The Holi festival celebrates the onset of spring and renewal. Coming forth with the full flush of life, the invigorating air of Holi festivities spreads into the lives of people throughout the year. With an initial orientation on festivals, you will get chance to participate in our ongoing humanitarian projects addressing ground realities and needs of communities. We will be visiting communities and schools to create awareness, share experiences on culture and festivals, learning from community actions and be involved in ongoing projects. The major festival will be attended to on 8th march when you will play with colours.

The project site is Ruchi campus and the nearby Bandh village (1 km) in Solan district. It is 30 km from Kalka and 70 km from Chandigarh. The village is small with 35 families. Self organized city tours and excursions. Old Sikh and Hindu temples in the near vicinity can be visited. Nearby Kasauli town is another hill station as a tourist attraction. A visit to Shimla will offer an opportunity to see high Himalayan Mountains.

Volunteers will live under simple conditions and share accommodation with other volunteers. English WC will be available. Vegetarian food will be served. Sleeping bags are not required.

The project aims to foster cultural exchange through engaging workshops on Japanese culture with a group of young Japanese participants. These workshops will be held in schools, residential facilities and eledery houses, and various community spaces, providing an opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in the rich heritage and traditions of Japan.
The initiative seeks to bridge cultural divides and promote mutual understanding by showcasing aspects of Japanese culture such as traditional arts, cuisine and language. Through
interactive sessions, participants will have the chance to learn even basic phrases in Japanese.
The workshops will not only serve as educational experiences but also as platforms for dialogue and cross-cultural interaction. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions, share their own cultural perspectives, and engage in meaningful exchanges with the Japanese group. Moreover, the project will emphasize inclusivity and accessibility by targeting diverse audiences, including students of all ages, residents of care homes, and members of community organizations. The initiative aims to promote cultural appreciation and tolerance among people from different backgrounds.
Overall, the project objetive is to foster lasting connections and promote global citizenship by celebrating the diversity of human culture while highlighting the common threads that unite us all. Through the shared experience of learning about Japanese culture, participants will gain valuable insights into the importance of cultural diversity and the beauty of cross-cultural exchange.
Last but not least, the Japaneese group will be given the opportunity to participate in tasks for the recovery from the disastrous effects of the DANA in Valencia, to rebuild the apiary that De Amicitia has in the area or any other activity useful for the development of the municipality that is proposed by the local Civil Society.

Alfas del Pi is a small residential town in the southwest of Spain close to Benidorm (comunidad de Valencia) with a great international community and close to important touristic places. There are a lot of schools, eldery houses and other social centres. Its an urban site sourrounded by beautiful Mediterranean countryside and hills which are great for hiking. The sea is 4 km away from the town
The house is located close to the Town Hall which supportes the project , so there are great opportunities to interact and socialize with the locals and to truly experience the Spanish society, specially with kids and senior people.

Aim of the project: With the mission of sustainable living and community development. Volunteers will play a vital role in preserving the village’s natural environment, promoting eco-friendly practices, and supporting local initiatives. By participating in various tasks, such as organic farming, education, and community outreach, volunteers will contribute to creating a more sustainable and self-sufficient village. Their involvement will not only benefit the local community but also provide them with a unique opportunity to learn about different cultures, gain valuable skills, and experience the beauty of sustainable living
Volunteers will teach English to children from 3 to 17 years old (about 15 students per class) and adults, focusing on communication. Besides, the volunteers will support the local villagers in their daily tasks, such as in the kitchen, reception, restaurant, farms, and other manual work, to maintain the beauty and preserve the culture of the village.

Vegetarian options will be available. The volunteers will share meals with all the villagers (three meals per day). They will sleep in a dorm room. There are washing machines and hot water for the shower.

