Tanabe City is located in south-central Wakayama Prefecture. It is the second largest city in Wakayama Prefecture and the economic and industrial center of southern Wakayama. It is the junction of the Nakaheji and Oheji routes of the Kumano Kodo, and is known as 'Kuchikumano'. With an area of over 1,000 km², the city has the largest area of any city in the Kinki region. Other activities - Homestay, discussion with local people, observation of charcoal making, making plum juice, etc.

This project is actively working for SDG2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with Akitsugawa Promotion Group (APG) since 2024. Tanabe City and Minabe Town in Wakayama Prefecture are Japan's largest Ume(plums) products-growing areas. The region features a unique plum cultivation agricultural system that has been recognized as a World Agricultural Heritage by FAO. This system utilizes nutrient-poor, gravelly, and unstable slopes, preserving firewood and charcoal forests while strategically planting plum orchards. For over 400 years, it has sustainably produced high-quality plums, maintained through various wisdom and innovations. However, the region is also suffering from an aging population and declining birth rate, and sustainable agriculture, particularly plum farming, is in danger due to a lack of manpower. An international workcamp was organized with the aim of spreading the plum and the region's attractions to volunteers from all over the world, and passing to the next generation.

Over 10 people incl. 2 families were living till several years ago, but less and less in these years (almost nobody in the winter), so vols. are needed even more!
*Outcome of this workcamp: In 2023, we had 4 short term workcamps and 1 LMTV project with 13 vols. who greatly contributed to their protecting the houses, farming and caring animals that was difficult to finish by the time they needed without volunteers! ProgramCamp program includes team projects, discussions at the round table, social and sport games, performances in the open air, actions for peace and nature protection, meetings with people, visits to museums and sightseeing as well as presentations of the countries that camp participants and volunteers represent, etc. Every day the camp will have a country presentation, a subject to learn or discuss and a related activity. Teenagers will stay in the camp activities zone from 10:00 to 17:00. There will be one day off in the camp and at least one day of travel outside Tallinn. The day off is spent either under the leadership of a member of the school staff or in the host family. Camp activities will take place in the premises of the language school that is situated in the very centre of the city. To activate teenagers and run the program, there will be a group of international volunteers and members of the local school staff. Longer camp shifts include one trip outside Tallinn.

AccommodationThere are 2 options possible (subject to availability, which will become clear by the beginning of the camp):1) In the premises of The Language School In Down-Town located on the 4th and 5th floors of a business building in the city centre. In summer time, a part of the school is reserved for the camp participants accommodation that includes several separate dormitory bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, a dining area, a large shower area and two separate toilet cabins. Apart from bedrooms, the tea-room for rest will be also organized where teenagers might watch films, read and play board games enjoying soft sofas. Bed linen, pillows and blankets will be provided, so you do NOT need to bring a sleeping bag unless you want so. For the reasons of security, minimum one school staff member and one volunteer will be staying with camp participants overnights to maintain life, catering and general order on the site. To facilitate a smooth and safe environment at school during the off-hours, the entrance to the school must be kept closed at all times. The access to the school and accommodation areas will be managed by long-term volunteers or school staff. Please be aware that you must be inside by 22:00 the latest unless supervised outside by a school staff member. Participants will have breakfasts and dinners at school, lunches i together with other camp participants.2) In the host families of some of local participants who will join this camp. The apartments of the host families may be located in Tallinn or its suburbs. Participants will stay in a separate or shared room. You do NOT need a sleeping bag. Participants will have breakfasts and dinners in their host families, lunches i together with other camp participants in the city. Travel cards will be provided, pick up service at arrival is provided upon request.Please note: it is not possible to stay at any of the camp accommodation options before or after the camp arrival and departure days. If you need a place to stay before or after the camp dates, we can help you to book a hostel in Tallinn.

