Volunteers will help in arranging extra activities for the senior citizens, such as art, craft, painting, gardening, storytelling, music and movement activities. They need to keep a good manner not to disturb the family life.

MOVE is a workcamp NGO founded in 2006. Bernice Home was found by a lady by the name of Bernice. She started this home for senior citizens who need quality home care services to seniors with limited mobility or dementia and hence social interaction. She started this home in 2000 and the second home in 2018. The founder belief “life shouldn’t end when you are old, it should be full of happy memories regardless of the age. The founder wants to keep the seniors active and engaged through physical, mental and social activities, all in the comfort of their home.The workcamp was revived in 2023 and in 2024, 8 volunteers from Japan and Hong Kong did great work!

XIV century fortress close to Belgrade waits for volunteers of 15th workcamp to find out the mysterious building in the Vojvodina plaines. The task will be conservation of structure that will be done together with the archeologists and some students maybe. There will, also, be some digging and some cleaning of the artefacts (metals and bones) that will be found.
The specificity of this year is work on repairing parts of walls that will take place for the first time in many years.
On some days, participants might take out the invasive plants and collect the trash in surrounding area, that endanger the fortress.
In the middle of the camp, popular local festival "Kupinik-Days of Dragons" with medieval topics will be held on the fortress. Volunteers will help in the organization, but will also have opportunity to participate in various activities (workshops and games, gaining new valuable skills).

Kupinovo is a village located in the municipality of Pećinci, Serbia. As of 2011 census, the village has 1,866 inhabitants. It is near the famous biodiversity area, the Obedska bara (Obedska pond or bog). Kupinovo is a place rich in cultural and historical sights. The most interesting are: Kupinik Fortress, a medieval fortification from the 14th century, the Church of Saint Luke from the half of the 15th century (the oldest Serbian church in the area), the Church of Mother Angelina from the 16th century and the ethno-complex with objects of folk architecture.
The end of village is the beginning of a huge forest, so pleasant walks can be taken daily. Also, the important river Sava is very near, so going to its banks, can also be one relaxing leisure activity. Swimming is possible, although the beach is not big and decorated.
Since the village is not full of activities and local youth is not numerous, days can be really long there (which suits to some people that seek a quiet place to have rest of fast civilization, but is terrible to the others who want constant dynamic constellation), so be aware of it. Depending on the group preferences, different activities can be organized. At least one visit to Belgrade (capital of Serbia and jewel of world culture) will take place (there are many buses during the day).
In surroundings there are few museums and aqua-parks, but the transport is not great, so some creativity and flexibility in planning is always welcome!
In every case, the project can be wonderful, but also boring, it is up to the group, so we recommend you only to bring patience and smile, because with them you will have unforgettable adventure in remote Serbian village with friendly locals!

The volunteers will either stay in two renovated ethno-houses in Ethno Park in Kupinovo, either in the house where previous village offices were (the precise information will be in the Infosheet). In every case, it will be on beds inside.
The food will be prepared for the volunteers by local housewives, with the accent on national cuisine (a lot of meat prepared in creative ways, but vegetarian meals will be possible, of course).
Requisiti e materiali
There are no specific requirements, but if you want to enjoy more, bring the sunscreen and the mosquito repellent, it can really be helpful.

Association "Zeleni pogled" (Green look) from Kupinovo was registered on June 2, 2015. Young Researchers of Serbia (YRS) was founded in 1976. Our main aims are environmental protection and education, promotion of sustainable development, work with young people in an international context, promotion of scientific creativity and voluntarism and its values. Voluntary Service of Serbia is a volunteer exchange service center founded in 1990 as one of the sectors of YRS.

