Lepaniidi Farm has currently about 100 sheep for producing meet and wool, over 40 goats, 20 of whom are for milk and goat cheese production. Volunteers will be helping grazing, feeding, milking the goats, processing the milk, but also picking berries and vegetables. So, in the mornings there will be goats milking, at days - picking the berries and fruits (strawberries, raspberries and blackcurrant) and making a jam/juice or there will be work in vegetable garden, removing weeds, picking vegetables, etc. Towards end of summer volunteers will be mainly picking up and sorting vegetables (potatoes, carrots, beetroots), milking goats and making cheese. Participants will have a great chance to get familiar with various farm jobs and even to learn how to make goat cheese Inside of the house it would be great to give some hand cooking and cleaning around. The working day will be 6-7 hours, 5-6 days a week (NB: milking is every day). Work will be supervised by local hosts with whom volunteers will stay sharing work and leisure as a family.

This camp is absolutely suitable for people who enjoy nature and interested in traditional ways of rural living.

The accommodation conditions at the farm is simple but decent - in old sauna house or caravan but on beds. Please bring your sleeping bag. Toilets and showers are available in the main house; there is also traditional Estonian sauna in the farm. There is a kitchen with necessary equipment for cooking, which volunteers may use freely i just like at home. Usually volunteers will have breakfasts and lunch together with farmers cooked and served by the hosts, but you always can help with cooking. Dinners will be prepared by volunteers.

Special requirementsMotivation letter is required. You have to be ready to adapt to the simple conditions of the common life in the country side of Estonia and be willing to do farm work, which can be hard sometimes. Not suitable for lactose allergic participants since host offers a lot of dairy products. The host eats a lot of meat products too, but volunteers can always cook for themselves. Smoking and drinking alcohol is not allowed in this camp. Participation feeWe ask participants to contribute 60 Euros towards the costs of the general administration. This fee has to be paid by bank transfer before the beginning of the stay. If you cannot make it, ask your sending organization for solution.

Nowadays Hiiumaa is the second biggest island of Estonia with the area of 965 sq. km and the population around 9 000. It has many historical and nature sights, and there are kind people known for their hospitality and good sense of humor. The island is referred as a remote area of Europe, so EstYES feels particularly proud developing international voluntary projects for over 20 years there. For years EstYES has been cooperating with farms all over Estonia for solidarity and practical support to local people who work in agricultural sector keeping traditional life style and developing new eco-farming despite of all difficulties. Lepaniidi Farm on Hiiumaa Island is one of such projects. This is an organic farm promoting sustainable lifestyle, and camp is proposed for volunteers who appreciate and share its values, want to learn more about it and to help hard working people.NB It is possible to adapt the arrival date to your availability.

We will help their organic farming (planting rice and vegetables, weeding in the vegetable fields, taking care of goats and chicken) and also carry the things from the town, renovate the trails, help their house work such as cooking, washing, clearing, etc. Be ready to work for quite a long time (05:30-18:00 with some brakes) and hard! It'd be surely good exercise to make your body more healthy!

Volunteers will sleep in a few rooms of the house that is a very beautiful cultural heritage and equips the basic facilities such as water, electricity and a bath room! They will have meals, meetings and social life with Kyodo Gakusha members in the main building (just 30 meters far). Meals will be cooked by volunteers together with the members by turns. Sleeping bag is not necessary.

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 10 (Reduced Inequalities), organized together with Kyodo Gakusha since 2000, a cooperative community where people with various backgrounds such as mentally disadvantaged, people who are tired of city life, who want to learn farming, who want to live in the nature, etc. They have 5 communities in Japan incl. Maki and Tateya and grow animals and vegetables in ecological, organic way. Maki is located in a very isolated area (not accessible for cars and we have to walk 4 km in the mountains!), so it once became an abandon village in 1970s and then, was revived by Kyodo Gakusha. Over 10 people were living till several years ago, but less and less in these years (almost nobody in the winter), so vols. are needed even more!
*Outcome of this workcamp: In 2024, we had 8 vols. from 6 countries who greatly contributed to the organic farming! Alliksaare Farm s main direction is horse breeding. At the moment there are around 150 horses on the farm. The work can be diverse: it is to take care and maintain the pastures located by the sea - clearing around the pastures, building or removing fences, repairing fences, cleaning the stable. Another work is cleaning the coast nearby the farm from rubbish brought by storms. There can be some work for preparing food for horses for a winter time. However the major and the most important one is work with horses directly - taking care and training them. There are horses of any age but mostly young ones, so depending on your experience and willingness to learn more, it is possible to practice taking care of and training young horses. For example socializing and training foals, halter train yearlings and saddle and/or carriage train young horses. The work will be mainly outdoors. Working time is 6-7 hours a day. Work will be done under some supervision and guidance of the local host but mostly independently.

