This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming "Ohenro (pilgrims)" who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting "Kakurin-ji temple"; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for "omotenashi (hospitality)". Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

It is a quite famous city for tourism, culture, and wine production. Indeed, is quite near (18km) the Oporto wine region. Is crossed by TEmega River (one of the rivers ending at Douro River that crosses Porto till the Atlantic Ocean) and it is on the valley of one of the most important Portuguese mountains, MarEpoundo (1450m). Amarante is well located (nearby passes highway A4 connecting to Oporto and highway A11 connecting to GuimarEpoundes)

Participants will be accommodated in shared rooms (4 participants each) of Casa da Juventude de Amarante. Casa da Juventude de Amarante is in the city center of Amarante (just 10m walking distance from the bus station) and has its own kitchen, WC and showers. In terms of food, our youth centre has a bar\restaurant proposal for the volunteers (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) always taking into consideration our aims (healthy food with organic and vegetarian ingredients). Laundry available (self-service). This youth centre has free wireless.

Il campo di volontariato "Custodi delle api e della biodiversità" è un'iniziativa che mira a valorizzare il territorio di Pallano attraverso la tutela dell'ambiente e la promozione della storia e tradizioni locali. I volontari saranno coinvolti nella cura del "Giardino botanico di Pallano", un progetto nascente per la conservazione delle essenze locali, e nella manutenzione dei sentieri dell'area. Il campo offre un'esperienza formativa sul mondo delle api e sull'apicoltura, in collaborazione con l'Associazione professionale Apicoltori d'Abruzzo. Momento culminante del campo sarà la partecipazione all'evento nazionale "Tornareccio Regina di Miele", dove i volontari supporteranno l'organizzazione e promuoveranno la consapevolezza sulla biodiversità con Legambiente. Il progetto combina la tutela della natura con la valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale e agricolo, creando un'offerta di turismo sostenibile e responsabile.

Durante il campo di volontariato “Custodi delle api e della biodiversità” le giornate dei volontari saranno divise in due fasi: la mattina (5 ore di lavoro) sarà dedicata al “Giardino botanico di Pallano”. Qui i volontari saranno impegnati nelle attività di irrigazione, concimazione e cura delle essenze, nella sistemazione della segnaletica per le visite guidate al Giardino e nella manutenzione del sentiero che collega il giardino agli altri punti di interesse dell’area di Pallano. Nel pomeriggio i volontari saranno impegnati in attività di formazione per scoprire il mondo delle api e la tecnica di produzione del miele, la meravigliosa storia dell’apicoltura nomade di Tornareccio e le aziende apistiche locali, grazie alla collaborazione stretta con l’Associazione professionale Apicoltori d’Abruzzo. Il 27 e 28 settembre i volontari saranno coinvolti in un evento nazionale e storico dell’apicoltura. Il borgo di Tornareccio ospita lungo le sue vie e piazze una grande esposizione di mieli prodotti dagli apicoltori del territorio, ma anche i tipici prodotti enogastronomici locali. Compito dei volontari sarà supportare l’organizzazione a livello logistico e allestire un banchetto informativo Legambiente sulle api e la biodiversità.

Le origini altomedievali del borgo sono riconducibili al monastero di S. Stefano in Lucania, attestato nell’anno 829 e fondato dai monaci benedettini dell’Abbazia di Farfa, gli stessi che probabilmente promossero l’edificazione del Castellum Tornariciae. Tracce del borgo fortificato sono ancora presenti nel centro storico, come diversi palazzi signorili e l'antica chiesa di S. Vittoria. Ciò che conferisce al borgo un fascino unico, rendendolo un vero e proprio museo all'aperto, è il susseguirsi di opere musive che colorano le vie e le piazze. Grazie al progetto “Un mosaico per Tornareccio”, ideato nel 2006 dal gallerista A. Paglione, ogni anno artisti di fama internazionale partecipano ad una rassegna d’arte contemporanea e le opere vincitrici vengono trasformate in mosaici dal Gruppo Mosaicisti di Ravenna. Tornareccio è anche la capitale abruzzese del miele. A pochi chilometri da Tornareccio si trova l’area di monte Pallano con le sue ricchezze archelogiche, paesaggistiche e naturalistiche e alcuni paesi da visitare come Atessa, Archie, Bomba e Colledimezzo.