Special requirementsWe will welcome any ideas to improve the program and your active participation in it. English is the camp language. The age of international camp participants is 14 i 16. Please be aware that during the day program of the camp the participants will be asked to leave their cell phones at their accommodation site to ensure safety of the participants and their engagement with the camp activities. To assure a safe environment for all the campers, we expect all our camp participants will provide their parents letter of consent (Parental Authorization) and travel insurance certificate.Participation feeUnlike the traditional voluntary camp, there will be mostly informal educational activities and guided language practice. Camp program implementation involves costs for boarding and lodging, domestic transport, materials, excursions, visits, cultural activities and general administration. Since neither EstYES, nor its partner ALPS receive any financial support for this camp from state or municipality, to make the camp happen we have to charge a participation fee from 350 to 600 Euro depending on the duration of the camp shift. This is a separate fee that is different from your country sending organization s fee you pay at home. It has to be paid by participants upon arrival to the camp or by bank transfer prior to the start of the camp. If you prefer fee to be paid in cash on arrival please contact us.

International language camp is organized for teenagers by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALP S) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. The project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to the youth and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication by means of alternative English language practice which includes meetings, visits and direct contacts to young people from abroad. The project gets teens of 14 to 16 years old familiar with national traditions of the countries from all over the world, encourages them to develop their global thinking and individual initiative, tolerance and resistance to xenophobia and ethnic hatred. Camps give foreign participants a great chance to meet youngsters both from Estonia and other countries as well as to experience local life. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Camp participants will gain ideas and skills how to deal with a million of combinations of the world s reality.Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Thematic photo and video contests for camp participants will be organized.

Le Prealpi friulane vivono un momento di profonda riflessione su quali possono essere le giuste leve in grado di invertire il declino che stanno vivendo analogamente a quanto si sta sperimentando in tutte le cosiddette aree interne e periferiche e non solo in Italia. L’abbandono drastico delle pratiche agricole e la fine di una zootecnia estensiva che le avevano modellate e invigorite negli ultimi secoli fino al secondo dopoguerra, le stanno spopolando in favore delle aree urbane che offrono servizi e possibilità di impiego.
Una possibilità che le vallate prealpine conservano ancora è rappresentata però dalle bellezze ambientali e dal valore che oggi esse rappresentano in una fase di generale declino della qualità ambientale e di allarmante perdita di biodiversità dovuta non solo all’emergenza del riscaldamento globale.
Nel Campo di Volontariato i ragazzi saranno guidati a fare dei campionamenti sullo stato dell’ambiente partendo dai corsi d’acqua dell’Arzino e del Cosa ed effettuare un monitoraggio attraverso la raccolta e l’analisi dei campioni d’acqua al fine di portare in evidenza le forme di inquinamento che possono comprometterne la naturalità.

I volontari saranno impegnati in attività di campionamento e analisi della qualità dell’acqua lungo i torrenti Arzino e Cosa. Una ulteriore attività sarà costituita da interventi di recupero sulla sentieristica storica affiancati da artigiani esperti nel rifacimento dei selciati e delle murature a secco.

Il comune di Castelnovo del Friuli è situato al centro del Friuli ad una altezza di 250 m s.l.m. nella fascia collinare antistante la pianura
È composto da ca. 40 borgate sparse lungo le colline tutto attorno alla frazione centrale di Paludea.
Il territorio è costituito da un corrugamento montuoso originato da movimenti di faglia nel sottosuolo che alla fine hanno dato ai luoghi il caratteristico aspetto a pieghe con rilievi addossati l’uno all’altro.
Abitato da 1000 anni prima di Cristo il comune è disposto in una posizione amena appena sopra la pianura del Friuli occidentale ed ha sempre rappresentato un luogo di rifugio e protezione per le scorribande e le invasioni che hanno sempre infestato il Friuli.
Fino al primo dopoguerra l’economia si fondava sull’agricoltura di sussistenza ed il luogo era conosciuto per la coltivazione della vite e degli alberi da frutto.

Attività formative
Il ciclo dell’acqua, esame delle opere di regimazione con analisi delle pressioni che insistono oggi sui corsi d’acqua e formazione sui protocolli e le tecniche di campionamento. Inoltre attraverso l’attività di recupero della sentieristica storica i volontari acquisiranno abilità manuali nella costruzione con blocchi di pietra a secco.
Alloggio
L’alloggio, Ostello di Castelnovo del Friuli, è costituito da 2 camerate da 16 posti ciascuna, da una cucina e un'ampia sala multiuso.