Every year, VPV cooperates with V.GO (Vietnam Global Outreach organize different international workcamp as well as send International volunteers to support sustainable living, promote eco-tourism and preserve ethnic cultures of Vietnam in Thai Hai Village.
Thai Hai Village - one of 32 ‘Best Tourism Villages 2022’ by UN Tourism.
Thai Hai Village is the result of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hai's dedication to preserve traditional cultural values of Tay ethnic group in Vietnam and contribute to building a just and humane society and sustainable development.
More than 30 original stilt houses, at least half a century old was rebuilt and restored in a natural area surrounded by hills and trees in Thai Hai Village. Not only the house's structure but also the ethos of Tay culture, the soul and vitality of the traditional values were preserved and passed on from generation to generation.
Day after day, the villagers cultivate and raise livestock, grow fruits and green tea to accommodate for their daily life, and to serve tourists who come to the village. Together, they form a community that “Eat Together, Share Together”, preserves and promotes their traditional cultural values. After a working day, they gather around the fireplace of the house and sing Then songs (Tay’s traditional singing) with “dan tinh” (traditional musical instrument), with flute and traditional “nang then” dance, together creating a very peaceful and cosy atmosphere

WorkThe voluntary working program is diverse. It includes building wooden fence, cleaning hiking, cross-country skiing and snowboarding trails from brushwood, repainting hiking route signs, making firewood (cut woods, pile firewood in ricks), preparing material for rug weaving, cleaning sheep wool for crafts and possibly making woolen carpets.There might be also some light maintaining work in the houses. Depending on weather conditions work will be indoors or outdoors. The work will be around 4-6 hours a day, the rest of the time will be spend to get acquainted with the area, its natural and historical sites as well as with local people. Local people will join the camp for work and leisure. Type of work and its schedule may change due on weather conditions and actual needs of the hosting project. The charm of Haanja Uplands in South Estonia lies in its lovely hilly landscape, winding roads and numerous lakes. Most of its ancient villages, peculiar dialect, handicrafts and customs have been preserved until today. The whole area, called Vorumaa, is an area of outstanding beauty. It is famous for its diverse and very well preserved nature. Untouched forests with rich wildlife, deep valleys and picturesque hills, 170 small lakes with extremely clean water, streams and fast rivers with sand caves in their steep banks - you can find everything there. With the support of the state and local authorities the eco- and farm sustainable tourism has been developed in this area. Besides promoting the environmental tourism, this initiative supports rural development which is very important issue for Estonia. Association of Farm Tourism launched several projects and Kiidi Farm, where the camp takes place, is one of them. The volunteers will be spilt into 3 farms (without change in the whole period) and mainly help to harvest the flowers and other farm work such as selection and rapping of flowers. Farm work will be 6 days a week usually around 08:00-18:00 (sometimes, even longer) with lunch break in 12:00-13:30. There will be some pocket money to be used for meals (besides the lunch on the working days) and a part of the travel cost to the island.

Okino erabu island. It originally belonged to Ryukyu kingdom of Okinawa islands which deeply effects the culture. It had been once occupied by the USA after the World War II, but returned back to Japan in 1953. Birth rate is one of the highest in Japan since people help each other like a big family:) Other activities - Excursion on the island (limestone cave, etc.) on the free days, welcome/ farewell parties, swimming in the beach, sea turtle (or if lucky, also whale!) watching, etc.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with a group of farmers since 1995. The project has been held mostly in March and this is the 3rd time to be held in the summer since 2019. The project started by the links with the President of NICE who had a farm stay here in his student days. The island has rich, beautiful sub tropical nature with corral leaf on the beach without being polluted by the tourism. As the location is isolated and very far from the cities, they can hardly get the paid workers to help their farm work, so vols. help it to protect their industry and life! Thus, the volunteers can learn a lot from the natural and local life, by that many of them become a big fan of the island!
*Outcome of this workcamp: Workcamps have greatly contributed to the farmers (not to waste the flowers due to lack of working power) in 2023 by 3 workcamps with 10 vols.!

During this camp, participants can share their love for (and learn more about) global and local environmental issues, as well as photography. If you are interested in topics such as climate change, waste management, animal protection and sustainability, and you also love taking photographs, making videos or want to develop your photography skills, then this project is for youWhile developing artistic and technical photography skills, you will be focusing on environmental and sustainability issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits facilitated by SEEDS. One of our aims is to help create more environmentally aware consumers and travellersYou will visit local projects on environment and conservation. These may include hands-on activities or guided visits. Some examples include outdoor cleanup tasks, a geothermal power plant, a local fauna and/or flora exhibition or an outdoor Icelandic culture museum. Some of these activities are dependent on conditions such as weather, as well as availability or restrictions of our partner organisations.You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice, walking around and exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.

