The volunteering tasks focus on ecosystem restoration and include a variety of activities: pruning young trees and managing pine and other native species to accelerate their growth; creating and maintaining access paths for volunteers and visitors; restoring riparian vegetation; building water runoff barriers with local materials to improve soil and water infiltration; and controlling invasive plants like Acacia dealbata, which degrades local ecosystems. Control methods involve pulling small trees and ring barking larger ones. Volunteers will also help with camera trapping, setting up and retrieving cameras to capture wildlife photos and videos, with results shared afterward via email. Additionally, participants will identify and record fauna and flora using the iNaturalist app.

The location of the Workcamp is in a remote rural area. Volunteers will camp in Bioparque de Carvalhais (https://bioparque.org). The closest village is 2 km from the camp. MONTIS will have a van available to support the needed transportation. The intervention area distances from the campsite are about 20 minutes walking

Volunteers will be camping. There is a central facility with showers, and WC for women and man, with all basic hygiene facilities. There is another central facility for socializing, with board and card games, and a small bar/shop. The camping site has internet available, as well as outdoor barbecue and eating tables. There is no kitchen or laundry.MONTIS will provide regular meals, with the possibility of vegetarian by request. These include breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. Lunch will be served on the field as a packed lunch.

Les artistes y présenteront leur danse et leur musique sous forme d'ateliers, de concerts, de cabaret, et de défilés.
En coopération avec d'autres bénévoles, tu découvriras l'envers du décor d'un festival et tu participeras activement à son succès ! Avant le festival, tu prendras part à la création des décoration, à l'installation et au montage du festival. Pendant le festival, les missions seront diverses : accueil du public, hébergement des artistes, buvettes, stand de crêpes, ateliers de création, aide aux repas des bénévoles. Après le festival, tu participeras au démontage des équipements. L'atmosphère est toujours chaleureuse et cela sera l'occasion de faire de belles rencontres ! Tu pourras aussi profiter de ton temps libre pour explorer la ville de Gannat, ses paysages naturels, et ses alentours.
Come volunteer with others to share the cultures of the world with as many people as possible! The festival is a unique place to meet hundreds of folkloric dancers and singers from around the world. This year, the festival will take place from July 22 to 27, 2025. The artists will present their dance and music through workshops, concerts, cabarets, and parades.
Working with other volunteers, you'll discover the behind-the-scenes of a festival and actively contribute to its success! Before the festival, you'll help with creating decorations and setting up the event. During the festival, the tasks will vary: welcoming the public, accommodating the artists, managing the bars, running a crepe stand, and leading creative workshops. Les bénévoles seront logé·e·s sous tentes, sur une partie verdoyante du stade municipal qui leur sera dédié. Les bénévoles auront chacun leur tente et ils auront à disposition un bâtiment avec toutes les commodités. Des espaces en extérieur seront disponibles pour se reposer, échanger et prendre des repas en commun.
Au-delà des temps de chantier, les bénévoles participent ensemble à l’organisation de la vie collective. Souvent réparti·e·s en équipes, ils·elles élaborent les menus, participent aux courses, préparent les repas et s’assurent de la propreté des espaces communs.
Véritable acteur·ice de ton expérience, tu participeras aussi à la prise de décisions concernant les activités collectives et l’organisation du quotidien !
Volunteers will be accommodated in tents, on a dedicated green area of the municipal stadium. Each volunteer will have their own tent, and they will have access to a building with all amenities. Outdoor spaces will be available for resting, socialising, and shared meals.
Beyond the working hours, volunteers come together to organise daily life on the camp. Often divided into teams, they plan menus, help with the shopping, prepare meals, and ensure the cleanliness of shared spaces.
Fully involved in shaping your experience, you will also take part in decision-making regarding group activities and daily organization!

Most of the time volunteers will work at the Jewish cemetery and in the Shakhs synagogue where you will help with the maintenance of outdoor areas (cleaning pavements, weeding, cutting and raking grass, maintaining graveyards, etc.) You will also help with the preparation of the Jewish Culture Festival which takes place in Holesov during the workcamp (moving and installing various equipment for events etc.). The work can sometimes be moderately physically demanding. Please, bring suitable shoes and working clothes. You will also work on the weekend (because of the festival) but you will get enough time off on other days.

Location: The project takes place in Holesov (12,000 inhabitants), a historical town located in the south-east of the Czech Republic. It is well known for its important Jewish heritage such as a rare synagogue from the 16th century or Holesov cemetery - an important place of pilgrimage for Jews. There is good phone coverage everywhere around the town, ATMs and pharmacies.
Free time: During the free time volunteers can go on a trip to the UNESCO site of Kromeriz, visit the pilgrimage hill of Hostyn or the open-air museum of folk architecture in Rymice. You will also have free entry to all cultural activities organized by the Cultural Center.
Study part: You will learn a lot about Jewish culture and its heritage through visiting local monuments and experiencing the Jewish Culture Festival (concerts, performances, films etc.). You will also have a chance to meet the local community during a barbecue or at a traditional lunch with the representatives of the community town.