Aim of the project: With the mission of sustainable living and community development. Volunteers will play a vital role in preserving the village’s natural environment, promoting eco-friendly practices, and supporting local initiatives. By participating in various tasks, such as organic farming, education, and community outreach, volunteers will contribute to creating a more sustainable and self-sufficient village. Their involvement will not only benefit the local community but also provide them with a unique opportunity to learn about different cultures, gain valuable skills, and experience the beauty of sustainable living
Volunteers will teach English to children from 3 to 17 years old (about 15 students per class) and adults, focusing on communication. Besides, the volunteers will support the local villagers in their daily tasks, such as in the kitchen, reception, restaurant, farms, and other manual work, to maintain the beauty and preserve the culture of the village.

Every year, VPV cooperates with V.GO (Vietnam Global Outreach organize different international workcamp as well as send International volunteers to support sustainable living, promote eco-tourism and preserve ethnic cultures of Vietnam in Thai Hai Village.
Thai Hai Village - one of 32 ‘Best Tourism Villages 2022’ by UN Tourism.
Thai Hai Village is the result of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hai's dedication to preserve traditional cultural values of Tay ethnic group in Vietnam and contribute to building a just and humane society and sustainable development.
More than 30 original stilt houses, at least half a century old was rebuilt and restored in a natural area surrounded by hills and trees in Thai Hai Village. Not only the house's structure but also the ethos of Tay culture, the soul and vitality of the traditional values were preserved and passed on from generation to generation.
Day after day, the villagers cultivate and raise livestock, grow fruits and green tea to accommodate for their daily life, and to serve tourists who come to the village. Together, they form a community that “Eat Together, Share Together”, preserves and promotes their traditional cultural values. After a working day, they gather around the fireplace of the house and sing Then songs (Tay’s traditional singing) with “dan tinh” (traditional musical instrument), with flute and traditional “nang then” dance, together creating a very peaceful and cosy atmosphere.

You'll be working on a timber frame for a hiking shelter, located in the immediate proximity of the Abbey of Clausonne. A local carpenter will guide you in assembling the supporting structure, making the joints, and building the floor. Each day, two members of the group will rotate in preparing meals for the team; the menu will be defined in advance. You'll work on-site during the mornings from Monday to Friday.
Generally speaking, the work involves carpentry, preparing tools and meals, as well as organizing and setting up community life.

The site is located just below the summit of Aujour Mountain, so the view may inspire you to discover the pleasure of the hike in your spare time. Indeed, this spot in the wilderness is ideal for enjoying mountain walking and wandering. A small valley in the heart of a sublime alpine landscape, the remains of the 12th-century abbey of Clausonne, and a 300 km hiking trail that crosses the site. All this invites you to discover this rural area and its history! Here, for the past 30 years, a local association has been involved in preserving and promoting the site, as well as contributing to the life of Clausonne and writing its present-day history.
Last summer, work began on the construction of a hiker's shelter on the site. As this is a stage on an itinerary of ancient transhumance routes, you'll be contributing to welcoming cyclists and hikers for years to come.
This project is just one of the many initiatives in which international and local volunteers, the people on work integration programs, and other professionals have participated over the years.
You'll be staying at the Ferme du Fai, an old mountain farmhouse that's kept alive by a team of employees working on the renovation of the buildings, artists and musicians in artistic residences, hikers passing through, and the curious. This camp is open to participants aged 16 to 20. During their stay, SEEDS organises a programme that combines learning, sharing, getting to know Iceland and its culture, and having fun while exploring the city and some of the most stunning natural attractions in the Golden Circle and Reykjanes Peninsula excursions. Note that this is a learning/sharing camp and not a regular workcamp; this project has a smaller volunteer work part and emphasises the personal learning process over the community impact. We may be able to organise some outdoor voluntary work, but it depends on our partners and the weather conditions.

PROJECT: This is the eighteenth year (since 2008) that SEEDS organises a series of International Photography projects and we started organising these camps for teenagers in the year 2010. Throughout the year, participants from all over the world come to Iceland for an immersive photography-related learning camp. SEEDS coordinators help the participants to develop their unique photographic skills through workshops and feedback sessions on technical settings, compositional considerations, as well as to create conceptual frameworks highlighting the participants individual style. Participants will have time to put the theory about photography into practice, walking around and exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.While learning about photography, the participants have the opportunity to explore Icelandic culture by taking part in it, capturing it and also by displaying their work during the camp. One of our objectives is to empower young people to use photography to draw attention to environmental and cultural subjects and issues.Participants should be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances during activities and working within a flexible time schedule. Participants will be photographing in their free time outside of workshop hours with images to be discussed at group feedback sessions.