Active for climate protection and biodiversity – save the peatlands in the Hunsrück area.
You will actively contribute to protecting some special peatlands, which are situated on the slopes of the lower mountain range called “Hunsrück”. These areas were drained more than 100 years ago for forestry use but they are a valuable and natural Co2 storage. Therefore the revitalisation of these peatlands was started, Under the supervision of a Park Ranger you will improve the water balance in the moor areas in order to renature the moors, and also to help the moors to arrange better with the consequences of climate change . The measures will include closing some ditches as well as other small interventions to control the water flow. The work is expected to take place in two different Hunsrück peatland areas: A peatland forest area near the tiny village of Hochscheid and an area of open moorland near Morbach. As this one moor has been opened up for tourism, one task might be the closure of a ditch under a footbridge used along a hiking trail. This will make the revitalised moor more visible for hikers and offers the opportunity for environmental education activities. During the work and on some excursions, the park ranger will introduce you to many aspects of the ecological background.
Attention: The work might be physically hard and you will get wet and muddy for sure! Please bring hiking boots, rubber boots and working clothes.

The workcamp will take places in the western part of Rhineland-Palatinate. You will stay in Deuselbach, a small village with 260 inhabitants. The local villagers are very much interested to welcome you, many parties and events will happen. Deuselbach has a pub but no shops. The next bigger village (Thalfang) is 5km far, here you can find everything you need (shops, swimming pool…). There are also many tourists in the area as it is well known for hiking all over the year and for skiing in winter. The next bigger city it Trier (40 km), the oldest Germany city with many Roman sights, a huge cathedral and plenty of this to do (vineyard, shopping, clubs…). You will do several excursions with the support of the Park Rangers, e.g. to Trier, the oldest German city with many famous sights.

You will stay in the community centre of Deuselbach. The accommodation is spacious, has a huge kitchen including a dish-washer and a living room, toilets and showers. There is one big sleeping room with camping beds. Wifi and even a washing machine are available. Please bring your sleeping bag.
Your group of volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking together. The food will be bought with the camp budget and everybody will take turns for cooking, washing the dishes and cleaning. In order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage volunteers to reduce meat and try more sustainable dishes.

Il campo si svolge nello splendido scenario dell’Area Marina Protetta Penisola del Sinis – Isola di Mal di Ventre, istituita nel 1997 a tutela di questo territorio costiero delicato quanto prezioso. Il comune di Cabras, gestore dell’Area Marina Protetta, da anni è impegnato in un importante percorso di conservazione della biodiversità e della tutela del mare, dedicando risorse allo sviluppo di un turismo sostenibile e responsabile, puntando quindi sull’uso rispettoso del mare e del territorio da una parte, e sulla valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale e archeologico dall’altra. I campi di volontariato che Legambiente realizza quest’estate, in collaborazione con l’AMP e il comune, si inseriscono in questo contesto; gli obiettivi sono di sensibilizzare gli abitanti e i turisti a una fruizione corretta dell'ambiente marino e costiero e di migliorare l’offerta di turismo sostenibile sull’isola, attraverso la sorveglianza dell’area protetta, il monitoraggio e la pulizia dai rifiuti.

II volontari garantiranno un presidio costante dell’AMP e svolgeranno le seguenti attività: informazione e sensibilizzazione dei turisti sulla corretta fruizione della spiaggia, con particolare attenzione alla tutela delle spiagge con granuli di quarzo, pulizia delle coste dalla presenza di eventuali rifiuti spiaggiati, monitoraggio e catalogazione dei rifiuti spiaggiati provenienti dal mare, raccolti secondo la normativa europea del Beach Litter e Park Litter nel caso di pulizie delle dune e zone retrodunali.

A ovest di Cabras, la penisola del Sinis, si protende nel mare con una costa bassa e rocciosa, estendendosi nell’entroterra con un altopiano brullo e una bassa macchia mediterranea odorosa di rosmarino e di ginepro. Alla scogliera si alternano anche spiagge memorabili: a nord di capo Mannu le dune e le sabbie di Is Arenas sono coperte da una storica pineta, mentre a sud la costa si articola in cale di sabbia, promontori rocciosi e stagni. A sud delle suggestive scogliere di Su Tingiosu si trovano alcuni gioielli naturalistici, le spiagge di granuli quarzosi (del tutto simili a chicchi di riso) di Mari Ermi e Is Arutas. Alle spalle delle spiagge, di grande interesse naturalistico lo stagno di Cabras, e la laguna di Mistras, mentre di grandissima suggestione sono le rovine della città, prima nuragica poi fenicia e infine romana, di Tharros, situata proprio in riva al mare.