Legambiente Geo APS nasce ad Atessa nel 1989 grazie all’entusiasmo di un gruppo di giovani volontari. Da oltre 35 anni la nostra associazione si occupa del miglioramento della qualità ambientale e culturale del nostro territorio al fine di soddisfare il bisogno di partecipazione, coesione e conoscenza delle persone. Negli ultimi anni abbiamo combattuto contro il traffico dei rifiuti, il consumo di suolo, per la salvaguardia del fiume Sangro e dell'ambiente della Val di Sangro. Abbiamo favorito la nascita del SIC/ZSC Monte Pallano e Lecceta d'Isca d'Archi, luogo di eccellenze ambientali e archeologiche. Legambiente gestisce il CEA Casanatura Fontecampana, luogo di educazione alla sostenibilità per persone di ogni età. Dal 2017 gestisce il Centro del Riuso del comune di Atessa.

Landscape conservation in great surroundings and sightseeing in the big city! - You can experience both at this camp on the outskirts of the metropolis of Hamburg.
You will work under the guidance of staff from the Elbe Tidal Floodplain Centre, mainly in the Boberger Niederung and Borghorster Elblandschaft nature reserves, but also in the nature reserves Auenlandschaft Obere Tideelbe, Allermoher Wiesen, Horster Moor and Heuckenlock areas. In the first week you will work from Monday to Friday, in the second from Monday to Thursday, as Friday 3 October is a public holiday.
The Boberger Niederung nature reserve is an extraordinary place, as sand dunes and heathland, moors and forests, marshland meadows and waters meet here, making every corner of the 464-hectare area diverse and particularly worthy of protection. Around 650 plant species grow here, including many highly endangered or endangered species, such as the broad-leaved orchid. Endangered animals such as the blue-winged grasshopper, grass snake and common snipe can also be found here. The inland dune is the most endangered type of biotope in Germany, which is why one of your tasks is to carry out weed removal measures or to ?ring? the invasive bird cherry, i.e. to take away its nutrient supply by removing the bark.
In the Borghorster Elblandschaften nature reserve, you will also be busy weeding and ?ringing? weeping cherries. This 225-hectare area offers similarly diverse habitats as the Boberger Niederung. Animal species such as the beaver, the oriole and the ant mermaid (an insect species) can be found here. You will also be planting hardwoods in the tidal floodplain.
On a trip to the Elbe Tidal Floodplain Centre in Hamburg-Moorwerder, you will get an insight into the exhibition there and a guided tour of the adjacent, unique Heuckenlock nature reserve (a freshwater tidal floodplain with a 100-hectare alluvial forest, which is located in the south of the Elbe island of Wilhelmsburg and where, among other things, the white-tailed eagle breeds). You will also build and hang up nesting aids and collect rubbish in the Allermoher Wiesen nature reserve.
In addition to the practical work, you will learn a lot about nature and environmental protection in general as well as the nature and habitat in these two special nature reserves from employees of the Elbe Tidal Floodplain Centre. You will learn a lot about the local flora and fauna as well as the special need for protection of animals and plants on the Red List.

You will stay at Haus Warwisch, a quiet and idyllic self-catering house on the outskirts of Hamburg directly on the Elbe. It offers space for two groups. In your living area there is a 7-bed room, a 6-bed room and a 2-bed room. There is also a kitchen, a dining room and lounge as well as a shower and toilet for men and women. A campfire and barbecue area as well as a football pitch and basketball hoop are available in the outdoor area 70 metres away.
You cater for yourselves and cook together. You will be provided with money for shopping. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please indicate any intolerances when registering.