Volunteers will be accommodated in a house near the workplace, sleeping on matrasses all together in one room. Please, bring a sleeping bag. There are 2 toilets in the acommodation, showers are apart in the castle complex approximately 500 meters from the accommodation. WIFI is not available in the building - only at the synagogue and the castle. Volunteers will cook meals together as a group. If you need to use washing machines, it can be arranged.

The workcamp is organised in cooperation with Municipal Cultural Center Holesov, a non-profit organization that manages most of the Jewish monuments in the city and organizes the Festival of Jewish Culture. The workcamp takes place in Holesov, a small Moravian town, known for its large pre- second world war Jewish community. There is an important Jewish heritage in Holesov – an old synagogue and also a grave of one of the greatest Jewish scholars - Rabbi Shakh. The goal of this workcamp is to maintain the Jewish cemetery, help with the organization of the festival and learn about Jewish heritage. At this workcamp, you will actively contribute to the achievement of United Nation Sustainable Development Goal 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities.

Becin Castle is an early Ottoman Castle on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Volunteers will be helping the professional excavation team will take part in unearthing the history, and also will be helping the environmental arrangement and cleaning of the site, maintenance, basic repairing work, and landscaping.
Due to the hot weather in the summer months, excavations usually start at early morning and end between 2 pm and 3 pm. There maybe changes in working program hours. The exact program will be available till the summer season. Due to the hot weather, work starts early in the morning and ends in the afternoon. Precautions such as sun-proof awnings are in place.
You are not expected to be experienced in this archaeological study, where you can witness history up close.

Many activities await you in Mugla City, a city with full of touristic, historical and natural beauties. This region, full of ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman heritages that you can visit, is also 45 minutes away from the sea. You can enjoy your free time with the excavation team and volunteers in this region where you can enjoy the sea, sand and sun. Plus, we will have educational workshops for you!

Volunteers will stay in the lodging belonging to the excavation directorate. There is air conditioning in the rooms. There is a toilet, bathroom, kitchen and dining hall. This Work Camp is held during the Dana Cup, and there are therefore plenty of tasks that will ensure the event will run smoothly.
Work Camp participants must help with the establishment of an event area, catering for 20.000 football players as well as practical tasks such as painting accommodation cabins and maintaining outdoor areas.
During the two weeks of Work Camp, you will assist with general support and logistics before the tournament begins, maintenance of outdoor- and indoor areas, cleaning, kitchen assistance, event creations and reparation of dormitories in Dana Cup Town.
The work is expected to be arranged in two shifts from 08:00-21:00.

During your stay in Northern Jutland, you will have time to explore some unique nature and attractions in Denmark. You can, for example, arrange a day trip to Skagen, the most Northern tip of Denmark where two oceans meet. Skagen is famous for the special light which has attracted many painters, cosy yellow and red houses and much more. You can also visit the city of Hj?rring, or take a day trip to Aalborg.
One of the neighbouring towns called Hirtshals has the biggest Aquarium in Northern Europe. And in another neighbouring town is the biggest summer amusement park in Denmark.
Your Work Camp leaders will help you and the group with organising activities in your spare time. It is free to enjoy the beautiful nature of Northern Jutland, but some activities might require an extra charge. The host will not cover additional charges.

Sleeping + bathroom facilities:
Participants are sleeping in tents, and we will provide the linens, duvet etc. Participants are of course welcome to bring their sleeping bags or similar if needed or wished upon. There are both baths and toilets available. Laundry facilities are available for free.
Meals + kitchen facilities:
The host will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the volunteers will be eating with other volunteers and event participants. Vegetarian and vegan food will be provided.

English will be the only language spoken. All participants must be willing to speak English, even though they are from the same country or have trouble with the English language. Try your best!
Unfortunately, the job involves some physical work and therefore we cannot offer any work to volunteers with disabilities. Participants must be willing to do manual work, work that is for the most part outdoors.

A non-profit organisation runs the Dana Cup, and the event is one of the world's largest international youth soccer tournaments.
Every year, in the last week of July, the soccer tournament brings together around 20.000 young people between 12-19 years old and their coaches. They come to Hj?rring in northern Denmark from 45 different nations, representing 1000 football teams.
Dana Cup Week brings a great party in Hj?rring and the atmosphere is amazing! It is the fifth Work Camp at this huge sports event, and it was a great experience in 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023. We are very excited for another camp in 2024.

You love nature and history ? Come help restore the historical stone quarries of Saint-Paul-Trois-Chateaux, a site full of hidden treasures !
Did you know that the stones from this small town in the Drome region were used to build monuments in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, and even New-York ? Today, this remarkable site still bears traces of this once-flourishing industry.
By joining this project, you will contribute to the preservation of the local heritage.
Your mission: restore access paths damaged by erosion and protect local wildlife. On steep, wooded, and rocky terrain, you will set up drainage channels to facilitate water flow and prevent further degradation, as well as build steps to make the area more accessible. This work is a continuation of the restoration work carried out over the past three years. It requires dedication but provides an immersive and enriching experience.
Whether you're a history buff, nature lover or simply looking for a meaningful human adventure, this is the project for you!
No prior skills are required - just motivation and the desire to contribute to a valuable initiative in the heart of the Drome Provencale.