This camp allows volunteers to learn about global and local environmental issues through non-formal activitiessuch as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits, as well as to contribute directly to environmentprotection by joining outdoor cleanup tasks.These cleanup tasks may be arranged in partnership with the above mentioned organisations or run solely bySEEDS. We also aim to involve the local community, so some of our events may be open to the public. We hopeparticipants will learn how to plan and carry out their own trash cleaning projects back at home. This project isbased on similar activities around the world, where outstanding results have been achieved with volunteers.Volunteers can choose one of the two options below, included as hands-on volunteering activity in the camp:1. A day trip combining a visit to the Hellisheioi geothermal power plant, a trash collection in the area, andthe Hot River Hike, a hike up a valley filled with hot springs where one can bathe.2. A day trip to the Reykjanes Peninsula, combined with a coastal cleanup in the area.Please note that all activities are subject to weather conditions and the availability of our partners.This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. No previous experience is needed. Project overview
The Taita hills rise from the Southeastern Nyika Plateau. They are ancient fault-block formation stretching south to Malawi through Eastern and Southern Tanzania. They sit almost cheek-by-jowl with one of the region’s recent volcanic ranges, the Chyulu Hills. The project is situated on the foot of the Sagalla Hills in Taita Taveta district in coastal part of Kenya. It is approximately 7-8 hours’ drive from Nairobi. Sagalla is remembered to be a home of the first missionaries in the early 1900 and these is evident with one of the first churches in Kenya still standing strong.
Project activities
Gideon Mosi Primary School is a relatively new institution was founded in 1990 and it has rapidly expanded to accommodate 293 boys and girls from class 1-8. The 8 Teachers at the Gideon Mosi Primary School are employed by the Teachers Service commission and they are qualified to teach all rounds from class 1-8. In cases where the teaching staff is not adequate, the Parents and Teachers Association employs teachers for a short duration of time to help bridge the obtaining gap.

Activating kids in the city camp and providing them with cross-cultural learning experience. Volunteers will do it by using various informal methods of teaching as well as small group techniques. The activities to be held by a team of volunteers may include the following: playing the games and performing music that are popular in the countries the volunteers represent; training kids to perform pieces of amateur drama; preparing festivals; providing intellectual and sport games as well as discussions; preparing quests to combine with excursions round the places of interest; organizing actions for peace and nature protection; leading and supporting kids in their work on the team projects within the topics related to the main theme of the summer. Volunteers are responsible for the day activities in the camp. The work can be quite hard, involving long working hours, requiring high level of commitment and responsibility. You will stay with campers from 10:00 to 17:00 (45-minute lunch is included) and spend about another hour to prepare and finalize next day activities and feedback. Working days are from Monday to Friday plus one duty Saturday; Sundays are days off except the one after arrival. The local participants are mainly youngsters from minority groups of Tallinn whose family s languages include Russian. Based on the previous year, we expect a number of kids/teens participants in one camp shift as up to 40. Volunteers will work in pairs facilitating and leading a smaller group of 10 - 12 children or less during the day and change the groups every 2-3 days.During the first three days of the workcamp after arrival, volunteers will be given the training on the camp methodology and some time to prepare themselves to meet the kids/teens on Monday and further carry out their tasks in the camp. For this reason, it is important to arrive on time.