Reykjavik is a dynamic, modern city which lives in harmony with nature, using renewable energy sources. The world s northernmost capital bridges the Atlantic, between Europe and North America. Reykjavik is spread across a peninsula with a panoramic view of the mountains and the Atlantic. It is an international city with a lively cosmopolitan cultural scene surrounded by beautiful nature.Some excursions (e.g. to the Golden Circle, Hot River hike and/or South Shore) can be arranged at discount fares if there is free time after the camp workshops/sessions. In this project SEEDS will organise a night photography (Northern Lights) workshop in the city or in the vicinity of Reykjavik. This will take place during late evening and possibly into the night. Northern lights are a natural phenomenon depending on solar activity and meteorological conditions; we cannot guarantee you will see northern lights, but the night photography workshop will be organised anyway.

SEEDS participants will stay in a house in Reykjavik. The facilities are basic with a kitchen, showers, and a washing machine. Everyone is expected to show consideration for their companions. Participants will sleep in shared rooms or dormitories.Volunteers will receive food supplies and will be in charge of cooking and cleaning. Please note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music, games or movies from your country for the intercultural evening. Please be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

They run two drop-in centers in Chow Kit and one safe home for children who are in need of temporary guardianship. YCK operate in partnership with Ministry of Women and Child Welfare. YCK developed out of Nur Salam and was incorporated in 2011. The past workcamps since 2018 Sep. have been successful and in 2024, 48 vols. from Japan, Mexico and Italy joined 4 workcamps with creating great impact!

You want to learn how the knowledge about forests is taught to young people in Germany in a non-formal way? Then this is the perfect Workcamp for you! It is a special project for nature lovers and people interested in learning about nature protection work and how to pass on important knowledge about forests to future generations.
In the mornings you will work outside with the foresters and in the afternoons you will participate in different workshops about topics such as climate change, the forest ecosystem and economy or biodiversity conservation together with german students.
During your Workcamp, there will be a German school class (7th class, pupils around 13 years old) staying at the forest school, too. During some activities, you will be in contact with them. If you’re interested, you will have the possibility to co-organise workshops relating to forest education for your group and/or the school class.

The “Waldschulheim” is located in the small village of Indelhausen in the middle of a geopark (a single, unified geographical area where sites and landscapes of international geological significance are managed with a holistic concept of protection, education and sustainable development) and at the southern end of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve “Schwaebische Alb” in southern Germany. This area features diverse mountainous and cultural landscapes, protected ecosystems with rare plants and animals and notable forest, meadow and orchard habitats.
The surroundings are perfect for outdoors activities like hiking. It is very rural, and there are many great view-points and various old castle ruins that are worth visiting. Due to this, visiting bigger cities is quite complicated so the free time activities will be mainly done close-by, enjoying the beautiful surroundings

You will be accommodated in shared rooms (2 to 4 beds) directly in the forest school. There is a dining room, a common room where you can relax or play games, bathroom facilities with shared showers, as well as a gym hall, a volleyball court, table tennis tables and two climbing walls.
Meals will be provided by the school, so you don't have to cook by yourself. The forest school tries its best to serve local and organic food. There will be vegetarian and vegan options but we need to know about your needs in advance! Please inform us of any dietary restrictions and/or allergies you may have.
Lastly, there is little phone reception in the forest school. Wifi is provided but it is quite slow – you will be able to send messages but streaming videos will most likely not work.

This project is organised in cooperation with the Swabian Alb Biosphere Reserve (Biosphärengebiet Schwäbische Alb), which was awarded UNESCO biosphere reserve status in 2009 and the forest school in Indelhausen. The forest school “Waldschulheim Indelhausen” is a pedagogical institution founded in 1977. The building used to be the village school and now serves 1,000 students and teachers every year as a non-formal learning place on the topic of forest and nature. Groups of students of the grades 7 to 9 of all school types usually stay here for two weeks and participate in different tasks of simple forest work, an educational program about the forest and excursions as well as games, fun and sports.

