sustainable. You will live right next to the gravel pit, about 1km away from the small hamlet of Nellschütz. Specifically, there will be several sleeping tents with camping beds and a pavilion with tables and benches as a common room. Cooking will take place in an improvised outdoor kitchen on an open fire. Instead of a fridge, there will be a dug-out earth cellar. There is a compost toilet and solar showers. Of course there is no wifi. You can also use the showers in the public swimming pool from time to time or swim in the lake. Please bring your sleeping bag.
Your group of volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking together. The food will be bought with the camp budget and everybody will take turns for cooking, washing the dishes and cleaning. In order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage volunteers to reduce meat and try more sustainable dishes.

The project is only suitable for people who are comfortable with living and working in the simplest of conditions and want to try out this way of living for a fortnight without too many comforts.

With your commitment, you will make an important contribution to the biodiversity and the transformation of former industrial brownfield sites. There are many places in the area south-west of Leipzig where gravel is extracted. This is done in open-cast mining. As soon as a site is exhausted, large desolate-looking holes are left in the landscape. In cooperation with the local nature conservation authorities and the Nellschütz gravel company, we will support the revitalisation of such a gravel pit with this volunteering project. Many people in the region are looking forward to this renaturation and to you. They will support you at work, in your free time, with food etc. and they are looking forward to meeting you.
The site will also be used for environmental education by school classes and kindergartens, so a circular route through the site and an outdoor classroom will be build.