Attività formative
I volontari saranno coinvolti in attività di formazione tenute dai responsabili di Legambiente e dal personale dell’AMP sulle caratteristiche naturalistiche e storico-culturali del territorio, sull'avifauna e fauna selvatica del territorio e sulle attività di lavoro. Sono previsti focus sulla raccolta differenziata. Verranno organizzate anche delle passeggiate ed escursioni nell'entroterra del parco con relative informazioni sulla flora dell'area. Verrà inoltre organizzata una vista al CRES, il Centro Recupero Tartarughe della zona.

Ostello di Funtana Meiga - casa del Parco. A circa 30 min a piedi dalla borgata marina di San Giovanni di Sinis: l’ostello è dotato di camere con 4 posti letto ciascuna con un bagno comune con doccia ogni due camere. Sono presenti una cucina per la preparazione dei pasti e spazi esterni per il relax dei volontari.
Requisiti e materiali
Buona attitudine a camminare e andare in bicicletta. Disponibilità al confronto con turisti e fruitori delle spiagge. Buona sopportazione del caldo estivo che può raggiungere temperature alte soprattutto in alcuni periodi.

Tibet has maintained a unique culture, religion and language for centuries. After the Chinese invasion in 1950, the Dalai Lama, Tibet’s political and religious leader sought and was given asylum in India, along with thousands of Tibetan refugees. Today, there is a thriving settlement in Dharamshala, which is called Tibet-in-exile.
To learn about Tibetan culture and religion, there are many places of interest at Dharamshala. Tsuglagkhang, Mcleodganj the residence of the Dalai Lama is a must-visit, as are the Tibet Museum, Dalai Lama temple, Tibetan Parliament House, Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, War Memorial and Kangra Art Museum. The Tibetan Children’s Village, a charitable organisation, caters to children who are in the greatest need among the refugees. For the last 5 decades, it has run solely on the generosity of its well-wishers.
At Gyuto and Namgyal Monasteries, you can interact with the Tibetan monks and get valuable insights into the peace-loving Buddhist philosophy. If you are in the right place at the right time, you could even be fortunate enough to meet His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama himself. Palampur, the Tea Capital of North India is famous for its beautiful tea gardens, which are a natural scenic sight. Tea lovers can pick up some handcrafted, fresh mountain teas here. Some of the teas available are Black Teas, White Teas, Oolong Teas, Green Teas and Tisanes.

There will mainly focus on conserving the group of monuments of cultural heritage site at Hampi.
For the last 10 years, FSL India has been working with UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the management of local schools, local NGOs, INTACH and the local tour guide association. Concentrate on the protection of its cultural heritage, sites of historical importance and on creating awareness among the locals, school children, tour-guides and tourists, to infuse a sense of responsibility towards the protection of these priceless monuments. Here, you will help to convert dry areas into beautiful, restful spots by planting trees and flowering plants. Street plays to create awareness, creativity, physical work and archaeological delights are all hallmarks of this unique work camp

Some of the fun things to do at Hampi are taking a coracle ride in the nearby Tungabhadra river.
These round cane boats have been a mode of transport here from the 15th century. You can also
hire a bicycle and take the ride down to any of the interesting ruins, go bouldering or trekking.

The main task is harvesting various berries and vegetables such as rhubarb, currants, raspberries, Japanese quince, then helping juice making and products packaging. But there is also weed control and fertilization with mulch in plantations, mowing grass, cutting branches, removal of bushes and wood chipping, assistance in the construction of various small buildings, vegetable beds and other necessary structures on the site, painting as well. Farm life conditions are simple but decent. Sleeping is in a separate house in beds. Bed sheets, blankets and pillows are provided, so no need for sleeping bag. There is a dry organic toilet. Volunteers have to take care of their surroundings by cleaning up after themselves.