Rajaprajanugroh 24 School located in the northern Thailand connected to Laos border. The school is
under the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation under Royal Patronage which supports education, food and
accommodation for the children who have social problem issues, for example, no parents or gradients,

There are about 1,000 students that can come and stay at the school from the primary (7 years old)
to high school (18 years old). Most of the students in this school are from hill tribe villages. This is a
boarding school.

ACCOMMODATION & FOOD: Accommodation is in tents with bedding provided. Food is ‘Canteen style’ with a limited choice but with a vegetarian option. Three meals a day are provided, which includes a cooked breakfast and / or cereals, lunch and a cooked evening meal. Meals are at set times.
IMPORTANT: – Even in the British Summertime it can be VERY COLD AT NIGHT – please ensure you bring enough warm clothes. Wet weather clothing and footwear is also strongly recommended, as the site can get muddy and even the summer can bring a rainy day.

Forte de son histoire, la forteresse accueille des bénévoles internationaux·ales depuis les années 1980 afin de l'entretenir, de la valoriser et d'animer la vie locale durant l'été. Cette année, ce sont 5 chantiers internationaux qui y sont organisés sur la période estivale. Tu participeras à la première session de l'année.
Viens participer à la sauvegarde et à la valorisation de ce patrimoine d'exception ! Autour du château, tu réaliseras plusieurs travaux de restauration. Accompagné·e par un·e encadrant·e technique, tu participeras à l’entretien des maçonneries en découvrant les techniques traditionnelles : dejointoiement et rejointoiement des murs, fabrication de mortier à base de chaux et de sable, maniement des outils. Tu participeras aussi à l’entretien des boiseries : barrières de sécurité, construction en palettes pour les espaces de détente. Tu participeras également aux actions environnementales de la forteresse : débroussaillage, taille des arbustes, entretien du potager, rénovation des cabines de toilettes sèches. Protéger une telle bâtisse necéssite du temps et beaucoup d'énergie ; viens apporter ta pierre a l'édifice !
With its rich history, international volunteers have been welcomed at the castle since the 1980s to help maintain and promote it, and enliven local life during the summer. This year, 5 international workcamps are organized at the fortress over the summer. You will participate in the first session of the year.
Come and join the preservation and enhancement efforts of this exceptional heritage! Around the castle, you will carry out several restoration tasks. Guided by a technical supervisor, you will help maintain the masonry by learning traditional techniques: removing and re-pointing the walls, making lime and sand mortar, and handling the tools. You will also assist with maintaining the woodwork: safety barriers and building with pallets for relaxation areas. Finally, you will take part in maintining the fortress's environment: clearing brush, pruning shrubs, maintaining the vegetable garden, and renovating the dry toilet cabins. Protecting such a building takes time and energy; come contribute to the effort!

L'hébergement se fait sous tente, à 10/15 min à pieds de la forteresse et à 5 min à pieds du centre de la commune. Tout est organisé sur place dans le respect de l'environnement (tri des déchets et compost) avec l'objectif d'avoir un mode de vie plus écologique.
Au-delà des temps de chantier, les volontaires participent ensemble à l’organisation de la vie collective. Souvent réparti·e·s en équipes, ils·elles élaborent les menus, participent aux courses, préparent les repas et s’assurent de la propreté des espaces communs.
Véritable acteur·ice de ton expérience, tu participeras aussi à la prise de décisions concernant les activités collectives et l’organisation du quotidien !
Accommodation is in tents, 10-15 minutes on foot from the fortress and 5 minutes on foot from the centre of the village. Everything is organised on-site with respect for the environment (waste sorting and composting) with the goal of promoting a more ecofriendly lifestyle.
Beyond the working hours, volunteers come together to organise daily life on the camp. Often divided into teams, they plan menus, help with the shopping, prepare meals, and ensure the cleanliness of shared spaces.
Fully involved in shaping your experience, you will also take part in decision-making regarding group activities and daily organization!