The Society for Ecological Planning e.V. (GOP) is a non-profit nature conservation association. It looks after 14 of Hamburg's 37 nature reserves and runs the Elbe Tidal Floodplain Centre, an important extracurricular educational institution dedicated to the freshwater tidal floodplains, which are unique in Europe. With mostly self-built exhibits on local nature, flora and fauna, the exhibition provides insights into these special features and motivates visitors to try things out and experience them. The staff of the Elbe Tidal Floodplain Centre carry out nature conservation measures in the 14 nature reserves.
The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany. Each year, we assist around 5,000 young people into volunteer work in Germany and abroad. We give them the opportunity to be creative, act in solidarity, take responsibility for themselves, and discover their own true potential and strengths. You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice while exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.The SEEDS programme combines learning, sharing, hands-on activities, getting to know Iceland, its culture, having fun, exploring the city, its attractions and the stunning nature, which you can experience in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances (up to 1,5 hours) during activities and sightseeing. Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact.SEEDS will organise a night photography and aurora hunting workshop in the city or in the vicinity of ReykjavEk. Northern lights are a natural phenomenon depending on solar activity and meteorological conditions, so we cannot guarantee you will see northern lights, but the night photography workshop will be organised anyway.During the camp, the annual ReykjavEk International Film Festival (RIFF) will take place. The main goal is to present dramas and non-fiction films by filmmakers from over 40 countries. SEEDS ds not provide festival passes but participants can attend free off-venue events and screenings.

SEEDS participants will stay in a house in ReykjavEk. The facilities are basic with an equipped kitchen, dining and living room, bathrooms, showers and a washing machine. As participants sleep in shared rooms with up to 6 people, everyone is expected to behave considerately. Please bring your own towel. Participants will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities. Note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music or games from your country for the intercultural evening. Be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

I campi di volontariato si svolgono nella spiaggia dell’Isola dei Conigli, zona A di Riserva Naturale e sito di deposizione della tartaruga marina Caretta caretta. I campi hanno una duplice finalità: contribuire alla tutela della spiaggia, intensamente frequentata a fini balneari, in modo da garantire le condizioni ambientali idonee all’ovodeposizione di Caretta caretta, controllando l’impatto antropico sul sito; sorvegliare e proteggere i nidi di Caretta caretta, dalla deposizione alla schiusa. Questi campi sono una grande occasione per quanti, appassionati della natura, vogliono prendersene cura svolgendo attività utili ed entusiasmanti, in uno dei luoghi più belli di Lampedusa e del Mediterraneo, meritevole di essere salvaguardato per la sua bellezza e per la sua grande importanza naturalistica.
Lavoro
Il campo prevede lo svolgimento di turni giornalieri di 6 ore circa e, all’occorrenza, turni notturni di 8–10 ore. I turni giornalieri sono finalizzati al controllo della balneazione, mediante sorveglianza ed attività di informazione e sensibilizzazione dei bagnanti, in modo da far rispettare i regolamenti vigenti nella riserva. Dalle 8 alle 20.00 i volontari si alterneranno per coprire due postazioni fisse: una all'ingresso della Riserva e una sulla spiaggia. All'ingresso, i volontari forniranno informazioni ai visitatori e forniranno supporto agli operatori nelle attività di controllo degli accessi alla spiaggia. In spiaggia, i volontari sorveglieranno gli eventuali nidi deposti, saranno punto di riferimento per quanti vogliono conoscere la biologia riproduttiva di Caretta caretta e svolgeranno attività di sensibilizzazione nei confronti dei turisti (inviteranno al rispetto delle norme comportamentali da osservare, effettueranno la pulizia dell’arenile, ecc.). I volontari, inoltre, collaboreranno nelle attività di rilevamento dei dati sulla fruizione e saranno di sostegno agli operatori della riserva per il rilevamento dei dati sui nidi di tartaruga e sui piccoli. I turni notturni si svolgeranno presso la struttura ubicata all'ingresso della riserva e sono finalizzati ad impedire l’accesso in spiaggia di eventuali visitatori durante la notte, che potrebbero pregiudicare gli eventi di nidificazione della tartaruga. Durante le schiuse dei nidi i turni notturni si svolgeranno in spiaggia. I volontari parteciperanno anche alle attività di salvaguardia e sorveglianza (diurna e notturna) di eventuali nidi deposti in altre spiagge dell’isola che rientrano nelle competenze dell'Ente Gestore della Riserva. I volontari, a turno, si occuperanno anche della preparazione dei pasti e della pulizia dell’alloggio.