The aim of this project is to renovate the roof of the "Bateleur". This is the lean-to building adjoining the reception centre barn. Under the guidance of the local authority's technical staff, you'll be removing the existing lean-to and carrying out the necessary repairs to the roof structure, then laying the new tiles. No special skills are required, but the work site will be at height and access will be via scaffolding (installed by the municipal services prior to the work site).

Taraloka hopes to give the volunteers the opportunity to experience living as a community and practising co-operation in living and working together. Women in Taraloka live and work as a specifically Buddhist community and are willing to share what it can look and feel like when living and working from ones deepest values.
They will offer the opportunity to learn new practical skills, develop life skills and build confidence through both. They will learn two fantastic meditation practices (which do not make anyone a Buddhist) but which can positively change your life. There will be the opportunity to learn more about Buddhism including ethics, ritual, study, question and answer and personal talks. Again, by attending any of this you are not making yourself Buddhist!
The work areas on the project will possibly involve maintenance, decorating and cleaning as well as learning to cook tasty and nutritious vegan meals for the group. In addition to these projects there may be some gardening and landscaping work. This is a work retreat and we are looking for physically fit and healthy women. We hope that the volunteers will have fun working together on these projects as well as meditating together, learning about Buddhism and living as a community.
We are offering this opportunity for our volunteers to experience a retreat environment as well as to give their time and energy. We suggest not using your mobile phones and other communication devices during this time. It can be really peaceful and liberating to disconnect from the digital world for a period. Friends and family will be able to contact you on our designated emergency number, should this be necessary during your stay.
We are having substantial building work in 2025 so therefore retreat conditions won’t be entirely as we would like as there will be some noise.

Started in 1985, Taraloka is a Women’s Buddhist Community and Retreat Centre of the Triratna Buddhist Community set on the Welsh-Shropshire border. It was a run-down farm that has been gradually renovated, rebuilt and adapted over the years with the help of many different women with many different skills. The importance of providing a context for women in which the practice of meditation and Buddhism could be developed and deepened was a strong motivating factor for everyone who set up this centre. The name Taraloka means realm of Tara. Tara is an archetypal female figure representing the Enlightened qualities of Compassionate Action.
Today, the aim of Taraloka is the same. Women go there and explore what meditation can bring into their life; learn something about the relevance of Buddhist teaching to contemporary life; and experience themselves in a different setting to usual.

The nearest bigger place is Krakow am See. The place is remote, but the surrounding nature is beautiful. Be prepared to spend two weeks in nature without shopping opportunities.
Leisure Time:
The nature reserve can be explored on foot, by bike or by boat. In the area there are many beautiful lakes where you can swim. There is a possibility to participate in guided tours through the forest or learn about the endangered animals of the region. Also a trip to a bigger city or to the Baltic Sea can be planned. The activities are discussed in the group and will be decided together.

Alliksaare Farm s main direction is horse breeding. At the moment there are around 150 horses on the farm. The work can be diverse: it is to take care and maintain the pastures located by the sea - clearing around the pastures, building or removing fences, repairing fences, cleaning the stable. Another work is cleaning the coast nearby the farm from rubbish brought by storms. There can be some work for preparing food for horses for a winter time. However the major and the most important one is work with horses directly - taking care and training them. There are horses of any age but mostly young ones, so depending on your experience and willingness to learn more, it is possible to practice taking care of and training young horses. For example socializing and training foals, halter train yearlings and saddle and/or carriage train young horses. The work will be mainly outdoors. Working time is 6-7 hours a day. Work will be done under some supervision and guidance of the local host but mostly independently.