Au cœur d'un charmant petit village bourbonnais, le château de Montaigu-le-Blin est une imposante forteresse médiévale du XIIème, classée Monument Historique. Située sur une petite colline, cette forteresse offre un espace bucolique et intime, proche de la nature avec une belle vue sur les paysages alentours.
Depuis les années 80, des bénévoles participent chaque année à la sauvegarde, la rénovation et à l'animation touristique du château, alors pourquoi pas toi ?
Ces dernières années, la forteresse s'est refaite une beauté ! Les bénévoles ont continué à faire des travaux de maçonnerie traditionelle sur les murs du château et ont développé le potager médiéval au pied de la tour du Seigneur. A vous de prendre le flambeau !
Inside a lovely little French village, the castle of Montaigu le Blin is an impressive medieval fortress, classified as Historical Monument. It is located on the top of a hill, overlooking the countryside. Since 2002, volunteers have been participating, every summer, to the restoration of the castle. These last years, the fortress has regained its beauty! Since the 80s, volunteers come every year to restore and protect the castle. These last couple of years, volunteers restored the castle walls using traditional masonry techniques and developped the medieval vegetable garden at the bottom of the Lord's tower. This year, it's your turn to live an experience back in time!

You will sleep in a dormitory in the big International Maison des Bateleurs, where you will share daily life with international volunteers welcomed under the ESC Program (European Solidarity Corps). Located a few hundred meters from the festival in Montendre, the house provides all necessary amenities: showers, kitchen, garden, bamboo grove, etc. A vehicle will be at your disposal for transportation to the workshop site and for exploring the region. Breakfast and meals will be provided (you will have a food budget managed and communicated by the facilitators throughout the workcamp). Meals, prepared on a rotating schedule with you and the international volunteers, will respect environmental values, local resources, and the dietary preferences of each individual (including hot and cold dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan options). For the first week, you will have lunch at the Maison des Bateleurs, and for the second and third week, you will have lunch with the festival team (on-site catering with various menus, including vegetarian and vegan options).

With the help of members of the association and local historians, you will take part in the enhancement of this emblematic heritage of the town of Eymet. You will learn how to lime the stone walls inside the mill with a mason who is an expert on this age-old technique, and you will work on developing an outdoor patio: weeding, installing a wooden floor and a removable awning, and repairing old walls. With the help of a specialist, you'll learn about the specific vegetation found along the banks of the river and look after it on the mill peninsula. Finally, you will take part in the design and organisation of the built heritage and mills festival, one of the town's great festive occasions.

Site visits, nature activities, you will build your own entertainment program with the animators and the other participants. We favor a discovery of the territory and these actors over consumption activities.

You'll stay in tents on our summer camp on the Moulin peninsula. Access to dry toilets and showers on site. Individual tents or tents for two will be provided, as well as foam trekking mattresses. Remember to bring your duvet and a pillow. You will prepare the menus together, meeting local producers and cooking their delicious seasonal produce. You'll share your meals together in the mill's majestic great hall, where you can spend unforgettable evenings afterwards. Don't forget to bring your own gourmet recipes!

Eymet is a charming medieval Bastide town in the Perigord Pourpre region of the Dordogne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Founded in 1270, this small town embodies the authenticity and charm of the Bastide towns, the fortified towns typical of southwestern France. Eymet is built around its central square, lined with arcades and bustling with cafes, restaurants and shops.
Its rich historical heritage can be seen in the cobbled streets, the fortified church of Saint-Etienne and the remains of its medieval castle, offering a journey back in time. History buffs will also appreciate the half-timbered and stone houses that bear witness to its past. Eymet is particularly well known for its strong British community, which contributes to its cosmopolitan atmosphere while preserving a Perigordian art of living.
Eymet's mill, located on the banks of the River Dropt, is one of the most emblematic symbols of this Bastide in the Perigord Pourpre. Full of history, it bears witness to the importance of mills in the medieval and modern economy of the region, where they were mainly used to grind the grain produced in the rich surrounding farmland.
You will take part in this architectural and human adventure by preparing the mill for summer events. You'll round off your stay by taking part in the local heritage and mill festival, which is held every year on the last weekend in June to kick off the summer season.