Molto più vicina all’Africa che alla Sicilia, Lampedusa appartiene all’Arcipelago delle Pelagie. Nel 1996 la Regione Siciliana ha istituito la Riserva Naturale “Isola di Lampedusa”, gestita da Legambiente Sicilia. L’area protetta si estende per circa 360 ettari lungo un’ampia fascia incontaminata della costa meridionale dell’isola ed è finalizzata alla conservazione delle espressioni più significative della fauna e della flora presenti sul territorio. La spiaggia dei Conigli è stata per anni oggetto di ogni forma di abuso e degrado, ma grazie agli interventi di recupero ambientale, controllo e sensibilizzazione dell’Ente Gestore oggi è un modello di gestione e promozione di un turismo sostenibile, che ha saputo coniugare conservazione della natura con la fruizione del territorio.

Attività formative
All’inizio di ogni campo i volontari parteciperanno ad un incontro formativo presso la sede della Riserva (tenuto dal personale della Riserva), durante il quale verranno fornite le principali informazioni sull’area protetta (storia, caratteristiche, regolamento, ecc.), sulla biologia della tartaruga marina e sulle attività che si svolgeranno durante il campo.

I volontari saranno ospitati in un appartamento ubicato in centro.
Requisiti e materiali
Il campo è particolarmente impegnativo, poiché prevede una turnazione continua per garantire il controllo del sito h24. Buona attitudine a camminare; buone condizioni fisiche, capacità di svolgere le attività anche con particolari condizioni climatiche (essere in grado di trascorrere diverse ore sotto il sole, ma anche in presenza di vento, umidità, pioggia, zanzare…).

Based on the time of the year the volunteers will be working during the day or at night in the months of August and September from 20:00 to 08:00. Depending on the number of turtles that come ashore, two teams might be formed among the volunteers. In this way, each group will be taking turns, working one night, and taking the next night off for recovery. In addition, the weekends are also spared for resting. Some of the activities to be performed are:
1. Finding adult turtles and collecting their eggs.
2. Moving the eggs to a protected place called Vivero.
3. Releasing newborn baby turtles into the sea.
4. Patrolling the beaches at night.
5. Making some reconstruction in the most important turtle camps of the region.
Please consider that the schedule is subject to change depending on the weather conditions and the condition of the sea turtles and it is possible to work with crocodiles in case there is no work with turtles, this can happen mostly in the months of January and February. The coordinator or the camp leader will be informing you regarding your work schedule.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming "Ohenro (pilgrims)" who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting "Kakurin-ji temple"; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for "omotenashi (hospitality)". Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

Volunteers are invited to help with the care and maintenance of this social centre and its various areas. There is work outside and inside: The meadow orchard must be cleared of bushes and, depending on the weather, apples can be collected and processed into apple juice. The work in the organic vegetable garden also depends on the weather, usually the volunteers help with the harvest of fruit and vegetables. In the castle itself, there is painting and cleaning work to be done to maintain the building. Encounters with kids and people of the region are foreseen. Overall, there is a wide variety of tasks - something for everyone!

Bedheim castle is located in the west of Thuringia, close to the Bavarian border. Next bigger town is Coburg (28 km away). Bedheim is surrounded by the extraordinary beautiful Franconian landscape.
We may learn more about natural beauty of the environment. We can make excursions to places of cultural and historical interest (e.g. Weimar, the city of Goethe and the concentration camp Buchenwald). We can have discussions and lectures about German history, society, culture and politics (the German East-West border was only 9 km away from Bedheim). There will be the possibility to encounter with young people of the region and getting to know more about the countries of the participants.

Bedheim castle offers a simple group accommodation in a seminar house. Beds will be provided. Meals will be prepared by the group (less meat but a lot of very good vegetables and fruits from the nursery). Warm water is provided from a solar collector.

Bedheim castle was first mentioned in the year 1169 and was destroyed and reconstructed several times in its long history. During the last 30 years, the castle became a sociocultural center for this remote region. Currently it offers meeting places for social and cultural initiatives. With historical rooms, the garden café, various types of gardens and being surrounded by beautiful nature, it is a perfect place to meet with friends, to enjoy a good piece of cake or even to celebrate a wedding.
Since 1992, this association has been organizing workcamps. Volunteers enjoy spending their time to meet and work together with the inhabitants. An organic garden, a painter's studio, a goldsmith's workshop and an architect's office are the basis for the existence of the residents. There is even a small castle museum, where you can admire the bones of prehistoric dinosaurs, once living in this region. Last but not least: nice cats and dogs are waiting to be petted by the volunteers!
The aim of this project is to create an atmosphere where people with or without disabilities may come, live and work together without any prejudice against handicap, nationality, or religion.