There are 2 options possible (subject to availability, which will become clear by the start of the project):1) The premises of The Language School In Down-Town located on the 4th and 5th floors of a business building in the city centre. In summer time, a part of the school is reserved for the volunteers accommodation that includes several separate dormitory bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, a small dining area, a large shower area and two separate toilet cabins. Bed linen, towels, pillows and blankets will be provided, so you do NOT need to bring a sleeping bag unless you want so. For the reasons of security, volunteers will be issued only one set of keys. To facilitate a smooth and safe environment at school during the off-hours, the entrance to the school must be kept closed at all times. The access to the school and accommodation areas will be managed by long-term volunteers or school staff. Please be aware that between 01:00 a.m. and 09:00 a.m. the access to the building will be closed. Catering will be organized by the school on an agreement with the volunteers (selection of times, meals - provided or volunteers cook, etc.).2) A furnished shared apartment in the residential area of Tallinn. Volunteers will be issued two sets of keys. The apartment has three-four dormitory bedrooms and all necessary facilities, and it takes about 20 minutes to get to the city center by public transport. Public transport cards will be provided. Volunteers will cook their breakfast meals themselves (food for a standard European breakfast will be provided); dinner meals will be served at school between 18:00 and 19:00; lunches will be organized for the whole camp (including kids/teens) in the city centre.Please note: it is not possible to stay at any of the camp accommodation options before or after the camp arrival and departure days. Special requirementsYou have to be really motivated to work with kids. Please provide a letter of your motivation along with the application form. An experience of working with children is an advantage. Your ideas and actual preparation to do the activities for kids are essential, so a successful volunteer will be required to meet the team online to discuss and complete some preliminary preparation. We ask you to bring some materials: postcards, posters, symbols of your country, music or popular national games etc., which can be used during your country presentation. We expect active volunteers with a good knowledge of history and culture of their country as well as with an ability and wish to present it to others in a creative way. B2 level of English is required. The age of volunteers is from 20 to 33. Please note that before making a final decision about your participation in the camp, the project coordinator will have a video interview with you.Participation feeWe ask participants to contribute 50 Euro towards the costs of general administration. If you apply for two shifts in a row the participation fee is 80 Euro. This fee has to be paid by bank transfer before the beginning of the camp. This project is organized for local children by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALPS) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. Some international teenage participants may randomly join. The common project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to children and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication using the learning-by-doing method and organizing alternative English language practice. The project gets youngsters familiar with customs and traditions of the countries from all over the world and encourages them to develop their cross-cultural thinking and tolerance as well as global thinking and individual initiative. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Camp participants will gain ideas and skills how to deal with millions of combinations of the world s reality. Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. I campi di formazione e volontariato per minorenni a Pioppi nascono con il chiaro obiettivo di formare i ragazz* alla vita di gruppo, alla scoperta e valorizzazione della natura marina e terrestre del nostro mediterraneo nel meraviglioso contesto del parco del Cilento, ospitati presso il centro Velico di Pioppi.
Oltre all'impegno ambientale, i partecipanti avranno anche l'opportunità di imparare nuove abilità sportive, grazie ai corsi di vela e SUP tenuti da istruttori qualificati. I corsi di vela consentiranno ai giovani di apprendere le basi della navigazione a vela, mentre i corsi di SUP offriranno loro di apprendere una disciplina divertente e sana. L’offerta del centro non si limita all’elemento acqua ma si addentra nella macchia e nella foresta mediterranea grazie al percorso naturalistico orientato che porta alla cascata del Pozzo dell’Uva Nera, agli sport di gruppo presso i campetti di calcio e padel, a soli 300m dal centro Velico, percorribili in sicurezza a piedi.

Alcune giornate del campo saranno dedicate ad attività di volontariato quali pulizia spiagge, pulizia del sentiero e manutenzione aree verdi del centro.
I partecipanti al campo saranno coinvolti attivamente nella pulizia delle spiagge e delle calette locali. Attraverso questa attività, impareranno l'importanza di preservare e proteggere gli ecosistemi marini, contribuendo direttamente alla salvaguardia dell'ambiente.
Un’attività cardine dei campi sarà la visita archeologica guidata presso il parco di Paestum o dell’antica Elea; il viaggio nella storia continua presso Il Museo Vivo del Mare e della Dieta Mediterranea che si trova a pochi passi dal Centro velico, una piccola passeggiata porta i ragazzi presso i Musei gestito da Legambiente e poi al centro del piccolo borgo di Pioppi, piccola comunità di pescatori che conserva intatto il fascino di una storia antica.

Pioppi è la capitale mondiale della dieta mediterranea e uno dei luoghi più belli e noti della costa del Parco Nazionale del Cilento. La cultura mediterranea è ricca di frutti da cogliere durante queste esperienze; le radici culturali affondano nel Cilento sin dai tempi dell’antica Elea, insediamento della Magna Grecia, città stato di Parmenide e Zenone, che insiste a pochi chilometri dal nostro centro.

La giornata della legalità si concentrerà sulla figura di Angelo Vassallo, sindaco di Pollica ucciso nel 2010, la cui opera è impressa nella bellezza dei luoghi che ospitano il campo. Incontreremo amici e familiari che con lui hanno condiviso battaglie e sogni.

Il Circolo Cilento Mediterraneo nasce a Pioppi sull'esempio e la memoria di Angelo Vassallo, sindaco indimenticato del nostro Comune, barbaramente ucciso nel 2010.
Il Circolo concentra le sue attività attorno al Museo del Mare e della Dieta mediterranea, che gestisce sotto l'egida di Legambiente nazionale.
Diverse le iniziative che durante l'anno coinvolgono cittadini e turisti, puntando sempre alla conservazione della natura e alla sensibilizzazione sui temi del rispetto per l'ambiente.
Il campo è realizzato in collaborazione con l'ASD Anemos Pioppi, associazione iscritta al Coni, che gestirà le attività sportive del campo.