During World War II, nine above-ground bunker facilities were built to temporarily store V2 rockets. Volunteers will help preserve the remaining bunker structures by cutting grass, clearing pathways, and making the remnants more visible to the community. These bunkers and their history give Peenemunde its unique character. By contributing to this project, volunteers help to preserve an important part of German history so that it is not forgotten.
The Historical-Technical Museum will provide tools, work gloves, and bicycles for commuting to the worksite.

The town of Peenemunde, with around 400 inhabitants and surrounded by untouched nature, has a rich and eventful history. It is located in the northern part of the island of Usedom and is best known for the first successful rocket launch into space. During the Nazi era, Peenemunde was home to Europe?s largest research center, where "secret weapons" such as the V2 rocket were developed.
Leisure:
Excursions are possible, such as visits to the beach right on site or in the nearby town of Karlshagen, as well as a short trip to Swinoujscie in Poland. Bicycles are available.

Volunteers will stay in cozy vintage trailers on the grounds of a youth hostel. Pillows, blankets, and mattresses will be provided. There will be freshly cooked meals, including vegetarian options for dinner and sandwiches for breakfast and lunch.

With around 850 inhabitants, it offers a peaceful and close-knit community atmosphere. The village is particularly charming due to its historical landmarks, which provide insights into the region?s long history, as well as various recreational opportunities?including a labyrinth, sports fields, and an archaeological nature trail. Lohmen uniquely combines nature, history, and community, making it an ideal place for those who want to experience rural life in a culturally rich environment.
LEISURE:
Volunteers can explore the surroundings by water or go swimming together. Excursions to other cities, such as Rostock, are also possible.

ACCOMMODATION:
Volunteers will be accommodated in a youth club located in a former kindergarten. The accommodation is simple and functional. Outside, there is a fire pit that invites everyone to gather in the evenings. The volunteers should bring sleeping bag and mattress pad with them, as the accommodation only provides mattresses but no blankets.
FOOD:
Meals will be prepared by the volunteers themselves. They can bring their own ideas and recipes, creating a diverse mix of traditional specialties, new creations, and shared culinary experiments.

Aim of the project: With the mission of sustainable living and community development. Volunteers will play a vital role in preserving the village’s natural environment, promoting eco-friendly practices, and supporting local initiatives. By participating in various tasks, such as organic farming, education, and community outreach, volunteers will contribute to creating a more sustainable and self-sufficient village. Their involvement will not only benefit the local community but also provide them with a unique opportunity to learn about different cultures, gain valuable skills, and experience the beauty of sustainable living
Volunteers will teach English to children from 3 to 17 years old (about 15 students per class) and adults, focusing on communication. Besides, the volunteers will support the local villagers in their daily tasks, such as in the kitchen, reception, restaurant, farms, and other manual work, to maintain the beauty and preserve the culture of the village.

Vegetarian options will be available. The volunteers will share meals with all the villagers (three meals per day). They will sleep in a dorm room. There are washing machines and hot water for the shower.

Thai Hai Village is the result of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hai's dedication to preserve traditional cultural values of Tay ethnic group in Vietnam and contribute to building a just and humane society and sustainable development.
More than 30 original stilt houses, at least half a century old was rebuilt and restored in a natural area surrounded by hills and trees in Thai Hai Village. Not only the house's structure but also the ethos of Tay culture, the soul and vitality of the traditional values were preserved and passed on from generation to generation.
Day after day, the villagers cultivate and raise livestock, grow fruits and green tea to accommodate for their daily life, and to serve tourists who come to the village. Together, they form a community that “Eat Together, Share Together”, preserves and promotes their traditional cultural values. After a working day, they gather around the fireplace of the house and sing Then songs (Tay’s traditional singing) with “dan tinh” (traditional musical instrument), with flute and traditional “nang then” dance, together creating a very peaceful and cosy atmosphere.