In your free time, you will enjoy a diverse program to explore the area and engage with locals. You will sleep in individual tents (provided by Concordia) set up on a dedicated site near the municipal stadium. This location is just a few minutes from the town center. Access will be secured with keys provided to participants to control entry and exit. The stadium?s locker rooms will be separated, with single-sex sanitary and shower areas, ensuring comfort and privacy. A communal hall will be available for meals and will also serve as a shelter in case of extreme weather.
Tasks will be shared collectively, and meals will be prepared together. A budget will be allocated to the team leaders, and you will participate in grocery shopping, prioritizing healthy and locally sourced products and vegetarian meals. A laundromat is located a 7-minute walk from the accommodation, and its use will be at the participants? expense. There is no Wi-Fi on-site but you can hotspot with other volunteers.

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If there are health issues on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

This will be an opportunity for you to learn traditional masonry techniques, but also to meet unforgettable people, and to discover a little green paradise that runs along the Nantes-Brest canal.

Rohan is a small piece of Brittany close to the city of Pontivy, sub-prefecture of Morbihan. The municipality is crossed by the Nantes-Brest canal where you can take beautiful bike rides.

You will be accommodated in tents (provided by Concordia), at the Val d'Oust campsite which is a 5-minute walk from the site! Group life will be organized nearby in a room made available to the group. You will share the various group tasks and group activities. Together, you will participate in organizing group life (cleaning, activities, etc.) and in preparing meals, in turn, using products that you will purchase nearby. The facilitators will have a budget dedicated to covering these expenses, but you will be in charge of preparing the menus and doing your shopping. A vegetarian diet with local and seasonal products will be favored. This while respecting the participants' diets and discovering local cuisines.

Strand, Natur und Wellenrauschen: kommt mit uns in die Bretagne!
Auf der "Ile Ilur" erlebt ihr ein Workcamp der besonderen Art: die Insel nur mit Hilfe eines privaten Boots zu erreichen. Als Teilnehmende unseres Workcamps aber bringen wir euch dieses einmalige Naturschutzgebiet im Golf von Morbihan näher :-). In einer Gruppe von französischen und deutschen Jugendlichen übernehmt ihr Aufgaben in den Bereichen von Umwelt-/Naturschutz und Erhaltung/Aufwertung des kulturellen Erbes. Hier ein paar Beispiele für mögliche Tätigkeiten eurerseits auf der Insel:
o Strand säubern/pflegen
o Pflanzen pflegen / Pflanzenschutz
o Wege wieder frei legen
o leichte Renovierungsarbeiten; z.B. Trockenmauern restaurieren; Instandhaltungs-
und Verschönerungsarbeiten des traditionell-bretonischen „Dorfs“ der Insel
Im Vordergrund steht aber natürlich vor allem auch der Austausch und das gemeinsame soziale Miteinander zwischen euch Teilnehmenden. Es gibt auch immer ein spannendes Freizeitprogramm mit Ausflügen, Spiel und Sport.
Für An-und Abreisekosten zum Camp wird es voraussichtlich auch in diesem Jahr wieder einen Fahrtkostenzuschuss von bis zu max. 200 Euro geben.
Noch gut zu wissen: Das Camp findet schon seit vielen Jahren mit viel positivem Feedback statt :-) In diesem Jahr hat das Camp eine Teenage Gebühr von 250€; dafür bekommt ihr aber erstmalig auch eine Fahrtkostenrückerstattung (abhängig von der Entfernung eures Wohnortes) bis maximal 200€.

Eure Arbeit findet auf der Insel Ilur statt. Ein privat gemietetes Boot bringt euch an den Arbeitstagen zur Insel.
Die 1 km lange Insel ist Teil des Archipel d'Arz im Golf von Mohiban. Sie ist wild und geschützt: Während sie einst das Zuhause von 9 Familien war, die Kartoffelanbau und Schafhaltung betrieben, lebt heute nur noch ein Küstenwächter dort; gemeinsam mit einer Schafherde. Dieser kümmert sich das ganze Jahr um die Pflege der Insel; er wacht über Hecken, Wiesen und die landschaftliche Vielfalt und freut sich über eure Unterstützung im Sommer ;-).
Backöfen und das Dorf bezeugen heute die damalige Existenz der Familien und sollen als kulturelles Erbe erhalten bleiben. Hierzu braucht es Pflege- und bsiweilen Renovierungsarbeiten.
In den 50er Jahren wurde die Insel privatisiert. Seit 2008 ist sie dank einer großzügigen privaten Spende einer Bretonin im Besitz der Küstenschutzbehörde. So kann der kleine Schatz im Golf von Morhiban nun mit Sorgfalt instand gehalten werden.