I campi di volontariato si svolgono nella spiaggia dell’Isola dei Conigli, zona A di Riserva Naturale e sito di deposizione della tartaruga marina Caretta caretta. I campi hanno una duplice finalità: contribuire alla tutela della spiaggia, intensamente frequentata a fini balneari, in modo da garantire le condizioni ambientali idonee all’ovodeposizione di Caretta caretta, controllando l’impatto antropico sul sito; sorvegliare e proteggere i nidi di Caretta caretta, dalla deposizione alla schiusa. Questi campi sono una grande occasione per quanti, appassionati della natura, vogliono prendersene cura svolgendo attività utili ed entusiasmanti, in uno dei luoghi più belli di Lampedusa e del Mediterraneo, meritevole di essere salvaguardato per la sua bellezza e per la sua grande importanza naturalistica.
Lavoro
Il campo prevede lo svolgimento di turni giornalieri di 6 ore circa e, all’occorrenza, turni notturni di 8–10 ore. I turni giornalieri sono finalizzati al controllo della balneazione, mediante sorveglianza ed attività di informazione e sensibilizzazione dei bagnanti, in modo da far rispettare i regolamenti vigenti nella riserva. Dalle 8 alle 20.00 i volontari si alterneranno per coprire due postazioni fisse: una all'ingresso della Riserva e una sulla spiaggia. All'ingresso, i volontari forniranno informazioni ai visitatori e forniranno supporto agli operatori nelle attività di controllo degli accessi alla spiaggia. In spiaggia, i volontari sorveglieranno gli eventuali nidi deposti, saranno punto di riferimento per quanti vogliono conoscere la biologia riproduttiva di Caretta caretta e svolgeranno attività di sensibilizzazione nei confronti dei turisti (inviteranno al rispetto delle norme comportamentali da osservare, effettueranno la pulizia dell’arenile, ecc.). I volontari, inoltre, collaboreranno nelle attività di rilevamento dei dati sulla fruizione e saranno di sostegno agli operatori della riserva per il rilevamento dei dati sui nidi di tartaruga e sui piccoli. I turni notturni si svolgeranno presso la struttura ubicata all'ingresso della riserva e sono finalizzati ad impedire l’accesso in spiaggia di eventuali visitatori durante la notte, che potrebbero pregiudicare gli eventi di nidificazione della tartaruga. Durante le schiuse dei nidi i turni notturni si svolgeranno in spiaggia. I volontari parteciperanno anche alle attività di salvaguardia e sorveglianza (diurna e notturna) di eventuali nidi deposti in altre spiagge dell’isola che rientrano nelle competenze dell'Ente Gestore della Riserva. I volontari, a turno, si occuperanno anche della preparazione dei pasti e della pulizia dell’alloggio.

Molto più vicina all’Africa che alla Sicilia, Lampedusa appartiene all’Arcipelago delle Pelagie. Nel 1996 la Regione Siciliana ha istituito la Riserva Naturale “Isola di Lampedusa”, gestita da Legambiente Sicilia. L’area protetta si estende per circa 360 ettari lungo un’ampia fascia incontaminata della costa meridionale dell’isola ed è finalizzata alla conservazione delle espressioni più significative della fauna e della flora presenti sul territorio. La spiaggia dei Conigli è stata per anni oggetto di ogni forma di abuso e degrado, ma grazie agli interventi di recupero ambientale, controllo e sensibilizzazione dell’Ente Gestore oggi è un modello di gestione e promozione di un turismo sostenibile, che ha saputo coniugare conservazione della natura con la fruizione del territorio.

Attività formative
All’inizio di ogni campo i volontari parteciperanno ad un incontro formativo presso la sede della Riserva (tenuto dal personale della Riserva), durante il quale verranno fornite le principali informazioni sull’area protetta (storia, caratteristiche, regolamento, ecc.), sulla biologia della tartaruga marina e sulle attività che si svolgeranno durante il campo.

Requisiti e materiali
Il campo è particolarmente impegnativo, poiché prevede una turnazione continua per garantire il controllo del sito h24. Buona attitudine a camminare; buone condizioni fisiche, capacità di svolgere le attività anche con particolari condizioni climatiche (essere in grado di trascorrere diverse ore sotto il sole, ma anche in presenza di vento, umidità, pioggia, zanzare…).