I campi di formazione e volontariato per minorenni a Pioppi nascono con il chiaro obiettivo di formare i ragazz* alla vita di gruppo, alla scoperta e valorizzazione della natura marina e terrestre del nostro mediterraneo nel meraviglioso contesto del parco del Cilento, ospitati presso il centro Velico di Pioppi.
Oltre all'impegno ambientale, i partecipanti avranno anche l'opportunità di imparare nuove abilità sportive, grazie ai corsi di vela e SUP tenuti da istruttori qualificati. I corsi di vela consentiranno ai giovani di apprendere le basi della navigazione a vela, mentre i corsi di SUP offriranno loro di apprendere una disciplina divertente e sana. L’offerta del centro non si limita all’elemento acqua ma si addentra nella macchia e nella foresta mediterranea grazie al percorso naturalistico orientato che porta alla cascata del Pozzo dell’Uva Nera, agli sport di gruppo presso i campetti di calcio e padel, a soli 300m dal centro Velico, percorribili in sicurezza a piedi.

Alcune giornate del campo saranno dedicate ad attività di volontariato quali pulizia spiagge, pulizia del sentiero e manutenzione aree verdi del centro.
I partecipanti al campo saranno coinvolti attivamente nella pulizia delle spiagge e delle calette locali. Attraverso questa attività, impareranno l'importanza di preservare e proteggere gli ecosistemi marini, contribuendo direttamente alla salvaguardia dell'ambiente.
Un’attività cardine dei campi sarà la visita archeologica guidata presso il parco di Paestum o dell’antica Elea; il viaggio nella storia continua presso Il Museo Vivo del Mare e della Dieta Mediterranea che si trova a pochi passi dal Centro velico, una piccola passeggiata porta i ragazzi presso i Musei gestito da Legambiente e poi al centro del piccolo borgo di Pioppi, piccola comunità di pescatori che conserva intatto il fascino di una storia antica.

Pioppi è la capitale mondiale della dieta mediterranea e uno dei luoghi più belli e noti della costa del Parco Nazionale del Cilento. La cultura mediterranea è ricca di frutti da cogliere durante queste esperienze; le radici culturali affondano nel Cilento sin dai tempi dell’antica Elea, insediamento della Magna Grecia, città stato di Parmenide e Zenone, che insiste a pochi chilometri dal nostro centro.

I corsi sportivi di SUP, Vela e Windsurf saranno seguiti dai nostri istruttori certificati e guidati dai coordinatori di campo sempre presenti ed attenti alle necessità dei ragazz*.
La giornata della legalità si concentrerà sulla figura di Angelo Vassallo, sindaco di Pollica ucciso nel 2010, la cui opera è impressa nella bellezza dei luoghi che ospitano il campo. Incontreremo amici e familiari che con lui hanno condiviso battaglie e sogni.

Il Circolo Cilento Mediterraneo nasce a Pioppi sull'esempio e la memoria di Angelo Vassallo, sindaco indimenticato del nostro Comune, barbaramente ucciso nel 2010.
Il Circolo concentra le sue attività attorno al Museo del Mare e della Dieta mediterranea, che gestisce sotto l'egida di Legambiente nazionale.
Diverse le iniziative che durante l'anno coinvolgono cittadini e turisti, puntando sempre alla conservazione della natura e alla sensibilizzazione sui temi del rispetto per l'ambiente.
Il campo è realizzato in collaborazione con l'ASD Anemos Pioppi, associazione iscritta al Coni, che gestirà le attività sportive del campo.