Außerhalb eurer Arbeit auf der Insel seid ihr auf einem Campingplatz auf dem Festland, nahe der Insel untergebracht, wo ihr schlaft in 2-Personen Zelten (Zelte werden gestellt; bitte aber Luftmatratze/Isomatte und Schlafsack mitbringen).
Ihr kocht gemeinsam und beteilligt euch in Koch - und Putzgruppen an den anfallenden Aufgaben. Geld für die Verpflegung wird zur Verfügung gestellt.
Requisiti e materiali
Neben Englisch bietet dieses Camp in der Regel auch Gelegenheit, viel Farnzösisch zu sprechen. Französisch Kenntnisse sind daher von Vorteil. Es gibt einen Platz für eine Person, die älter als 18 Jahre sein darf, wenn diese als Ansprechpartnerin für die deutschen Teilnehmenden in diesem Camp fungiert.

Die deutsch-französischen Teenagecamps in der Bretagne werden von unserer französischen Partnerorganisation „La Ligue de l’Enseignement“ organisiert und durchgeführt. Bei der „Ligue“ handelt es sich um eine Organisation für außerschulische Bildung, die bereits seit 150 Jahren existiert und auf lokaler, regionaler und nationaler Ebene vertreten ist. Die „Ligue“ organisiert zahlreiche unterschiedliche Angebote im Bereich der außerschulischen Jugendbildung – etwa im kulturellen, sportlichen und allgemeinbildenden Bereich. Hierbei stellt u.a. die Organisation und Durchführung der deutsch-französischen Jugendcamps in der Bretagne ein wichtiges Aufgabenfeld ihrer Arbeit dar.
Die ijgd organisieren seit 1949 Freiwilligendienste. Wir sind ein unabhängiger, gemeinnütziger Verein der internationalen Jugendarbeit, anerkannter freier Träger der Jugendhilfe und eine der größten und ältesten Workcamp-Organisationen in Deutschland. Jedes Jahr begleiten wir rund 5.000 junge Menschen in Diensten im In- und Ausland. Dabei haben diese die Möglichkeit, kreativ zu sein, solidarisch zu handeln, Eigenverantwortung zu übernehmen und ihre eigenen Potenziale und Kompetenzen zu entdecken. Unsere Partnerschaft mit der Ligue de l’Enseignement besteht schon über viele Jahre.

During the children s camp, volunteers will prepare sessions and take classes on physical exercises, team building, drawing, colorings and painting, art, craft and origami, singing and dancing, drama, music, hiking, teaching language, and so on.

Children Development is one of the major programs at VIN Integrated Community Development Approach. The Goal of the Childrens development program is to protect the rights of all children by providing them access to basic quality education, developing their life skills (creativity, leadership etc.) and providing access to health and hygiene services. VIN has different projects under children s development program such as Children s Clubs (CC), Early Childhood Development (ECD), School Attendance (Teacher Development, Parenting Education, School Infrastructure Development, and Child Sponsorship), and Child Care. Even these days in Nepal, schools are focused mainly on examination and are not doing enough to develop life skills like creativity and leadership for children. Teachers only focus on reading and writing U? 1/2 rote learning. Creativity and individual differences in children are not explored. Due to the busy work schedule of parents, most of the children do not have an opportunity to socialize and be creative. These types of camps are so essential to provide life skills development opportunities to children aged between 5-12 years old. We work only with disadvantaged communities as these families cannot afford to take their children to holidays during their Winter and Summer breaks. Children don t have a proper structure and environment at home or a school to develop their innate talents. Children s camp (during winter and summer breaks) is one of the best places to explore their natural skills such as creativity and leadership. In this work camp, national and international volunteers will facilitate different types of fun and creative activities for the children where VIN works. Objectives: To provide unique opportunities for overall development (social, emotional, physical, mental, creativity) and provide a fun time for children aged between 5 and 12 utilizing their vacation period. To promote friendship, understanding, and solidarity among local young volunteers and cross-national volunteers. To provide an opportunity to understand and appreciate the Nepalese culture and traditions via cultural immersion.

VIN s Environmental and Conservation Programs raise community awareness of critical environmental issues and develop effective solutions. VIN runs various ecological projects that aim to conserve, promote, and protect the environment and culture while preventing, mitigating, and controlling water, land, and air pollution to enhance the health, safety, and welfare of current and future generations. We utilize permaculture for sustainable farming and have been teaching and implementing it since 2018. We believe that permaculture plays a vital role in restoring the entire ecosystem Holi, the Festival of Colors, is a major celebration in Nepal, symbolizing the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring. During this lively festival, people throw colored powders and water to share blessings and celebrate a bountiful harvest. Originally a Hindu tradition, Holi is now celebrated by many, including non-Hindus across South Asia and beyond. The festivities include gathering with family and friends, playing music, and enjoying special foods and drinks. Volunteers help prepare and celebrate the Holi festival in the community.