This project is actively working for SDGs 10 (Reduced Inequalities), organized together with NPO WHITE CANVAS since 2024, a Non Profit Organization to empower mentally challenged people through the power of art. It was established by Kyoko who was a very active members of NICE with a lot of workcamp experiences in Togo, etc. and the company who had been working with her. Then more members joined when the workshop was about to open. They organize the workshop "TIME WARP" that is a workplace for adults with special needs for weaving, pottery, small garden and embroidery work. They all love art and craft, having big interests on humans. They don't stick in specific philosophies, but anthroposophy is one of their guides. They work and study together with a certified anthroposophical doctor, nurse, curative pedagogists and Extra Lesson practitioners.
*Outcome of this workcamp: In 2024, 6 vols. from 4 countries greatly contributed to cut the glasses, friendly exchange with the challenged people and assist the activities/ events!

Help to improve the health and lifespan of trees and contribute to increasing biodiversity. You will work with the other volunteers on an extensively used orchard with over 100 different fruit trees. These fruit orchards have characterised the landscape for centuries and are still used today for both fruit (apples and pears) and hay. Your task is to cut off branches. You will receive a detailed introduction, as there is a lot to consider. You will be equipped with tools and climb ladders to reach the uppermost parts of the tree. There are probably still a few fruits hanging on the trees, so your task would be to harvest these first.
The task is important as trimming trees increases their lifespan and old trees are a perfect habitat for various animals. In general, orchard meadows play an outstanding role for biodiversity in Central Europe and are important for the future. They are among the most species-rich habitats in Central Europe. You will work 5 days per week, 2 days off.

The camp will take place in a single settlement approx. 10 km west of Schwäbisch Hall. The landscape in this area is dominated by forests and steep hills. Only small hamlets interrupt the nature, which makes it a perfect region for plenty of different species but also for hiking. At your camp site there is a barbecue area, several hiking trails, a special cultural landscape trail and a swimming lake (if it's still warm enough) that can be reached on a short hike.
You can also reach a lot by bus: There is a brewery that can be visited; the old town of Schwäbisch Hall has museums, shops and some traditional German historical buildings.

You will spend the night on a youth campsite about 50 metres from the orchard (run by the local forestry administration). It will be an outdoor adventure, because in October the weather is already very autumnal, which means it can also rain, the temperatures drop and the hours of sunshine become fewer. There will be showers and toilets in a house, as well as a barn where you can set up your lounge. If it pours with rain, you can also spend the night here if necessary. There is an outdoor gas cooker for cooking. You don't need to bring a tent, but you do need a sleeping bag, a sleeping mat, warm, weatherproof clothing and sturdy shoes. So if you want to be active in increasing biodiversity, love nature and enjoy simple accommodation, almost like a kind of survival camp, then this camp is perfect for you.
Your group of volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking together. The food will be bought with the camp budget and everybody will take turns for cooking, washing the dishes and cleaning. In order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage volunteers to reduce meat and try more sustainable dishes.

During this camp, participants can share their passion for (and learn more about) global and amp; local environmental issues, as well as photography. If you are interested in topics such as climate change, waste management and sustainability, and you also love taking photos, then this project is for youWhile developing artistic and technical photography skills, you will be focusing on environmental and sustainability issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits facilitated by SEEDS. One of our aims is to help create more environmentally aware consumers and amp; travellersYou will visit local projects on environment and conservation. These may include hands-on activities or guided visits, such as outdoor cleanup tasks, a local fauna and/or flora exhibition or an Icelandic culture museum. Some of these activities are dependent on weather conditions, as on the availability of our partners.You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice while exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.During this camp, the Imagine Peace Tower, located on ViE(ey Island, will be lit and illuminate the night sky of ReykjavEk. Participants will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities. Note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music or games from your country for the intercultural evening. Be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

The SEEDS programme combines learning, sharing, hands-on activities, getting to know Iceland, its culture, having fun, exploring the city, its attractions and the stunning nature, which you can experience in possible excursions. Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact.SEEDS will organise a night photography and aurora hunting workshop in the city or in the vicinity of ReykjavEk. Northern lights are a natural phenomenon depending on solar activity and meteorological conditions, so we cannot guarantee you will see northern lights, but the night photography workshop will be organised anyway.Some excursions (e.g. to the Golden Circle, Hot River hike and/or South Shore) can be arranged at discount fares if there is free time after the camp workshops/sessions. It may be very cold and/or rainy, so we recommend bringing warm and waterproof clothes (underlayers, overcoats, scarves, gloves and hats) and good walking shs, as some of the activities take place outdoors.