I campi di volontariato si svolgono nella spiaggia dell’Isola dei Conigli, zona A di Riserva Naturale e sito di deposizione della tartaruga marina Caretta caretta. I campi hanno una duplice finalità: contribuire alla tutela della spiaggia, intensamente frequentata a fini balneari, in modo da garantire le condizioni ambientali idonee all’ovodeposizione di Caretta caretta, controllando l’impatto antropico sul sito; sorvegliare e proteggere i nidi di Caretta caretta, dalla deposizione alla schiusa. Questi campi sono una grande occasione per quanti, appassionati della natura, vogliono prendersene cura svolgendo attività utili ed entusiasmanti, in uno dei luoghi più belli di Lampedusa e del Mediterraneo, meritevole di essere salvaguardato per la sua bellezza e per la sua grande importanza naturalistica.
Lavoro
Il campo prevede lo svolgimento di turni giornalieri di 6 ore circa e, all’occorrenza, turni notturni di 8–10 ore. I turni giornalieri sono finalizzati al controllo della balneazione, mediante sorveglianza ed attività di informazione e sensibilizzazione dei bagnanti, in modo da far rispettare i regolamenti vigenti nella riserva. Dalle 8 alle 20.00 i volontari si alterneranno per coprire due postazioni fisse: una all'ingresso della Riserva e una sulla spiaggia. All'ingresso, i volontari forniranno informazioni ai visitatori e forniranno supporto agli operatori nelle attività di controllo degli accessi alla spiaggia. In spiaggia, i volontari sorveglieranno gli eventuali nidi deposti, saranno punto di riferimento per quanti vogliono conoscere la biologia riproduttiva di Caretta caretta e svolgeranno attività di sensibilizzazione nei confronti dei turisti (inviteranno al rispetto delle norme comportamentali da osservare, effettueranno la pulizia dell’arenile, ecc.). I volontari, inoltre, collaboreranno nelle attività di rilevamento dei dati sulla fruizione e saranno di sostegno agli operatori della riserva per il rilevamento dei dati sui nidi di tartaruga e sui piccoli. I turni notturni si svolgeranno presso la struttura ubicata all'ingresso della riserva e sono finalizzati ad impedire l’accesso in spiaggia di eventuali visitatori durante la notte, che potrebbero pregiudicare gli eventi di nidificazione della tartaruga. Durante le schiuse dei nidi i turni notturni si svolgeranno in spiaggia. I volontari parteciperanno anche alle attività di salvaguardia e sorveglianza (diurna e notturna) di eventuali nidi deposti in altre spiagge dell’isola che rientrano nelle competenze dell'Ente Gestore della Riserva. I volontari, a turno, si occuperanno anche della preparazione dei pasti e della pulizia dell’alloggio.

Molto più vicina all’Africa che alla Sicilia, Lampedusa appartiene all’Arcipelago delle Pelagie. Nel 1996 la Regione Siciliana ha istituito la Riserva Naturale “Isola di Lampedusa”, gestita da Legambiente Sicilia. L’area protetta si estende per circa 360 ettari lungo un’ampia fascia incontaminata della costa meridionale dell’isola ed è finalizzata alla conservazione delle espressioni più significative della fauna e della flora presenti sul territorio. La spiaggia dei Conigli è stata per anni oggetto di ogni forma di abuso e degrado, ma grazie agli interventi di recupero ambientale, controllo e sensibilizzazione dell’Ente Gestore oggi è un modello di gestione e promozione di un turismo sostenibile, che ha saputo coniugare conservazione della natura con la fruizione del territorio.

Attività formative
All’inizio di ogni campo i volontari parteciperanno ad un incontro formativo presso la sede della Riserva (tenuto dal personale della Riserva), durante il quale verranno fornite le principali informazioni sull’area protetta (storia, caratteristiche, regolamento, ecc.), sulla biologia della tartaruga marina e sulle attività che si svolgeranno durante il campo.

I volontari saranno ospitati in un appartamento ubicato in centro.
Requisiti e materiali
Il campo è particolarmente impegnativo, poiché prevede una turnazione continua per garantire il controllo del sito h24. Buona attitudine a camminare; buone condizioni fisiche, capacità di svolgere le attività anche con particolari condizioni climatiche (essere in grado di trascorrere diverse ore sotto il sole, ma anche in presenza di vento, umidità, pioggia, zanzare…).

Il Circolo Legambiente Esther Ada nasce a Lampedusa nel 2011 ed è principalmente coinvolto nell'organizzazione delle campagne nazionali di Legambiente e nella realizzazione di progetti relativi a problematiche di carattere ambientale e sociale. In collaborazione con la Riserva Naturale “Isola di Lampedusa” propone attività di educazione ambientale agli studenti delle scuole dell’isola e si occupa dell’organizzazione dei campi di volontariato per la tutela della Spiaggia dei Conigli, sito di deposizione della tartaruga marina Caretta caretta.