Intercultural and Language (ICL) – Nakhon Ratchasima, learning and sharing the
intercultural and language still are the main purpose. Volunteers will share and exchange
culture, language, and knowledge with the local community and students in the school.
English as the global language and intercultural learning are important for local Thai people
to understand and be for global citizens. English is also the gateway to open mind and
knowledge. The project was created by VSA Thailand and has been successful for eight
years. Former volunteers came to give the opportunity for children in schools and the local
community. Many local people improved their English skills through exchanging with
international volunteers, or at least they try to speak the English language more and dare
to face and work with the foreigner even though they cannot speak English. Moreover,
volunteers’ activities impacted the local community. They used to stay lively and trusty
with the foreigner. Local people have a chance to learn, accept, and adopt the ways of life
with the different cultures.
Ban Krogluek School is a primary school, there are about 10 teachers and 100 students from
kindergarten (2-6 years old), pratomsuksa 1-6 (7-12 years old). VSA has sent volunteers
to this School since 2015.
Ban Maab Grad School is a primary school, there are about 9 teachers, 1 janitor and 60
students from kindergarten (2-6 years old), pratomsuksa 1-6 (7-12 years old). VSA has

VIN s Environmental and Conservation Programs raise community awareness of critical environmental issues and develop effective solutions. VIN runs various ecological projects that aim to conserve, promote, and protect the environment and culture while preventing, mitigating, and controlling water, land, and air pollution to enhance the health, safety, and welfare of current and future generations. We utilize permaculture for sustainable farming and have been teaching and implementing it since 2018. We believe that permaculture plays a vital role in restoring the entire ecosystem Holi, the Festival of Colors, is a major celebration in Nepal, symbolizing the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring. During this lively festival, people throw colored powders and water to share blessings and celebrate a bountiful harvest. Originally a Hindu tradition, Holi is now celebrated by many, including non-Hindus across South Asia and beyond. The festivities include gathering with family and friends, playing music, and enjoying special foods and drinks. Volunteers help prepare and celebrate the Holi festival in the community.

The work also extends to the general maintenance of communal spaces and halls, contributing to the overall experience of visitors who use the castle for cultural events, educational programmes, and retreats. The income generated from these activities is directly reinvested into the castle’s conservation and educational projects, meaning that the work of volunteers directly supports heritage preservation efforts, even if not through conservation itself.
Beyond the practical tasks, the workcamp offers a unique and immersive experience. When the castle closes its doors to the public in the evenings, it becomes the volunteers' home, a place where they can experience the privilege of inhabiting a medieval site. In this way, they take on the role of stewards, caring for the space as if it were their own. The experience encourages a sense of responsibility, ownership, and connection to heritage, reinforcing the idea that heritage sites thrive not only through large-scale restoration projects but also through the daily care and attention given to them by those who value their existence.

Lohra Castle is situated in the heart of Germany in Northern Thuringia. The castle, which is surrounded by a scenic hilly landscape, is located on the edge of a nature reserve area. Being one of the largest castles in Thuringia, the history of the castle Lohra begins in the Middle Age. The castle is more than 1,000 years old. Today, it includes twenty buildings from different times: medieval fortifications, remnants of a tower from the 11th century, a Romanesque chapel, a manor house from the Renaissance period as well as stables and granaries from the 19th and the early 20th centuries. The ensemble is situated in the centre of a beautiful forest. For years Lohra Castle was vacant. In the 1990s Open Houses started to restore the castle and to revive it by cultural activities. Since that time, a large number of Workcamps, Building Weeks, exhibitions, concerts and other activities with international participants took place in the castle.

In most of Open Houses' camps the volunteers will live at the same places they also work on, what means that they live more or less on a building site. In most of the Heritage Volunteers Projects the accommodation is located in a certain distance to the working site.
The accommodation is usually very simple; there are shared rooms with simple beds or mattresses at most of the places. Shower, toilet and kitchen are at the place, but sometimes not in the same building. The equipment is simple but fair. After work, when everybody wants to take a shower, there can be a limit of hot water.
The meals will be prepared together as they are part of the community life, what means that every participant will be responsible for the meal at least once during its stay. So it would be very nice if the participants could bring typical recipes from home in order to introduce each other to the preparation of food from all over the world.

Open Houses – rooms open for those who come along. Open Houses – not empty buildings, but places with visible and invisible traces of history, places which have grown and decayed over the centuries, places which were shaped by those people who lived there long ago as well those who left only yesterday – places which will be shaped by those who live there or who come as a guest. Open Houses – rooms which want to be filled with dreams and ideas, with meetings and exchange, by people of different backgrounds, different cultures, different generations and different ideas and visions. The history of Open Houses Network dates back to the mid-1980s, when a group of young people started to restore village churches in East Germany in voluntary work to protect them from decay. The engagement for these buildings united people who enjoyed the freedom these activities provided and who filled these rooms with life again in ways which by far exceed the craftsmen's work done – through exhibitions, concerts, making music together or just sitting by the camp fire. Meanwhile, rooms free of political and ideological pressure are no longer urgently required; however, places have become rare where people can meet without commercial pressure, free of bureaucracy and institutionalism, free of nepotism and the exclusion which it produces. What should be easy – to go somewhere in order to meet people and to work together – has become difficult. The tightrope walk between, on the one hand, public activities in a monetary and functional sense, and the retreat into private life on the other, is very difficult, and it requires a lot of power and permanent efforts to tackle red tape and financial restrictions. Free spaces are less and less understood as common property, and are permanently being cut back. The idea of public property seems to have gone out of fashion, and places of common responsible work have become rare. Open Houses Network tries to create and protect such spaces. In this process, we do not want to be the doers, but be people who have a vision, who want to initiate something, but who also are aware of depending on the co-operation of others. We understand our projects and events as offers – as offers to create space for commitment, for changes, for meetings.