ProgramThere are diverse activities in the camp program: canoeing, water scootering, running ATV, paintball in the forest, sport games - football, rugby, volleyball, athletics, table tennis, archery, frisbee, disc-golf, trampolines, different competitions, forest cross, sport orientation in the forest on and on sea (navigation), fishing, Viking boats, bicycle trips to explore the area, visit to the horse farm with horse riding, excursions historical places of interest in the area, active games and adventure trail in Roosta Adventure Park, picnics on a seaside, building sand and stones castles on the beach, Estonian sauna party, etc. Bikes are available for the whole camp duration free of charge. WorkThere will be also some voluntary work such as painting of community buildings, making wooden toys and games for local orphanage, repairing benches and tables, cleaning local beach and old local park from garbage, planting trees, little renovation works in the local school, clearing pavement, helping seniors living in the community with some household duties, preparing fire woods for heating, berries and herbs picking to give the crop to the orphanage and seniors home, duty in a kitchen and around the camp once in a shift, etc. The work will be organised in cooperation with local forestry department, municipality of Nova and local school. Please note that the work described above is planned for the whole summer and it may change from one shift to another depending on local needs, the season and weather conditions.

AccommodationIn wooden huts set by the local school nearby the seaside (500 m away). Please bring your sleeping bag and mat. Showers, toilets are provided in the school and there will be additional bio-toilets set on camping site. You can have traditional Estonian sauna every dayCateringMeals are served 3 times a day. There are water machines with cold water in the school complex. Catering takes place in the schools mess hall or into the lager tent outside near the mess. Meals are cooked by professional cooks. Camp common language is English. Local languages are Estonian and Russian.Participation feeUnlike the normal camp there will be not too much of work here. Nevertheless, participants will be provided with board, lodging, local transportation and all equipment necessary to realize camp program. Besides, program involves a lot of extra costs for excursions, trips out, visits, sport activities, equipment, materials and general administration and leadership. Since neither EstYES nor its local camp partner, does not receive financial support for this camp from municipality or private sources, to realize this camp we have to charge participation fee of 500 Euro, which covers all camp and program costs including transfer from Tallinn to and from the camp, and which has to be paid by bank transfer before the camp or by participants upon arrival to the camp. The bank details will be provided after the acceptance of the participant to the camp. This camp is organized for teenagers by youth sport club Lukas-Basket which has been running national youth camps for 25 years and International ones for the past 12 years. International teenage camps will be hosted on seaside in the West of Estonia in Laanemaa County in the municipality of Nova. Beautiful nature, numerous historical places, 200 years long tradition of health resort, unique cultural events are the treasures of the County. Nova with warm sea, white sand, mushroom and berry crops, picturesque lakes, cobble stone road and many places of interest is ideal place for leisure. The aim of Nova camp is to give young people possibility to have active, healthy and meaningful summer vacations with different sport adventures, to enjoy unspoiled nature and to learn to live in harmony with it, also to explore and realize their own capacities and limits. The program will include water activities, sport and ball games, eco-hikes, bicycle trips to places of interest, horse riding, fishing, rowing, acquaintance with local culture and many other exciting things. Mens sana in corpore sano (Healthy Spirit in Healthy Body) i this is the message of the camp Besides all this, camp gives possibility for intensive contacts between local youth and their peers from abroad, showing youngsters the diversity of world cultures, broadening their horizons and encouraging active communication through games and creative activities. Finally, there will be some voluntary work for nature protection and to support local community. The area of the camp is about 3 hectares and it can host over 60 youngsters on one shift. Come to our camp if you feel that…
Thanks to archaeology, the remains of our cultural ancestors can be found, studied and understood. You do not need experience to participate in “Paper Road”. You will work with an archaeologist and historian. The volunteer camp takes place at the foot of the mountain, in the Paular valley, a place historically linked to the Los Batanes estate as a model of industrial development such as the use of different hydraulic devices to take advantage of water energy. This is where the galley proofs with which the first edition of Don Quixote was published were produced.
Why participate in our field?
In “Camino de Papel”, participants will carry out a series of specific archaeological activities in different locations with the aim of discovering archaeological remains based on previous research.
For 15 days, you will be able to enjoy a special vacation, meeting people from other regions and countries.
Tasks specific to the field of volunteering
Clearing and cleaning of existing vegetation , both inside and outside and around the perimeter of archaeological structures.
Manual cleaning and scraping of construction parts (walls, floors, etc.) , removing vegetation that is harmful to architectural elements. If archaeological objects are found, they will be collected, documented and stored for later study.
Excavate certain structures using archaeological methodology , developing strict stratigraphic documentation of the levels of deposition and the construction units that may exist in the subsoil. In this process, all archaeological material will be collected. An archaeological survey is also planned.
Register all archaeological material collected for research and subsequent storage in the Regional Archaeological Museum of the Community of Madrid, as established by current legislation.