This project is actively working for SDG 4 (Quality Education) , organized together with MINO COOLJAPAN, since 2025 in Mino city, Gifu prefecture. At this workcamp, volunteers will support for the children's camp, which is held on 10/4-10/5. About 20 children from 8 to 15 years old would be participated. Children in Mino City do not have many opportunities to interact with people from other countries. This camp will be a valuable opportunity for children to understand the diversity of the world, grow together, and cooperate. By communicating with volunteers from different cultures and languages, we expect the children to improve their communication skills, including non-verbal, in order to communicate effectively while respecting the other's culture and background. By building a Bamboo House together will be also great opportunity to develop the ability to cooperate with each other across national and cultural boundaries for kids! We also hope that by experiencing local traditional culture together with children, children will gain confidence in local culture.

I campi di volontariato si svolgono nella spiaggia dell’Isola dei Conigli, zona A di Riserva Naturale e sito di deposizione della tartaruga marina Caretta caretta. I campi hanno una duplice finalità: contribuire alla tutela della spiaggia, intensamente frequentata a fini balneari, in modo da garantire le condizioni ambientali idonee all’ovodeposizione di Caretta caretta, controllando l’impatto antropico sul sito; sorvegliare e proteggere i nidi di Caretta caretta, dalla deposizione alla schiusa. Questi campi sono una grande occasione per quanti, appassionati della natura, vogliono prendersene cura svolgendo attività utili ed entusiasmanti, in uno dei luoghi più belli di Lampedusa e del Mediterraneo, meritevole di essere salvaguardato per la sua bellezza e per la sua grande importanza naturalistica.

Il campo prevede lo svolgimento di turni giornalieri di 6 ore circa e, all’occorrenza, turni notturni di 8–10 ore. I turni giornalieri sono finalizzati al controllo della balneazione, mediante sorveglianza ed attività di informazione e sensibilizzazione dei bagnanti, in modo da far rispettare i regolamenti vigenti nella riserva. Dalle 8 alle 20.00 i volontari si alterneranno per coprire due postazioni fisse: una all'ingresso della Riserva e una sulla spiaggia. All'ingresso, i volontari forniranno informazioni ai visitatori e forniranno supporto agli operatori nelle attività di controllo degli accessi alla spiaggia. In spiaggia, i volontari sorveglieranno gli eventuali nidi deposti, saranno punto di riferimento per quanti vogliono conoscere la biologia riproduttiva di Caretta caretta e svolgeranno attività di sensibilizzazione nei confronti dei turisti (inviteranno al rispetto delle norme comportamentali da osservare, effettueranno la pulizia dell’arenile, ecc.). I volontari, inoltre, collaboreranno nelle attività di rilevamento dei dati sulla fruizione e saranno di sostegno agli operatori della riserva per il rilevamento dei dati sui nidi di tartaruga e sui piccoli. I turni notturni si svolgeranno presso la struttura ubicata all'ingresso della riserva e sono finalizzati ad impedire l’accesso in spiaggia di eventuali visitatori durante la notte, che potrebbero pregiudicare gli eventi di nidificazione della tartaruga. Durante le schiuse dei nidi i turni notturni si svolgeranno in spiaggia. I volontari parteciperanno anche alle attività di salvaguardia e sorveglianza (diurna e notturna) di eventuali nidi deposti in altre spiagge dell’isola che rientrano nelle competenze dell'Ente Gestore della Riserva. I volontari, a turno, si occuperanno anche della preparazione dei pasti e della pulizia dell’alloggio.