The main task is harvesting various berries and vegetables such as rhubarb, currants, raspberries, Japanese quince, then helping juice making and products packaging. But there is also weed control and fertilization with mulch in plantations, mowing grass, cutting branches, removal of bushes and wood chipping, assistance in the construction of various small buildings, vegetable beds and other necessary structures on the site, painting as well. And there is ongoing work of planting seeds. Working hours are 5-7 hours a day for 5 days a week. The exact work depends on season and partly on weather conditions.

LocationThe farm is located in Kanepi municipality just 11 km from Otepaa and 47 km from Tartu. When coming from Tartu, choose a bus to Voru and get off at the Saverna stop. Buses stop there quite often, travel takes about 40 minutes. Also you can come through Otepaa. Knowing you arrival time and place hosts will pick you up from there. Bus information is on www.tpilet.ee or www.luxexpress.ee. The farm is located in the tiny village of Aiaste. It is important to understand that it is calm and quiet place (there are no events in the village). But with nice weather, it is possible to watch animals like deer on the field, foxes in a strawberry bed and storks. While sitting by the fire at night, enjoy stars in the sky and listen to the nature sounds by animals such as badgers or raccoons.Leisure timeIt is possible to swim, make a fire, play volleyball, disc golf and other games or go for mushroom picking if you like it. There is a swimming lake in Valgjarv 4 km away. You can use various hiking trails. If interested you can visit nearby farms where you can get to know horses, sheep and other animals and see many other interesting things. Farm life conditions are simple but decent. Sleeping is in a separate house in beds. Bed sheets, blankets and pillows are provided, so no need for sleeping bag. There is outdoor kitchen with all necessary equipment. Volunteers can make breakfast and lunch themselves, and dinner will be prepared by and taken with the family. Washing is in the sauna. There is a dry organic toilet. Volunteers have to take care of their surroundings by cleaning up after themselves.

Organic farm Kingu is one of them. This is a berry, fruit and vegetable micro-farm in the South Estonia. The main berry crops are raspberries, various currants, gooseberries, Japanese quince, garlic and rhubarb. Everything is grown in an environmentally sustainable way using straw and hay. To come help us it is not necessary to have previous experience with animals, simply
be willing to help them.
In the shelter we carry out different tasks, the main one is feeding, once all the
animals are enjoying their food, we start with the cleaning tasks in the different
enclosures.
The work to be done is physical, we have to work with wheelballows, both to deed the animals and when we clean, such as using a shovel and rake to clean the enclosures.
On the other hand, two tasks are carried out in the afternoons, but they are shared in shifts among all volunteers during the week.
One of them is to go to two supermarkets to look for food that they donate to us, which is useful for both us and the animals, and the other task is to give a snack to the pigs, ducks and some wheelbarrows of hay to the horses if they no longer like them. nothing left.

ProgramCamp program includes team projects, discussions at the round table, social and sport games, performances in the open air, actions for peace and nature protection, meetings with people, visits to museums and sightseeing as well as presentations of the countries that camp participants and volunteers represent, etc. Every day the camp will have a country presentation, a subject to learn or discuss and a related activity. Teenagers will stay in the camp activities zone from 10:00 to 17:00. There will be one day off in the camp and at least one day of travel outside Tallinn. The day off is spent either under the leadership of a member of the school staff or in the host family. Camp activities will take place in the premises of the language school that is situated in the very centre of the city. To activate teenagers and run the program, there will be a group of international volunteers and members of the local school staff. Longer camp shifts include one trip outside Tallinn.