Activating kids in the city camp and providing them with cross-cultural learning experience. Volunteers will do it by using various informal methods of teaching as well as small group techniques. The activities to be held by a team of volunteers may include the following: playing the games and performing music that are popular in the countries the volunteers represent; training kids to perform pieces of amateur drama; preparing festivals; providing intellectual and sport games as well as discussions; preparing quests to combine with excursions round the places of interest; organizing actions for peace and nature protection; leading and supporting kids in their work on the team projects within the topics related to the main theme of the summer. Volunteers are responsible for the day activities in the camp. The work can be quite hard, involving long working hours, requiring high level of commitment and responsibility. You will stay with campers from 10:00 to 17:00 (45-minute lunch is included) and spend about another hour to prepare and finalize next day activities and feedback. Working days are from Monday to Friday plus one duty Saturday; Sundays are days off except the one after arrival. The local participants are mainly youngsters from minority groups of Tallinn whose family s languages include Russian. Based on the previous year, we expect a number of kids/teens participants in one camp shift as up to 40. Volunteers will work in pairs facilitating and leading a smaller group of 10 - 12 children or less during the day and change the groups every 2-3 days.During the first three days of the workcamp after arrival, volunteers will be given the training on the camp methodology and some time to prepare themselves to meet the kids/teens on Monday and further carry out their tasks in the camp. For this reason, it is important to arrive on time.

LocationCamp takes place in the school that is situated in the center of Tallinn, Estonian capital www.visittallinn.ee/eng Leisure timeThere are a lot of possibilities for leisure time activities as the camp takes place in the capital where one can find attractions for all tastes: sightseeing and museums, festivals, concerts, live music, pubs, etc. The camp provides an excellent opportunity to establish contacts with young Estonians and to experience the local life.

There are 2 options possible (subject to availability, which will become clear by the start of the project):1) The premises of The Language School In Down-Town located on the 4th and 5th floors of a business building in the city centre. In summer time, a part of the school is reserved for the volunteers accommodation that includes several separate dormitory bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, a small dining area, a large shower area and two separate toilet cabins. Bed linen, towels, pillows and blankets will be provided, so you do NOT need to bring a sleeping bag unless you want so. For the reasons of security, volunteers will be issued only one set of keys. To facilitate a smooth and safe environment at school during the off-hours, the entrance to the school must be kept closed at all times. The access to the school and accommodation areas will be managed by long-term volunteers or school staff. Please be aware that between 01:00 a.m. and 09:00 a.m. the access to the building will be closed. Catering will be organized by the school on an agreement with the volunteers (selection of times, meals - provided or volunteers cook, etc.).2) A furnished shared apartment in the residential area of Tallinn. Volunteers will be issued two sets of keys. The apartment has three-four dormitory bedrooms and all necessary facilities, and it takes about 20 minutes to get to the city center by public transport. Public transport cards will be provided. Volunteers will cook their breakfast meals themselves (food for a standard European breakfast will be provided); dinner meals will be served at school between 18:00 and 19:00; lunches will be organized for the whole camp (including kids/teens) in the city centre.Please note: it is not possible to stay at any of the camp accommodation options before or after the camp arrival and departure days. If you need a place to stay before or after the workcamp dates, we can help you to book a hostel in Tallinn.

Special requirementsYou have to be really motivated to work with kids. Please provide a letter of your motivation along with the application form. An experience of working with children is an advantage. Your ideas and actual preparation to do the activities for kids are essential, so a successful volunteer will be required to meet the team online to discuss and complete some preliminary preparation. We ask you to bring some materials: postcards, posters, symbols of your country, music or popular national games etc., which can be used during your country presentation. We expect active volunteers with a good knowledge of history and culture of their country as well as with an ability and wish to present it to others in a creative way. B2 level of English is required. The age of volunteers is from 20 to 33. Please note that before making a final decision about your participation in the camp, the project coordinator will have a video interview with you.Participation feeWe ask participants to contribute 50 Euro towards the costs of general administration. If you apply for two shifts in a row the participation fee is 80 Euro. This fee has to be paid by bank transfer before the beginning of the camp. This project is organized for local children by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALPS) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. Some international teenage participants may randomly join. The common project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to children and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication using the learning-by-doing method and organizing alternative English language practice. The project gets youngsters familiar with customs and traditions of the countries from all over the world and encourages them to develop their cross-cultural thinking and tolerance as well as global thinking and individual initiative. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Camp participants will gain ideas and skills how to deal with millions of combinations of the world s reality. Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Doullens is located in the northern part of the Somme, at the crossroads between Amiens, Arras, and Abbeville. This strategic position places it within easy reach of historical and cultural landmarks, including the stunning Gothic cathedral of Amiens, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the vibrant city of Arras, known for its beautiful squares and underground tunnels. Surrounded by picturesque countryside, Doullens offers a peaceful setting perfect for outdoor activities such as hiking and exploring the region’s rich history. Volunteers will have the opportunity to visit nearby sites like the Baie de Somme, one of France’s most breathtaking natural reserves, Samara archeological parc or explore the remnants of World War I battlefields. During the summer, local events, markets, and cultural festivities will add to the experience. With the support of the team, outings and activities will be organized to fully enjoy the region’s heritage, nature, and warm community atmosphere.