Activities related to conservation of satoyama and agriculture using satoyama. Clearing undergrowth and tending thickets, transporting hodagaki woods for growing safe shiitake mushrooms in Fukushima, and maintaining walking trails. This project is actively working for SDGs 15 (Life on Land), organized together with "Akame no SATOYAMA wo Sodateru kai", a local environmental organization for conservation of SATOYAMA forest working in Nabari city, since 1999. Because this area is relatively close to the big cities between Osaka and Nagoya, there were plans to build a golf field and a disposal center. However, the local people stopped those plans by collecting donations and buying the land to keep beatutiful nature. SATOYAMA needs to be maintained by humans for its biodiversity and water adjustment function. Our ancestors had protected and utilized the forest in an ecological and sustainable way, which has been neglected by modernization at many places in Japan.
*Outcome of this workcamp: Over the last 20 years, 30 ha of SATOYAMA forest has been maintained by the previous volunteers. ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS
• The host community will provide a house to accommodate the volunteers with very basic living conditions.
• Volunteers have an obligation to climb down the level of the people with the aim of exposure to development challenges.
• KVDA will provide foodstuffs and volunteers will cook their own meals in turns. Water is available from springs and it is recommended that drinking water should be boiled or medicated. Mineral water available at supermarkets is also recommended.
• There is no electricity connection at the project but volunteers can charge their electric appliances at the nearest market center.
• Furthermore, we invite you to bring typical food, spices, drinks, games and music from your country (for an intercultural evening) – and a lot of motivation!

Project overview
St. James Community Orphans School is a community owned school whose idea was conceived to the challenges that the community has been with over the years. For a long time, parents have passed on leaving their children to be orphans who are either total or partial. Due to constant and continuous death and other related issues, the number of these orphans grew to an escalating rate which eventually led to call for intervention. It is this regard the school has taken good care of most of these orphans since school opened its doors on the 9th January 2012 hitherto
St. James Community School is located in Mfangano Island, Homabay County in Kenya. It’s one of the many islands in Lake Victoria with several beaches. Being an island with many fishing beaches, it’s prone to a unique lifestyle that contributes to high prevalence rate of HIV/AIDS which leads to many orphans
St. James School is addressing three major problems
1. Free education for these orphans
2. Poor nutrition
3. Alarming low levels of domestic income among caregivers households
In 2014, the school started with a population of 45 orphans represented in three kindergarten classes, with 3 teachers. To date the school is enjoying a population of 112 both total and partial orphans aged between 3 years to 12 years. The school has seven classes with 8 teachers.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAMMES: Since the school’s inception in 2012, the school has various volunteer activities. Among them being:
a) In 2012 (May-August), we received two volunteer teachers who helped the school in teaching `of physical ad vocation (P.E). The volunteers were from Italy.
b) (Jan-Feb) 2013, the school, got one volunteer (male) from Japan who helped in the school garden.
c) (May-June), we had 2 volunteers (a couple) from USA, Michigan who helped the teaching of health and sanitation lessons.
Security for our volunteers has always been our number one priority. Moreover, the school is situated barely 600m from the police post
We also have a Government of Kenya dispensary within the same area to carter for health emergency that might arise
The school is committed to offering hope to children and especially who are vulnerable to societal risks and this call for community of efforts.

This project is actively working for SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDGs 10 (Reduced Inequalities), organized together with Malaysian Organization of Volunteer Exchange (MOVE) since 2018 in this place. MOVE is a workcamp NGO founded in 2006. Yayasan Chow Kit (YCK) is a non-profit organization that caters to the needs of children in and around Chow Kit. They run two drop-in centers in Chow Kit and one safe home for children who are in need of temporary guardianship. YCK operate in partnership with Ministry of Women and Child Welfare. YCK developed out of Nur Salam and was incorporated in 2011. The past workcamps since 2018 Sep. have been successful and in 2024, 48 vols. from Japan, Mexico and Italy joined 4 workcamps with creating great impact!