AccommodationThere are 2 options possible (subject to availability, which will become clear by the beginning of the camp):1) In the premises of The Language School In Down-Town located on the 4th and 5th floors of a business building in the city centre. In summer time, a part of the school is reserved for the camp participants accommodation that includes several separate dormitory bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, a dining area, a large shower area and two separate toilet cabins. Apart from bedrooms, the tea-room for rest will be also organized where teenagers might watch films, read and play board games enjoying soft sofas. Bed linen, pillows and blankets will be provided, so you do NOT need to bring a sleeping bag unless you want so. For the reasons of security, minimum one school staff member and one volunteer will be staying with camp participants overnights to maintain life, catering and general order on the site. To facilitate a smooth and safe environment at school during the off-hours, the entrance to the school must be kept closed at all times. The access to the school and accommodation areas will be managed by long-term volunteers or school staff. Please be aware that you must be inside by 22:00 the latest unless supervised outside by a school staff member. Participants will have breakfasts and dinners at school, lunches i together with other camp participants.2) In the host families of some of local participants who will join this camp. The apartments of the host families may be located in Tallinn or its suburbs. Participants will stay in a separate or shared room. You do NOT need a sleeping bag. Participants will have breakfasts and dinners in their host families, lunches i together with other camp participants in the city. Travel cards will be provided, pick up service at arrival is provided upon request.Please note: it is not possible to stay at any of the camp accommodation options before or after the camp arrival and departure days. Special requirementsWe will welcome any ideas to improve the program and your active participation in it. English is the camp language. The age of international camp participants is 14 i 16. Please be aware that during the day program of the camp the participants will be asked to leave their cell phones at their accommodation site to ensure safety of the participants and their engagement with the camp activities. To assure a safe environment for all the campers, we expect all our camp participants will provide their parents letter of consent (Parental Authorization) and travel insurance certificate.Participation feeUnlike the traditional voluntary camp, there will be mostly informal educational activities and guided language practice. Camp program implementation involves costs for boarding and lodging, domestic transport, materials, excursions, visits, cultural activities and general administration. Since neither EstYES, nor its partner ALPS receive any financial support for this camp from state or municipality, to make the camp happen we have to charge a participation fee from 350 to 600 Euro depending on the duration of the camp shift. This is a separate fee that is different from your country sending organization s fee you pay at home. International language camp is organized for teenagers by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALP S) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. The project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to the youth and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication by means of alternative English language practice which includes meetings, visits and direct contacts to young people from abroad. The project gets teens of 14 to 16 years old familiar with national traditions of the countries from all over the world, encourages them to develop their global thinking and individual initiative, tolerance and resistance to xenophobia and ethnic hatred. Camps give foreign participants a great chance to meet youngsters both from Estonia and other countries as well as to experience local life. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Camp participants will gain ideas and skills how to deal with a million of combinations of the world s reality.Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Thematic photo and video contests for camp participants will be organized.

l progetto ha lo scopo di valorizzare Le Balze, sono dei Calanchi naturali creati dall'azione corrosiva delle acque di un lago del Pliocenico, quando tutto il Valdarno era un lago appunto e il fiume Arno ancora non esisteva. Questa parte di territorio toscano, caratterizzato da guglie, piccoli canyon, immersi in una fitta vegetazione di tipo appenninico. In collaborazione con le associazioni di promozione locali, i gruppi trekking , il museo paleontologico, l'associazione Protezione Civile di Montevarchi, il Circolo di Legambiente, vuole promuovere un lavoro di manutenzione e sistemazione della sentieristica per favorire la conoscenza del territorio con un turismo lento di rispetto dei luoghi per la conoscenza di angoli che altrimenti non sarebbero visitati. Tutelare insomma l’ecosistema di questa area naturale sotto il profilo ambientale e culturale, attraverso la valorizzazione dell’aspetto storico-geologico, caratterizzato da una particolare conformazione geomorfologica che genera un tipico sistema paesaggistico di pregio. Il Campo si concluderà con la partecipazione volontaria e gratuita alla "Camminata per la Setteponti" che si svolgerà dal 13 al 15 giugno, con partenza dalla Pieve Romanica di Cascia a Reggello fino a Ponte Buriano , dove l’Arno “gira le spalle” ad Arezzo. Il circolo Legambiente Valdarno Superiore "Loredana Carminati" APS è stato costituito nel maggio 2023. Promuove iniziative per la valorizzazione del territorio; siamo impegnati nel contrasto delle ecomafie, interventi di educazione ambientale nelle scuole superiori; organizziamo iniziative concrete per Puliamo il Mondo e Festa dell'Albero. Il circolo è impegnato in un’azione di monitoraggio e valorizzazione delle esperienze innovative per favorire la costituzione delle C.E.R. Progetto di Citizen Scienze con UniSi, di monitoraggio della qualità dell'acqua dell'Arno e dei suoi affluenti. Lo stesso progetto si è sviluppato con un’esperienza di educazione ambientale per la scuole superiori “Oroblu. La Cultura dell’acqua tra ambiente e legalità”. Abbiamo anche organizzato un campo di volontariato di formazione e studio in Calabria nelle cooperativa Libera Terra, e la scorsa estate abbiamo organizzato due Campi di Volontariato: "Sua Maestà il Pratomagno e "Un lago, una storia, una miniera"