You will be accommodated in individual tents within one of the citadel’s gardens, a unique and historic setting. A former jail will serve as a communal living space, providing a dining area and a sheltered retreat in case of bad weather. Sanitary facilities will be available in an annex building, while showers will be accessible at the town’s gym, a 15-minute walk from the campsite. Collective living will be at the heart of this experience: you will share daily tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be managed by the animation team for grocery shopping, and you will be encouraged to use fresh, local, and seasonal products for healthy, mainly vegetarian and delicious meals.

Please bring good shoes, working clothes and a swimsuit. As nights can be quite cold, remember also to bring warm clothes, a sleeping bag and a matress for more comfort. You can also bring traditional recipes from your home country/region, an instrument of music and games.

The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the info sheet, sent at least 4 weeks before the beginning of the workcamp. From PARIS, regular trains (around 1 per hour) leave from the Gare du Nord train station for Amiens train station (1hour trip). The EPCC of the Somme are long-standing partners of Concordia. After a first collaboration in 2019 on the archaeological site of Samara, the EPCC of the Somme has decided to renew our partnership for an exciting new project: the exploration and enhancement of the underground tunnels of the Doullens citadel. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to preserving and showcasing historical heritage while engaging young international volunteers in a mission of discovery and cultural transmission. The city of Doullens and the EPCC are fully dedicated to welcoming volunteers and will ensure a friendly and enriching experience. Many interactions with locals and community members are planned, providing a deep immersion into the region’s culture and history. PEACE is the main theme of this project. The workcamp combines volunteering, learning from history, thinking about peace and the exchange with the local villagers in a special way.
+ Volunteering: There will be various smaller tasks in Hötensleben. You will be doing some maintenance work at the border memorial, mowing and building new wooden seating areas. Other small jobs for the local infrastructure will be added.
+ Learning from history: You will not only work on the border memorial, but will of course also be given a lot of background information on the history of the Iron Curtain and the division of Germany, as well as going on excursions to other thematically relevant places of interest.
Thinking about peace: What is Peace for you? When and how is peace in danger? Share your personal point of view and the reality in your home country with other volunteers and with local villagers.
+ Exchange with local villagers: Peace will be one topic to share and to discuss, but you will also get to know local associations and be able to exchange ideas about everyday life today. They are very excited to meet you and will be glad to share stories with you about their experience in this border area. It would be great if you can speak a bit of German and/or are able to communicate with a phone translator.

Hötensleben is a little village with about 2,500 inhabitants. International workcamps have been taking place there for some 25 years, so local inhabitants are looking forward to welcome the volunteers. Many activities will be done together with locals, e.g. the voluntary fire brigade of Hötensleben. Volunteers should be interested in German contemporary history. We will work at and visit historical places and commemoration sites related to Germany’s history.
You will be given bicycles so that you can be mobile in your free time and, for example, go to the swimming pool.

You will stay in the former village hall that is renovated now and includes several holiday apartments’. They offer a quite comfortable stay and ensure enough room for everyone. There are different sleeping rooms with beds provided and a good equipped kitchen as well. Wifi-acess is limited. Bear in mind that the ground floor of the building is used for different activites during the week, and don’t be scared if you see some unfamiliar faces roaming around!
Your group of volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking together. The food will be bought with the camp budget and everybody will take turns for cooking, washing the dishes and cleaning. In order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage volunteers to reduce meat and try more sustainable dishes.

You will be hosted in a very special village. From 1961 to 1989, the Wall with its martial border fortifications ran right next to the village. It divided Germany into two parts and was part of the so-called Iron Curtain. The people of Hötensleben lived in a restricted zone for almost 30 years and always had the Wall in view. To this day, 400 metres of the border fortifications have been preserved as a memorial and are visited by many visitors. 2025 marks the 35th anniversary of German reunification. This should be taken as a sign of hope for Germany, Korea and the whole world and from the basis for further discussions. Questions about war and peace, migration and its causes, isolation and violence are unfortunately still very topical issues today. This project in Hötensleben gives you the opportunity to learn more about the time of the Iron Curtain and the division of Germany and to reflect on what peace means to you and how you can contribute to it. At the end, you will present your personal perspective on the topic of "peace" to the local villagers and discuss it with them. German speakers are therefore particularly welcome.

Background: Amphibians are among the most endangered native animal species groups. Of the 20 native amphibian species found in Germany, only 6 species are not endangered according to the current Red List. In some regions, some have already disappeared. In order to preserve these fascinating animals in the long term, habitat protection is no longer sufficient. For this reason, conservation breeding of particularly endangered species is becoming increasingly important. In this way, the species can be preserved in the long term under controlled conditions and also be available as donor populations for reintroduction projects.
Project objective: Construction of an outdoor facility for keeping and breeding endangered amphibian species
For the nature-identical keeping of amphibians, the construction of a spacious outdoor terrarium makes sense. Only in the open air are the animals exposed to the effects of the weather and seasons in the same way as in the wild, but they are protected from their natural enemies. In order to create a near-natural habitat, it is necessary to provide all sub-habitats such as the summer habitat, the reproduction water and a hibernation area. In addition, a species-appropriate design with hiding places, natural vegetation and basking areas is required. The common goal is to build an open-air terrarium of more than 200 m² under expert guidance and to produce the interior furnishings. The interior design is of particular interest. The design for the target species yellow-bellied toad, tree frog and midwife toad must be planned together. The area is then jointly modeled and equipped with typical biotope props. This includes the construction of one or more spawning ponds and a hibernation site as well as the provision of daytime hiding places made of stone layers, dry stone walls, wood piles and rootstocks. These must be placed according to the requirements of the species being cultivated and combined with suitable natural planting. The first inhabitants can be introduced once the enclosure has been successfully established.