Molto più vicina all’Africa che alla Sicilia, Lampedusa appartiene all’Arcipelago delle Pelagie. Nel 1996 la Regione Siciliana ha istituito la Riserva Naturale “Isola di Lampedusa”, gestita da Legambiente Sicilia. L’area protetta si estende per circa 360 ettari lungo un’ampia fascia incontaminata della costa meridionale dell’isola ed è finalizzata alla conservazione delle espressioni più significative della fauna e della flora presenti sul territorio. La spiaggia dei Conigli è stata per anni oggetto di ogni forma di abuso e degrado, ma grazie agli interventi di recupero ambientale, controllo e sensibilizzazione dell’Ente Gestore oggi è un modello di gestione e promozione di un turismo sostenibile, che ha saputo coniugare conservazione della natura con la fruizione del territorio.

Attività formative
All’inizio di ogni campo i volontari parteciperanno ad un incontro formativo presso la sede della Riserva (tenuto dal personale della Riserva), durante il quale verranno fornite le principali informazioni sull’area protetta (storia, caratteristiche, regolamento, ecc.), sulla biologia della tartaruga marina e sulle attività che si svolgeranno durante il campo.

I volontari saranno ospitati in un appartamento ubicato in centro.
Requisiti e materiali
Il campo è particolarmente impegnativo, poiché prevede una turnazione continua per garantire il controllo del sito h24. Buona attitudine a camminare; buone condizioni fisiche, capacità di svolgere le attività anche con particolari condizioni climatiche (essere in grado di trascorrere diverse ore sotto il sole, ma anche in presenza di vento, umidità, pioggia, zanzare…).

Il Circolo Legambiente Esther Ada nasce a Lampedusa nel 2011 ed è principalmente coinvolto nell'organizzazione delle campagne nazionali di Legambiente e nella realizzazione di progetti relativi a problematiche di carattere ambientale e sociale. Newstar Drama Group was founded in 1993 at Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) Nairobi and was registered in 1996 by the Ministry of Culture and Social services. • Nandi people are classified among the legendary Kalenjin speaking people that occupy the expansive Rift Valley province. Rift Valley province is characterized by humid, hot and dry weather conditions in the months of December, January, February and March and cold and wet in the months of April, May, June and July. But in August, September, October and November the climate is warm and cool which is a very comforting climate. It is one of the 42 recognized ethnic communities in Kenya known for their hospitality. Nandi’s are farmers in nature practicing mixed farming, keeping animals and growing of food crops. Nandi district host the Nandi forest; Nandi Rock which is the single largest rock in East Africa. The total area of Nandi district in which 40% of the total land is a forest.
• Majority of the populace live on the hills, which offers cool and conducive environment for agriculture. Kamagap Primary School is located on the high lands where climatic conditions are favorable for meaningful agricultural activities and community members are very hard working.
• Kamagap Primary School is located in Kamagap, Kibwareng Sub-Location in Aldai Division, Nandi South district, Rift Valley Province in the Republic of Kenya; some parts of Rift Valley are sometimes referred to as semi-arid zone.

You will have the opportunity to be introduced to the concept of permaculture and agroforestry. You will work on preparing the gardens for the upcoming winter period by weeding, working on the soil protection, seeding and planting. In addition, creative work will be done to build a compost bin next to the gardens. The Ecocycle association is a third place which develops a participatory animation project on the territory of the municipality of Saint Amand de Coly and its surroundings. These activities are strongly influenced by concerns related to climate change. In this context you will participate in the design and preparation of a shared garden.

The bison enclosure in Springe is one of the most popular excursion destinations in the Hanover region. The central task of the wildlife park is to ensure the continued existence of endangered animal species, such as the European bison, through breeding programmes. The falconers present the birds of prey of Europe in flight demonstrations with exciting and child-friendly explanations and describe the habits of eagles, falcons and owls. The forest education centre offers sustainable educational programmes for school classes of all ages. The offer ranges from workshops, animal observations, learning stations, exploratory tours, activity days and project weeks to holiday pass activities and children's birthday parties.
Your group will support the staff at the education centre with various nature conservation tasks on the site. The main task is to remove fast-growing plants such as ivy and brambles that overgrow everything. This creates light and space for more plant diversity. You will help to replace a prickly and poisonous barberry hedge with a hornbeam hedge and remove ivy and brambles from a very old wall that surrounds the park and is a cultural monument. Climate change can already be clearly felt in the bison enclosure. To prevent the ground from drying out too much, ?wood islands? are created from dead branches under the large trees. The wildlife park team will also help you with this task.
Your accommodation in Bredenbeck is approx. 15 km from the bison enclosure. You can reach your place of work by bus.