Hiiumaa, according to the Nordic sagas, emerged from the Baltic Sea as a small islet more than 10 000 years ago. The island of Hiiumaa was first mentioned in historical documents as a deserted island called Dageida in 1228. The first inhabitants settled down at the end of the 13th century. Nowadays, Hiiumaa is the second biggest island of Estonia with an area of 965 sq. km and a population of around 9 000. It has many historical and nature sights, and there are kind people known for their hospitality and good sense of humor. The island is referred to as a remote area of Europe, and EstYES feels particularly proud developing international voluntary projects for over twenty years there. EstYES has been cooperating with eco-farms all over Estonia for solidarity and practical support to local people who work in the agricultural sector keeping traditional lifestyle and developing new eco-farming despite all difficulties. Alliksaare Farm on Hiiumaa Island is one of such projects. This project is actively working on SDG2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG4 (Quality Education), and has been working with Ozuchi Village since 2013. Ozuchi Village was established by local people to preserve the original landscape. In 1916, there were 140 residents and 20 houses, but now only one person lives there. Fortunately, 10 houses remain and the village is designated as a national important traditional buildings preservation district. The village retains the landscape and lifestyle of old Japan that is no longer in existence. In order to preserve this place and culture, we are trying to improve the situation with the power of young volunteers. Since 2016, Ozuchi Village and NICE have started a monthly weekend work camp, and more than 300 volunteers visit the village every year, fall in love with the village, and participate as repeat visitors or support the village in whatever way they can! The local hosts hope to pass this village on to the next generation!*Results of this work camp: The village was abandoned, but one of the former villagers maintained the rice terraces and landscape. However, the work camp gave him such strength that he started living there again in 2018!

This year, you will be working on the continuation of maintenance work on the casemates (fortified shelters) at Fort Vauban. Accompanied by a specialist technical supervisor, you will initially be responsible for removing vegetation from the structure, then disjointing and repointing with lime mortar. Next, you will take part in transforming the museum's former storeroom into an educational room. You'll learn how to fit plasterboard panels and finish painting.
You'll learn a range of techniques, including traditional masonry, plastering and painting.
You will be working mornings of 5 to 6 hours. Come with work clothes or clothes that may be damaged or dirty. We will provide you with safety equipment. No qualifications are required for this project.

You will sleep in a 2-person tent at the Fouras municipal *** campsite (swimming pool, multi-sports area, WIFI, etc.). You must bring a warm duvet and a pillow, and we will provide inflatable mattresses. Bicycles are available for use around town. Food will be provided for all meals, with a budget managed collectively by the group and the leaders. Meals, especially lunch and dinner, will be prepared by participants on a rotating basis, ensuring respect for environmental values, local resources, and everyone's cultural preferences. Both hot and cold dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan options, will be included.

Everyday three meals cooked and served to the homeless community in the centre. The volunteer expected to help the main volunteers to cook and clean the centre. There will be some community activity will be conducted at evening such as supply stringe to the hard core drug abusers to avoid the sharing (control spread of HIV), mass community feeding, sorting things for free market and some related programmes.

Volunteers will stay in the school. Meal will be provided. Sleeping bag is necessary (mat is also recommended since the floor is hard). Water is very valuable, so the volunteers should be aware of not wasting it when washing the clothes and taking a bath.

This project is actively working for SDGs 10 (Reduced Inequalities), newly organized together with Malaysian Organization of Volunteer Exchange (MOVE) in this place. MOVE is a workcamp NGO founded in 2006. This project was established by single lady by the name Nor Akmar Kaseh also known as kak Akmar. She was went through some tough time as a homeless before. She used feel hunger and leading an unhealthy life. Somehow her life changed and she decided to help the homeless community and transform their life. From providing one meal for homeless now she established to a community centre to help this poor community.

From Tokyo (Narita/Haneda), 5 hours by express train/ 8 hours by night bus (you need to arrive by afternoon of the day before the first day). On last day, you can leave campsite around noon.

This project is actively working for SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with "Kamimamakuchi village" since 2013, and they tried starting new project with volunteer. Depopulation (especially of youth) is a serious problem here similarly in many other country sides. This village have only 20 families and very few young people. It is difficult to keep traditional culture and community work, so we aim to help keeping this landscape/cultures and telling local village’s attraction by young power!
*Outcome of this workcamp: Volunteer had painted fence about 1km! And organizing candle night festival, cultural party! Local people really welcome to coming the new people!