The lodgement of the camp is Granja Sports Hall, a very large indoor sports hall, with internet. It will be divided into a dormitory area and a large multipurpose area. The dormitory will be adapted with camp beds, and it will be separated for boys and girls with movable dividers. ThereIs an adjoining bathouse with ladies bathroom and gentlemen bathroom. We provide breakfast, lunch, snakc and dinner.

Dal 2017 Legambiente e Diversamente Marinai sono impegnati nella campagna “Vele Spiegate”. In questo contesto Diversamente Marinai propone campi di volontariato in barca a vela di una settimana nell'Arcipelago Toscano. Il progetto prevede la pulizia delle spiagge poco accessibili via terra, il monitoraggio dei rifiuti, il monitoraggio e il controllo delle tracce delle tartarughe marine Caretta Caretta, inoltre andremo alla scoperta dei sentieri che incontreremo nelle insenature dove ci fermeremo e mapperemo quelli che non sono presenti sulle carte. Il progetto mira alla conoscenza del mare attraverso la navigazione e alla creazione di team affiatati e motivati. Per questo i partecipanti impareranno la marineria antica e a farsi equipaggio a bordo di un ketch a vela del 1922. Inoltre, saranno formati sulle principali linee guida in termini di sostenibilità ambientale della fruizione del mare. Non ci può essere vera salvaguardia dell’ambiente senza saper apprezzare il paesaggio naturale. Il campo di lavoro vuole realizzare interventi concreti per migliorare la qualità ambientale mostrando all'equipaggio come vivere sul mare e con il mare sia un’esperienza indimenticabile. Le attività del campo sono arricchite dalla pratica quotidiana della riduzione degli sprechi che la vita di bordo comporta e dalla possibilità di spostarsi utilizzando prevalentemente il vento. Vele Spiegate è un progetto inserito nella Carta Europea del Turismo Sostenibile del Parco Nazionale Arcipelago Toscano per il periodo 2021-2025. Didattica della vela e la vita di bordo: l’attività prevede un corso di primo livello di navigazione a vela e conduzione di un’imbarcazione storica, attraverso la sperimentazione diretta delle nozioni acquisite.
Pulizia e monitoraggio delle spiagge accessibili solo dal mare: il progetto prevede la pulizia di alcune spiagge difficilmente accessibili via terra, attraverso la rimozione dei rifiuti. In tale occasione saranno anche monitorati i rifiuti attraverso la tecnica del Beach litter riportando dati e riflessioni su appositi moduli, fornendo dati che saranno utilizzati per scopi scientifici.
Ricerca e monitoraggio delle tracce della tartaruga Caretta caretta: i partecipanti impareranno a riconoscere le tracce della tartaruga e saranno impegnati anche nella ricerca delle stesse e nella sensibilizzazione di cittadini e turisti.
Mappatura sentieri: verrà monitorato lo stato dei sentieri che collegano le principali vie sentieristiche dell’isola alle spiagge e insenature, raggiungibili prevalentemente a piedi, e presso le quali faremo sosta con la nostra imbarcazione; e eventuale pulizia o segnalazione delle criticità riscontrate

L'Arcipelago toscano è formato da un gruppo di sette isole maggiori, di cui la più grande è l'isola d'Elba, più alcune minori, secche e scogli situati tra la terraferma toscana e la Corsica. L'arcipelago è bagnato da quattro mari: il mar Ligure a nord dell'isola d'Elba, il canale di Piombino a est, il mar Tirreno a sud e il canale di Corsica a ovest delle coste elbane. Il canale di Corsica e il canale di Piombino possono essere considerati come canali naturali di collegamento tra il mar Ligure e il mar Tirreno, rispettivamente a ovest e ad est dell'isola d'Elba.

Acquisizione delle conoscenze veliche di base per la conduzione di un’imbarcazione in sicurezza. Acquisizione delle conoscenze di base di marineria storica. Incremento della conoscenza di alcuni ambienti naturali dell’Arcipelago Toscano e della sua biodiversità. Apprendimento relativo alle emergenze ecologiche dell’ecosistema marino e costiero e correlazione con le abitudini di consumo e trattamento dei rifiuti. Attività formative di base volte al riconoscimento delle tracce della tartaruga marina (Caretta Caretta).
Alloggio
I partecipanti alloggeranno su un ketch a vela in legno del 1922 di 16,5 metri. I pasti verranno preparati in barca e si seguirà un'alimentazione prevalentemente vegetariana.
